Mark could feel his stomache rumble. It had to be around lunch time. He took one last look at the vast blue sea and then around the deck. He walked inside to the kitchen. He saw Luis in the kitchen and looked at him a moment. He walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hi mate. Are you making lunch, or just scavaging?"
Mark said to the man with a smile. He laughed a bit when he saw the man's face.
"Get a good lick out there eh? Perhaps that will teach you to leave people alone. But it's not like your type to take a hint I suppose. I've met people like you before on other voyages. What exactly is the deal between you and Eric anyway?"
Mark said staring into the man's eyes. His eyes narrowed. He didn't like this man at all. He didn't know why, perhaps it was because of all the comotion he caused. He leaned on the counter and picked up an apple. He bit into it and looked at Luis waiting for a reply.

<Bleh, mates, sorry about the absence...am on vacation, and only have the comp for a few hours a day. Will continue to be absent and only make sporadic posts...apologies!>
As Mark spoke to Hawk, Hawk simply listened. It was a talent of his...unlike Rose, who had no patience for stalking, Hawk could outwait a god. He listened to Mark, taking in everything he said thoughtfully. He did seem a decent fellow, but appearances could be deceiveing...still, Hawk wasn't about to challenge anyone on his father's ship.
So he simply nodded, then continued to watch Mark out of the corner of his amber eyes. He would keep an eye on him, but not be openly hostile...he wondered where Rose was, what Jack thought of the whole thing.
Rose was on the other side of the deck, leaning over the side of the Pearl. It was a precarious position...if someone pushed her, she would fall overboard. But she loved it...the exhilerating rush of the air blowing her hair back, the spray of the sea on her face...it was her favourite place to be. She locked out thought and just let herself go.

*Eric smiled only a little when she said she didnt want him getting wet and cold on her behalf. So she thought that he WOULD come in and save her if she toppled into the water. That made him feel a little better about where she stood with him. Her comment on his suitable but wild hair made him laugh and he shrugged a little, glancing out towards the general direction of Port Royal.* It wouldn't fit into conformity. That's why I'm keeping it. *He stated, glancing at her side long as he heard the name of Elinor amongst Evelyns muttering.
He was silent for a long moment before looking at her again.* I came to look after a couple people. *He answered in a simple tone, grinning a little as she bit her nails and noticed that she was doing so. He laughed and nudged her slightly, making sure not to tip her over the railing.* Ah doors and things can be replaced, you can't. Don't worry about it. *He said, slowly smiling at her. As he watched her he wondered what she was thinking. If any of it involved him nearly giving into his feelings in the cabin. It had taken a lot to keep him from doing so and now he was wanting to again.
As she spoke about her dreams and about him he nodded, noting her sad and distant eyes and this made him frown. He hated being apart of the reason she wasn't happy considering that was all he wanted her to be. His eyes trailed about her hair as it blew in the wind and he swallowed hard, trying to force himself not to feel anything.* I do want you to smile, like you used to. You have a beautiful smile you know. *He stated and then he cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck.* I'm glad I got to see you again, Evy. Despite the akward circumstances. *He said, grinning slightly when he heard a splash. He raised a brow and glanced around.* Did you hear that? *He asked, looking back at Evelyn curiously.*

::Jack went about his business on deck, whistling as he went and smiled. Finally a hour or so later he turned his eyes up to the sky and looked at it a long while.::
::A storm was blowing in. small one...but a storm none the less. He frowned just slightly. Well, best to tie up the cannons. No need for anyone ot get knocked off deck by one later..........:

As Eric spoke to her Eve couldn't help but give a small smirk at his words. When he mentioned doors being able to be replaced and her not being able to, Evelyn shook her head and let her eyes linger upon the waters beneath them. "Smile like I used to?" Evelyn sighed and looked to him but couldn't stand looking at him too long. "I just...I can't smile tha' way anymore mate. I, I dunno how ta smile like that anymore." She looked out at the seas and she shook her head a bit.
"I'm glad to have seen ye too mate." She said with a rare, genuine smile. "Even if just to see ye an'...an' not to...gah. I dunno. I just always thought that if I'd seen ye again I'd have thrown myself on ye really...but when I saw ye with Elinor I jus'...I got all angry and spiteful...I dunno. But I'm glad ye came. I missed ye." She told him as her honeyed eyes fell on him gently and she found herself reaching out a hand to touch him gently on the cheek before he asked her if she had heard anything.
Eve's head suddenly jerked away. "A splash?" she asked lifting a brow as she looked around. Then she noticed Maria was walking drunkenly on the side of the ship and she remembered seeing Sarah had been drinking with her. However soon she spotted Sarah, but she was merely throwing up overboard. A sigh of relief came over her but nontheless she went to investigate what had happened.
Peering overboard she noticed a ripple and lifted a cruved brow. "What the bloody 'ell?" she asked herself. Then suddenly she noticed dark hair and she blinked. Insantly she recognized the locks and shook her head in disbelief. "Rose?" she said a bit horrified. "ROSE!" she called and just then she made to grab a rope and tied it about her waist, ready to hasten and rescue the lass from the waters.
"Eric mate, take the other end...and whatever happens...don' let go, savvy?" she said quickly before she gave him the other end and without hesitating dived right in after her. Eve hit the waters grumbling. "Bloody pirates...can' bloody keep themselves aboard a bloody ship..." she said as she took a deep breath and plunged under the icy waters. Her eyes blinked about and she spotted Sarah, slowly fading into the deep. She dove deeper and caught Rose about the waist. She pulled her through the waters and surfaced with a gasp.
It was a struggle trying to keep Rose above the waters and she had to prop Rose's head on her shoulder to keep her head up. Eve was also being dragged along by the speed of Pearl and the rope was beginning to chaffe her waist. Her eyes looked up and a wave came at her abruptly, making her swallow sea water heavily and cough. "Pull me up!" She called before she was dragged under again by a large wave.
Evelyn looked up to the skies and noticed a small storm was on its way in and suddenly felt the knot around her waist loosen. Evelyn blinked and swam as hard as she could. "Pull!" she tried to call but a wave drowned it out and the rope fell away. "Bloody 'ell!" she cried as she made to grasp the end of the rope, but missed it...and her heart beat quickly.
Rain clouds came in quickly and she felt a slight drizzle. "No!" she cried and with a last lunge grabbed for the rope and missed...

Luis looked over at Mark and raised a brow. "Lunch? Heh no my comrade." he said giving him a sly grin. He rolled his eyes at the young mans' comments. "You know, you have NO IDEA whom you're speaking too...I could cut you into three parts in a blink of your eye, young boy, so you better hold your tongue. And what I DO is nothing of your concern. Its not MY fault you have such an uninteresting life that you must pry into another's..." he told him slyly as he spit at his feet a bit, making it look casual and then left carrying a few things in his arms.

*Tobbs gave a yawn, more of a disappointing nature than a bored or uneventful way. She threw her legs back on deck and stretched, casting a glance at Carrie randomly and unnoticed. Seeing Mark head for the kitchen randomly, she rose a brow and followed, deciding to see what he was up to and grab some kind of something on the way.*
*Catching the choice words tossed between the two, she narrowed her eyes on Luis and had a respectful vibe towards Mark. The man had a good sense of judgement, and his way of communicating so made her smile faintly.*
*As Luis spit at Mark's feet, she watched him head towards her and had half the mind to tackle him right then, but heard a shout after a small splash and muttered something about too much rum. Stepping before the exiting Luis, she sent him a glare and a gesture meaning to the effect 'I'm watching you', then hurried away quickly towards the side of the ship, judging full well that Mark could handle things.*
*Looking about for some sign of what was going on, she caught the drizzle that was coming their way and gave a dismal shrug, catching Ericwith a rope by the ocean side and running over to see what he held onto. As if she didn't really think she wouldn't know, she muttered and shouted down.*
"ROSE! EVY! WAIT TO SWIM AFTER THE STORM COMES!"
*Rolling her eyes and watching Evy carefully, she gave a worried frown when she heard her call and her continuation of being dragged under the water. She turned to Eric and went to his other side, grabbing the rope as well and trying to aid him in pulling.*
"It's not wo-"
*As if she'd suddenly announced the rope's failure, her eyes widened when the weight of the two crew mates were gone and the rope hung loosely as it had been untied. She slapped her forehead and looked to Eric quickly.*
"Alrigh', we've got two options. We both go over and each get someone, and then float away in the storm, or I tie this rope around you the right way and you get the other two. The latter sounds best. Alrigh', don' need yer input after all."
*She had made up her own mind, which was all that counted for her really, and she took the end of the rope and tied it tightly and securely around him, giving him a nod of completion. She would have loved to save the two, but being that there were two of them, and it was a storm, and Eric was stronger than her, she shrugged it off and sent him off to dive in. Then, thinking she might need some help pulling them up, she screamed out at the top of her lungs above the thunder that was approaching fast,"
"JACK!!!"

Sarah watched the commotion between Evelyn, Rose, Eric, and Tobbs from her hurling position. Her hand started to burn and she looked down at the rose scar. She cursed and ran towards Tobbs feeling slightly less dizzy.[/i] Tobbs, what can I do to help? I have to save Rose...Sarah pointed to her hand....Eve and Eric, before the storm hits. Sarah waited for Tobbs command anxiously, feeling sick from the rum and the thougth of her not being able to save Rose and the other two.

Selina lifted a brow as she looked over at Michael. "Groveling crew?" she huffed and turned back to the ship as she made her way towards it rather reluctantly. "I wouldn't say that. They're a tough lot." She told him with a nod as she weaved her way through a couple of drunks and they headed to the Blood's Call. In the soft moonlight the white sails glowed ghostly white and she smiled looking it over. She had rather enjoyed this life aboard this ship much more than the one on an island constantly. Upon the seas you were free, you came and went as you pleased.
As they boarded the ship Selina glanced around at the crew and shrugged. She was rather used to their drunken stares. It had disturbed her for a bit earlier on while traveling with them but now it was as meaningless as watching the wood on deck. "Mesmorized? Of course mate...I'm quite the catch if you haven't noticed already." She told him giving him a wink.
"Right then...follow me mate." she told him as she made to head down towards the cabins. The hall was dark and dingy and only a barely burning lantern lit the passageway. The ship rocked just slightly with the incoming waves and she made her way down the hall to an empty cabin and opened the door. "Here ye go mate." She todl him with a smile. "its not much but its liveable I suppose." She stated as she stepped back allowing him to enter.

((hmm...did Rose really fall overboard or is she just spacing out on deck? however, assuming she did fall I'll play along.))
::Jack blinked and looked up at the sound of his name, realized it was Tobbs and leapt over at her, not botheringot ask why, but just figured it be worth while to throw his support into whatever it was she was holding onto...:::
::He grabbed hold of the rope and held on tight:: "Storm's not even here and we got people overboard......only on the Pearl....." He smirked and held fast:::

*Arayel jolted awake in the hold of the Pearl as the thunder rumbled across the sky. She ran her hands through her shoulder length, auburn ringlets as she sat bolt upright. Looking to and fro. Thankfully there were no portholes in the cargo hold to show the inevitable bolt of lightning that would have followed the particularly loud rumble. She shook her head back and forth, closing her eyes tightly. Arayel hated storms, they reminded her too much of the day she'd lost her sister. She looked down to the man layng next to her, still slumbering peacfully and chuckled ruefully.* I always did say you could sleep through most anything my love. *She chuckled softly at Mason, running her hand through his dark tresses. She bent down to lay a soft kiss on his cheek, before rising to pace the floor a bit. Absently she smoothed her hands over the black fitted boddice she wore over the off the shoulder cream colored blouse, with billowed sleeves. Her black boots, coming up to mid thigh over a pair of well fitted black britches made a faint clicking noise on the boards as she paced. Mason had been all for stowing away abord the Black Pearl the second he saw her pull into harbor at Port royale. Leaving Arayel to attempt talking him out of what she thought to be a completely scatterbrained scheme. Unfortunately, things didn't always work the way Arayel liked them too, and somehow, Mason had managed to convince her that sneaking aboard the infamous Jack Sparrow's ship was ultimately a good idea. Finally she kneeled once more at the dark haired man's side, picking up a plumed hat from it's place on the floor and placing it rakishly on her head. She meant to gently shake him awake, but another peal of thunder wracked the sky, causing her to jump with a yip and land on her backside, her hand resting lightly on her chest as she breathed heavily in her fright*

* Maria watched as if she could do nothing. Her hands began to tremble as she crawled her way over to the crowd. She watched as the Eric jumped in for Evy and Rose from a state of blurred vision. The thunderheads were slowly inching towards the ship and the ship slowly inched towards it. Rain began to beat hard against her body and the ship shook vigourously on the crashing waves. *
* She stumbled over glancing up at he captain as he rushed to save his daughter and crewmates*
* Chris saw atop a barrel contemplating on what he had left behind when the shreik had startled him, making him jump to his feet. From where he stood he watched as Evelyn and Rose go over. The lass going in first. He ran towards them as Jack pulled them up. Chris glanced over his shoulder seeing the heavy clouds rolling in. It began as a light patter, the soft rain drops then turned into a flurry sheet of rain.*

<Yeah, wasn't intending for Rose to fall...sorry 'bout that phrasing, but it's okay ^^;>
It had been a moment of surprisingly carelessness for Rose. With the approaching storm - she could sense it on the winds - she had been planning to go help - she was adventurous, but not stupid. However, when the ship hit a jolt that was so slight, most of the crew didn't feel it, her grip had been dislodged and she had gone flying. Too surprised, she had only had time for a yelp before she'd hit the water. Light-headed and breathless, the shock of cold and the shock of impact weren't enough to make her go unconscious...but it was a very close call...
Numbly she saw Evy dive after her, felt her pulling her up. "Leggo," she said, her speech broken from semiconsciousness. "'ll drag y'down...'ll get out m'self...get out..."
However, Hawk was standing at the kitchen door, arms crossed and looking at Luis with his chocolate-brown eyes, looking identical to a young Jack Sparrow. He was leaning against the doorframe, but stood up, pushing off, and raised an eyebrow; the young man could be quite an imposing figure when he had to be.
"You know," Hawk said pleasantly, his eyes never leaving Luis's, "my father doesn't much enjoy having threats made on his ship." His voice was deceptively calm, with no trace of accent - it was a skill of Hawk's, being able to disguise his voice to mimic most accents. "You're new to the crew...both of you," he added, shooting Mark a warning look before giving Luis the same one. "It would be best if you learned your place, made no threats, and brewed no enmity. We've yet to see the true colours of both of you, so if I were you, I'd stay on my best behaviour."
Hawk was a very good speaker with a knack for capturing people's attention; having said his piece, he stepped aside and inclined his head - whether the gesture was respectful or mocking was impossible to tell - allowing Luis to pass.

Mark looked over at Hawk and the angered look fell from his face. He looked back at Luis and frowned a bit.
"I am truely sorry Hawk it won't happen again, though I can't give you any promises."
Mark said as he turned his gaze to Luis
"I will withhold from tying this dog to a tree and shooting him so long as he leaves me and the others be."
Mark turned and went back out on deck. A storm was coming in. He went around tightening some ropes here and there and then went below decks and made sure the cannons were secure. Wouldn't want one of those to come loose. He smiled and chuckled to himself upon seeing the cannons again. He avoided any contact with a lantern this time.

*Eric watched Jack as the man went to work preparing the Pearl for the storm that was coming and he looked back at Evelyn, giving her a light tap on the arm and a simple smile.* You'll learn again. I promise. *He said, hoping that someday she'd smile from the heart again. Then he laughed a little and nodded his head.* I'd of probably thrown myself on you too if it wasnt for...her. *He grunted, figuring he probably really would have.
As she reached out to touch his cheek he felt his heart skip a beat and then he muttered a curse to himself as he brought up the sound of splashing at the wrong time, causing her to pull away. However he followed her over to the edge and peeked over as well, looking at her with wide eyes as they recognized the person overboard as [/b]Rose[/b].
Before he knew it there was one end of a rope in his hands with Evelyn tied to the other end now dangling in the water. He blinked a moment but held on tightly, glad that the lass was relativley light. He peered over the edge nervously as she went under, giving a relieved sigh as she surfaced again with Rose. He glanced over at Tobbs as she came to his aid with the rope, and As Evy yelled at him to pull he did, tugging at it a few times with Tobbs when suddenly it became extremly light and he realized shed lost her grip on it.*[/i] EVELYN! *He cried, knowing she'd strugle to stay afloat with the storm coming in and Rose in her arms. He looked at Tobbs horrified.
He nodded with her plan of action, raising his arms to allow her to tie the rope about his waist. He was the stronger of the two and had the best chance fetching the women in the water. His eyes went to Sarah as she offered her help but he knew she was probably too drunk and ill to do too much. And it wouldn't be wise to risk loosing her in the waters as well in her state of mind. As Jack clung hold of the rope he didn't wait another moment and flung himself over the side and down into the water, quickly grabbing Evelyn and Rose and holding onto them with all the strength he could muster. He looked at Evelyn nervously.* Are you two alright? *He called above the sound of the pounding rain. Then he looked back up, blinking as the large drops splashed across his face.* IVE GOT EM. PULL US UP! *He cried at the top of his lungs, hoping his voice hadn't been carried away by the wind.*

Evelyn struggled as she kicked hard in the water. Fortunately she was an excellent swimmer so she was falling too far behind, but with the rain beginning to pound upon them it was making it hard for her peer around the choppy, grey, seas. She swam hard and heard a few mumbles coming from Rose's mouth but she simply rolled her eyes. Just as she felt herself falling behind and fatigue beginning to settle in however she felt an arm around her and she resurfaced.
Her honey colored eyes looked around a bit frantically and she shook the soaked curls from her eyes as she noticed Eric and she blinked a bit surprised. "Eric mate! What are ye doin'?" she asked a bit angrily as she looked him over. " 'M fine! I could 'ave gotten her out myself damnit." she shouted at him through the rain that was beginning to pound down on them all. She shivered slightly but she became numb to the cold for the moment. "Eric! 'M bloody fine! You jus' go an' help Rose! Besides ye can' pull the BOTH of us up with ye! You'll lose yer bloody grip I know it." She called. She stared up at the crew and shouted for another rope. "HE CAN'T PULL US BOTH UP!" She cried with all her might. The storm might have been rough, but Evelyn's angered screams could shatter windows really.
With that she pushed away from him and dove for the other piece of rope. She blinked as she went under, trying to find the other piece of rope and then grabbed hold of it under the water and then wound it around her wrist a few times. She resurfaced noting as Eric and Rose were being pulled up the side of the ship. There was a loud crack in the sky and she stared up as a flash of lightning darted across the inky skies. "PULL ME UP!" She called angrily and shaking her head. "I dunno WHY I have ta go an' be the blooy hero all the bloody time..." Eve began to mumbled as she was slowly pulled up towards the ship and toppled onto the deck shortly after Eric and Rose.
She spat out a lot of water and crumpled to the decks shivering a bit from the shock of the ordeal AND of the constant, hard, winds. She was soaked to the bone and struggled to regain her composure, but seeing that Rose was alright was enough to calm her a bit. As she looked Eric over a bit, a small smirk came across her lips. She had not thought he would have TRULY gone after her...but he did...
Luis looked up as suddnely Hawk entered and he sighed heavily. He was reaching his boiling point really. He didn't like this HAWK's tone, but nonetheless he was a member of the crew and to simply bicker with him would only bring him under MORE careful watch. To his words Luis simply grunted and rolled his eyes, deciding not even to WASTE a word on this one.
Instead he mad to his cabin where he placed the bundle of foods upon his bed and would begin to plan the dinner when suddenly he caught the noise of a bit of a commotion. He blinke and furrowed his brows. He sighed heavly and shook his head before he reluctantly went to see what happened.
As he came up on the decks he only saw rain pouring down in sheets and strained to see what was going on...
