*Eric lingered just out of view of the doorway for a little bit, not really wanting to eavesdrop but also wanting to hear what lines Luis was going to drop on Evelyn. Eric knew there would be pleanty of them and he was right. He rolled his eyes and snorted as he started walking away again. He couldn't believe this guy and further more couldn't believe that Evelyn was listening to what he had to say.
When he heard the mans distinctive voice again he groaned and paused, but didn't turn around for a long moment. He shoved his hands in his pockets.* Now what do you want? *He asked, spinning around to face the man. He grinned and took another step closer to the man.* The day I take something you say to heart is the day I put a barrel to my head. *He scowled and then felt a tang of hurt when the man said Evelyn had no need for him. Eric nodded a little and shrugged.* She's never really had a need for anybody. She can stand on her own two feet. *He stated, trying to push past him, but the man blocked his way.
He swallowed his anger as the man spoke again, clenching and unclenching his fists inside his pockets as if it were a way to keep him from attacking the man here and now.* Maybe I won't have her, but trust me Luis...neither will you. Don't think I can't see through you either mate because to me you're clear as glass. I know you didn't come to rekindle your relationship with her. *He growled, looking the man over. He grunted a little when the man said he'd be watching him.* Good, as long as your eyes are on me, they won't be on her. *He said, folding his arms across his chest.* Now I suggest you go make yourself useful as well.*[/i] He said, using the mans words against him. Then he laughed and gave a nod.*[/i] Oh wait thats right...you have trouble holding up to your word. *He grinned, then reached out and patted Luis on the head.* You have a good morning, sir. *He said and with a smirk on his face shoved past him, continuing down the hall.*

Evelyn looked after Luis and small smirk crossed her face then she wiped her hands upon the cloth and sighed heavily. Everything was happening so quickly really. She didn't want Eric and Luis to fight. They didn't need a crew to bicker and it bothered her that the two just couldn't get along. But then again, she supposed she could see WHY it was Eric didn't like him. All he ever saw was Luis' bad side. The one that had hurt her, and in a way she was satisfied knowing it made him angry to see Luis around. The only reason Eric had to hate Luis was that Luis had damaged her and the fact that he was upset at Luis at all was something she took as a compliment really.
Did this mean Eric STILL could harbor feelings for her then?
Luis growled as Eric pat his head and as Eric made to pass him Luis grabbed him by the shoulder, turning him around to face Luis violently. "Do NOT put your hands on me! You know VERY well that I could rip you to shreds." He told him lifting his brow and grabbing Eric by the collar pulling him towards him. "I'll keep an eye on you Eric, but trust me, I'll be paying PLENTY attention to that Evelyn as well...you know...all this time might have changed her spirit, but her looks haven't faded at all...wouldn't you say so, Eric? And I might not completely be here to rebuild my 'relationship' with her, but that does not mean I can possibly get something from her..." He said giving him a sneer and stepping dangerously within range of Eric's face.
"It IS a pity you let her go really, she DOES have her...'finer' points. But one man's trash is another mans treasure I suppose...or...at least another man's USABLE trash..." he said slyly giving a small huff. Just as Luis looked Eric over he could tell he was getting to the man. He would burst at any moment and he prayed Eric would blow up now and hit him. It would instill distrust in Evelyn for Eric and would work to his advantage in the end. Just then he heard footsteps and looked behind him and groaned slightly.
Evelyn had left the galley and made her way down the hallyway and lifted a brow. Eric and Luis were dangerously close to one another and they didn't seem to happy. She stepped quickly and pushed past Luis, getting, intinctively it seemed, in front of Eric. "I do hope you tw aren' fightin'. I'd hate ta have ta tell Jack we've got a couple o' troublemakers aboard, savvy?" Eve said in a voice full of warning to the both of them, although her eyes lingered on Luis and the narrowed a bit. She placed a hand softly upon Eric's arm. "Savvy?" she said looking him over and knowing they had exchanged a few words.
"We don' bloody need this aboard now, we've got things ta do. So get on deck...the both o' ye." She said sternly, trying to take control of the situation and then gave Eric a pat on the arm, looked up at him, then left upon the decks.

Sarah smiled at Carrie, knowing it's hard falling for a man whom you will never have. Don't worry dear, you're feelings won't last for ever, at least, one can hope. Sarah bit her lip, feeling as if that wasn't much encouragement, but before she had time to worry she noticed Maria and a few others working on the sails and went over to help. It feels good to finally set off, does it not? Sarah sighed as a slight breeze picked up, carrying the singing voices of the crew across the sea.

(OOC - Hey everyone, I'm BAACK! I went on a trip to Connecticut for a few days, which is why I haven't posted in a while. I meant to post Thursday night before I left, but my computer died before I had the chance... It's in the shop now though, so it should be fixed sometime this week! ^__^ Ok, time to catch up...)
::The sign of the Guilded Inn tavern swung eeriely on its creaking hinges above the door of the building it claimed. Ingraved upon the sign were a foaming mug and cutlass, the symbols of this particular tavern, which boasted of its most excellent rum as well as its reputation for housing dangerous pirates. Whether this was a warning or an invitation depended upon the type of person daring to enter::
::The slight breeze whipped the heavy fog into swirling tendrils around Captain Barbossa's head as he approached. It had been some time since his last visit here; he wondered if anyone would still remember him. Smirking to himself at the memory of his former...reputation here, Barbossa gripped the rung handle of the wooden door and pulled it open::
::All eyes in the place turned to him for a moment, followed by several muffled gasps. Aye, they remembered him....::
"Lily! 'ow 'bout a tall mug o' rum fer an old friend, eh?" ::He grinned as an older woman, perhaps in her fifties - although not without her charms - stepped out from behind the counter and moved toward him::
"Oi, well if it ain't me ol' mate, Cap'n Barbossa! I ain't seen ye in years, love!" ::she beamed, her old English accent very apparent in her speach. As if she had been expecting his arrival, she handed him a large mug, already overflowing with the most delicious rum in all of Tortuga. Then, gently, she took his arm and led him to a back table - his favorite, in fact - and sat down next to him. The rest of the ill-reputable patrons in the tavern shrugged and returned to their own drinks, quite forgetting Barbossa's presence::
"Lily, it does me black 'eart good ta see ye again. 'ow's business these days?"
::Lily pulled a few strands of curly red hair out of her face and smiled:: "Oh, ye kn'w 'ow it be around 'ere, Morgan. One night the place be full up, th' next she's emptier th'n me Issac's 'ead."
"Ah, Issac! Where be yer son, I 'aven't seen 'im since he was naught but six. Still dreamin' o' becomin' a pirate like 'is uncle, eh?" ::He grinned knowingly and took a sip of his drink::
"Aye, still clingin' ta th' dreams YE put in 'is 'ead. If ye weren't me brother-in-law, I'da run ye through fer makin' such a useless lad outta 'im!" ::She playfully slapped his hand and stood to leave:: "But ye get away with a warnin' fer now. Ye know... per'aps ye should meet th't son o' mine. He's only sixteen, but 'e'd make a fine sailor fer yer crew. Maybe YE could find a use fer 'im, Lord knows he's worthless 'round here!"
::She winked as she walked off, getting back to her duties as proprietor of the tavern. Barbossa sighed and leaned back in his chair, fully content to just sit and enjoy his rum for the moment. Before long, two wenches - regulars at the Guilded Inn - moved over to sit with him, hoping to make a few good coins off the famous Captain Barbossa. He, of course, didn't mind their company, and was even about to suggest getting a room when he spotted Selina at the bar::
::She seemed to be working as well, judging from the looks she was giving the man she was with. He couldn't see the man's face, but they seemed to be talking casually so Barbossa supposed it was none of his business. Selina could take care of herself... although this man did give off a rather intimidating presense. He suddenly found himself growing protective of his friend, and was considering going to her aid when she stood up and kissed the man. Before he could react, she was leading him over to Barbossa's table::
"Selina! Glad ta see ye'aven't been shot!" ::Bossa said, grinning slyly::
"Well you know, I DO try and avoid trouble really...it just seems that trouble itself follows ME everywhere. Captain, THIS is Michael Carver. I was wondering if perhaps we could take him on our voyage. It would be useful to have a strong arm on the ship." ::she said casually. Barbossa turned to get a good look at the man she had been with...this Michael Carver::
::He was tall, well-muscled, and had a certain charm about him that even Barbossa couldn't ignore. He considered for a moment; he would most definitely prove an asset to have aboard any ship, yet... he had seen the way Selina looked at him, and at once thought back to Damien, and all the trouble their love had caused. Than again, perhaps Selina had learned her lesson, and had once again frozen her heart to such emotions...::
"'ave ye sailed on a ship before, boy?" ::Barbossa asked, staring hard into Carver's eyes. Although this man was clearly not a child, Barbossa was testing him, waiting to see if he would accept the insult or retaliate against his would-be superior::
"I've been on a few, Captain Barbossa; I know my way around sails and a deck." ::he replied calmly. The pirate captain smirked::
"Aye then... welc'me aboard th' Blood's Call. I'm sure ye'll feel right a' 'ome. Now, if ye'll excuse me..." ::He stood, adjusted his great plumed hat, wrapped an arm around each of the ladies next to him, and headed for the stairs::
