Sarah smiled at Carrie's kind words. Thank you Carrie, but as for you never finding a man, I'm not quite sure about that. There are many a fine pirate men that won't tell her what to do or how to dress you know. Sarah turned when he heard Jack yell to hoist the anchor. Oh good we are finally setting off. I long for a horizon with no other boats or land, just an open sea.

Lily had helped Jack open the sails with a snap and looked at them with pride. The Black pearl was a fine ship, and she was proud to be a part of the crew. Then Jack called for the anchor to be raised. She smiled and went below deck as other members of the crew went to do just that
She smelled someone making breakfast and smiled as she took some toast and a apple and went off in a private place to eat. As she ate she listened to the sounds of the crew waking up. The Captain was a strang man in that respect.
normally most captains would have all their crew up at the same time and all doing assigned chores. Not so with this crew. everyone got up as they pleased, and did what needed to be done without being told. and always they were sailing on time.
She smiled to herself as she finished her breakfast then went up on deck to sharpen her throwing knives. She kept them attached to leather bands strapped to the upper part of her arm. six in all and she was deadly with them. This earned her the nickname of "Belladonna." for the deadly flower.
Lily yawned once and then smiled as the rest of the crew woke up and began moving around the deck

Roux went to help lift the anchor with a few other people from the crew. He was glaf to help and watched the crew move around the deck, some off to get breakfast, others to help with the normal assignments.
when the anchor had been lifted he stood back a moment and looked into the sky. It was to be a fine day. Softly, but just loudly enough for the rest of the pople on deck to hear, he began humming Jack's song.
Soon a few more people took up the song and a full fledged song was going, in eight part harmony. Roux laughed. It never took much to get the crew singing.

Lily joined in the harmony as the crew began singing. it was really amusing. Some of the crew singing the chorus lines, others singing the diffrent stanzas and others simply humming backup. Lily laughed and picked up the chorus sections.
by this time the crew was singing loudly enough to wake the dead, but it sounded very nice. She continued to sharpen her daggers and laughed at Roux when he walked by. She looked up just long enough to tap his shoulder.
"good job!" She snickered at him and smiled. "Nothing like singing pirats to get you going in the morning."

::Jack was smirking when the crew began singing. for once he wasnt the one who had started it. It was Roux and he laughed all the more. Roux normally kept to himself, but when he decided to do something he did it well. And poking the crew into singing multi part harmony wasn't exactly a easy task::
::So Jack laughed, and joined in a as well, lifted his own voice up adding to diffrent sections as he saw fit, or felt like singing and guided the Pearl into the wind. A fine day indeed:::

Sarah laughed as her shipmates began singing Jack's song. She soon joined in and looked over at Elizabeth, knowing the song was one of her favorites. It was a perfect way to begin the voyage, Sarah could tell that this crew would be one of the best. Yo-ho-yo-ho a pirate's life for me.

*Carrie sang the pirate's song full heartedly and smiled at Sarah*"Thank you for the heartening words Sarah. But the only man I could ever desire... well he's at the helm of this ship. Not to mention that he's awfully close to Tobbs. And I wouldn't want her angry with me, mind ye, but sometimes I wish I was in 'er position. But no matter, perhaps you are right and I'll find me a man and a pirate who rivals these girlish crushes that I have had so far." *Carrie then began to hum the song more quitely and she saw the Captain calling for the hoisting of the anchor. She smiled at his vibrant face and then looked away. She should know better than to fall for a man that would never be hers.*

* The crew was to set off as the word came from Jack to Hoist the anchor. She left Hawk's side as she went to go adjust the sails. It was heavy work for her but soon more of the crew came along to help her* " Thanks.... Didn't think I could to it me self.." * She said a bit embarrased. She could have done it alone.. I mean any girl could do it at fifteen right? She stood aside as the sound of Jacks voice reached her ears and the melody soon filled the entire ship's atmosphere. She closed her eyes and listened intently to the song while the wind filled in on its own melody*

Mark was excited when the call for 'Hoist Anchor' went out. He knew he was commited to the trip now...no going home for God knows how long. He heard the crew begin to sing and quickly joined in. He hadn't been on a ship in a while, but he knew everything would come back to him. He figured that he had become the cook on the ship, seeing as to how he was complimented so much on his breakfast. He began to think it a bad idea to have done that. He didn't come to be a cook, but if that was his task he'd do it. When the song was over Mark walked over to the railing. He looked out over the vast ocean. He began to wonder what was waiting out there for them. What ever it was...he'd be ready...

*Eric chewed on his lip for a moment as she brought up him going back to Elinor when the journey was all said and done. He wiggled his fingers through his hair for a moment and smacked his lips together a few times and shrugged, honestly not able to find any way of answering that. His eyes darted towards her and he lifted his brows in surprise when he recieved more than a one word answer to his akward sleep question. At her words he began to wonder what kinds of things danced about in her head in the darkness as she slept...or didn't sleep which seemed more the case.* Is it ever because of me? *He asked, and his eyes widened suddenly and he laughed uncomfortably.* Haha, I uh...I didn't mean to say that out loud. *He said, clearing his throat.
He couldn't have been sitting with her that long and already he was making an ass of himself, something he always did a lot yet seemingly only around her. Finally he decided the best way to move past his question was to answer hers.* I uh, I sleep about the same as you it sounds like. When I first came back to Port Royal I was almost afraid to go to sleep, worried about what I would dream. *He said, almost to himself as his eyes became dark pools of thought. He shrugged and sat back in his chair.
He rocked back and forth a bit on the legs of the chair, tapping his fingers on his knees as he glanced around the room, locking his eyes on Evelyn only briefly now and again, when he heard the Captain shout to hoist anchor. He smiled broadly.* Well, guess that was my last chance for escape. Now its gone. *He winked, listening as the crew seemingly burst into song out on the deck.*

Evelyn finished her breakfast and took a long drought of her flask as Eric asked her if it was because of him. Eve suddenly blinked and began to choke on her rum. "Gah!" She said as she turned to the side and coughed a bit, clearing her throat. She hadn't been expecting THAT from him. "I's alright mate. Erm, actually, in the beginning it WAS becaue of ye...but...its more stuff in my past really." She said as she pulled back a few strands of her hair. "Ye know memories an' whatnot...I USED ta be able ta hold 'em back really well, but they're comin' back really hard fer some reason..." Eve said with a shrug.
She was beginning to feel that old sense of knowing Eric forever, it was almost as if they hadn't been seperated for all THAT long really...although there still was a barrier there. She sighed heavily. Her eyes passed over him curiously and she stood to put away her plate. As he told her he was worried about what he would dream Evelyn placed the plate in the wash basin and then paused briefly. She closed her eyes a bit. "Really? What were ye afraid o' dreamin' of? Ashley?" she asked him lifting a brow and then sighing and shaking her head. "Ye know what, sorry. I didn' mean ta bring her back up." she said as she looked over her shoulder at him briefly.
Suddenly Evelyn looked towards the door and a smile came upon her face. "Well the crew sounds like they're in good spirits...at least SOME of us are..." she laughed. "An' aye...I think that WAS yer last call. Guess yer stuck with us now, come hell er high water...literally." she told him giving him a wink.

Luis woke in the morning quite late and shook his head, blinking his eyes and groaning groggily. His eyes looked around the room wildly and he was almost startled to see where he was. He gathered his things and changed quickly. He looked in the mirror and growled at himself. He ALMOST had Evelyn last night. As a matter of fact, he was moments away from storming into her room and yanking her out just last night, but then footsteps were heard on deck and he made to his room quickly. He had almost blown his cover as well.
As he left his room his nose caught scent of food and he smiled. At least the ship seemed to have DECENT food aboard. The sudden sound of singing wafted towards his ears and he groaned. "Ay Dios mio..." he said as he shook his head. "We better reach land soon." he told himself clenching his jaw a bit.
As he reached the galley he peered in and saw Eric and Evelyn. "Evelyn! Buenos dias senorita..." he said with a sly smile. As his eyes landed on Eric he rolled his eyes a bit and took a seat at the table, taking up what was once Evelyn's old seat. "Morning...ERIC." Luis stated gruffly as he propped his feet on the table. "I see you managed to pry yourself from your woman to come aboard here." he told him in a disgusted tone. Luis had almost forgotten Eric would be joining them. This would definately make things a bit more difficult.
His eyes passed over Evelyn and he spotted her by the washbasin and beside her he saw a few bits of ham and bread and he sat in his chair regularly. "Evelyn, do you think you could pass me a bit of ham while you are up?" he asked her in his 'polite' tone.

*Eric nodded at her response to the lack of sleep and he frowned a little, lowering his eyes. He couldn't imagine what kind of Hell Evelyn had once had to go through and honestly it made him angry she had ever had to be in that situation. When she mentioned Ashley and appologized for it he rose and leaned against his back and elbows against the small counter as he looked at her and smiled a little.*
Ah, you don't have to appologize about bringing her up. It's almost been two years since I lost her...I'm dealing with it really well now. *He said, glancing towards the door as more voices chimmed into the singing. He sighed heavily and looked back at her.* I just didn't want to dream of a more recent loss. *He added softly, still looking at her. As she spoke again he laughed and followed her gaze towards the door once more.* Sounds like they are. You should chime in. *He winked, nudging her a bit.
His eyes tore away from her as an all too familiar voice broke into their conversation and he cringed, glancing angrily over at Luis. He smirked a little and looked the man over, laughing slight at his words of Elinor.* Well I guess you'd be the one to notice that, seeing as to how you know all about that. *He scowled. When the man asked her to pass the ham, Eric glanced over at her, wondering if she would do it and doubted she would.*

As Eric mentioned not wanting to dream of a more recent loss Evelyn's eyes looked straight ahead and then she looked over at him. She gave him a small smirk, blushed a little, then returned to stacking all the dirty plates in the wash basin and began to scrub them down a bit. "Well...truth be told mate...ye never REALLY did lose me..." she said softly then cleared her throat a bit. She shook her head slightly, as if disappointed in the way she was talking to him. What was she doing? He was happy...with someone else and that was the end of it.
As he nudged her and told her to chime in Evelyn shook her head and laughed. "Oh trus' me mate, ye don' want my gull like screech ta join THAT! I'd shut them all up within a bar o' that song." Eve paused as she said this and then tilted her head a bit and looked to him. "Ye know...actually...that wouldn' be the worst bloody thing now that I think about it." She said with a soft chuckle and blowing out a bit of wind from her mouth, trying to blow a curl away from being in her face.
As Eric spoke gruffly to Luis as he entered she groaned a bit. She had been enjoying their little conversation but gave a slight smirk nonetheless as he spoke spanish to her. "Buenos dias ta ye too senor. Ojala tuviste una buena noche." She told him looking over her shoulder a bit. She had picked up a bit of spanish from Luis a few years ago when they were back on the Devil's Wrath and it had stuck. As Luis asked her to pass him some ham she laughed and shook her head. "You can come up here and damn well serve yerself, ye might be charmin' but ye aren' THAT bloody good lookin'." Eve told him with a playful wink. Although deeply she gave a bit of growl. She didn't like being told what to do, and really she WAS barely getting to know this 'new' Luis really.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luis rolled his eyes at Eric's comment. "YOU, do not start with me THIS early in the voyage." he told him sternly and then looked to Evelyn again and gave her a smirk. "Oh come now Evelyn...ye seemed to think I was PLENTY good looking not too long ago..." Luis began to say as he stood and made to gather a plate and a bit of food for himself. He leaned in towards her and said softly, "why have things changed SO drastically now?" he asked her in a half serious half playful tone, leaving it at that, wondering how Eve would take it.
Luis was going to test the waters a bit with her now. He needed to know exactly how much she still, if any, cared for him at all. He knew with this Eric around it would be a bit difficult, but he had a bit of a plan with Eric already. "And you know Eric, should you not be up on deck pulling your own weight by now? Or do you rather enjoy sitting back letting the women of the ship do the chores for you?" He asked him with a sly smile.
Evelyn placed the plates down and sighed a bit at his words, closing her eyes for a moment as he walked away. "Yes, Luis, they HAVE changed. Ye know, leavin' me waitin' for ye to return AND givin' me a nice slap back in Tortuga DO tend to change someone's view. When ye hurt someone, Luis, they CAN forgive...but they'll never forget." She sighed as she scrubbed away at a rather stubborn stain, seemingly taking out a bit of her anger on the plates at the moment. She groaned a bit, obviously annoyed by Luis' last comment but shook her head. She didn't need to pick a fight with him at the moment.
*As the other two in the room began to speak Spanish back to one another Eric picked up on a little of it. Ashley had been well educated in many languages as a girl and she taught him what she could though most of it didn't stick. He grinned quite largley as she told the man he could get his own breakfast but rolled his eyes up towards the ceiling where they stuck for a moment as the man mentioned how Evelyn had once found him plenty good looking. It irritated Eric to no end that this man had actually been with her once.
As Luis leaned in towards her Eric stood straight up, folding his arms across his chest almost as if he expected the man to kiss her at that moment. When he didn't, Eric relaxed again and returned to leaning on the counter. As the man insulted him Eric felt his jaw clench and he darted a firey gaze at him.* Not two seconds ago you just asked her if she'd get your damn breakfast, and you slept in a whole lot later than everyone else did. So don't pull that with me. *He snapped, glancing at Evelyn as she brought up a couple things he'd done to her in the past.
Finally he reached out and patted Evelyn on the arm, smiling at her a bit.* I'm gonna go see if I can't find Will. *He said and ignoring Luis' presence in the room he turned and left, knowing if he stayed around the man too long he'd do something he'd regret.*
Evelyn sighed deeply as Eric pat her on the arm. She looked at his hand and surprisingly the small pat actually hurt. She lifted a brow and looked him over. "Er, right Eric. I'll see ye 'round I s'ppose. There ain' too much room on a ship anyway." She told him with a smirk. As he made to leave her eyes lingered on him a bit. He seemed...bulkier now. She had not noted it before, perhaps because of the simple shock of seeing him at all, but he DID seem a bit larger than she last remembered and oddly enough, she found a grimace forming on her face at noting this.
Luis made to retort to Eric a bit but held it back. "That man can lose his temper quite easily, can't he?" he asked her lifting a brow and narrowing his eyes at Eric's form as he left.
Eve washed the plates and began to dry them with a rag as he spoke. She didn't like the way he was talking about Eric at the moment. " 'E only acts when provoked...ye've got ta admit, ye DID throw a jab at him." She told him lifting a brown and looking over her shoulder at him. She shook her head at her comments. Was she becoming...defensive? Why? Maybe just because she knew what Eric was like...that he would NEVER hurt anyone really...but just as quickly as she thought this she sighed. He HAD hurt someone before...her.
"You are right, I am sorry. It seems you two have remained good friends." He stated sternly, hoping her defensive nature of him was simply out of a strong friendly bond they shared and nothing more. "You know, Evelyn, I DID have a good night. It was the most pleasant of any I can remember." He began slowly as he forked in his food quickly. "I pondered why exactly it was I slept so well and I came up with the answer. You."
To this Eve paused and furrowed her brows curiously. "Me? Why would I help ye sleep any? I don' remember giving ye a good punch across the face that would 'ave knocked ye out fer hours." She said with a soft chuckle.
Luis gave a small laugh but sneered a bit. "I'd like to see you TRY and hit me..." he grumbled as he took a sip of a mug of water he was able to pick up. "No." he spoke up. "Truly...it was simply because I was finally at peace. Ever since I hurt you, Evelyn, my life was...a torment. I felt completely guilty over what I had done and I had asked God several times for forgiveness, but it was not until yesterday, when you kindly forgave me that I was able to finally be at peace." To this Luis stood and walked towards Evelyn placing his plate in the wash basin. "I could finally sleep well, knowing I was forgiven...you gave me peace Evelyn. I thank you sincerely for that." He said as he placed a hand upon her shoulder and then made for the door.
Luis exited and headed down the hall quickly, making to catch up to Eric, preparing to bore a few things into his mind. "Eric...really. It is GOOD to see you on board. I see you are taking my words to heart, eh? Going to find something USEFUL for yourself then? Because, you know, EVELYN obviously has no need for you." He told her with a snide smirk. "Honestly, do not think I see right through you." he then stated as he stood in front of Eric, blocking his passage. "I SAW the way you looked at her, you dream of her still, do you not? Well, just so you know, you WILL NOT have her. She has long forgotten you and I do not wish for her to be in pain anymore." He told him with a fake look of concern upon his face.
"Mark my words, Eric, I SHALL be watching you." He told him with a nod. Really, Luis wanted to see if he could provoke Eric, bring him to cause a fight and thus he would be the one in the guilty corner. He KNEW Eric still had feelings for her, otherwise, WHY would he come aboard here at all when he had a perfectly beautiful woman at home.
