Tasha swam to shore, and fell unconscious as soon as her body reached the sand. A few hours later she woke up, unsure of what had happened. The ship sinking slowly, Tasha being pulled under, but fighting to the surface. She slightly shuddered. She didn't want to remember the feeling of drowning. She sighed and stood up, looking around. Tortuga. Tasha couldn't help smiling inspite of herself. She loved Tortuga. Parties and rum. What more could you want? I want Avery, Tasha thought. She shook her head and walked toward her favorite pub. She walked in, nodding to people she recognized.
She ordered some rum, and went to find a seat. She saw Michael and rushed up to him, glad to see that there was another from ship. Michael! How did you...are there any others?

Sarah smiled when Smethels. He had been a good friend to the Turners and Sarah enjoyed talked to him. Hello old friend. Sarah heard another voice that she didn't recognize and looked back the doorman to see who it belonged to. Standing closely behind Smethels was a man she hadn't seen before. He looked a little older than herself, but not by much. He was handsome and she regretted not meeting him before. He politely bowed and she curtsied back. Good evening. It is nice to meet you Joseph. My name is Sarah Fleming, I'm also a friend of the Turners. Sarah handed him her cloak. I have not seen you around. Have you recently moved to Port Royale? Sarah could feel her cheeks flushing, but she hoped Joseph would just think it was because of the cold.

As Joseph was handed the cloak, his regular charm kicked in and replaced the speechless man who had been distracted by the lady before him. The younger Carver brother was quite the charmer, and while he had many lady friends, he’d never felt any connection with them. That’s all they were: simply friends, and nothing more. Sarah, however, seemed...different..and they’d only just met.
He placed the cloak on the coat hanger to the left of them. Spinning around and gently taking hold of her hand, he bowed once more and kissed it lightly, bringing his blue eyes to meet hers. Parting his lips from her hand so he could speak, he held his bowed position and hold upon her hand.
“Sarah, a beautiful name.”

Elizabeth glanced out the window when Joseph had excused himself from her. Something troubled her about her father. When Mattie came in, she kissed James upon the head and handed her little one to her.
“He’s ready for some sleep, Mattie. If you could bring him up for me so I won’t-“
‘I’ll do jus’ that miss.’
“Thank you, Mattie.”
Standing, she brushed her hand through her son’s hair one last time as his sleepy eyes began to close. Taking the empty dishes to the kitchen to help out, she wondered what was taking Will and Joseph so long at the front door. Dinner was already ready. Deciding to check on things, Elizabeth made her way into the main hall, only to find Joseph and her close friend, Sarah, seemingly....introducing themselves.
“Well, I guess I won’t have to introduce the two of you!”
Raising a brow, she looked to Sarah and gave her a curious expression as to ask what was going on. Looking back to Joseph, she shook her head and laughed.
“Joseph Carver, you stay away from Sarah. She’s not to be led astray by your silly charms.”
Smiling, Elizabeth glanced back when one of the servants cleared his throat.
‘Dinner is ready, mad’m.’
“Oh yes, that’s right. Sarah, you must join us for dinner. I’ve got some interesting news to share with you! And Joseph, you’ll be staying as well, won’t you?”

Upon hearing Elizabeth’s voice, Joseph glanced back towards the direction it came from. Straightening himself and releasing the hand he once gently held, he glanced down at the floor as he was teasingly scolded by Will’s wife.
“Yes, we’ve already made acquaintances. I’m suprised I’ve never met Lady Sarah before. But it’s true; I’ve recently returned from trips abroad, Lady Sarah, in search of...some family information. I actually made a stop here to report my arrival, as well as remind the Turners how much I’ll be annoying them now that I’m taking up residence nearby. Perhaps now that I’m home, I’ll be able to...see you more often?”
He smiled softly, but the mention of dinner brought him once again to his senses.
“Join you? Well, I’d hate to be intruding...”
He gave Sarah a questioning glance, as if to ask without words whether she wished him to be there, or not.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Michael heard a recognizable voice from somewhere in the room. Turning in the direction of the voice, he was somewhat relieved to see Tasha had made it. However, there was also the remorse that it wasn’t Selina who stood before him now. Being that Carver didn’t smile much, he slightly did enough to show he was pleased in seeing her safe. He was rather defensive when it came to the crew he was with. Well, really, Avery, Selina, and Tasha were the only connections he would let himself have. Barbossa was simply a matter of respect.
“Tasha...you’re alive....are you hurt? Is everything well?”
As you can remember, Michael was a hardcore bloodthirsty piratical killing assassin like machine, but he was also raised properly. He therefore spoke as so. Looking her over to assure her safety, he drew close to her in a protective manner, glaring down any man that was looking the pirate woman over in an unacceptable way.
“Come on....we need to get out of here. While I’d love killing every single pathetic excuse of the living in here, I think I heard talk of our old Captain here..come with me.”
He didn’t ask, but command. He didn’t wait, he led on. Walking straight out the door, his pace was set, and his eyes scanned the area for a sign of Barbossa. Pausing, he grabbed someone running by the throat and dragged them up against a wall.
“Seen Captain Barbossa in these parts?”
‘Errr yeah..he’s a, he’s a went tha- way, please, I don’t do nuthin!”
“Sure you haven’t...”
Slamming the man against the wall and throwing him on the floor, he looked back at Tasha and gestured her onward. Finally they turned around a corner, and Michael thought he saw something...was that...
“Avery...?”
He whispered it at first, hoping Selina would be somewhere near.
“AVERY?”
Sarah was quite speechless after Joseph told her her name was beautiful. He was very bold, but she liked him. She was glad she had stayed home with Elizabeth. She was brought back by Elizabeth's voice.
She looked up to see her good friend standing on the stairs looking down at her and Joseph. Sarah blushed deeper. She withdrew her hand from Joseph's grasp the same time he let go of her hand. Liz! How's James doing? And Will? Dinner would be lovely!
Joseph turned around the Sarah tried to mouth 'Is he a pirate?' to Elizabeth, but Joseph turned around to fast for Sarah to catch Elizabeth's answer. Joseph was looking at Sarah as if he wanted to know if eating dinner with the Turners was ok. Yes Joseph, will you please join us for dinner?
Tasha was glad Michael was protecting of her. She kind of felt as if Michael was her older brother, it was nice. She would have happily fought any of the pirates on her own, but she was still slightly out of it and knew she needed Michael's protection. I haven't seen Selina. I'm sorry. But I'm sure she's ok. We'll find her. Tasha roughly patted Michael's arm. She could tell he was worried about Selina, and she knew how it felt, she felt the same way about Avery.
Michael asked someone about Barbossa and they said they had seen him. But Tasha doubted it, they were probably afraid Michael would kill them if they gave him bad news. They moved out onto the street, when someone pushed her, she turned around to see who it was when she heard Michael say 'Avery'.
Tasha quickly turned around and saw Avery nearby. He moved to greet her and Michael. And Tasha quietly said his name. She then ran to him and give him a hug. Avery. You're ok. I'm so...how did you...have you seen anymore of the crew? I was so worried.
