~Bossa~
::Barbossa hissed suddenly as cool steel met the flesh of his arm. He lowered it to his side, aware of the red blood dripping from his fingers to the floor, and slipped past Christiana's thin body::
"S'rry ta disappoint ye, lass... But it'll take more th'n a cheap whore like yerself ta kill Cap'n Barbossa..." ::He smirked darkly, grabbing a lamp from nearby to shield himself:: "Don't get me wrong, though.... Yeh must 'ave some skill ta get this far."
::He gripped the lamp in his uninjured hand, scowling slightly at her as he moved slowly back toward the door::

Barbossa's words stung Christiana, but she tried not to show how much as she moved between him and the door."I'm not a whore!"She shouted, visibly upset."Don't even think about calling me that again!"She gave her knife a slight flick, removing some of the blood as she glared up at the man.
"Perhaps I don't feel quite so bad about having to kill you anymore,"she spat, using spite to cover up her hurt feelings.Feelings weakened you,it was best to pretend they weren't there...
...Right?
She shook her head abruptly. Now was not the time to be thinking about things like this! She charged at him again, trying to knock the lamp away.

::Barbossa snarled, throwing the lamp up to block the knife again:: "Whore 'r not... yer not gettin' the best o' me!" ::Slipping under her arm, he made another rush for the door. He tossed the lamp down toward her feet, hoping to at least slow her down::
::Even if she'd decieved him... Even if she'd tried to kill him.... He couldn't fight back. What was happening to him? He'd never hesitated before to kill a woman or child, so why was he simply running away now? No matter. All he had time to think about now was getting out of here before Christiana could strike a fatal blow::

Barbossa blocked with the lamp again, drawing a soft curse from Christiana as he hit her in the hand. Her knife went flying, and she gulped. She had a sword, but it was upstairs. She would have to get around him to get it,and that would give him time to escape...or give her time to change her mind, already too much of a threat.
Christiana's mind raced as she stood between Barbossa and the door, her resolve wavering even more than it had already. She was unarmed, and no match for him physically. Her mental strength seemed to be deserting her,as well. What should she do?

(OOC - Is anyone else still here? Emma and I have been the only ones posting for the past couple days now...)
~Bossa~
::Barbossa grinned darkly as Christiana's knife flew from her hand, landing on the wood floor several feet away from them. He looked back up at her as he took a step forward, twirling the lamp threateningly::
"Well, lass.... Tha' leaves me with no escape, an' ye with no weapon...." ::He narrowed his eyes a bit:: "Move aside, an' I'll let ye live."
::Barbossa was growing desperate now. The pain in his arm was beginning to cloud his vision, and he knew he had to bind it soon before he lost too much more blood::

Emma laughed softly at Evelyn's observation;the lass obviously knew her too well."Aye,well,if one's gonna be playin' drinkin' games, they may's well get a challenge out of it,right?"she teased, tapping her fingers idly on the table. She'd gone all day without rum,and really couldn't wait for the contest to get underway.
Her head tilted slightly at her companion's remark about islands.Really, the redhead enjoyed her visits to islands, assuming they were only visits. In the long term, she prefered to be out at sea, without the limitations society imposed on her regularly. Not that she ever obeyed them, but it did get a bit irritating, everyone either trying to change her or arrest her...
"Well,we won' be 'ere long,"she said cheerfully."Never are...So we might as well enjoy it,aye?Me,I like the chaos in 'ere...an' if ye know 'ow,it's easier to hide with lots of people around..."

Christiana bit her lip softly, hazel eyes pleading with Barbossa."I...I can't do that."She sighed, closing her eyes for a moment-not quite long enough for him to strike.
"If I break my contract-that is,if I don't kill you-I don't know what my employer will do.Odds are,one way or another,I'll wind up dead or wishing I were.But...you...you can help me.I don't want to kill you...and I don't want to do this anymore...."She gazed up at him, venturing a step closer."Get me out of here.I'll...You're a captain, right?I'll work for you...I'll do anything you want...I swear,"she said softly, looking up at him.Though her words were sincere, she cursed herself for them.
Weak...you're always so weak! She shook her head, trying to rid herself of such thoughts. Not wanting to live in the shadows was not weakness. And certainly piracy was no less risky than her current profession...
"Please..."

(OOC - *Grins and pokes Tobbs* It'll get even better later... *laughs*)
~Bossa~
::Startled by Christiana's sudden plea, Barbossa let the weapon in his hand drop slightly to the floor. Had he heard her correctly?::
::The look in her eyes -- a look of sincere fear and desperation -- told him she had, in fact, just asked for his help. A smirk came to his lips then:: "An' why should I save ye, lass? What exactly d' I gain from bringin' me assassin aboard me ship?"
::His wicked smile faded quickly as he continued to stare into her deep eyes. Once again, he felt willing to trust her despite everything he'd learned during his life of piracy. Besides, he needed to act soon if he was to care for his arm. With a sigh, he reached out to put a gentle hand on her cheek::
"...Fine.... Ye c'n come with me. But th' second ye try ta turn on me again, I won' 'estitate ta kill ye. D'ye understand, Christiana?" ::He stared at her for a moment, cursing himself silently for his sudden streak of compassion for this woman....:::

((OOC: There Tobbsy, did my part now you do yours and get in that pub and drunk already!!!! lol. I've got about two weeks left all so let's get this show on the road. :-D And Bossa and Christiana...*blinks and coughs* Having a bit too much fun...wonder why....? :-P))
The ship lurched forward through the bleak weather like a ghost ship. The Commodore stood proudly at the stern of the ship, staring ahead. It was a bit difficult, but the soft glow of light ahead loomed through the mist signaling their arrival. Tortuga was a vast, isle, mostly wrought of pure rock. Perfect for pirates to hide upon really. The rugged terrain and uneasy waters accompanied with an unpredicatble weather could hinder most attacks prepared on the isle and its inhabitants.
This was definately not the place for the British Naval Forces.
In fact, the King George had made it quite clear in fact, that he did not wish to see any attacks upon the island itself without his approval and for this reason alone the Commodore was slightly at an unease. However, the Commodore believed this time he simply must do what he is planning, there was no other way around it.
There were thudding boots that resounded closer and turning his head slightly the right his eyes fixated upon the floor. "We're here. Took longer than I would have expected." The Commodore stated returning his gaze to peer ahead through the ghostly mists. "Yes, well the weather was not exactly helpful." Mr. Perry commented. The Commodore stood quite sternly, this evening he was dressed in his somewhat rugged yet fine long coat with gold embroidery. His boots glinted an oily black, and his hat sat proudly upon his head.
"I shall be leaving Governor Swann and Crighton in charge during our time off the ship." He began mostly to simply remind himself of the procedures that were to be followed to pull this entire escapade off. "Are you certain we will need to open fire on the island?" Mr. Perry queried with slight concern in his tone. "Perhaps we can simply slink away undetected...Sparrow will find out eventually that something had gone awry upon his ship and..." "Yes, true, but I believe this island's had far too much peace. To simply test the waters, persay, a few good canon blasts should disturb the carefree spirit around here." The Commodore almost muttered with a slight growl.
Nearing the island, Perry could see the narrowing of the eyes that was now taking place and he exhaled heavily. "Leave them with a parting gift, Commodore?" Perry suggested, smirking slightly. "Yes...my thoughts exactly." The Commodore confirmed with a sneer. "Now...let us get this underway, shall we?" He said briskly, smacking his hand upon Perry's arm and then walking towards the main mast to announce the beginning of it all.
"Prepare my vessel...I shall be heading towards the docks now!"
Looking ahead he could discern the black sails, the large ship, and the Commodore couldn't help but smile........

A smile came to Christiana's lips, lighting up her eyes."Of course," she said."And I wouldn't hold it against you, either. But I promise...I won't give you reason to regret this decision. You have my word."
Again she drew near to him,a light blush tinting her cheeks as she took his hand in both of hers."Thank you,"she whispered.

( -Jack dahling sorry NPCed ya a tiddlytad *huggles apologetically*)
The expression in her eyes were genuine and sincere, soft and slightly worried. She bit her lip as she looked at her captain. A subtle smile framed her lips. And without any more hesitation, Tobbs spoke up on the reasons a shadow of day and nightmares had slipped into her mind.
“Alrigh’....Jack....it seems like, ever since we landed on Tortuga, something’s gone...wrong. Something I’ve known from before, or someone I’ve met in the past, or something is different. And I don’t know what. And it’s driving me mad, and I can’t stop it, and-“
She was stopped in the middle of her words and another sigh escaped her lips. She was growing a bit chilled, and instinctively she drew closer to Jack’s side. Little stray strands of wet hair were pushed behind her ear once more.
“I told ya it wasn’t anythin’ big, just been...”revisitin’” the past I’d suppose you’d say. But don’t worry, I’ve got my captain, and I’ve got my crew, and soon enough, I’m plenty sure I’ll be gettin’ my ‘ands on some rum.”
Still unsure her little jokes were turning both their thoughts off the topic, she slipped her hand into his and held herself in another hug with him, brushing her lips across his before pulling back and swimming towards shore. She kept her hold on him, somewhat tugging him until they reached the sand.
When they arrived, she tried her best on squeezing the water out from her clothing and hair before shrugging once more. Laughing a bit, Tobbs stretched and felt much better now that she’d addressed Jack on the issue.
“Alright, the Gold Mermaid’s what-a foot or two away? Maybe more...but that’s not the bloody point! It’s about that time where we see Tobbs completely satisfied with ‘er rum intake. Shall we?”
And with that, she gestured towards the door and the two walked into the tavern looking rather wet and seemingly pleased with their surroundings.

(OOC - *Pots Evy* dontcha know it ^_^)
~Bossa~
::Barbossa felt a slightly smile creep onto his lips as Christiana hugged him, then shook it off and took a step back:: "Well then... I s'ppose we ought ta head back ta me ship fer th' night. I'll look fer a crew in th' mornin'."
::He started to reach for the girl's hand, then suddenly stopped himself. It was his desire to be close to her that had caused him to drop his guard the first time, and he wasn't about to allow it to happen again. Instead, he set the lamp stand back on the table and made a move for the door::
"I wan' ye in me sight at all times. An' drop any other weapons ye 'ave...." ::He grinned suddenly:: "Unless ye'd prefer I search ye meself....?"

Evelyn kept her feet firmly propped upon the table, that is until a rather violent bump came upon it. " 'Ey! Would ya bloody watch where yer figthin'?" Evelyn barked as her rum spilled onto the rough oak beneath her. Staring them down with a fiery glare, she simply sighed, and turned back to Emma. "Yeah...chaos I s'ppose is good. You, of anyone, should know that." She suggested with a slight wink.
It was then that a gust of a bitter cold came ravaging through the tavern, causing Evelyn to look up. "Well if it isn' the Cap'n o' rum himself." Evelyn announced noting as they made their way in. Looking them both over curiously, she furrowed her brows. "Where in the bloody 'ell 'appened to you two?" she queried. They were clearly drenched from head to foot.
"But then again...knowin' you two...ye've probably got some strange story as ta what got ya the way ya are an' quite honestly, 'm only in the mood fer a bit of a drink." She smirked, putting her feet down, and standing. "If ya don't mind, I'll go 'head and order us all a round of rum, and get this contest goin'. Still up for it, right Tobbsy?"

Tobbs grinned slightly at the announcement Evelyn gave, as well as her words of both greeting and curiosity. She simply glanced up at the captain and narrowed her eyes.
“Let’s jus’ say wherever we go next won’t be such a pleasant time sailin’ as before...Tobbs ‘as some gettin’ back ta do.”
Her grin changed into a challenging smile. She took her eyes off of Jack and crossed her arms.
“Still up fer it? O’ course I bloody am! I’ve only been tearin’ across Tortuga with the cap’n so I could find some place for us all ta reuse the ole phrase “bottoms up” to a new extreme...like I always say mate: sticks and stones can (possibly, but highly unlikely being that I'd 'ave broken their own by the time they got close enough....) break my bones, but rum will never ‘urt me! Or was that someone else?”
Thinking while she drew a chair in for herself, and gesturing Jack towards one beside her, she gave a little wave to Emma now that she noted the woman’s presence.
“I almost missed seeing you were ‘ere! ‘Ello Emma! Let me tell ya, I’m dying to get meself passed out tonight. I’ve ‘eld off rum for awhile now. No clue why. But tonight, I told meself, why ‘old off when I’m in Tortuga, for bloody sake? Isn’ tha’ right?”
