(Muahaha!A third long-term charry for Emma!)
Christiana O'Riley watched the man enter the bar and smiled. There was no doubt about it,he was the one she was looking for.
Morgan Barbossa.
All she knew about him was that her client wanted his head on a platter. It wasn't really unusual;everyone on this island had some kind of price on their head, either put there by the Navy or by other pirates.Either way,it didn't matter. This was, after all,business...
Christiana was nineteen years old, slightly taller than most women, and quite skinny. Her red bodice was laced tight over a short-sleeved chemise, and she wore a beaded shawl wrapped around her waist.Long, blonde hair flowed over her shoulders and down her back like a river of gold. She was beautiful, and she knew it.
"Captain Barbossa,I assume?"She asked softly as she entered the pub, hips swaying subtly as she walked. She poured all of her charm into a smile, feeling the weight of the knife concealed on her belt.

::Barbossa, caught off guard slightly by the use of his real name -- and on the sweet tongue of a woman, no less -- glanced cautiously out from under the rim of his hat. What he saw literally took his breath away::
::The most beautiful girl he'd ever laid eyes on stood before him, her pale face half hidden behind locks of shimmering gold hair. And, he noted with surprise, she was smiling....at him::
"C...can I, uh, help ye, lass?" ::he managed to stammer, still unable to tear his gaze away from the enchantress::[/i]

Christiana brushed her hair back behind her ear, still smiling at the older man.He wasn't bad, really, for the age he was rumored to be...pity he had to die.
"Oh...I'm sorry,I didn't mean to presume. You don't even know my name yet,"she said, leaning against the table beside him."I'm Christiana.I've seen you around here before...not recently,though..."A slight blush came to her pale cheeks as she realized she was babbling.Pathetic! What was wrong with her? This was just another job...She shifted her weight slightly, trying to wind up the thought."I've never really talked to you before...I-I was wondering when you were going to come back. That is,I-I thought maybe we might...get to know each other..."
Maidenly innocence, she told herself, averting her hazel eyes and adjusting her skirts nervously. She glanced back up at him timidly, gaguing his reaction to see if she needed to change tactics.

(OOC - I should probably start posting the name of the character I'm currently playing before each post, neh? 'Cause I ish easily confused ) ~D'Argo~::The mysterious skull still sat atop D'Argo's desk, watching the pirate captain closely as he paced around the room. Occasionally he would pause to study one of the many maps lining his wall, then mutter something to himself and resume his rug-long trek::
::In actuality, William D'Argo was busy planning his next move. Since they'd left the shores of that desolate -- and disappointing -- island, he had locked himself in his cabin while he tried to decipher the importance of the solitary skull. He'd come to only one conclusion.... he needed help. Unfortunately, he had more enemies than friends in the Caribbean, which made finding that help a bit harder than one might expect::
::He finally decided after hours of deliberation that the safest destination would be the port city of Tortuga. At least there he wouldn't be the only man with a price on his head.... Besides, the taverns there were often home to rather strange tales. There was a good chance he could learn something of the Queen's Treasure::

::Barbossa blinked slightly, regaining enough composure to reach out and take the woman's hand:: " 'S a pleasure, Miss Christiana...," ::he smiled, kissing her knuckles lightly:: "Though... I'm curious. Why is it such a fine lass 's yerself's taken an interest in someone like me?"
::His voice was gentle enough, but he wasn't entirely sure he trusted this beauty. He knew all too well that enemies often belied their true intent with a disarming appearance, and he wasn't about to succumb to such a trap::
::Still smiling, he continued to hold her hand as he waited for her response, allowing her the advantage of explaining herself before he acted. After all, if she WAS trustworthy.... well, he wouldn't wanted to ruin what he hoped could be a very interesting night...::

Christiana reddened the slightest bit as Barbossa kissed her hand. Why did she feel butterflies when he did that?Surely far more attractive men had treated her in this manner...
"W-Well...I've heard so many stories about you...I've lived in Tortuga my whole life, you see...and I wanted to meet you.You just seem...fascinating...I can't describe how,precisely..."
Why did her mind keep branching off?Focus, dammit! She couldn't afford to feel things like this,it was bad for business!Though admittedly,it made the talking part somewhat more believable...it wasn't as hard when you weren't,technically,lying...

::Barbossa studied Christiana's eyes for a moment, searching for any hint of untruth behind her words, before smiling and offering her a chair next to him: "Well then... when ye put it tha' way, I'd 'ave ta be mad t' turn ye away. 'Ere, 'ave a seat, lass."
::Having already forgotten his mission at the pub, Barbossa tilted his hat back to get a better look at his new companion. She really was beautiful... Perhaps a little smaller chest-wise than most women in Tortuga, but what she lacked there she made up for with her smile. The pirate captian allowed himself to get lost in her eyes for a moment, before clearing his throat::
"R-right, so... Christiana.... what exactly did ye 'ave in mind fer 'gettin' ta know each other'?" ::He grinned slightly, brushing a few strands of hair out of her face::

Evelyn continued blotting at her bloody nose as she sat there. It seemed it was becoming more and more difficult for her to keep her eyes focused. They repeatedly went in and out of focus and she quickly glanced around for a napkin of sorts. "Bloody nose..." she muttered as Emma spoke. "An' contest? Might enter it anyway, not like I'd beat ya anytime soon anyway Em. And besides...I know why ya want me in it." She said with a bit of a playful tone and lowering her voice.
"I can go a long way in that drinkin' game an' ya want all the rum ya can get, is tha' right?" she asked, lifting a brow at her, smirk in place. She wiped at her nose then and noticed it wasn't bleeding as much as it had been, but her nose was still quite red and a bit swollen. Laughter erupted from somewhere in the back of the tavern and Eve rolled her eyes.
She was beginning to remember why she hated taverns and pubs like this; far too many people in one place. "I hope I run inta Tobbs soon. She was the one ready ta go for a bit of a contest an' quite frankly, if I don' do it now then I really won' be able ta compete." She muttered, glancing into the bottom of her dingy, tin, mug. There was no sense in getting into a drinking contest really if she already had a few swirling in her. Besides, she had a bit of a reputation to keep up really. Evelyn was at the moment the only one to be within a few drinks away from Emma...a few being around 5 or so. It was the closest any of them ever got and Eve was planning on continuing that legacy.
Leaning back in her chair, she propped her thick soled boots upon the table. "Hate bloody islands...too many people, not 'nough places ta run." She mumbled almost to herself, glancing again up at the wooden ceiling and closing her eyes hoping for a bit of rest from the world swirling in bright colors around her.

Christiana's head turned instinctively towards Barbossa's palm as he brushed her hair back. His hands were large, and rough from the various tasks any sailor had to perform, but their touch was not altogether unpleasant...She looked up at him, hazel eyes glinting mischievously in the candlelight."Oh,I don't know...whatever you'd like, really,"she purred, holding his gaze."I have a house not far from here,or we could go someplace else,if you'd prefer...?"

::Barbossa smirked. Postponing his recruiting mission for the night didn't seem like such a bad idea, given the circumstances. Perhaps, if everything went as he hoped, he could even bring this charming beauty aboard his ship with him. After all... long sea voyages got rather lonely at times....::
::He drained the rest of his mug, then stood to help Christiana from her chair:: "I think yer house'll do just fine, love...." ::He smiled a bit slyly as he offered her his arm:: "That is, unless ye got a jealous boyfrien' waitin' there... I got enough bastards after me 'ead as it is." ::He winked, running another hand through her beautiful hair::

A delicate laugh emitted from Christiana's soft lips as she took Barbossa's arm, snuggling comfortably against it."No,I live alone...It's this way, come on!"Smiling up at him again, she walked out into the Tortuga streets, the setting sun lending her hair a reddish tone and her eyes a brighter sparkle.
It really wasn't far to Christiana's home,a small stroke of luck for her.She really didn't feel like walking halfway across the island tonight...
The man who raised her,a retired pirate captain, had died when she was still really a child, but his home had remained a safe haven to her in the chaos of Tortuga. It was a nice little house, somewhat aside from the main venues of Tortuga.During the daytime,it could almost pass as quiet, something that was rarely said for any place in Tortuga.
She pulled a key from her bodice as they approached the cottage, unlocking the door."After you,"she offered, smiling up at Barbossa again.

::Barbossa held Christiana gently as they walked through the streets, a slight change beginning to affect his mood. While he'd been quite eager to accompany the young vixen back to her home before they'd left the tavern, he was starting to find that he was simply enjoying just being with her. An odd feeling, to be sure... one he'd not felt since....::
::The brilliant red glow reflected off Chris' golden hair distracted him from his reverie. He found himself staring at her as he followed her to her home, a gentle smile spreading over his lips. She was incredible....::
::To both his disappointment and great pleasure, they arrived at Christiana's house rather quickly. Barbossa bowed as he stepped through the door, then turned back to slip and arm around her waist as she entered as well::
"..Nice 'ouse ye got 'ere... Ye say ye live alone?" ::He grinned again as he twirled a finger in her hair, pulling her closer::

She nodded, closing the door behind her."Yes...my mother abandoned me when I was an infant, and an old pirate took me in.He never had any children,at least not any that could be traced to him...so he adopted me as his daughter and when he died, his estate became mine."
A soft sigh escaped Christiana's lips as she allowed Barbossa to hold her against him. This was going to be more difficult than she had imagined.Perhaps she should go back to picking pockets,or be a barmaid or something...but she couldn't back out of a job now.Clients in Tortuga were notorious for...eliminating people who broke contract.Or worse...
"I've lived here alone since I was a child,"she said quietly, resting one hand on the older man's shoulder, her other hand slipping subtly behind her back."And...I forsee no change to that in the future."Tentatively, she pressed a chaste kiss to his lips."I'm sorry,"she whispered, genuine regret shining from her hazel eyes."But I have to take care of myself...and this is the only way I know how."
There was a soft sound of metal sliding against leather as she drew her knife, and raised it to strike.

::Barbossa smiled against Christiana's lips, pulling her closer against his chest as he slid one hand up along her leg. However, as he neared her waist, he heard the all-too familiar scrape of metal against metal as a knife was drawn nearby. He took a step back::
"C...Christiana...!" ::he hissed as the small dagger was revealed in her hand:: "Ye lyin' whore...! How dare ye!" ::He growled angrily as the knife was raised in the air, then jumped back to avoid it's sting. Automatically, his hand slipped to his belt for his pistol, and only too late did he remember it was no longer there. He'd traded it off as part of the deal to acquire his new ship::
"S'n ofa...!" ::He stumbled backward against the wall, raising his arm to block Christiana's next blow::

Christiana frowned, but didn't say anything as her first blow missed.Barbossa jumped away from her,and she tried again-this time, she hit flesh. This time a quiet curse escaped her,as she realized she had only hit his arm.
"Dammit..."She growled, readjusting her grip on the hilt."You're making this harder than it has to be!"
