A year has passed since the events concerning the gods of Greece. Since then Jack and the crew’s lives had been quite uneventful, well as uneventful as a pirate life can get that is. With a few new crew members, Jack has sailed his crew to hell and back, pillaging, plundering, and gaining quite the notorious reputation. However, one not so scheduled trip to England, and to Evelyn’s home town, has brought about a new treasure to seek, a new endeavor, and possibly the next great adventure for Jack Sparrow and those aboard the Black Pearl.
A map has been found, once believed to be lost to the infernos of a previous pirate raid. A map revealing the location of a treasure TOO good to pass up, despite the warnings of a curse within it, an entire city of gold is a bit hard to pass up. With the map both in Evelyn’s trusted memory, and in Jack’s hand his crew are ready to go to hell, quite literally, and back for a piece of this city of gold.
Meanwhile, Barbossa hasn’t missed a beat, and although he was beaten to the ultimate relic last time, this time it is HE who has the upper hand. Although Jack and crew know about the treasure, they remain oblivious to the true power resting there, the Dagger of Curunin, an ancient dagger that posses the power to send those it kills to the Underworld, a hellish purgatory until the ending of the world. Barbossa’s thirst for vengeance is all but insatiable, and it is for THIS reason Bossa also makes for Central America, hoping through simply wandering about he too can find this city of Gold and the dagger which would finally give Jack Sparrow his due.
When Barbossa finds Jack Sparrow also in the jungles however and learns of Evelyn’s knowledge as to the location of the gold he concocts an evil plan that would not only give him the way to the City of Gold, but also an edge in the never ending battle between Barbossa’s crew and Jack’s. It’s a scramble and tangle to riches and relics…with not only eachother to compete with, but also the jungles themselves who also have threats within them that neither crew has even begun to prepare for…

Evelyn looked about deck curiously, giving a smirk to Eric as he joined her but then her honeyed eyes landed on Tobbs. She seemed a bit penseive at the moment and normally, Eve would leave her to her thoughts, but today she was a feeling a bit MORE mischivious than usual, if that was possible that is. She gave a smirk at Eric and then parted from him saying softly, "Let's see what's goin' on in Miss Brighton's head, shall we?" she said as she lifted a brow.
"Tobbs mate! How've ye been, I see ye've survived the storm." She told her as she gave her a firm slap on the back. "I don' think were too far from land now, at least I hope not..." Evelyn said with a bit of a anxious tone. She had not forgotten the treasure the crew was after. "I mean, a whole city o' bloody gold CAN make one a bit anxious ta find it, can' it?" she asked Tobbs nudging her a bit.
She looked to Eric, "An' what are YOU standin' 'round fer?" She said with a laugh as she gave him a poke. "I swear, this one's worse than a mutt really, he'll follow ye 'round ta no end." Eve told Tobbs conversationally, while shooting Eric a small smirk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luis had taken to sleeping the night away in his room, not even wanting to try and assist the rest of the crew up on deck. Instead he took to examining the necklace he had confiscated. His eyes passed over the small pendant, the ship, the heart shaped ruby, this was obviously given to Eve by someone dear. Perhaps by someone she had wanted to forget, thus the sewing of it into her pillow. Although it seemed a bit TOO hard for her to give it up.
He gave a deep sigh and dressed, brushing back his dark, greasy, hair into a low ponytail. He tossed on his wrinkled shirt, brown trousers, shoved on his boots. As he looked at himself in the mirror, he gave a sly smile and spoke to himself. "Today, is the day. You WILL have the information you seek, and then you can leave this God forsaken ship. Perhaps a bit of revenge on the crew would be just as well. If he could, he would take Jack Sparrow and any of his crew down.
Stepping out of his cabin, he carefully closed his door and made to go up on deck. He would start the day early, the sooner he had what he needed, the sooner he could leave. Luis was getting QUITE tired of this whole pirate life, it simply disgusted him really...they all did, but he had been trying VERY hard to hide it. Although he doubted he could keep it in for too long now.
*Will stepped aside as Roux gathered the various items and began to use them on the young girl. He watched curiously, hoping the man could at least make her more comfortable if not better. It bothered him he didn't know what was wrong with her and he didn't know why but he felt the need to watch over her. Protect her.
As Roux spoke Will nodded, glancing over at Sarah as he kneeled back down beside the young girls bed again. He pulled a chair up beside her bed and sat there, at first not noticing his wifes arrival until she slipped her arm through his and spoke.* Im not sure, she's ill. Apparently having nightmares. *Will said thoughtfully, still wondering what she had meant when she said she'd remembered something.
He glanced over at Sarah again and noticed that she was crying. She had also been a soft hearted woman and he smiled a little.* No need to cry Sarah, I'm sure she'll be fine. *Will said assuringly. His gaze went back to Maria and he stroked her forehead. For a fleeting moment a memory swarmed about his mind. Him holding the hand of a young girl but it had dissapeared just as quickly as it had come.*
*Eric raised a brow as Evelyn mentioned seeing what Tobbs was up to and then he grinned a little as he followed her, shoving his hands in his pockets as he often did. As she mentioned not being too far from land his dark eyes went out to the horizon, following the line from right to left as if he already expected to see the shores of the Americas ahead of him.
A moment later she was speaking to him again and he grinned mischeviously.* I follow you around? You're the one who woke up in my cabin this moring. *He laughed, rolling his eyes a little. He knew she was right, he did follow her around quite a bit but he wasn't going to let her off the hook so easily.
He glanced about the deck again, noticing that his friend Will was no where to be seen. He wondered if the guy had slept in, or was perhaps below deck somewhere with Elizabeth. With a shrug he looked at Evelyn and grinned.* I suppose I'll go make myself useful now, although I know deep down insde you'll absolutley hate being parted from me. *He said, throwing his arm over her shoulder again. He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and parted, heading over to the riggings. He noticed Mark up in the crows nest and he raised a brow.* Hey Mark, could you give me a hand down here? Make yourself useful mate! *He called up to him.*
The gentle rocking of the boat, woke Rhys from her unconcious state. Blinking wearily, she looked around startled to find herself in a small stuffy cabin. It was bare except for a wooden chest at the end of the bunk she lay on. She could not for the life of her remember how she had made it into the room.
Suddenly, the walls closed in around her and her breathing became tight. She could not handle small unfamiliar places. She had done fine in the nooks and crannies in Port Royal, but they had all been familiar. They were a place to sleep in, a place where she could escape from everyone and hide away. Unfamiliar spaces brought back memories of times spent locked up or time spent waiting for the punishment her 'boss' was sure to give her. Even the slightest sound could make her jump out of her skin. Foot steps from those moving around on deck, were causing her to shudder at every movement. She had too many horrible memories of small dark places.
Now, she was sick, in a strange tight spot and the rocking of the boat was getting to her empty stomach. Leaving the mystery of her arrival in the room for later, Rhys stood up on wobbly legs. Half running and half stumbling in her rush to get out of the strange place, the theif pushed her cabin door open, marking it's location. She stumbled along almost blindly as she searched for a ladder to get on deck. Finally finding one, she stumbled up banging her head lightly in the process. A small stumble brought her to a halt against the rigging. Clinging to the black rope and wood for all she was worth, the woman managed to stay on her feet as her legs steadied and her breathing calmed.
Letting the wind brush through her hair, she felt the lick of the ocean spray as the Pearl drove through waves. It was beauty at it's greatest. The sun beating down on the ocean as it rose steadily higher in the sky. White puffy clouds dotted the sky, and a strong wind filled the sails pushing the boat along at a smooth pace. Rhys took a deep breath, content for the first time in many years. It was true, that her mind was still sick with worry for her brother and her body ached for food and water, but she was content.
Evelyn stood there looking out at the seas, her hands were clasped together and she furrowed her brows a bit, hoping to see that bit of land come up soon on the horizon. She wanted them to get to the America's soon. It was almost as if she was afraid someone else might get there first. She bit her nails a bit and then from behind she heard a voice.
"Morning, Evelyn. I hope you slept well, even if it WAS in HIS cabin." Luis said calmly but with a small hiss as he shot a look at Eric then turned back with a smile at Eve. "I hope you're alright? I was a bit worried after you came up from the waters last night, where it me who took you to your cabin, I would have immediately wrapped you in warm blankets really. I know what its like to be sick at sea, its not a good thing." He said with a small smile.
His eyes danced over her face. "I've always had some concern for you Eve." He told her softly. "Actually Evelyn..." Luis began as he looked over his shoulder at the crew and Tobbs and then lowered his voice. "Would you mind if I had a word with you privately, its about an important matter." He told her sternly, hoping she would catch the firm resolve he had behind his words.
Eve gave him a reluctant smile and then gave him a small nod. She couldn't help but feel he might have something REALLY important to say. She feared he might even ask about her and Eric, Luis HAD been a bit pushy with Eve as of late, and seemed to have stuck close to her. When she had followed him below decks a bit he stopped her and suggested they go into his cabin but Eve firmly refused. Something felt a BIT fishy about all this.
"No mate, ye can say whatever ye want here, no one will bother us..." Eve told him while raising a curious brow.
"Right..." Luis began with a sigh. He was rushing this a bit, he knew, but he couldn't help it. He needed information now. He didnt' like being here, being watched, AND seeing Eve with Eric. Its not like he CARED for Eve at all really, but the man DID have a bit of jealousy towards them. Luis decided that Eve didn't deserve to be so happy when he wasn't. I mean, he was RIGHT, Eve was a dirty pirate...it wasn't right that his life wasn't what he wanted it to be and yet SHE seemed to be happy with hers...
"Anyway, Evelyn, listen..." he began softly with soft eyes and a calm voice. He was trying to put her at ease as much as he could. "I, I must admit, I regret ever leaving you..." he began cringing inside at his false words. "And I DO wish we COULD have perhaps...had another shot with eachother...because, honestly, I DO still care for you, that is why I sought you out." he began slowly. "Because...I know of a plan, Evelyn. I HEARD you have the map to El Dorado...is this true?" he asked her lfiting a brow.
Evelyn stepped back a bit as he spoke to her, her eyes softening at his words of wanting to be with her again, she could relate to wanting to be with someone and being afraid you missed your chance, but she crossed her arms all the same and looked at him a bit coldly. Somehwere inside she was screaming not to listen to a damned word he said. When he mentioned El Dorado she lifted a brow. "HOw did you know about this?" she asked him lifting a brow suspiciously. He then told her of how he had overheard of the raid of the map maker shop and how he had heard descriptions of the ones who took it.
"Just before I left the Spanish Navy, I heard that a pirate crew had taken hold of the map to El Dorado, there is a fleet, about four of them, Spanish Armada, headed after the Black Pearl, Evelyn." Luis stated, lying right through his teeth. "I wanted to warn you, and I wanted to ask where the map was? Is it in good hands? Is it hidden? We should take measures to protect it, perhaps I could keep it with me. The Spanish will never suspect one of their own..." he said slyly hoping to get something useful out of her.
Evelyn furrowed her brows at this information. "What? Bu' they can' possibly..." she muttered as she looked to the ground and paced in the hall a bit. As her honeyed eyes looked up at him, he asked for the map and she grew suspicious. "The map? Ye say ye wanna see it?" she asked him. With that she gave a short laugh and shook her head. "Don' worry 'bout it bein' safe mate..." she began. "I's all up here." She told him with a sly smile and touched her head lightly.
Then she turned on her heel. "I'll be headin' ta work then...YOU should do the bloody same." she growled a bit, her anger for Luis coming out a bit. She wasn't ABOUT to trust any info of the map with him. He MIGHT look as if he's changed, but she just couldn't trust him.
*Erics eyes trailed from Mark over towards Evelyn when he saw Luis approach her. His eyes narrowed and he watched the pair intently, wondering what words were being exchanged. His jaw clenched and he turned his head slightly to talk to Mark, those his eyes remained on the other two.* I'll be back in a second mate. *He said and slipped off after the two as they dissapeared below decks.
He made absolute sure he was hidden and silent as he listened to them. Luis' words about still caring for her angered him greatly. Eric knew they were fake and he hoped she would see that too. However it wasn't until she told the man the map was all in her head that he really worried for her. He cringed a little. Now that the man knew it was in Evelyns mind and not on paper what would he do to her?
Eric couldn't wait to find out. Somehow he had to get this guy as far from her as possible. Silently he slipped back out on deck and returned to his spot by Mark and the rigging, waiting for Luis to come up on deck and wander off by himself.*
Evelyn left his side and went up on deck again, looking to Eric she gave him a smile. "Good ta see yer at least TRYIN' ta stay away from me fer at least a few bloody seconds..." Eve said with a wink as she paused, placing a hand on his cheek and kissing him lightly. "I'll be off at the bow of the ship if ye need me." Eve said as a soft breeze blew through her curls, bringing up the sudden smell of salty water.
Luis shook his head angrily and made to pull Evelyn back to him when she reached deck too quickly. He cursed inwardly. What did she mean "Its all in here?" Did she mean she knew the location of the golden city then? Luis looked after her with a small sigh. He would need her now...he knew THIS much. Evelyn was a key part in this, he could sense it. Besides, he could have a bit of FUN if he had Eve all to himself really...
As she left he followed a minute after, heading attempting to head towards her casually.
*Eric smiled and grunted a little as she returned on deck and came over to him. He returned her kiss and nodded.* Glad to see you're making an effort too. *He said with a wink, watching her go as he returned to his work. However as he spun around to put a piece of rope in its proper place he caught sight of Luis making his way towards her.
Eric scowled and grinned deviously as he watched the man.* Not in this lifetime mate. *He mumbled to himself and glanced over at Mark.* I might be a moment. *He said, smacking the man on the shoulder. However he doubted the guy would care if he was there or not, he appeared to have pleanty on his mind to keep him distracted.
Eric trotted off, glancing around a little to make sure no one was really watching him, or Luis for that matter. It didn't seem that there were any eyes on either of them and so he followed him until he reached a side of the ship where few if any crew members were at and he called out to the man.* Hey Luis. I think it's time you and I had a bit of a chat. Just the two of us. *He called casually, grinning.*
Luis had headed away, trying to avoid Eric's eyes but it seemed the man paid more attention than he thought. As Eric called out to him he sighed heavily and turned around to face him. "A chat? Is that all? What's wrong Eric, now no one is allowed to speak to Evelyn then privately? Jealous, are you?" he asked him a bit loudly, hoping to draw attention to them. "Honestly Eric, enough is enough, stop causing SO much trouble will you?" Luis asked him with a sly smile.
HOpefully Eve would turn and witness this. Perhaps she would stop Eric from doing anything to him. Either that or he'd cause a serious rift to anything they could have at the moment. He stepped forwards towards Eric a bit. "Afraid she might possibly enjoy MY company more than yours?" he asked Eric in a low voice giving him a small shove. His eyes darted about Eric's angry face.
As Eve made her way to the bow she heard a few words from Luis suddenly and looked away toward them. Luis and Eric were facing eachother and she lifted a brow. "Now what the bloody 'ell?" she asked giving a heavy sigh and resorting to just watchin the two. Hopefully this time Eric would listen and wouldn't do anything rash. She continued to fiddle with a few loose knots as they got a bit closer. If she had to, she'd step in.
Eve had to admit, she wouldn't MIND Luis being tossed over really, but the more sane part of her knew an extra hand aboard wan't a bad thing, despite the slight tension he brought to the crew.
*Eric rolled his eyes as Luis' voice grew louder, it was obvious what the man was doing. He was trying to draw attention to the two of them. Eric simply folded his arms but the grin on his face remained.* Jealous of who...you? Not hardly. But suspcious of you yes. Im not an idiot Luis I know why you're here. *He stated, remaining in a calm tone. At this point he didn't care if attention was brought to them or not. Either way he'd carry out his plan.
He grunted a little at the next comment.* I don't cause the trouble Luis, I only end it. *He stated, eyeing the man. As the man approached him and shoved him Erics expression turned angry and his eyes flashed.* She didn't really seem that excited to be down there with you. And besides this isnt about her wanting you or me. Its about what you know about her. *He growled, returning the shove. He wasn't letting this idiot get away with anything this time. He didnt care what the crew thought of him when he finished, he just knew he had to keep this man away from Evelyn no matter what the cost to him.
He grabbed the man by the collar and shoved him into the railing.* You're time on this ship is up Luis. *He hissed and attempted to thrust him overboard.*
Sarah listened to Will and looked up at him after he was done. He seemed to be thinking about something, but then his fave relaxed again. Sarah frowned for a second, but then Maria stirred in her bed and Sarah looked back at her.
Luis narrowed his eyes at Eric and hissed. "MY time is over, you say?" Luis asked him angrily as he shoved Eric violently from him. He then spat towards him. "You deserve to have you due!" Luis stated as he pointed a finger firmly at Eric. He charged at Eric then, slamming him against the main mast. He gave Eric a punch across the face and growled a bit. Then pulling Eric up by his collar he gave him a sly grin. "I know plenty about Evelyn, probably things you WISH you knew. Like the smell of her hair in a dark room, or how she screams. Have you ever heard her cry out? Oh...the shivers she can send through a man's body..." He taunted Eric, not caring anymore. He got what he wanted, partially.
Luis eyes darted around and he noticed as the crew was finally turning and were noticing Luis' presence and his words. He LOATHED Eric at the moment, because he had something that he could never retrieve, forget that it was Evelyn, to him, it was simply something someone ELSE could have and he couldn't. Luis had always been brought up to have the everything and he knew he was a better man than Eric. He wouldn't let Eric end up happy when he couldn't be.
Evelyn had been leaning her arms on the edge of the Pearl when she heard a bit of a raucous and turned her honeyed eyes down towards the decks. She had been upon the poop decks, where the helm sat and as she noticed them skirmish she shook her head. "Bloody 'ell...can' ye two stay off eachother?" she called down at them as she began to make her way towards them.
*Eric stumbled backward as Luis shoved him and he bumped into a wall with a grunt. When the man spit at him he narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists. He made to charge but Luis had been quicker and threw him into the main mast, punching him across the face. Eric winced and brought a hand up to his now bleeding lip. His eyes locked on the mans as he spoke about Evelyn and Eric felt every muscle in his body tense up.* You bloody bastard. *He said in a firm, low voice.
It didnt matter to him what anyone said about him, but he cared a great deal what people said about Evelyn. His eyes shot up towards her as she yelled down to them, ready to make her way over. But by now his rage was boiling over and he knew if he didn't throw the man over before she got there he may not get the chance.* I'm not going to let you hurt her again, for any reason. *He growled and lashed out at the man, grabbing him and punching him hard across the jaw.
He stood there a moment eyeing the man and then lashed out at him again, this time charging him until they both slammed up against the ships railing. With a devilsh grin he spoke.* It was a pleasure knowing you, Luis. And just like last time...it'll be a pleasure getting rid of you. *And with that he punched the man with as much strength as he could muster up, causing Luis to loose his balance and flop over the railing into the water. Eric stood there, breathing heavily and glancing at the spot where the man fell with a satisfied look upon his face...even though he feared he'd catch hell for it.*
Evelyn rushed over quickly, wanting to stop the two before they did anything rash and then she stopped dead in her tracks as Eric punched Luis across the face hard, sending him flipping over the edge and crashing into the rushing waters below. She pushed past Eric and looked to the waters. "Luis?" she called after him lifting a brow. Somehow she didn't feel TOO upset over this really, the man HAD been a bit too nosy for his own good, but nonetheless Eric acted the way she had told him NOT to.
Turning on her heel she looked Eric over. "Ye bloody idiot...what d'ye have ta go an' do THAT for?" she asked him lifting a brow and crossing her arms. A soft breeze blew and the sails billowed. Eve's honeyed eyes stole towards the crow's nest, as if expecting Mark to give a call for land but none came and she turned back to him. "I SPECIFICALLY told ye NOT ta go an' do that. I mean I know the man wasn' all that great but..." She said heatedly as she clenched her fists and looked into the waters below. Turning back to Eric she shook her head and looked at his busted lip.
"I'm always the one havin' ta clean up the mess, aren' I?" she asked as she took the cuff of her sleeve and gently wiped the blood from his lip. She shook her head at him and narrowed her eyes. "GAH! Bloody 'ell Eric, ye didn' have ta toss the man overboard...he might've come in handy..." Evelyn sighed as she looked to the horizon. In the distance the calls of gulls could be heard and she smirked. They weren't TOO far off now.
