*Eric glanced at her with wide eyes and an ever so faint grin as she strictly told him never to attempt to take his life again and when she said that kind of thinking scared her he smiled. As she nudged him he nudged her back and his smile grew.* I dont have any reason to take it now. *He said, glancing at her with gentle eyes. As she began to call him a good man he looked down at the deck, shifting in his seat as his cheeks grew red. He wasn't used to compliments and frankly he wasn't sure how to take them. Eric wasn't even sure if he believed them but he knew that he wanted to, since they came from Evelyn. For some reason they just seemed to have more meaning coming from her. As she commented on him not holding himself back if someday that special someone came along he suddenly smiled brightly yet had no idea why. He felt his heart skip a beat as her hand found its way to his shoulder again and he gently placed his atop hers.* You're a good person to Evelyn. And dont you let anything hold you back either when you find someone who loves you. You deserve the greatest guy in the world you know. *He said and suddenly he felt a rush of affection for this woman. It was a feeling that had been foreign to him for so long that he wasn't even sure if it was real at first. He swallowed hard and glanced around. Had the two of them just had some kind of moment? Surely they didn't...they couldn't have.* Did we just...nah...never mind. *He said with a laugh, trying to shrug off the comment.* Still looking forward to Tortuga? *He asked to cover up his last comment and pretend he hadn't said anything.*

Evelyn stared as his hand met hers and he spoke. When he told her of the kind of men she deserved she shrugged. If he only knew...maybe he wouldn't think that way. She shook her head a bit and looked up at him. When he began to ask something Eve shook her head and came back to reality. He was going to ask if they had had a moment.
Evelyn smiled at him but it faded as he shook it off and she felt a bit of disappointment but smirked. "Tortuga! Yes...indeed. Should be gettin' there soon I 'ope. That way I could knock Ms Hawkins off of her comfortable platform." Evelyn told him with an arrogant grin. "Someone needs to. Jus' remember what I told ye." Eve told him giving him a teasing glare once again. "Y'know Eric when ye aren' so bloody arrogant ye can be very...tolerable." Evelyn teased him as she rubbed her hand in his hair messing it up a bit more.

*Eric laughed heartily as Evelyn said she was going to knock Emma off her platform. He glanced around a moment trying to find the lass and slowly his eyes found their way back to the lass at his side.* I would deffinantly like to see at least one of you get knocked off your platform. *He said with a wink. Then he laughed and ducked his head a bit as she roughed his hair up a bit more. He playfully smacked her hand away and brushed her curls behind her shoulder* Oh I'm tolerable now huh? Just tolerable? *He chuckled, giving her a wink. He studied her for a moment then he stood up and stretched.* You're not so bad yourself when you stop yelling at people. *He grinned.*
*Will watched Eric go off in search of Evelyn and he followed him quietly, listening for a breif while to the conversation between his friend and the girl and he grinned and shook his head. Then he heard the angry voice of Tobbs pierce the sky again and he raised a brow.* Between her and Evelyn I dont know who's worse! *He cried and trotted back to where the majority of the crew were situated. A surprised look came over his face as the woman continually threw hot words at Callisto and to Jack as well. Wills eyes went back out to the horizon and he drew in a deep breath.* Come on Tortuga you can't be much farther now. *He said, hoping that a break on the island might cool a few of the members down. He knew through expierience that it was harder than hell to man a ship with only a few people on board. He wasn't looking forward to having to do it again. As much of a thrill as he got out of fighting undead pirates, he didn't want to see Jacks entire crew or the strange guests turn on one another. He ran his fingers through his dark hair and looked around uneasily, his eyes finally resting on Jack.*

Evelyn widened her eyes as she backed off a bit. She let her mouth drop a bit and she grinned. "Really? Well yer the one followin' me everywhere." Evelyn said as she stood, looking at him as he stretched. Then she jabbed him in the stomach so as to knock the wind from him. When he bent over recovering the air she smirked. Then she pat the top of his head. "Good-boy." Evelyn teased as she walked past him quickly, knowing he'd be looking for retaliation.
"No ye know what, yer not so bad Eric. As long as ye stop pickin' fights with me constantly. " Evelyn called back at him over her shoulder, pulling a few curls behind her ear.

*Eric smiled and laughed slightly as she said he was the one following her everywhere. He was about to reply back when she suddenly jabbed him in the stomach in the middle of his stretch. He bent over quickly as he lost his breath and he coughed for a moment then glanced up slowly, still bent over as he took a deep breath. She patted the top of his head and rushed past him quickly. He rose slowly and watched her and when she shouted back to him he grunted and smirked.* I believe you were the one who came over and yelled at me when all I was doing was sitting on the barrel...and you were the one who punched me just now! *He said, rubbing his stomach. He was actually surprised at how strong the punch was. He'd hate to be at the receiving end of an angry one! He paused for a moment, pondering over whether or not to chase her and then he grinned.* You know with me being your spotter and all you had best be sucking up to me! *He said, a mischevious look on his face. He'd get her back but not right away. He wanted to make her fret about it a bit so he simply sat back down, feet propped up with his hands behind his head and he gazed out at the sea, humming an old song he had once heard in a pub.*

Evelyn passed him by but paused as he spoke. Her mouth dropped a bit in shock and she turned to face him. "I started yellin' at ye? An' that was hardly a punch. More of what I would call a playful jab." Then suddenly widened her eyes placing a hand on her hips and the other to her mouth as if she had had a revelation. "Oh, tha's right...yer a softie aren't ye?" Evelyn smirked.
"An' bein' my spotter is a damned privilege! I can always find another if you'd prefer..." *Eve shrugged as she thought about it for a moment. "Jack, well he's too busy...aha! I've go' it! Roux! My crewmate Roux would gladly spot me I think." Evelyn told him with a sly smirk. "He did stand up for me earlier on, ye know when you were bein' more of an ass than ye already are. He could spot me, carry me back to a safe place to sleep, quite handsome that one, and I think he'd probably be able ta handle any thug that came my way..." Evelyn told him churning these thoughts in his head.
"Actually if I'm right he's quite available." Evelyn stated with a laugh, knowing he was very much revolving around Linea at the moment, but simply to see Eric's reaction she brought this up.
Evelyn didn't know why, it was almost as if she were trying to see if Eric was a jealous man. He didn't seem the type, but she sort of hoped he was.....just so she could toy around with him a bit more. She stared at his gentle face for a long moment, she stood upon the deck taking a deep smell of the salty sea, and the wind began to blow. Evelyn looked up and around as her curls were tossed around her face and she noted as the sails beynd her billowed out. They would be picking up speed. A smile grew on her face and she pulled a wild curl or two behin her ears, tucking them back in place.
"Ye know I think I'll go ask him right now." She stated as she turned to leave Eric, mostly to see if he would stop her really, because for some reason she felt as if leaving Eric would hurt in some way. 'He's on your bloody ship!' Eve told herself. 'He's not going anywhere.' Her thoughts churned. Of course he wouldn't...

<OOC note: For the records, mates, Orestes has gone below and isn't on deck anymore...*grin* Have noticed some people posting as if he were still there, which he's not. Just making sure.>
Orestes continued playing with the dust, watching it make lazy circles around the room. He cast the rest of his attention back on deck, his prescence hovering near his brother.
"Callisto, eh?" he said in Roux's ear. "Interesting name." He watched Tobbs react, half-amused and half-worried. "We can't let anything happen to this girl," he whispered. "She's important...if need be, we may have to reveal ourselves. We can't let them hurt her..."

(ooc-sorry i haven't really posted guys i've been studying for finals but my last one was tody so i'll be posting an adequate amount for the next tw days then its off to Britain...)
* Maria rose a brow at the woman she came to know as 'Tobbs'. She was quite a handful, but a smart girl at that. She rose to her feet watching the situation from her position. Tobbs had even gone after Jack's throat, she had nerve and she respected that, but Maria wasn't that daring as to question the authority of her captain. *

*Eric laughed and opened his eyes, rolling them as she called him a softie but he didn't move from his position. He closed his eyes again and tipped his head back, pretending to ignore her as she spoke again then he forced a fake yawn and his grin grew. But as she went on about Roux becoming her spotter instead his eyes shot open and he sat up tall upon the barrel. He folded his arms and raised a brow, shaking his head.* Frankly Evelyn I dont know if anyone could withstand what comes your way. You've got a mouth on you that could make the Devil himself want to fight ya. *He smirked, his dark eyes scanning the ships deck for Roux. He didn't want this man to be her spotter...in fact he didn't want anyone to be her spotter. He wanted to do it, even if he was worried to see how she acted when she was drunk. He felt like he had more control over what happened to her if it was him watching her.* Besides what makes you think he'll actually watch over you and not get caught up in something else and forget about you? *He asked, hurrying after her. He reached out and placed his hand upon her shoulder, spinning her around to face him again. A grin formed on his face then he forced a serious look which was almost impossible to keep.* But if you want him to watch you than so be it. It'll free up my night. *He said, his grin slowly forming again. He did want to watch over her although he wondered if he could bring himself to go into another tavern. He hadn't been in one since that fatal night...but deep down inside he knew if Evelyn went into one, he would follow.*

Evelyn was spun around by Eric and she glanced over him from head to toe once again. She could tell he was concerned about her, or else he would have let her go no questions asked. He wouldn't have come after her and stopped her if he didn't. Evelyn grinned "I bet he could stand me actually...he's been able to work with me fer six bloody months on this ship without ever gettin' in a fight with me. It seems yer the one with the problem." Evelyn told him matter of factly crossing her arms.
"Ye walked on here and within ten minutes ye were threatenin' me already." Her smile grew broadly on her face. "Besides, I think I can trust the man, actually maybe more than you. Besides, with ye being so bloody cruel to me half the time, who knows what you might come up with to do to me." Eve said placing a finger to his chest and prodding him a bit with it as she spoke. When he urged her to go ahead and ask Roux to spot her Evelyn shook her head, looked down briefly, and then looked up at him.
Eric was quite tall compared to her short stature. She noted this once again as her forehead barely touched the tip of his chin. "Ye know what? I won', don' worry Eric. I know deep down ye really don' want me to, so I'll save ye the grovelin' and just stick with you." Evelyn told him with a smirk, patting his chest lightly, as she passed him and took up his old seat, propping her feet up on a nearby barrel.
She stared him over for a bit and then looked out to the horizon. She heard a few yells, probably coming from Tobbs, but at the moment she didn't want to mix herself up in that mess. Evelyn looked him over and shook her head. "I'm only toyin' with ye mate, have a seat." She told him with a laugh patting the space next to her.

*Eric let out a laugh of surprise as she said he was the one with the problem. He glanced down at her hand as she prodded him in the chest then slowly he reached out and grabbed it.* Your right, I am the one with the problem. You know what that problem is? *He asked, looking her up and down. He thrust his face close to hers and he grinned boyishly.* Its you. *He said, quickly pulling back again. Then he grunted as she mentioned how deep down inside he wanted to be her spotter and so she would just let him do so. He watched her take her seat upon the barrel and he stood in his place for a long moment then he went over to her and stood before her, looking down at her as he ran his fingers through his now rather tangled hair, which was due in part to Evelyn.* You know deep down inside you don't want any other spotter but me. *He said with a grin. Then suddenly he reached out and lifted her up, one arm beneath the backs of her knees, and the other behind her neck and he spun around and held her over the railing. His hold on her was tight and she wouldn't fall unless he let her but none the less he was enjoying toying with her a bit.* And I believe you took my seat there. *He said, nodding his head back towards the barrel she had been sitting upon.*

Evelyn had thought about his response to her claiming he was the one with the problem. Eve smiled and wondered if she truly was a problem to him, but she shrugged it off not caring either way. As he told her she didn't want any other spotter than him Evelyn's mouth dropped. "Oh really?" Eve asked about to retort angrily when suddenly he took her by the legs.
Evelyn's heart pounded as he placed her over the edge of the ship. "OH my GOD! Eric put me down, ye bastard put me down...Don' ye dare drop me." She scowled. Her hair hung downward, the long ringlets blowing in the wind and her eyes grew wind staring at the deep blue. When he told her she had taken his seat Eve laughed and shook her head. "An' so what?" Evelyn asked him crossing her arms although it was a bit difficult to do hanging upside down. He dipped her downward a bit and she yelped. "Alrigh'! Alright!" Evelyn said with a bit of fear in her voice. "Ye can have yer bloody seat! Jus' don' drop me in there...I've plunged into the sea enough for one day." Evelyn pleaded.
Her hands reached up to his hands and tightened around them, "Jus' please don' drop me." Evelyn said half pleadingly, and half with a laugh.

*Eric laughed plafyully and his eyes sparkled as he glanced down at her. He tightened his grip around her legs to keep from dropping her in his laughter and when she called him a bastard he cleared his throat and raised a brow.* Ah now I dont think that kind of talk is going to get you back on the ship. *He stated in as serious of a tone as he could muster up. But he laughed again as she crossed her arms and he shook his head. He dipped her a bit suddenly.* Whoa almost lost you there! *He said with a grin and a wink. As she spoke again he could tell she was growing slightly afraid and he pondered her pleas for a moment.* I suppose I'll bring you back up. If I don't it'll spoil Emmas entire trip to Tortuga. *He said and with a slight struggle managed to bring Evelyn back up over the railing and planted her safely back on deck again. He glanced around for a moment and suddenly realized that she probably wasn't going to let him get away with that. Slowly he started to back away, though he was still facing her. He was ready to turn and run if she came after him.*

Evelyn growled at his comments. "Yer laughin' yer head off and I'm here scared half ta death!" Evelyn scowled again. When she was finally pulled aboard Evelyn landed on deck safely and she took a few deep breaths. Her hair fell wildly over her and she huffed. "My hair!" Evelyn said. Quickly Eve tried to brush her curls in place. "Do ye have ANY idea how hard it is to tame this!" Evelyn told him beginning to approach him quickly and heatedly.
He backed away cautiously and Evelyn had the greatest urge to slap him straight across the face. "Ye know I'd slap ye right now if I didn' know ye were such a softie." Evelyn told him with a smirk and taking a seat. "An' yer lucky yer stronger than me, or I'd 'ave gladly tossed ye overboard." Evelyn said with a frown as she took a seat.
She eyed her curls curiously, examining pieces of her brown tendrils, and trying to comb it back in place. "I hate my bloody hair...sometimes I swear I jus' feel like choppin' it all off!" Evelyn groaned. In truth she had come quite close, but simply couldn't because her mother had the curly tresses and her hair reminded her of her mother. She would get him back eventually, when he was least expecting it...

*Eric grinned brightly and held up his hands as he slowly backed away from her advance towards him. He watched her in an amused manner as she attempted to put her hair back into place then he tipped his head slightly to the slide and shoved his hands in his pockets, leaning against the railing of the Pearl.* I thought you didn't care if your hair was in place. Trying to impress me are you? *He asked, his voice filled with humor. As she mentioned cutting it off he frowned for a moment then reached out and tried helping her put the curls back into place. After a bit of brushing his hand through her dark locks he stepped away and hopped up on the railing so that he was sitting on it. He grabbed a hold of a rope and he stared at her for a long moment before he grinned again, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the waters below.* If you really want me overboard that bad then here's your chance. All you have to do is give me a little push. *He said. And for a moment he wondered if she actually would shove him overboard. Just to be safe he scanned the side of the ship again, just to make sure there was a way of some sort he could climb aboard again. He slowly looked back at her and gave her a look that said "Well?"*
