Evelyn's eyes went to Eric's and smiled warmly at him. Then she turned as Emma gave her a grin. As Emma began to speak to her Evelyn sighed a bit. "Ye mean Rick, right?" She asked lifting a brow as she watched Rick leave as well. It seemed there was some unsaid words between them and as Emma spoke she knew it to be true. Eve's smile faded a bit. "O' course I'd be grateful, ye should be! I mean especially if ye two were close..." Evelyn trailed off a bit waiting for Emma's reaction. If Evelyn had learned anything about Emma's personality was that she was quick to act and if Evelyn was wrong in her assumptions, Emma would give her a hard glance to correct her.

Selina looked Gypsy over as she took into account Damien. No doubt she thought him a strange man, perhaps, but there was no sort of wanting in her eyes, and Selina knew instanly Gypsy was not interested in him the slightest. As Gypsy pulled out a deck of cards a small grimace grew on her face. "Cards. Of course. I'm quite good you know, I hope you can put up a fight Gypsy." Selina said as she glanced around, gathering a barrel and a few crates to make a makeshift table. As she took up a seat Selina lifted a brow and watched as Gypsy began to deal. "Joining us, Damien?"

:: Damien grinned, and sat down at the make-shift table to play as well. He loved card games, always had ever since he was a kid. And he had to admit he'd gotten quite skilled over the years::
"So what's the game, mes cheres? Poker? War?" ::He flashed them both a charming grin::

*Sunny rays cast down their joy as she watched the waves crash upon the shore....she was laughing happily, an innocent child...all of a sudden Tobbs was watching herself when she was young, her childish giggles echoing in her mind....there was an older boy tossing sea shells into the water and showing off the beautiful ones to her so she could make a necklace....the sun faded into darkness, and the wind howled fiercely...*
*A choked scream rose from the water and rang from the sea...Tobbs looked at her young self and followed the gaze to where she saw a boy younger than her child self, drowning in a fast current of the ocean....the elder boy was gone into the water...she could see the two fading beneath the blue...she saw her young self screaming terribly, and could hear sobs of an older man as everything went dark....the sobs turned into a scream by the same person, blood curling and spine tingling, and the face of the young boy and the other with her flashed in her mind as they choked in the water, and the face of the man as he screamed and hung by a noose, then laughter and a dffferent scream she heard but still so familiar...*
*Tobbs sat up with a start, realizing the scream was her own as the laughter faded from her mind....she muttered and stood wearily, sighing as she saw the night was still upon them...so she wouldn't sleep all that well, she needed to take a break...*
*She went onto the deck and glanced around, seeing some of the crew still on the ship. Morning wasn't that far off she examined as she looked at the sky...the fading stars were so beautiful.*
*Walking to the side of the Pearl, she sighed again in thoughtfulness, gazing up into the heavens, feeling the light of the moon on her skin..she glanced over at a pair of talking crewmen, then over to the wheel of the Pearl. She saw Jack talking to a young lady, and she slightly was reminded of herself when she looked upon the girl just because she was once aboard a ship the same age and even earlier in her life....unfortunately under worse circumstances....*
*Focusing her gaze on Sparrow, she watched him speaking, watched him beneath the light of the moon....what was it with him? What could he do that no other had done before? Why with him had she recalled the past? She told herself she didn't want to know, and tried to forget about it....but as she turned her gaze back out to the sea, she knew that as much as she tried to hate him and forget about him, one day she'd have to face the facts that he was right, and she'd been wrong...*
*But that day wouldn't have to be so near...maybe that day she could prolong for a pretty long time. For now, she'd have to hate him, or force herself to do so, or else he'd trick her again. She looked at Jack once more, and forced herself to mutter. She told herself this would be easy...but she already knew if she had to try so hard, then...Looking down, Tobbs felt the sea breeze and the familiar scent of the salty sea, luving every moment of it, her thoughts sailing off with the wind...*

Emma blushed slightly,though it probably couldn't be seen in the dim light of the moon."Aye...Rick."She sighed."I am grateful,I s'pose,an' we were close...very close..."The blush deepened on her tanned skin,and she looked away.She couldn't really go into detail with a crew member...how would it sound for Emma Hawkins,the crazy lass who'd charge into any fight head first,who could outwit,outdrink,and outfight just about any man she'd ever come across,to tell people how Rick had meant everything to her,how every day without him had been incomplete,how she'd woken up every night for crying from nightmares that were no worse than what she'd been through in reality.Instead,she smiled cockily at Evy."So...word 'as it yer lookin' f'r a rematch f'r las' week's drinkin' contest,aye?"
Gypsy flashed a wry smile at Selina,shuffling the deck thoroughly."Put up a fight?I'm merely hoping you'll prove good enough to amuse me,"she responded easily as she began to deal."Game is poker."

*Eric swallowed hard and glanced over at Evelyn as she spoke to him again and placed her hand upon his shoulder. He sighed and forced a small smile as he nodded slowly. He knew he shouldn't blame himself but that wasn't going to stop him from doing so. He lowered his head a bit but his smile grew as her grip on his shoulder tightened and she mentioned how she didn't like seeing him hurt. He turned slowly to face her and his eyes met hers for a long moment then he released his grasp on the rings and placed his hands upon the railing behind him.* Thats why I got so upset when you threw the rings overboard. They were gonna be our wedding bands. I made them and now I guess its just my way of keeping her close. *He said thoughtfully, but not sadly. Eric wondered if he would ever be able to let his first love go. He knew there would never be room in his heart for two. He gazed at Evelyn a moment longer before reaching out and patting her arm.* I guess we're both softies hiding behind a rock wall hum? *Eric said with a slight bit of humor in his voice. He opened his mouth to speak again when Emma came over, asking who he was. He glanced over at Evelyn as she responded and he grinned and laughed. As she nudged him he nudged her back then tipped his head at Emma* Nice to meet ya Emma. You're a friend of Evelyns hum? Well I guess she doesn't kill everyone she runs across. *He said winking at Evelyn. He took Emmas hand then leaned against the railing himself, his eyes gazing upwards towards the stars glittering brightly overhead. He caught Evelyn smiling warmly at him out of the corner of his eye and he returned the smile then laughed at the rematch comment.* I think I'm gonna retire. *He said, still laughing softly. He tipped his head once more to Emma then gently flicked one of Evelyns curls and playfully punched her arm.* I'll see you in the morning Evelyn. Nice meeting you Emma. Hope all turns out well with that...Rick...fellow. *He said and started to walk away when suddenly he stopped and spun around.* Evelyn! *He called loudly, then smiled.* Thanks. *He said simply, his voice now much softer. He ran a hand through his hair then trotted off towards his cabin. Inside he found Will laying upon the bottom bunk.*
*Will opened a sleepy eye as Eric worked his way into the cabin. He laughed and watched his friend climb into the top bunk and he firmly kicked the mattress above him nearly causing Eric to topple off it and onto the floor.* So how was the chat with your girlfriend? *Will asked, a large grin on his face as he poked his head up over the edge of the mattress to see Eric. He was glad to see his friend doing more than arguing with Evelyn now. He felt the best thing for Eric right now was the presence of another woman.*
*Eric quickly grabbed hold of the headboard as Will kicked the mattress* Bloody idiot are you trying to break my neck? *He asked as Wills head popped up beside him. He reached out and thwaped his friend on the side of the head but Will only laughed and gave a failed attempt at ducking the hit. As Will mentioned Erics "girlfriend" Eric wacked him again.* I don't even know who you're talking about.....and besides she isnt my girlfriend. *He stated, rolling over with his back to Will and his face to the wall.*
*Will shook his head but his grin lingered as he laid back down on his own bunk. There was a silence for a long moment with only the sounds of the waves and the creaking ship surrounding them. He sighed and kicked off his boots, sinking beneath the covers and folding his arms behind his head as he drifted off to sleep. He found himself wondering what Elizabeth was doing at that moment and he wished more than anything that she was with him on the Pearl. He loved her more than life itself and being away from him only continued to remind him of that.*
*As Eric lay there his eyes eventually drooped and he drifted off into a light sleep. All about him there was nothing but darkness and then suddenly a woman's voice. Distant but crisp as the waves in the sea. He recognized it the moment he heard it...Ashley. She was calling to him, calling his name and telling him goodbye. He turned in his sleep and shook his head.* No, never. I'll never say goodbye. I'd rather die. *He muttered, but her words were persistent. Finally he sat up in bed, sweating and breathing heavily as he glanced about himself.*
*Will jumped up as he heard Eric muttering in his sleep. He shook the man softly and stumbled backwards in surprise as Eric bolted up in bed. He shook the mans arm and managed to gain his attention.* Eric, you were dreaming. Are you alright? *He asked concerned.*
*Eric gazed at Will for a long moment then he closed his eyes for a moment and nodded his head.* Sorry about that, I'm fine. Go back to bed Will. *He said and laid back down, though he only got a slight bit of sleep for the remainder of the night as far too many thoughts of Ashley, Will, Evelyn, his past, and his future flooded his mind. Will lingered by his friends side a moment longer before he too finally laid down, drifting off into a deep but uneventful sleep.*

Rose grinned a bit; she enjoyed the captain's rambling speech. It reminded her of her own. She considered his question and turned to look at the sea thoughtfully. "Well...I've been thinkin'." She grinned again. "A dangerous thing for a pirate, I know. But...th' two new guys, Hawk an' Orestes. Orestes is...well...there's somethin' different about 'im. 'm not sure what it is, but I think it's good, an' I like 'im despite it. Hawk, though...I feel like 've met 'im before. I trust 'im already, which is strange, an' I can tell 'e trusts me too. 'S all crazy...nothin's been really normal since we pulled out o' Port Royale..."
She trailed off, looking at Jack, then abruptly looked away. "'m sorry, got carried away," she muttered sheepishly. "You've prolly got better things t'do that t'listen to a kid's ramblin's..."
After Hermes had explained the whole story to Hawk, he left the rather shell-shocked boy in his cabin to go prowl the deck. He was assured that Hawk was honourable, even for a pirate, and wouldn't reveal to anyone his secret.
While on deck, Hermes became Orestes again and looked. There was the Sparrow man, talking to his daughter...hmmm. Orestes allowed himself a small triumphant smile; perhaps his plans for the Sparrow family would work out after all.
But what caught his eye was the woman standing on deck, farther away from the Sparrows...Tobbs. Orestes's eyes narrowed a bit; now would be a perfect time to...poke around, as he was famous for doing.
He approached Tobbs cautiously, exuding a soft aura of calmness and trust. Enough so that Tobbs would be at ease and not suspicious, but not enough for her to really sense it. "Doing all right, miss?" he asked her, with a small, charming grin.

*Maria sat on her bed wondering what the bloody hell was going on.. She hadn't remembered a thing that day. It felt as though she had been unconcious... She curled up under the covers and fixed her gaze upon a crack in the celing... *
*She rubbed her head and made sure she hadn't knocked herself out. She took a deep breath and began to hum, and slowly she drifted off into a light sleep.*

Evelyn looked at Eric as he began to make his leave, flicking a curl and then giving her a small punch. She lifted her brow and smirked. "Are ye always this violent before ye head off to bed?" She asked him with a laugh. Her eyes gazed him over as he turned to leave. Turning back to Emma she opened her mouth to speak but was startled when Eric's voice broke the silence. Her honeyed eyes turned to him. She had not expected for him to thank her. She shook her head. "No need ta thank me mate. Now go get some damned sleep, ye look terrible." Eve told him sternly. A playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.
When he finally disappeared she turned her attention back to Emma. There was much more to this Rick than met the ears, Emma simply wasn't telling her the whole story, but she knew better than to press her about this. Out of the whole crew, Eve had a special respect for Emma. She was very much like herself really, perhaps a bit too forward, acting before she thought it through thoroughly, but she was none the less a good pirate, a great crewmate, someone she'd be happy to be next to in a scrap.
"A rematch, sounds good mate." Evelyn began thinking things over. "In Tortuga." She stated plainly. "I don' wanna be gettin' drunk on a ship, goin' to a swaying mattress to lay down isn' the best remedy for drunkeness." Eve said in a bit of a sour tone, rePirateing the last time she had made the foolish decision to take on a drinking match aboard a ship. As a result she ended up sick for longer than necessary and ended up losing five pounds that week. "There we can get as drunk as we wan' and not have ta worry about it too much." She laughed. Then placing a hand upon Emma's shoulder she stood up.
"Well I'll be off ta bed then, be seein' ye in the mornin' Em. Night." Evelyn stated with a small smile as she went down into the lower cabins, finding her own. Her eyes shifted around her room and she took a seat on the edge of her bed. She came here to sleep, but knew that wouldn't be possible. She had found a way to block out most of her nightmares, memories of the Devil's Wrath, her father's death, and her mother's failing state haunted her, but mostly of Luis. There were many mixed emotions when she thought of him. Anger, revenge, hate for one....if she ever caught sight of him again she'd kill the man with her bare hands, but at the same time her heart ached for him. No. She shook her head. She had buried any such love for him long ago, but when she thought of him she couldn't help but feel sad.
As she lay down on her mattress a thought of Eric came to her. She sighed knowing nothing could ever come of it, of them...but there was no them....was there? NO of course not, she tried convincing herself. "He's still in love with Ashley." Evelyn said to herself softly. She still owned his heart, as Luis still tugged at hers. She shook her head. Nothing would come of it...but when she recalled his warm smile, hearty voice, dark eyes, and his playful nature she couldn't help but smile. But Ashley would always be there and she knew it.
She tossed in her bed and looked up to the ceiling, she stood quickly and splashed cool water on her face in the darkness of her room. Evelyn had met handsome men before, had spent a night with them, enjoyed their company but none had stirred her this way. She shook her head and paced about the room a bit, sat on the edge of her bed and resulted to biting her nails, a nasty habit really, and would get little sleep that night...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Selina gave a grin as Gypsy spoke. "Then your in for a surprise." Selina told her with a nod taking up her hand of cards and looking them over. As in any game of poker, concealing the thoughts running through ones head was key. She looked to the others, waiting for one of them to slip up a bit. Readjusting herself in her seat, Selina's leg brushed against Damien's and she pulled back instantly. The urge once there rekindled and she shook her dark hair.
Looking at the cards she tried to concentrate, to think of what to do. Taking three cards she placed them down with a slap of her hand, trying just as much to bring herself back to the game as distract Damien, hoping he didn't notice the small brush.
*The Habit of dreams had rarely, if ever, came to Maria. Yet there she was. It was a cold Caribbean day. There she saw a crew of about fifty. She made her way down the corriders of the ship, yet no one seemed to notice her. It was as though she was a ghost. She went on deck and gazed upon its crew. She turned to go back downstairs but as she was a man headed up, a familair face. He had the same complexion, same build as Will, Sparrow's friend. It couldn't possibly.. She told herself.* "Bootstrap!" *One crewman called to him.. She followed him as he precceded to the call* "Looks like they've tracked us down..." *Maria looked over the edge to see a ship with Black sails, the pearl in fact... This dream was getting weirder by the minute. She shook her head and slid down to sit holding her head in her arms... A cannon fired and she jolted to wake up. She lay there in a cold sweat, unsure of what had just happened..*
Roux walked onto deck just as the sun's first dimly gray rays shot over the sky. He peered around in teh dim light and looked at the sky. hermes was on deck now too. He gave the younger god a curious look, saw who was speaking to and decided to not involve himself.
Hermes was, if he was nothing else, smart. Well, clever. He could handle things for now. Roux turned his head skyward, and seemed to breath in the dawn. it had been well over two decades sense he allowed himself to feel teh glory of the sun. it gave him life, joy.
it was a hard feeling to discribe. The love he had for the sun he called his own. The feel so powerful and firey. The heat it gave him. the burning warmth. So like being in love only magnifed countless times over...and even then it did not come close. It was to strong a feeling. A feeling he denied himself to walk as a mortal for long years.
to become a mortal, a pirate. A odd choice. but Apollo was quite odd himself. and just recently he had controled the sun again. demanding it to obey him. it was a feeling he'd long missed. He could hear it's rise now. The faint creeping of it's power over the sky. His sister retiring and letting his glory reign.
A smile paced over his face and he waited. He'd take Linea again. let her walk over the sky with him for a minute or so. Experience the fire of dawn and then once more, become a mortal. #nosmileys
:The soft light of morning woke Linea from her slumber. She was to meet Roux on deck so she needed to get ready quickly so she wouldn't be late. Linea jumped out of bed, quietly so she would wake her cousin, and scrambled to get dressed. She pulled on soft dark breeches and a crimson shirt with bloused sleeves. Linea quickly brushed her teeth and pulled a brush through her midnight hair and let it fall loosely down her back. Once she was ready to go, she rushed out of her cabin and on deck to where she could see Roux waiting for her. Linea walked over to him and smiled brightly.:
It's a nice morning, don't you think Roux?
:Jack considered Rose a while. So she noticed Orestes's well..oddness as well. He smiled at her a bit: "No....I'm just sailin' a thing I could two blind deaf and dumb....so contrary to what yer thinkin' I don't mind a bit listenin' to you....."
:He wondered if that came out as kindly as he'd intended it too. At any rate he gave her a honest smile: "that Orestes......he is a bit strange. seems a bit smarter then he's letttin on....."
"an' Hawk. Nice kid. But...well.....seems to me he's got a past of sorts. But if he warms up to you that's good...least he knows there's one pirate on this ship who's not going to kill him...doesn't seem like he trusts many people...if you get my meaning there...."
:Jack looked thoughtfully at the sea.: "We may have a bigger trip then I'd expected."
Roux turned eyes that flashed a brillant gold again at Linea. They burned brightly for a moment or two the light of the sun in them and he nodded, happy to see her awake.
The others on deck were not far away. But Apollo could easily make them forget. however, well he wasn't one for doing that. Instead he just lead her silently to a pile of boxs and ropes near the stern and nodded.
"A very beautiful morning." He agreed. "Are you ready?" He held out his hand to her, ready to soar.
Aye, I am ready.
:She waited, smiling more than ever at him, knowing that it would be a wonderful morning.:
Roux laughed softly, glad to have company. He felt the joy of racing sunlight was something that one single person to could experience alone. It was to much joy for one heart to take.
He took her hand, pulled her as close as he dared and smiled. there was a whirl of wind a flash of golden light and he rose into the air, soflty at first, as if getting his bearing and they were gone.
Light surrounded them, music, roaring warmth and brillant golden flashes and He took her over the sea, heading for that single speak of light on the horizon line. A speak that grew larger, more brillant, glowing, rosy, golden and warm.
The sun burst into it's full glory before them. Apollo, now a god, smiled at it. He looked at Linea, then seemd to think something over, before taking her directly into the sun itself. Instead of racing it now, they were th sun. They were in it's heart. A golden mass of fire and light. He shielded her carefully, his robe around her.
A chariot was what they were standing on. a great, golden, on the verse of being gaudy, chariot of gold,rbies and brialltn diamonds. A chariot drawn by horses with white coas and manes of fire, hooves of gold. They nickered a welcome and pulled the sun over the sky, Apollo's steady hands guiding them.
He missed this feeling for so long. He turned to Linea, stil amazed she was having a good time. Normally, well on the few occsaions Apollo had allowed a person, mortal or immortal ride with him they had been terrifed. Normally they ignored the song the sun created the joy one felt. He smiled over at her, eyes like golden coins.
"What do you want to see? " He asked her. "The sun touches every land in this world. What is it you wish to see?"
