Hermes's attention was being stretched. Even as he was a god, he always had trouble focusing on two things at once...the events with Jack Sparrow and the new maiden, Tobbs, below, and his brother's romance in the sky. He couldn't give either his full attention, and it was annoying him.
Hermes had sensed Apollo's thought regarding Tobbs...perhaps he would have a word with the woman later. He'd always had a gift for bestowing cheer...and his frustration regarding the captain's daughter grew. Why weren't things working out like they were supposed to? Perhaps she shouldn't find out...maybe it would be best...
Hermes sighed. Being a god was damn tiring sometimes...
"Doin' okay, mate?" Hawk asked, raising an eyebrow at his new companion.
"Hmmm?" Orestes looked up in surprise. "Oh, yes, I'm fine. I...think I'll go lie down for a bit. It's late, after all..."
Hawk nodded; he'd never understood this odd concept of "sleep" some people seemed to have. For his own part, he could survive on about five hours of sleep a week. He was a light sleeper and needed little of it to function well.
Orestes retreated to his cabin and became Hermes again, before seeping away from the ship entirely. It was time to pay a visit to his family back home...he wanted a bit of his sister Athena's patience, his father Zeus's gratitude, and his mother Maia's nagging...as annoying as it could be, it was familiar. And he also wanted a word with Artemis...the two had always gotten along, as opposite as they were, and Hermes wanted her opinion on what exactly was going on with Apollo.
"Goodbye, O faithful ship," Hermes murmured as his prescence departed the room. "See you in the morning..."
