(OOC - So.....much.....love.....cannot......cope..... *THUD*) (hey, Bossa. If it makes ye feel better then ye can watch me get my arse kicked by Tobbs. -Jack)
::Barbossa eyed the girl before him::
//Gypsy...// ::he thought:: //Where 'ave I 'eard that before?//
"Its been...er... a pleasure ta meet ye, Gypsy lass. Ye can call me Cap'n Barbossa, though me first name be Morgan. Meet me at th' docks b'fore dusk tamorrow, an' I'll see if I can find ye a place aboard me ship."
::He gave her as kind and friendly a wink as he could manage, then turned to leave. This was going to be a long night - he had to try to recruit an entire crew before the sun set the next day....::
~The Next Afternoon~
::The sun was just beginning to slip below the horizon, casting an eerie blood-red tint across the sky as Barbossa marched up toward the docks. His hood was once again covering his features to avoid unnecessary confrontation, and the rest of his black cloak draped around him ominously::
::As he approached the piers, he looked out at the ships docked in the harbor. It didn't take him long to spot Damien's vessel::
::It was painted black, with black sails and rigging, the name Blood's Call painted on its side. It was a truly remarkable ship, and Barbossa suddenly felt guilty about his plan to leave Damien behind. However, his need for the open seas was stronger, and without waiting for anyone else he began to walk to the ship::
(Evy and Emma - go ahead and post as Selina and Gypsy if you want. Just don't have them go on the ship yet...*g*)

Gypsy went back to her room when Barbossa had left.She tossed the bodies out the window,cleaned herself off,and got some sleep.She woke late the next morning,and slept an extra hour or so to help with her headache before carefully brushing out her long,black hair,making sure all the traces of blood were gone from her hands,and stowing on her person several knives,a rigged deck of playing cards,and a pair of weighted dice,all she owned in the world.Then,stepping out into the afternoon sunlight,she headed down to the docks,looking around for Barbossa."He'd better not have gone without me..."she said to herself when she saw no sign of him.

Things were happening now, quickly. Nothing for now, big brother...nothing for now...
Rose finally watched as Jack broke free from Tobbs, and grabbed one of the woman's wrists to restrain her. "Now, like Maria said...what the bloody 'ell 'appened 'ere?" she demanded authoritatively.

Selina awoke with a groan and turned her head away from the man next to her. This time he was used for her satisfaction and nothing more. Then looking out of the window she noted the sunlight was fading and she widened her eyes. "OH no!" she said loudly as she quickly stood and began to dress. Her dark trousers, her black sash, her tall boots, all were being rapidly placed on. The sound of a hurried breath, and the small jingling of Selina's various jewelry the only things heard in the room.
The man smiled up at her as she dressed. "How are ye this morning?" he asked her lifting a brow. Selina smiled maliciously and turned inserting her dagger up her sleeve. "Very well..." she said in a smooth tone. He turned his head and sat on the edge of the bed, his back facing her and this was it.
In a quick flash her dagger was out and she jumped upon the bed attempting to slit his throat. This time he resisted and caught her before she could make her move. He grabbed her arm and sneered at her. "Gotcha!" he said loudly bringing her arm down upon his shoulder hard to shake the dagger from her. Selina recoiled and hissed at him, hitting the back of the wall.
"Ye scurvy li'l beast! Did ye not think I know who ye are?" He asked turning around. "Yer the Black Widow..and there's a mighty fine price on yer head in Tortuga." Selina smirked and lifted a brow while cradling her right arm momentarily. "Is there?" Selina asked him lifting a curved brow. "Indeed and yer my months wages." he nodded and just as he did he scrambled from the bed. Selina dodged as he dove at her and stood, grabbing the porcelain wash basin, she held it up high and smashed it down hard.
The man fell down, his head bloody, and he remained lifeless. Selina was breathing heavily as she looked down at him. "Ye think I didn't know you knew? I was just looking for a bit of fun in the morning. Haven't had a good fight in a while." She sighed. Indeed she did know that he had heard, but honestly, she was looking for a good fight. With her skills and in Tortuga, all she had encountered were drunken men and sloppy swords.
~~~~
Selina walked slowly towards the docks, spotting a few figures and a grand ship Blood's Call, it was named and rightfully so, she thought. With a hand on her hip and the other running through her hair, she stood awaiting orders. Selina knew better than to just simply board a ship she wasn't sure was Barbossa's, so she would wait. In the slow dying of the sun's rays, with a mischievious smile across her face.
:Linea smiled more than she had in a long time. She thought over what Roux had said about seeing those things that were and were not possible and sighed lightly. Looking up at him when they were back on deck she smiled up at him again.:
That was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen Roux, and I don't really know what to say. If you wish to take me again, it would indeed be an honour. Thank you.
:She blushed at her thoughts when he said if it made her happy.:
It makes me more than happy.
*With the built up rage for the past years, she aimed for her target's death with all the life she had left. She'd always used calm methods to attack those who caused some sort or trouble or anguish in her life, but this man....she couldn't control herself with him.*
*She could feel the bewilderment from Sparrow and she slyly grinned. Suddenly, she heard crew members coming from the deck, and as she thought of what she could do while still trying to kill Jack, he freed himself and she was on the ground suddenly, her arms pinned down by him*
*She writhed beneath him, trying to free herself (which really in no way was possible..but Tobbs was Tobbs, and she'd never give up). She took a small break when the other crew members came in...four...perhaps this would be harder than she thought...*
*With another burst of energy she struggled and twisted, but to no avail. She heard the crew in the backround telling her to calm down and asking what had happened.*
"Be a servant then ta you, be yer bloody wench, is that what you want? Well I'll never be so much as thought of it, so ya best be gettin it outta yer head! Friends....bah...be a friend and become a servant, thats 'ow it works in this world..."
*As he came closer and tried making her uncomfortable, she gazed into his eyes again, the ones that seemed to captivate her, tomake her actually think that the world wasn't out to get her all the time...and for a matter of seconds, she let her defenses fall, and a wave of sorrow passed over her face and stayed in her misty eyes. She whispered this more than shouted or even spoke normally, and why so she could not recall..*
"But 'ow, Sparra, 'ow do I know ya won' 'urt me in the dead 'o night, or when I'm not on my guard, or when I start trustin ye, or trick me into believin this world might 'ave some good in it, and that you care, and wanna help, and then you shatter everythin' all again and make me suffer just like all the rest did? 'ow do I know I can trust ye, 'ow do I ever know what 'appened so many times before....won't 'appen again?"
*She sighed and turned her face from his to hide the small tear that was trying to fall from her eye lids. She closed her eyes to prevent it from falling, and looked back at him, wondering if he was safe to trust, if he would be nice, if he....if he...*
*Suddenly, the sorrow vanished, the words were gone, she felt like he'd tricked her again, he'd just tricked her into telling the truth, he made her feel sorrow and pain. See? This was what the man wantd! For her to suffer! *
*Her face dawned a calm, sly look again, and the bad side shown through once more. In response to Jack's last words, she got closer to his face, closer than he'd been to her, probably as close as they could get, and spoke coolly*
"A week? Well then Sparra, it'll be a week 'o 'ell fer you, so be prepared. And if it doesn't please ya at all ta throw myself overboard, then I'll be doin it everyday I get the chance...or I could juss steal some things and find my way on one 'o yer smaller boats...or do somethin else you'd completely hate...either way, you'll be in fer it, and I'll be there every time..."
*Eric grinned as she accepted his help and sat down upon the barrel. He stared at her for a moment then followed her gaze about the faces upon the ship. It wasn't even his and he still felt akward with all of them aboard. Something just didn't seem right with some of them. With a sigh he picked up where Evelyn had left off at the helm. He laughed as she grew heated about them doing their part on the ship and he nodded, glancing over at her.* Im sure they will once we really get going. You cant sail a ship with only a few people...despite what Will says. *He said, glancing over his shoulder as Will walked up to the wheel. He laughed and shook his head then looked back at Evelyn with a boyish grin. He gave a nod back towards Wills direction.* Can you believe that guy actually had an infamous adventure? I still can't. *He grunted then his eyes shot in the direction where the passed out lass had been taken as her voice pierced the air. He looked back at Evelyn with a raised brow and he laughed softly as he overheard bits and pieces of Tobbs heated conversation, though he couldn't hear Jack. He grinned and shook his head, taking a seat on the barrel beside Evelyn.* This is going to be one bloody interesting boat trip. *He said, nudging her with his elbow. Then he heard a splash and he jumped up quickly.* If I had been anywhere else on this ship I might of thought you threw someone over. *He said with a grin and hurried towards the sound of the splash. As he peeked over the railing he saw nothing but a slight blur of color sinking deeper into the sparkling water. He cocked his head to the side then looked around confused. He watched as Jack leaped in after her and returned her on deck. He blinked a few times then went back over to Evelyn and he grinned again.* You'd save me if I jumped overboard right? *He winked, returning to manning the the helm.*[/color]
*Will cringed when he heard the all to familiar voice of Tobbs rise up, calling to Jack. He watched with a raised brow as the Captain hurried into the cabin and Will followed him, standing outside the door with his arms folded and he listened. This woman he knew would be dead set on killing Jack and Will wasn't ready to let that happen. As much as it would amuse him to see Jack get beat by a girl he'd intervine if he had to. But suddenly Tobbs rushed out of the cabin and leapt over board. As Jack rushed by Will followed him and stood by Eric as the Captain leapt in after her. Will looked over at Eric and shook his head.* Women. *He said with a laugh and watched his friend hurry back to Evelyn. As Jack returned Tobbs to the cabin Will found himself thinking about Maria once again. The familiarty he found in her was almost frightening. He knew he had seen her before, he felt that he had known her at one time. His brow furrowed as he rushed about the deck looking for her. He burst into Jacks cabin and found her along with many other people surrounding Jack and Tobbs and he paused mid-step and tipped his head and raised a brow. He smiled slightly amused but he still placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. He'd ran into this woman once already and he knew she meant buisness.* Jack mate, is it just me or does it seem like everyone woman hell bent on killing someone has found their way onto your ship? *He asked, glancing at Tobbs.*
Rose saw the young man she didn't know enter the cabin as well; she frowned at him. "'Ey, I don't plan on killin' anybody..." She muttered something inaudible under her breath, then turned to look at Tobbs, raising an eyebrow. "Wow, mate," she said with some measure of awe, "what's gotcha so wound up? Can't you trust th' man 'o saved your life?"
Evelyn scooted over a bit as Eric took up a seat next to her, biting her thumbnail and then crossing her arms, glancing over his face as he spoke. Eve chuckled slightly at his comment about Will. "I guess yer right...bloody 'ell did I just say ye were right 'bout somethin'? Hm...must be the first time ye've heard that." She teased taking a deep sigh and looking around. "And no...I can't really believe Will was par' of Jack's grand adventure, but then again he's Jack Sparrow." Evelyn rubbed her hands on her trousers a bit.
When the cry was heard, Eve shrugged. When he spoke of the trip going to be interesting Evelyn smiled. "O' course it is, mate. I'm on it! It damn well will be interesting." She told him nudging him back playfully. Evelyn felt so open with him. Like she could talk to him for hours, like a best friend really...a very Handsome best friend at that.
When a splash interrupted their conversation and he spoke Evelyn allowed a small grin to grow. "Ye might have been right...by this time I migh' of tossed someone overboard, but since yer here taking up all my time." Evelyn told him sarcastically rolling her eyes. He headed off and then returned, Eve had stood up to see Jack return with a lass in his arms, she must have been the one arguing so angrily with Jack.
When Eric came back and spoke she paused for a moment. For a split second, she thought of saying 'of course I would.' but that would be too blunt. And she was never one to be so open. Even if it was the truth. Truth was if Eric was ever in trouble she would most likely try and save him...but would he do the same for her? Looking up at him she smiled. He was beginning to grow on her, a bit too much maybe, and she'd back away slightly, afraid to get hurt again, or worse...to hurt him.
" I don' know mate..." Eve began taking a seat back on the barrel, sitting at the edge, with her hands gripping the barrels sides. She nodded her head in the direction of the sea. "Why don' ye jump in an' see?" Evelyn told him biting her lip. "Besides...'s not like ye would either, Eric. Ye probably would be glad ta be rid o' me, wouldn' ye?" Evelyn asked lifting a brow, but not really expecting an answer. Of course he would be. Their argument that had sparked within the first minute of meeting was enough to determine that, she thought.
:Jack sighed and stared at her as she made one stubborn oath to make his life a living hell. He peered at her a minute or so....then stood up, and motioned everyone from the cabin. He glanced up at Will's comment: "I don't know mate, you atrract the sweet proper lasses and I somehow get the pissed off, stubborn as all hell ones....doesn't seem a bit fair really...." He waited until everyone left, and turned back.: "If ye hear me shout fer help come back."
:Once they were gone Jack looked at her, then stood, releasing her: "I don't know what's made ye such a stubborn rock headed lass...but it's probably what's been keepin' ye alive for so long. Cause yer stupidity sure as hell isn't......"
:He frowned darkly then continued: "I'm not a person that's overly fond of killing people in the middle of night...and as you've done nothingto cause me harm....yet.....I see no reason to try. And I can't go convincing you the world's one jolloy little party....because it bloody well isn't....we both know that....yer a pirate....all pirates know that.....it's as real as the air yer breathin......but it's not ALL bad either. And one day yer gonna realize that...."
"As fer leavin my ship. fine. I'll even give you a boat and some food and water if ye want them bad enough." :his eyes turned almost sympathetic. "But it's a long way from anywhere. and I don't want some misguided lass out in the open sea with nought but her wee brain for company......"
:He made a motion around the room: "Yer welcome to had my cabin. Lock the doors if you want and not come out until we make land. Hell you can even barricade them and we'l just break them down once we hit land....."
:He shrugged and then looked at her closely. Almost to closely. As if he were trying to figure her out. He waited a long moment, glaring into her eyes.....then he smiled very faintly, but said nothing of what he found: "yer hungry. and thirsty. I'll find you somethingto eat...and I don't carry poisons on my ship. so you've no need to fear that...savvy?"
:He turned to go: "Welcome board the Black Pearl." :and he left as silently as a shadow comes and goes, out to indeed find food:#nosmileys
Roux just smiled at Linea, then looked up as a rather loud commotion broke loose, coming from the captain's quarters. He waited until Jack had left and motioned ot Linea that he'd be back.
He stood near the door and peered inside. Tobbs, the woman Jack had brought on board was inside. And mad as a kicked hornet hive. Roux, god that he was, could feel that anger bright and clear as sunlight.
He paused and reached out to her, projecting a sense of peace, but nothing else. If she wanted to be mad, fine with him. She probably had a good reason. But she should really calm down. He then withdrew from her, letting the peaceful feeling linger.
Maybe he should let his little brother deal with her. It may be easier for Hermes. He went back to Linea just as the sun truly set. "I'll take you back in the morning." He promised her.
(OCC- when I say "project. I mean it's rather like forcing a sense of peace into Tobbs. Like a infusion of sorts. Not damaging her any. I'm not sure if that's making sense probably not. But I'm trying to get her to calm down)#nosmileys
:Jack seriously considered giving Tobbs some sort of sleeping drug as he got her some food. Simple stuff really. bread, cheese, an apple. water.....as he had a feeling she might not trust any other form of liquid.....:
:He sighed. He couldn't QUITE figure her out yet. but it was only a matter of time. Jack could tell what made people tick. What kept them going and pushing.....:
:For Will a year ago it had bene outright love and some stupidity......but often times that blind stupidity saved him. Keep his mind one tracked and ready to race in and die for love. But he'd used itto his advantage. for a person like Jack life kept him going. He wouldn't admit it outright but he kept going because life was one hell of a ride and he wasn't about to miss a moment of it.:
:But Tobbs it seemed was being fueled by sheer and utter hate, spite and inner demons. Regret? She'd been hurt badly before. very badly. A woman scorned was a woman not to be crossed. Tobbs was a woman scored and ready to take blood. But people that ran on revenge often made stupid mistakes. She's slip up in time probably die from some rash hate fueled decision.:
;Food in hand he knocked once and pushed his cabin door open, peering at Tobbs with the look of a mna facing down a lion. But he still stood his ground. This was his ship. He'd be damned if he was aboutto let this lass drive him mad: "Here's yer food."
:He didn't bother asking if she was hungry. He knew he was. That was easy enough to see: "Sit down a minute."
*Tobbs saw all the coming crew members and sighed. Now she knew she couldn't really do anything. She wanted to tell them that he hadn't saved her, that she would've been fine when they said she'd been saved by him, but she didn't have time for Jack made them all go out. She tensed up as they all left.*
*Too weak to do anything really, so she listened to Jack...she rolled her eyes and muttered when he commented on how her stupidity wasn't keeping her alive.*
*When he began speaking of how he wasn't going to kill anyone in the night, and of the world, she wanted to scream that she knew that the world wasn't a wonderful place, and that it was a terrible, wretched, awful place, and that nothing good came of it, but she didn't have the energy or the will to do it. She just lay there.*
*He'd long passed released her, and she contemplated if she should accept to stay in his cabin and block the entrance and not allow anyone in...maybe starve herself, or escape in the night...but as she was in mid thought, she caught the sympathetic look he was giving her.*
*All of a sudden she felt his eyes searching hers, looking through her mind almost, trying to find what she was thinking, feeling...she couldn't draw her eyes from the lock he had on hers, and for the moment, she was trapped in his gaze..*
*When he smiled faintly and declared he'd get some food, she was about to protest that she wouldn't eat at all on this trip, but he was too quick. He welcomed her and left her there on the floor. She didn't budge an inch. Thoughts swirled in her mind, so many questions, so many things she didn't understand. She wanted to just toss herself overboard and let the sea take her away....*
*But all of a sudden a sense of peace washed over her. She felt the stress and frustration gone, and she wished all life could be like that. When it faded, she knew it never would...and she sighed miserably...*
*When Jack entered, she still lay on the floor, sitting up a bit more, her eyes wandering around the room. She saw the food he brought and the water, and she was almost tempted to a smile and a thank you from her old manners that taught her to do so, but she quickly hid her feelings and raised a brow at him.*
'Sit down a minute.'
*She suddenly felt it was a command. She looked at him, furrowed her brows, and sat up, saying in a protesting voice, *
"Now don' ye go on thinkin' Sparrow that you can-"
*She was interrupted by the way he looked at her. She cut off her protest short and sighed. Leaning on the side of the chair Jack had been on, she stood and sat down, putting her head in her hand. She looked up at Jack, waiting....*
:Jack considered her a minute, handed her the food and sat on his bed staring at her a long while.:
"Ye know I have to admit I admire ye. yer damn stubborn. But ye got a strong will."
:He was silent a long moment: "I know ye don't trust me. I can respect that. and I won't ask why yer so hell bent on seeing the world as some dark evil place. I'll be th first to tell you I've seen some dark things, but there's some good in the world too......it's worth living for."
:Jack kept his eyes on her a long while, not releasing her from his stare. He flatly refused to let her off that easily. : "I figure the only way of keepin' you alive is to somehow understand what's going on in that head of yers........and I'm willin' to listen to you. If ye want to talk to me. We've got a whole week to either fight until we're both bleedin and dying.....or ye can talk to me......it's your choice. Either way. Yer here and so am I....."
:He waited and then finally rleased his stare from her and gestured to her food. He'd brought himself a apple: "Eat." He said simply, and he bit into his apple, watching her. He swallowed: "It's safe to eat ye know."
:Linea watched Roux as he went to see what was going on between Tobbs and Jack wondered what had made her jump overboard. She pushed the thought out her mind and watched the sun finish setting while she waited for Roux to come back. When he did, she smiled.:
I cannot wait for the morning then. Such a sight was the sunset that I am sure that sunrise will be magnificent. I thank you though, it was beautiful..truly.
