"Right then little mate, I'm sure Emma still wants her hair." Kalin plucked the little monkey out of Emma's hands and deposited him on the ground. Then he went to the fire and made another torch.
"I'm going in after the monkey. Someone find the Captain." He paused and smirked to himself. "check that. When the captain wanders back outta the jungle tell him what's going on. I'm going to find Fishy. Anyone who wants to come grab a torch and lets go."
That said Kalin bent down to Paul's level. "Alright little mate, you got our attention. Let's go then." And that said he lifted Paul onto his shoulder and strode into the jungle.

Jason eyed his twin a moment then nodded at him. "I'm coming with you then." He motioned to the camp, where a fair number of crewmen still lay or paced.
"I'm sure they can handle themselves." He said and grabbed a torch and walked in after his twin. He'd be damned if he let his little brother get into trouble. Once they were deep in the jungle Jason called out.
"FISHY!" His voice echoed around a bit before dying. "FISHY?!"

Emma yelped as Paul started tugging on her hair."OWWW!God dammit, isn' there a better way t'get me attention?"she demanded irritably, rubbing her head as Kalin took the monkey from her.Her bluegreen eyes scanned the camp one last time,as though to confirm that Fishy was gone and this wasn't just some random monkey attack...something she considered entirely possible after today's escapades. But there was no sign of her young crewmate. It troubled her that she hadn't noticed his absence before, but she didn't dwell on it.
Setting her jaw in determination, she snatched up a torch and lit it,marching off after Kalin,Jason, and Paul."FISHY?!"She demanded of the jungle."Fishy, lad, where've y'gone to?"

Rhys looked down a bit ashamed when Jason asked her how she had earned the cuts on her hands. She didn't know how to explain it. How do you explain that you did it to yourself? How did you tell someone you had inflicted pain on yourself to get revenge for all the people you had hurt?
She was saved from having to give an answer by Fishy's monkey, Paul. He jumped on Kalin and attempted to get his attention. Moving on to another woman, that Rhys did not recognize, he gave her a hug, also trying to get her attention.
Soon it was becoming agonizingly clear that Fishy was no longer with them and lost in the jungle. Rhys rose from where she was sitting and followed Jason towards the group. With Paul pointing the way, Rhys stepped out into the jungle once again. "Did anyone bring a torch?" she asked unable to see anything in front of her.

*Eric kept his eyes closed though he was still very much awake. He could feel Evelyn shifting about up against him, on him, curled into him and for a moment he wondered if he was making her uncomfortable. Or maybe it was other thoughts troubling her. He knew what that was like, old thoughts and memories used to overwhelm him to the point he thought nothing else had existed except darkness. But his life was brighter now, and he hoped that someday Evelyns would be too, even if he couldn't be the one to give that to her.
He felt her hand caressing his neck and his skin tingled. A faint smile formed on his lips though he struggled desperatly to hold it back, trying to appear like he had fallen asleep. He enjoyed her touch, it always brought him comfort. He wanted that comfort to be in his life forever, but he still wasn't sure if that would be possible.
He heard her speak to him and this time he let a full smile show, though his eyes remained shut and he wrapped his arms about her tighter.* You die...I die, so no matter what it will be my whole life. *He added in a soft, sleepy tone. He raised a brow and his eyes fluttered open at the sounds of a screetching Paul monkey. He groaned a little and plopped his head back down, nustling it up against Evys. It seemed some of the others had the situation under control and he was too tired now to be of any real use.*

Mark was suddenly skaked awake. He quickly drew his gun and put it to the persons head. He noticed it was Will. He lowered his gun.
"Sorry mate....didn't see who it was. What do ya want?"
He asked confused. He listened to the man's words with much care. He realized he didn't mean everyone. But he did mean most of them.
"I understand about your wife mate. It may have been wrong to call you a traitor, but still you could of came back for me....any of you could. I won't hold it against you cause I understand where you're coming from. But the others.....well they are still traitors to me....untill they tell me why they left me to die......Do you have any idea what that does to a man? hmmm? Don't be so quick to judge that which you don't understand. Sorry I have wrongly judged you. But my judgement stands with the others for now.......Savvy!?"
Mark said. He looked Will directly in the eyes. The truth was what happened to him hurt. It hurt deeply. Sure the pungi stick hurt, but he meant emotionally. He didn't feel all that wanted in the first place. But what had happened just reinforced that more. He thought about the event. He could understand that there was confusion. But to leave him and continue on. Was there no head count? He knew the rest of the crew wanted him to drop it and let it be but he could not. He got up for he could no longer sleep he looked around.
"Well they are pirates I suppose....but they aren't like the other pirates I met. They have a comradery....I suppose I just didn't fit into it or something."
He said to himself. He looked around once more. He had to make a tough decision. Stay with the crew....or leave and find the city on his own.........he didn't know what to do. At this point he just wanted to go home and forget all this ever happened. He walked over to an old tree stump and sat on it. He pondered for a few hours. He changed his bandages and was happy to notice the wound was closeing rather nicely. He was a little sickened when he noticed some larvae in it. He knew it was safe though, for they were cleaning the wound. But the thought of it unnerved him anyway. He stood up and walked back over to the spot he was sleeping. He fell back to sleep and took Will's words to heart. He was forgiven, but the others.........he could not find it in himself. He knew they would want him to forget it, and he wanted to, but he just couldn't for he never expected that would be the way he'd die. If it wasn't for Ryhs he would be dead. He owed her he knew. He figured she was his only friend at this point. He rolled over and looked at Fishy. An outcast like himself. He figured he would try and get to know him in the morning. It would be nice to have more people like himself to talk to. He felt as invisable as he was sure Fishy felt. But now he didn't mind. He only spoke to the others if spoken to now....the damage was done.

Evelyn smiled slightly at his comment and kissed his cheek lightly before she laid her head next to his briefly. His words were sincere and she sighed heavily. They were in this real deep now and she wasn't sure if either of them would survive if the other left, really...
I mean, Evelyn herself went into a slight spiral of self destruction once Eric left her side. It was rather that she could have cared less if she had been killed or not. She had only been living to fight, eat, and gain money and even though she felt freer then, she felt an emptiness that could NEVER be filled. Her heart ached when he wasn't around and she remembered the long nights of wallowing, how for two weeks straight she had drank herself to sleep.
It had been a wretched time. Just then, as a monkey screeched lightly Evelyn jumped and sat bolt upright. "GAH! Bloody flippin' HELL!" Evelyn shouted as she growled and stared at those still awake. She gave a glare at the monkey and then relented and simply smirked. "Well...would ye bloody keep it down? An' what the 'ell is a monkey doin' 'round us anyway?" Evelyn asked lifting a brow and looking the creature over curiously.
She shook her head, deciding NOT to wait for an answer to that and fell back to lay next to Eric, curling into him and giving a deep sigh. A small chuckle escaped her then and she smiled. "I SWEAR this bloody jungle is out ta get me..." She told him playfully as she tugged at his curls lightly. Eric had always been the sort of 'lighter' side of the two of them. He managed to bring a bit of cheer to them both and as she curled into him, she almost wished she could capture and bottle some of his general cheery ways for herself.
But she was restless and she knew this night wouldn't be an easy one to pass...although she clung to Eric desperately, there was barely any solace there. "Now if only ye could dig into my bloody head an' take out the nightmares..." she muttered a bit as she closed her eyes in a feeble attempt at sleep and draped her arm over him. The pools of soft moonlight streaming in on them and casting a soft glow over them both.

*Eric loosened his arms about Evelyn as she sat up at the sound of the monkey screetch. He laughed a little as she returned to curling into him and replaced his arms about her, running the finger tips of one hand about her back. He sighed heavily and his brown eyes slowly traced through the trees about them, then landed on Evelyn again.* Keep curling up into me and there'll be one more thing than the jungle out to get you. *He teased, kissing the top of her dark curly head.
Eric, being a guy, obviously thought of Evelyn in that type of manner at least once or twice. But he didn't want a repeat of that night they awoke to one another in a drunken state on the Pearl. There was still no proof whether they had or hadn't that night, he supposed they'd never really know. But somehow he just felt that moment still had yet to come for them.
He remembered the pain he had felt parting from her. For ages afterwards he could barely eat or laugh or even think straight. He had worked hours on end at the blacksmith shop just to keep his mind off her, though it never really worked. He had even turned to Elinor as if to take his mind off one woman and put it on another. He cared about Elinor, but not like she cared about him. He knew she wanted to marry him, but he could never bring himself to be more than her friend, it didn't feel right. If it hadn't been for Evelyns return though he would have given up hope on real love and just settled for company.
He swallowed hard and held Evelyn tightly, resting his cheek against her head. He loved her more than anything in the world, he knew without her he would never make it. His heart was forever hers now, whether she kept it or not. He opened his eyes and carefully looked her over as she said if only he could take away her nightmares. He tipped her head and tilted his, pressing his lips on hers in a deep, loving kiss that seemed to last for an age. As they stopped he rested his forehead against hers, his eyes still closed.* I'd give my life if it meant you'd never have too see such dark things in your sleep again. I promise I'll do all I can to take them away. *He whispered and kissed her again, swiftly but sweetly. He parted from her slightly and smiled at her, then pulled her into him again, shifting a bit so that her head rested in the crook of his neck. He wished he could take away her painful memories and nightmares, though in his heart he knew the only person that could really do that was her.*

As Eric spoke of something more being after her then just the jungles she lifted a brow and smirked up at him. "Really now...?" she asked with a sly grin. She had never heard him really say anything like that and it caught her a bit off gaurd really, but she wasn't really objecting to that kind of talk. The last time they were close to anything like that, they had been to drunk to remember. She almost shivered at the thought...hopefully nothing HAD occured that night. She wanted to be with Eric in a much more special way, even though she doubted she'd EVER find love in what was once used to torture her.
She wasn't exactly EAGER to do that either...she had been scarred really, and she could do without it, but somehow, she thought, that with Eric it would be different. She moved in closely and could sense her breath hit his neck gently. When she commented about the nightmares she bit her lip slightly as he lifted her lips to meet his and he kissed her deeply. She closed her eyes and responded but sighed heavily as he spoke.
His words were heartfelt and she couldn't belive his words. It sounded too good to be true really...and it frightened her a bit. It was if, she was afraid she'd lose this now...
"Eric...I know...'m sorry, I WISH I didn' have this either I jus'...don' worry 'bout me, alright?" She said in a voice that was almost pleading. She didn't want her problems to worry him or ever be a burden to him. They were her own and she didn't want to damage his spirit with her dark past. "I'd suffer countless sleepless nights so ye wouldn' have ta worry...honestly...jus'...forget about it..." She told him in a low whipser, a voice she made even more intimate by pressing her lips to his ear to voice them.
"An' besides...who'd be ABLE ta sleep next to ye anyway? Ye smell horrible..." she chuckled slightly as she lay an arm across him, placed her head in the crook of his neck, and closed her eyes. She could sense his soft breathing and it comforted her. Simply knowing he was well, and close by was enough for her...but THIS was something far beyond what she ever thought she could have...
Eve's right hand clung to his shirt then tightly...she wasn't about to let him go...

*Eric raised a brow and opened his eyes only a sliver as he looked down at her. He smiled a little and began to rub her head, running his fingers through her curls.* With all the intelligence you claim to have you should know its only natural to worry about someone you love. *He grunted sleepily. He yawned and frowned a little. He didn't want her holding things in just to keep from being a burden to him.* Evelyn, you know you could never be a burden to me. An annoyance sometimes, but not a burden. *He grinned, shutting his eyes again.
He swallowed hard and tensed a bit as she whispered in his ear. He relaxed again and laughed as she told him he smelled bad.* Well you can't exactly expect me to smell like roses you know. You dont smell too attractive yourself. *He said, now nearly completley asleep. Unable to keep awake any longer his breathing softened and he fell into a deep sleep, haunted by an awaiting Elinor and inevitable trip back to Port Royal.*

"But-"
*Tobbs caught herself, the hint of protesting fading when she thought over what he said. And then it hit her. Was she trying to convince Jack the jungle wasn't so bad? She almost laughed at herself for being, as it seemed, impatient really. She might've even been seen as desperate if it was carefully looked over- never underestimate the captain; whether by the sword, by outsmarting, or by bloody charm and honest words, he'd find some way to wind her up at loss of control over her own self.*
*But perhaps...perhaps it was, or at least half of, the fact that she didn't want to let the moment go away. For it was a moment; a moment Tobbs had never felt, or even really thought imaginable. And then, being so used to being left, and REALLY not liking it (as the last major fight the two had was over oddly enough), she didn't want to leave or move the scene anyway, in fear that tomorrow, or the moment he walked away, everything would jump back to normal...or worse...*
*She would never think Jack'd treat her worse for expressing all she did about him, but that fear of being weak and under one's purposing always knawed at her. Bad experiences. It wasn't him, just the shadow of the past again. Always hanging over her when something good happened...*
*But the kisses he let fall on her neck and her lips let all the overthinking sweep away, and she closed her eyes yet again at the feel of his touch. Bloody hell he was good. At this rate a wave of bugs could come crawling over her wouldn't be able to draw her attention away. And THAT was saying much for her.*
*When he pulled away, she gazed at him, tilted her head slightly and listened intently, wondering what thoughts were in his mind.*
'I don't want you thinking that.....that you're like all the rest.....I know ye heard about me and Tortuga.....but it's not like that.......yer not like that to me....ye won't ever be like that to me....savvy?'
*Now that was pretty heartfelt to Tobbs. Really heartfelt actually. She sighed lightly as another wave of emotion flittered its way in her. No one had ever really said anything so earnestly and lovingly to her before. Yet another thing that hit deep. She had indeed known about Jack and Tortuga, and while she viewed the ladies a bit lowly (probably jealousy ) she had never deemed Jack any other way than whom he was, in Tortuga and out. Now, with this subject brought up, she felt assured, about what he said yes, but more; it was like letting the knowledge of him caring for her finally soak in her mind. She wouldn't have to be nervous about how he felt anymore. Now she knew he could ACTUALLY care for her. And that was a pretty strong thought.*
*Nodding her head slightly to show she understood, as words might have made all the emotion she was feeling pour out, she continued keeping her eyes focused on his eyes, and his face, all around absorbing every trace of what he felt, what he was thinking, and keeping that mental picture of him in her mind. She again was lost in the feel of his gentle kisses on her neck. Perhaps that was a way to get to her, since every time he did it, she could've completely consented to whatever whenever. So captivating indeed.*
*She smiled softly as he took her hands and spoke, shifting her own self as he moved to let him find something else that was more comfortable. Her smile slowly curved more as he continued with his words, and while tingles again soared through her when he mentioned that he had wanted this and whatnot, she couldn't help but agree that having someone randomly walk up and being where they were and such wasn't the best notion. So again nodding faintly, she gazed back at him with her own smile.*
"An accord....savvy then, we have an accord!"
*She shook her head at the thought of agreeing after first starting out yelling at him really loudly. He'd really changed the situation around.*
"I suppose I'll just 'ave to suppress myself from taking any further action then; tough to resist captain."
*The teasing glimmer coming forth again in her eyes and the raise of her brow all returned familiarly, though shestill had an honesty in her voice that could definitely not be mistaken.*
"Aye Jack, I understand...and....thanks...for telling me all of this....'onestly...means so much to me..."
*She let her smile drop a bit and returned her hand on his cheek for a few seconds.*

::Jack exhaled sharply and nodded at her. sort of glad now that they had established some kind of even footing::
::Let now...well now made things a good deal less complicated.....or maybe it had just made things much more complicated. He'd have to ask Will about women sometime......::
::Jack arched an eyebrow sort of guessing what she was thinking....she didn't want this to end..neither did he. He smirked just a little bit....almost well......relaxed now that he knew how she felt about him::
"Just stay with me then. Talk." Jack said calmly, and sat up a bit straighter. "Savvy?" He waited, watching her, wondering if she'd get nervous and bolt or make up a reason to leave. He expected either one, having accepted that women came and went.....he just hoped Tobbs wouldn't::#nosmileys#nosmileys

*Michael had been walking beside Avery as the two had been talking silently beforehand. Selina was just a step in front of him, on the other side, and he had a contented feeling with the island...at first. Then, it just got suspicious.*
*Cruentus was flying ahead to spot what was beyond them. He looked towards the sky briefly, then went back to keeping along with the others. Things were growing tense. He sensed it. He could tell Selina sensed it. Not the best of situations.*
*And then Selina spoke to him briefly, a hint of concern in her voice. He let his hand slide in hers as he squeezed it very gently, then watched as she went up towards the captain.*
"The crew seems tense."
*He spoke to Avery now, whom he had met by means of the coconut offer.*
"What is to happen doesn't always seem the best of things. Perhaps we should ready ourselves, eh mate?"
*He had glanced over at the man briefly, as his attention was forming on those who whispered just behind them. Selina was up by Barbossa, and he hated to interferre. So he slipped up behind her and gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze as well, to let her know he was right there.*
*Whispering to her when he sensed Barbossa pondering, he kept his eyes on Bo;sun and the others.*
"Selina...don't worry, we'll find some clue soon. I'll try having another chat with the men."
*Nodding and heading off to them without hesitation, he noted the glances coming towards his way as he approached. Giving them a nod of greeting, Michael spoke up.*
"Well boys, seems our venture's just begun. Anything disliked so far? I'd say its turning out a bit nicer than expected, wouldn't you say?"

Evelyn's eyes closed and her breathing was a slow, long, rythmn, she was fighting all her nightmares at the moment. She didn't want to be so disturbed when she was around Eric but she growled lightly. Nothing could remedy this and she didn't understand why. It had all happened so long ago, and she DID feel peace or at least SOMEWHAT. Her honeyed eyes then looked to Eric's face and she gently lifted herself away from him.
She lay a gentle kiss on his lips before lifting away and then sighing heavily she looked around. Most of th crew was still about, some had settled in, finding a secluded area, yet she was still able to make out most of them. Eve felt that ominous feeling once more. The calm buzz of the many critters in the jungles was unnerving for one thing, and the soft sound of a growl wasn't exactly comforting either.
What Eve wanted, was to go out and take a bit of a walk. It helped take her mind off things sometimes and she sat there next to Eric for a few moments, simply peering over at him before she slowly stood, dusted herself off a bit and decided to risk it. "I'll be gone fer a bit...be back in a while..." Evelyn muttered over her shoulder at any of the crew that remained fighting the sleep that was engulfing them all.
Her hand rested upon the hilt of her sword as she tied it on, and she tied her hair all back under a dirty scarf. It was beginning to annoy her greatly and she even considered simply chopping it off here and now. But this faded as she began to wander into the deep greenery of it all. Her eyes passing over the lush plants and she avoided anything that even REMOTELY resembled a snake.
Something scuttered quickly away from her on the ground and she paused, held her breath, but then proceeded on. It was indeed very beauitful here, despite all its dangers. A few of her curls fell around her face and she brushed them back but they continued to rebel. She looked a bit possesed at the moment. Every now and again she'd let out a mutter and would give a small growl, cursing her past and then when she came upon a stream she finally paused.
The clear waters ran calmly, and Eve looked at it a bit suspiciously. After deeming it too shallow for any fish as big as pirahna she stooped down and splashed a bit of the pristine waters onto her face and on the back of her neck...it was refreshing...but the swirl of memories lingered on and Evelyn squeezed her eyes shut. Another headache...and another rough night...

*Another smile danced upon her lips as Jack told her to stay with him then and talk. She wondered if he had in fact wanted to leave her, and find some reason to. But now it seemed he wished to stay...which really made her happiness brew a bit more.*
"Talk, you say? Hmmm..."
*She toyed with the answer, as if critically thinking over the matter a few times before actually giving her thoughts.*
"Savvy. I'll stay with ye."
*She was really relieved, in all honesty. I mean, she wanted to stay with him , be next to him, near him. All of it. So now was such an option. Off course she'd take it. Stretching slightly to let her arms loosen up, she kept her eyes on him still, the frisky playfulness again merging forth by show from the shadow in her eyes.*
"Well then Jack, I'm supposed to keep a level of control then, eh? Hmmm...might be 'ard, but ah well. Always keepin' me waitin'!"
*She laughed softly and brushed a stray hair behind her ear, her focus suddenly turning to a loud buzzing noise that soared passed her. She recognized the flying creature immediately, and tried ushering the bee (a bit large by the looks of it) away with her hand. Not being really good with tiny ickle creepy crawlers/slitherers, she glanced up at Jack and whispered.*
"Bloody 'ell! It's not goin' away..."
*She frowned slowly and curled up a bit next to Jack as the bee flew close again. She would've swatted it away, but well, she didn't really want to budge at the moment. Daft insects...*
