Rhys's mind was slowly going through every horrible thing that had happened in her life. She could feel the hands of various men all rolled into one. She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out. She was frozen, unable to move, unable to make a sound. She could do nothing but wait for it to pass.
She wanted to curl up in a little ball and hide away from the world, but she could not. She was stuck. She could feel everything. It was as if she was experiencing her past again. Slowly, painfully slowly, the moment passed. However, it drifted to the battle just a few days earlier. She could feel the force it took to the plung the knife into flesh.
She could feel the blood on her hands. Suddenly, she was surrounded by the sound of hearts beating. It was loud and drowned out the silence. However, one by one, second by second, all the hearts slowed down to an eventual stop. She was surrounded by silence almost as unbarable as the noise.

Sarah watched as Evelyn walked away into the jungle to look for Rhys and Mark. She looked at Eric and shrugged, then went running after Evelyn. Evelyn, wait up. Sarah caught up to her, slightly out of breath. You shouldn't go into the jungle by yourself you know...

Tasha's boat reached the shore first. She hopped up and let the others pull it to shore. She was still mad at them for hurting her hand and didn't care if they got mad at her for leaving them to do all the work. Tasha wore a turquoise gown that she had almost always worn. She had thought she didn't look very much like a pirate when she wore the dress so she slashed the it with her sword a bit so it was torn in various places. She liked it better this way and since she had been wearing it since she stole it from some duchess's boat, it was a bit bloody and dirty. She breathed in the air, it felt good to be on land.

*Eric was breathing heavily as he pulled Evelyn back and laughed heartily as she embrassed him, saying he was at least good for something. He rose as she did, placing his hands on her shoulders as she turned and looked the bridge over once more.* Im thinking your choice is to stay here then. *He stated as she nudged him. He flashed her a grin and winked, hating the fact they still had to cross that thing.
Or at least attempt to cross it. His eyes strayed towards the hold Evelyn had fallen through and he took a deep breath, knowing she was right. They hadn't come all this way to turn around now. Eric snikered at her last comment.* Keep in mind I can only save you so many times before my arms get tired. *He grunted.
He watched as Will and Jack decided to cross the bridge first and all at once everything started happening too fast to keep track of and before he knew it the two men were out of sight. His eyes grew wide and he gasped. He shook his head in disbelief as Evelyn brushed past him but didn't say anything at first. He followed her over to the cliffs edge and carefully peered over, trying to see Jack and Will.
He watched Emma make her way to the bottom and he chewed his lip, hoping she would find the others. His attention was adverted when Evelyn stood up and wathed the other cliff.* Since when did you have any sort of concience? *He asked as he stepped next to her and gave her a nudge, crossing his arms and looking down at her. He saw that she seemed a bit uneasy, and in turn, he wasnt too sure of himself at the moment. He sighed heavily and didn't tear his eyes away from Evy. They were on good terms at the moment, and he'd used up all the time he could to simply look at her. Because with Evy you never really knew just how long the good terms would last. He laughed at her answer.
He eyed Sarah as the lass came over and elbowed Evelyn back. He frowned when he realized some more of the crew had went missing and he folded his arms again. He watched her go, raising a brow as he heard her voice echo back to the clearing and Sarah took off after her. To be honest he hadn't expected that. He pondered following himself but decided he should stay behind and comfort Elizabeth who by now was in a panic. He placed his arm about her shoulders and she squeezed his hand to the point where he thought it'd fall off.* He's alright, Elizabeth I'm sure. *He stated as she trembled and tears came to her eyes. He smiled at her and his eyes drifted back to the jungle, hoping Evelyn would be fine, as well as Sarah and that they'd find Mark and Rhys.*

*Will made his way through the thick forest, holding tightly to Elizabeths hand and keeping her as close to him as possible. Now and again he would glanced over at Jack who was intently watching the map, and he smiled a little. As they hit a clearing Wills eyes went wide at the site of the rickety bridge, that Eric had just saved Evelyn from falling to death on.
Slowly his eyes strayed to his wife and he raised a brow.* I knew we weren't going to get off so easily. *He said flatly, looking back at the cliffs edge. He was torn from his thoughts as Jack called out his name. He looked at the man as if he were joking, but quickly realized he wasn't. He gave Elizabeths hand a squeeze and then released it.* Do not come out on that bridge until you know for sure it's safe enough. *He said and found himself being nudged along the rickety boards.
His hands clung tightly to the fraying ropes on the edges and he tried not to look down, but of course thats never possible and so look down he did. Suddenly there was a small popping noise.* Well I dont like that sound of tha-- *He began nervously when suddenly there was a snap. In a flash he was clinging to the boards as the bridge half smashed into the cliff side. He yelped and his eyes darted up towards Jack who was still clinging on for dear life.
He glarred a little and muttered under his breath.* Nothing ventured nothing gained, now you've gone and bloody got me killed! *He grumbled and suddenly the bridge gave way and they were falling again. All he could do was blink. Elizabeth ran through his mind, then what it was going to feel like to be impaled on the rocks below, then his wife again.
He felt himself smash into something, a loud crack echoing off the cliffs and he thought he was dead. But sitting up, looking most horrified, realized he was still alive. And Jack as well who was motioning to him to use the vines. He nodded slowly and quickly tied it about himself with shaking hands. He was about to mentally forgive the pirate captain when the tree roots started to come free and he glarred at Jack mouthing "Im going to kill you for this" to him.
The tree fell and Will squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to see when the moment of his death would be, not wanting to know when he'd be seperated forever from his wife and their future together that got cut so short. As they hit the water Will instinctivly took a breath and again realized he wasn't yet dead. He clung to the tree as they came to a calm in the river but the peace ended just as soon as it had begun.* Uh oh *He groaned.
He nodded as Jack said they were about to go over a waterfall.* Yes.....yes we are. *He said flatly, eyeing the Captain as he mentioned the sharp rocks. This little trip was just getting greater with every second.* With our luck, rocks, pirahnas and a lot of cannibal natives. *He answered, rolling his eyes. At this point it wouldn't surprise him.
As they went over the waterfall he felt himself slam up against a rock and everything went black. He felt something shake him and he grumbled but didn't move a muscle nor open his eyes. He groaned again as he heard Jack laughing like a mad man. A moment later fingers were on his pulse, followed shortly after by a stream of loud yelling which quickly faded as his mind went black again.*

Evelyn looked around as Sarah followed her and she looked back at her. When she spoke Eve turned her eyes away from her. "Really?" Evelyn asked Sarah as she lifted a chocolate brow. "Its not like yer gonna stop me..." Eve told her giving her a nudge and then glancing about. She decided she'd retrace her steps, follow it back as far as she safely could to the cannibal village.
Suddenly as the minutes passed Eve heard a small groand and looked to her right, over her shoulder, and pulled out her pistol. She furrowed her brows and looked to Sarah. "Be careful mate..." she told her softly as she put up an arm to slow Sarah's pace down. She pulled back the hammer of her pistol and peered down into the greenery and she spotted Rhys. "RHYS!" she called and she ran to her side and knelt down. Attempting to shake her awake Rhys remain out of it.
Evelyn slapped her face gently and then prodded her a bit. "Rhys? Bloody 'ell mate, DON' MAKE me carry ye all the way back!" She said with a small growl looking her over. Rhys was wounded and she bit her lip slightly, worried that she might have lost too much blood. But the simply humidity was enough to wear someone down. Looking over she spotted Mark as well and she gave a faint smile. "Mark! Good ta see ye..." he was seemingly patched up and it looked as if he could walk. "I HOPE ye can walk mate, because there's only SO many people I can carry, savvy?" Eve told him with a glint in her eye.
How could she have forgotten either of them? She shook her head and instead put away her pistol and then swung Rhys so she was flung over her shoulder. Her arm was bleeding and she knew that would need patching up, but with Eve out here in the middle of the jungle with naught but two badly wounded pirates and Sarah she doubted they could put up too good of a fight.
As Evelyn stood with Rhys upon her shoulder she stumbled a bit. It was hard trying to carry her through the forests with Eve having an injury herself, Rhys' blood dripping onto her shirt, the humidity fighting her, and having to keep Rhys completely on her shoulder so as she didn't slip off. "Sarah, help out Mark. You can help him walk back, stay close." She told them with a small smile and with that they were off towards the cliff.
She only hoped they reached Rhys in time and this unconscious state was purely temporary. She reached the crew again without much incident and buckled a bit out of pure fatigue, but managed to set Rhys on the ground. "Found 'em..." Was all Evelyn said before she fell to her knees and attempted to catch her breath.

Mark looked at Ryhs as she fell. He tried to support her but he could not. He saw Evy come out of the forest. His eyes filled with fire, but they quickly faded to a candles flame. He figured he couldn't be to angry at her, she did come back after all. He would give the others a good chewing.
"Evy! Did you remember us finally!? Help me with Ryhs... and it is good to see you, although I wish it were under different cercumstances."
Mark said getting to his feet with an effort. They began to walk to where the others were. His side was beginning to feel better, though it still felt like he was dying. He winced with every step. He could hear a river up ahead and smiled a bit. His face quickly became sour when he spotted the rest of the crew. They all seemed to be looking down at something and they were yelling. ' What the hell is going on 'ere ' he though to himself.
"What happened!"
He yelled. He ran as fast as he could to the side of the cliff. A bridge had collapsed and it seemed that Jack and Will had gone down with it. He was suddenly mixed between divine anger for the captain and sorrow. He did not want the man dead, but he did want to know why he was left behind. He bent over the edge of the cliff and yelled out.
"Jack! Will! What did u blimey idiots do this time!?"
He rolled back over and looked at the sky. ' What a day! ' he thought to himself. In this odd time he decided to take a nap. He could use one. It wasn't like he could do anything for now. In time his wounds would heal and he would be able to join the fray again in due time.

*Eric patted Elizabeth gently on the back as she turned away from him and inched towards the cliff, watching the activity below to see if she could find out whether or not her husband was alright. Tears streamed down her cheeks though she was silent.
Eric sighed and turned away as he heard noise coming from the jungles. He placed his hand upon the handle on his pistol though he waited to draw it, wanting to see first if it was Evy and the others. To his relief it was and he smiled brightly, rushing towards them. He glanced over at Mark as the man ran over to the cliff and he frowned a little. The man looked like he had seen better days.
His frown grew and he was about to go over to the now napping guy when he saw Evelyn drop to her knees. He rushed over to her, dropping to her side as he eyed her nervously. As far as he could tell nothing serious had happened to her in the jungle, but he didn't want to risk it.* Evelyn are you alright? Do you need to lie down for a little while? *He asked, rising to his feet and extending his hand out to her.*

Evelyn sighed heavily as she laid Rhys down and then made to dress her wound, she cleaned the dirt from it then tied a bit of her sash around it. It would keep it from bleeding so much. Evelyn looked her sash over and shook her head. "Bloody 'ell 'm almost out 'f bandages..." Evelyn muttered as she toyed with it for a moment. Looking ahead she saw as Mark had gone to the side of the cliff and she glared at him slightly. He had said ONE thing that had gotten under her skin again, but she figured she'd let it pass for the moment.
Evelyn was too exhausted to do anything at the moment really. Even when Eric had knelt by her side she turned her eyes to him but barely had the strength to say anything. "Eric..." she smiled faintly as she placed a hand upon his cheek lightly and then allowed it to slip off of his face. As he asked if she was alright she looked back towards the cliff and sighed heavily. "Meh...I'll live I s'ppose..." Eve grunted a bit as she took his hand and stood up right in front of him. She smirked but shook her head and closed her eyes.
"Its jus' too bloody hot, an' SHE Was too bloody heavy." Eve groaned a bit as she looked down at Rhys. "What 'bout you? Managed to stay in one piece while I was away I see." Eve stated as she gave him a wink and ruffled up his hair a bit. Her own still clung to her skin and really, she felt like simply falling over and laying down, but she wasn't one to state she needed help so openly, so instead she leaned most of her weight on Eric in a non-chalant manner. Although, she half expected he knew her well enough to catch on to what she was up to.

::Least he was breathing. He frowned as he supported the taller, but slightly lighter man's weight with his arm: "Oy...Will.....come on lad....wake up there....we made it...and we have to get back up this damn cliff...come on now...."

Sarah put an arm under Mark's and helped him walk towards the rest of the group. They walked in silence. When the reached the camp Mark ran to the edge of the cliff. Sarah walked over towards Evelyn and Rhys. I watch after Rhys, don't worry. Sarah poured a little water on a cloth and gently laid it on Rhys forehead.

*Erics brow furrowed and his lips drooped as he looked Evelyn over as she rose to her feet. It was obvious she was light headed. He glanced between Rhys and Mark and was glad to see that they were both okay. However he was starting to regret now that he had stayed behind. If he had went he could have carried Rhys, but he couldn't change that now.
As she ruffled his hair he grinned a little and brushed her hand away.* You have a strange obsession with my hair you know. *He grunted and winked. A moment later he felt her putting practically all of her weight on him, too much just to be leaning into him. He sighed heavily and rolled his eyes, throwing his arms about her, holding her in hopes to support her more.* You really should lay down you know, at least until Jack, Will, and the others come back up. Admit it, you could use some rest. *He said, looking down at her with warm, pleading eyes.
He was worried about what kinds of things were still waiting for them once they drew nearer to the Golden City. If Evelyn was tired and weak now she'd only get worse and he worried about whether or not she could defend herself. Either way he wasn't leaving her side now as far as he could help it.*

*After a second batch of silence and darkness passed through Wills mind he felt someone hoist him up to his feet and then came Jacks voice. Will groaned a little but his eyes fluttered open and after a bit of blinking they instantly locked on Jacks and he smiled.* Im glad to see youre still alive, Jack! *He exclaimed and then his eyes narrowed.* That way I can kill you myself. *He snapped, managing to support his own weight now.
He glanced around at the others who were now with him and the Captain and he took a deep breath, looking himself over and was surprsingly unhurt. He glanced up at the tall cliffs edge above them and shook his head a little.* That was insane...just not even right. *He said, still shaking his head. It seemed like they had come up with a plan of escape while he had been out cold and he was more than willing to get back up to the crew and Elizabeth.
Suddenly he laughed, reaching over and giving Jack a firm smack on the shoulder. He eyed the man a moment and grunted a little.* I don't know why we're not dead yet. *He said and tugged a little on one of the vines, glancing up as he heard the faint voice of Mark shouting down at him and the Captain. He smirked.* We went for a dip! *He called back up.*

Evelyn smirked as he commented on her having an obsession with his hair and she sighed. "Ye know what...yer right..." she told him as she nudged him very slightly. "THAT'S gotta be the reason fer my attraction ta ye, because we both know it isn' yer 'witty' personality that pulls me in." She chuckled as she looked down at Sarah who tended to Rhys. Her eyes travelled to Elizabeth and Mark as they continued to peer over the edge of the cliff. Their eyes looking down into the gorge and by the shouts coming from both ends it seemed everything was alright.
"I swear, if I die before EITHER Will er Jack then you can PERSONALLY inscribe 'Biggest Idiot of the Pearl' on my headstone." Evelyn chuckled as Eric wrapped his arms about her. When he told her she could use some rest she shrugged. Eve was never one to admit to needing help so easily so she shrugged. " I'll be alright mate. Don' worry 'bout it..." She stated with a heavy sigh, deeply happy that he had held her. "Ye know I, I hate the bloody jungle..." Eve said a bit randomly. "Everything bloody moves, they're too many bleedin' monkeys, Christ KNOWS how many snakes there are 'bout here, not ta mention there's no air..." Evelyn huffed as she gave a glare to the jungles as if daring it to bother her anymore.
"Once we get the gold an' leave headin' BACK to Port Royale I'll be happy..." She growled a bit then settled her head back, resting it near the crook of his neck. "An' ye know, 'm startin' ta realize yer bloody tree like height is actually useful. I mean, ye can reach things I can't, yer able ta block the sun from me if I stand at JUST the right angle behind ye, AN' yer PERFECT as a headrest." She laughed as she placed her hands upon his. She twined her fingers in his and felt the calluses on his hands. Obviously from hard work in the Blacksmith and even his build felt a bit sterner.
This only brought back the memory of Port Royale again, and Elinor. Evelyn cringed at this and pulled his arms about her tighter, afraid that when they DID get back to Port Royale they might just reach the same conclusion as before and he'd leave...it shook her to the core to think of it and she attempted pushing it out of her mind...but still it lingered and plagued her...as if she didn't have ENOUGH to chew at her mind......
