*Will felt Maria stir beneath his hands that were lightly shaking her shoulders and his eyes scanned her face as her own blinked open. She sat up slowly and obviously grogily and he grinned slightly, knowing what was wrong. A hang over was coming on which were never fun, especially at her age. He could tell she wasn't exactly focusing by the way she was acting.* Maria, are you okay? *He asked, wondering if she remembered what happened.
He glanced about the room a bit and grabbed up a small piece of cloth, holding it out the port hole until the cool rain had soaked it through and he brought it back over to her, placing it on her forehead.* There you go mate, that should help a little. *He said, still looking her over. He wasn't sure why but he felt a need to watch over this girl, protect her.
Suddenly he heard a bit of commotion up on deck and he looked at Maria with a raised brow and a curious grin on his lips.* Never a dull moment on the Pearl, eh? *He asked with a grin, not really expecting any answers. He sat down beside her on the bench and rubbed his hands over his face and through his hair.* You should go lie down in your cabin. Can you walk or do you need me to carry you? *He asked, hoping to help her to her cabin so he could find his wife.*

*Maria pushed his hand away from her* " 'm fine.." * She tried to stand but found her legs too weak too walk. She fell back into the cot and looked up at Will* " Actually, I need 'elp.." * She was admitted to defeat and found it quite uncomfortable*

Eve sat there with her eyes closing on her a bit before she sensed a bit more weight being added onto the mattress. Evelyn's eyes fluttered open and she looked aorund. The rocking of the ship was getting quite violent and the sound of thunder was becoming a bit frightening. "Bloody 'ell..." she groaned as she made to stand but figured the crew could handle it for now. She was quite worn out really, in more ways than one.
As Eric looked to her and spoke she gave a small smirk. It was all still a bit strange really. Not too long ago she was afraid, cursing inside really, and she hated being around him. Now, however, it seemed her world had turned so quickly and although a few questions lay in her mind she didn't have the heart to speak her mind at the moment...a rare thing for Evelyn indeed.
"Interesitn'?" she asked him giving him a smirk and crawling towards him slowly and scooting up to sit next to him. "Well...I'm glad I'm not borin' ye every second...unlike SOME people I know..." She told him with a soft laugh and poked him gently in the side. She pulled the blanket tightly around him and rested her head upon his shoulder a bit. Not truly knowing how quickly she could get back to being so close with him again. "Ye know...that whole couple weeks ye left, I couldn' sleep...haha. Never thought I'd ever even SEE ye again...but here we are. Funny isn' it?" she asked him as she looked up at him and smiled.

*Will grinned a little as she brushed his hand away and he gave a soft laugh. She was already becoming quite the independent lass, of course her actions did seemingly exceed her age. Of course being on a pirate ship probably did force one to grow up faster, harden a bit. It wasn't an easy life.
He gave a nod as she finally admitted she needed his help, although he already knew she would. He hoisted her up and carried her up the stairs, glancing about until he found her cabin and he sat her in a chair inside.* There you go mate. *He said, stumbling a bit as the ship shifted in the storm. As he steadied himself he gave her a nod.* Right, so I'll be off then. If you need anything you know where my cabins at. *He said and rushed off to find Elizabeth.*

*Eric laughed through yet another yawn as he stretched his arms and let his head rest sleepily against the wall. He watched through slightly drooped lids as she came over and sat beside him. He leaned his head against her own as she rested it against his shoulder and he sighed heavily.* Evy, you couldn't be boring if you tried. *He grinned, his eyes darting towards the port hole as lightning flashed through the sky, sending an angry roar of thunder across the waves as the room lit brightly for a moment and grew dim again, lit now by only a few small candles.
She spoke again and he looked at her, returning her smile as he gave a bit of a nod.* It is funny considering just this morning we were annoyed by eachother. But then you were annoyed with me when we first met too. And all I did was sat on a barrel. *He stated and turned playfully thoughtful.* Bad things happen to me when Im near barrels. *He grunted, another clap of thunder reverberating through the tiny cabin.* I had trouble sleeping too but I have a feeling now that it wont be so hard. *He winked, yawning again.
His ears perked up at the sounds of the crew hurrying about up on deck, there was an obvious commotion of some sort but frankly he was too sleepy now to go check it out. He figured it would be resolved soon enough and he'd hear what happened in the morning. He glanced down at Evelyns hand and scooped it up between his own, for a moment having a fleeting though about Luis, what he would do about this new 'couple'. He wondered if he should even bring it up, finally decided that now was better than never.* What do you think Luis'll do? *He asked casually.*

Evelyn looked downward as he scooped up her hand and gave a small smile. "Luis? Hm...well," she said lifting a brow and looking ahead, concentrating on a melting candle. "He might get a bit angry...I mean he HAS been rather 'friendly' with me lately...a bit TOO friendly really." She said with a laugh remembering earlier on when she was in his cabin. "Haha...ye know, when ye pushed him up against the bloody wall today? He has a big bruise from tha'!" she told him as she looked up from his shoulder and sighed heavily. "He took the liberty of allowin' me ta check his body over..." she said stealing a side glance up at Eric and giving a short laugh.
Evelyn made to lean into Eric a bit and spread the blanket over herself, allowing him JUST a bit of blanket really. Eve had always been a rather selfish sleeper. Actually, now that her eyes were slowly drooping she blinked and shook herself awake a bit. If she slept here...no. Well...perhaps tonight she wouldn't get it really. "Jus' so ye know mate, if ye end up hearin' me mumble a bit in the middle o' the night..." she began a bit awkwardly. "Don' pay it any mind, savvy? I tend ta mumble odd things..." she told him with a sigh. In fact, the odd things she did mumble were actually quite relevant to her past. She had found that her memories of her past were beginning to leak through more often and she didn't know why.
"Don' know WHY I do it really..." she lied as she gave a bit of a groan and closed her eyes a bit. "D'ye know I was born durin' a snowstorm?" Evelyn asked him as she watched the rain pound from outside the port hole. She gave a small laugh. "I used to love tha' story..." she began as she made small cirlces with her finger in Eric's palm. "My dad would go an' tell me that I was born on the most cold, bitter, and terrible snow storm he ever remembered..he used to say that God felt bad for the world having to go through that kind o' storm and he used ta say to make up for it, he sent the only warmt he could and that's why I was born." She said getting lost in thoughts of her father.
It had been a LONG time since she had freely allowed herself to think of him. It pained her to do so, but she thought she owed it to Eric, to let him know a bit about herself. So that he could keep a piece of her many would never know.

*Eric gave an almost annoyed grunt at her mention of Luis being a little too friendly and he gave her a side long glance when she brought up the bruise he'd given the man. To be honest he was proud about that, espeically considering he hadn't been at his most angry point at the moment.* Yeah well let that be a warning to him. *He muttered. He grinned a little as she gave him a small bit of the blanket.* Well aren't you the generous one. *He said with a small laugh.
When she mentioned if she mumbled at all to ignore it he raised a curious brow. Did this mean then that she was staying in his cabin for the night? He wondered for a moment if it was because of him...or because of the storm. Either way he gave a small nod.* Ill try not to. *He replied, wondering what kinds of things slipped through her lips in the dark of the night.
He looked at her with intrest and shook his head at her question.* No, you never told me. *He said, looking her over. His eyes went to his palm as she messed with it and then back up at her. He smiled at her story and he could tell by her voice and eyes that it was one she held dear. She was obviously close to her father.* It sounds like your father was a good man. A smart one too, since he was right. *Eric said, giving her a wink.* I was just born one day in the summer, there was nothing special about it really. Except that my father went out and got dead drunk. He never did that kind of thing, he always wanted to keep a squeaky clean image. *He stated, his voice thoughtful, his eyes gazing into distant memories. He smiled a little.* He was a good man, even if England did turn their back on him. *He said with a small shrug.*

Evelyn sighed heavily and looked up at him as he complimented her on her generosity. "Consider yerself lucky, mate!" she told him with a laugh and giving him a playful nudge. "If I didn' hold ye dear ta my heart I'd be curled up in the corner with the blanket tightly 'round me. Yer lucky ye get any blanket at all." she told him with a wink. When he commented about her father she bit her lip a bit. "Aye, that he was. A good man an' a smart one too. He was just so bloody warm, ye know? I think...maybe it was because o' how he was with me, and because o' memories o' my poor mother, tha's what kept me goin' on the Devil's Wrath. To know that somethin' THAT wonderful had once existed in the world, I always thought that this place couldn' be TOO bad if it had people like THEM every once in a while, ye know?" Evelyn's voice was soft and almost in a whisper.
Then she thought of her mother, her mother's dark curls, her warm eyes. Then the sight of her dying came into mind and she was suddenly glad Eric had talked of his own parents. "Oh really? Jus' one day in summer, eh? Well, yer not bloody special like I am I s'ppose." Evelyn said as she gave a small laugh. Her hands let go of his and instead she curled into him, letting her arm drape over him lazily. "England turn their back on 'im? What DID happen with yer parents Eric?" she asked looking up from resting her head on his chest and searching his face a bit.
It looked as if he too had a painful past and she bit her lip. She almost regretted asking, but he'd have ta tell her sooner or later she supposed. As would she...one day he might ask about EVERYTHING that had happened to her. She shivered at the thought and pulled the blanket about her tightly. If he ever knew the extent of it all, she wondered what he woudl REALLY think of her then. He knew she had been used before...but he didn't know the details, or 'bout the lashings on her back...or any of the other horrors she had faced. She shook this out of her mind though and instead, rested upon his chest, gently closing her eyes.
Eve had never felt this warm, this comfortable, or this safe ever before...at least not since her home in England when she was young. She could sense Eric breathe beneath her and it was a comfort really. To know that he was close by and couldn't slip off in the night was something she needed at the moment.

*Erics lips formed a lopsided grin as he glanced down at her and chuckled.* Ah I'd get it back eventually. You're small enough to take on. *He said and listened intently as she spoke about her father and her mother. He frowned a bit at her mention of the Devils Wrath. It hurt him to think she had went through so much pain in her past, and hoped she never would again.
He was glad to hear though that she had people in her past who had cared greatly about her. He laughed a little, tipping his head back sleepily and blinking up at the dark ceiling.* Haha I suppose Im not. *He grinned, referring to being special. As she curled into him he smiled, letting his arms fall about her. As she asked about his parents his frown returned and fleeting images of them darted through his mind and he closed his eyes. He figured he should tell her.* They were both prominate aristocrats my parents. But not the pompus kind, they were warm...human unlike most of the rich. *He began and he paused for a moment. Speaking of their deaths was always hard for him.* I had a sister once who was blind. She was younger than me by two years. Well when I was ten my father fired two men from his company and those men set our house on fire. My sister and I were trapped on the second floor and I went to find a way out but when I got back...she'd breathed in too much smoke and I couldnt save her. Thats when my father realized we were up there and he came in through the window and got us both out.
*He stated, his voice lowering at the remembrence of his sisters death. He sighed heavily as he continued.* Those men framed my father and the police thought he did it and charged him for my sisters murder. He was hung in front of everyone he once called his friends. *Eric said, shaking his head and swallowing hard.* After that my mother and I lost everything. When I was 15 she died of tuberculosis and thats when I came back to Port Royal. *He said, now very deep in thought. He wrapped his arms tighter around Evelyn to further comfort himself, resting his chin atop her head. He wondered about her own past at that moment, wondering if he should bring it up or let it be until she chose to speak of it. He chose to let her memories of the Devils Wrath show themselves in her own time and instead brought up her own parents.* What about your parents, Evy?

Evelyn looked up at his face as he spoke of his past and she frowned. She wrapped her arms about his waist and clung to him tightly. "I'm sorry mate...really." She said simply. "I know my words don' mean much in a situation like this, but, its all I can give ye really." She told him peering up at him and moving up to place a soft kiss on his lips. She rested once again on his chest. He had lost so many and she hoped he'd never lose anyone like that again. But then her thoughts turned to Ashley and she bit her lip.
"Don' worry mate, ye won' ever lose, me? Savvy? Haha...even though ye might try ta abandon me at some random place...ye can' get rid of me now 'm 'fraid." Evelyn told him with a strong voice, attempting to sound reassuring, but really she couldn't be all THAT comforting considering the lifestyle she led. Then he asked of her parents and she closed her eyes slightly. "Well...my mother died when I was ten, oddly enough. I don' remember much. Jus' the doctor comin' in and my father dragging me from my room. My mother gave me a necklace, still have it too. But anyway, she died in bed of somethin' or other, never really quite sure o' what." At this Evelyn reached out for Eric's hand, squeezing it gently. "But I remember my father cryin'. That was the ONLY time I ever saw a man cry, and HIM. My father NEVER cried. EVER...not even when we were slowly losin' everythin'. Or when he had to have a bullet taken out of his side. Just when my mother died...I'll never forget that..." she stated with a slight shiver and burying her face in Eric for a moment or two.
"Then I spent most o' my time with my father in his map making shop. He taught me all he knew and I even assisted in makin' maps for him. He taught me lots o' things there. His theories 'bout the world. Always said ta sail was somethin' that took a lot o' sand."
She sighed heavily. "He was jus'...jus' SO smart. He'd read ta me all kinds o' books an' things. Wanted me to grow up an' make somethin' of myself. He always wanted to pull his family out of the status we were in...we were never really rich people. He was just, so strong, so warm, ye know? Had these great big boots and I used ta take 'em off for him everynight while he sat in front of the fire. I never even had many friends really..." she said slowly as she sighed heavily and clung tightly to Eric once again.
"...most o' the children thought I was dirty and I looked like a boy..." she said with a laugh. "I NEVER was too keen on keepin' up my hair so my dad would jus' chop it for me really short." Evelyn eyes lit up a bit. It had been SO long since she had remembered any of this that now she thought of it, it came to her as if it were new again. "Well anyway, long story short...bunch o' pirates invaded, an' my father was killed. The whole town burned that day an' I managed to stow away on a ship." She said but as Evelyn began to trail into the waters of speaking about the Devil's Wrath Evelyn shook her head and stopped herself.
"An' tha's that really." she told him. The rocking of the ship brought her back to reality and she looked about as the candles barely gave a glow now. Evelyn's honeyed eyes looked up at Eric and gave a smirk. "Hope yer sure 'bout all this..." she told him giving him a wink and meaning their whole relationship. "I'm not 'xactly what ye might have thought mate..." Evelyn's voice fell a bit as she looked away from him and she closed her eyes a bit. If he ever knew about this...about her past, about what happened...would he even think of her the same way?
She shrugged it off and instead reveled in being in the moment. She buried her face in him once again. She took in the smell of him. He smelled of wood and salt and she smiled. She was beginning to note a few details about him. Differences really, but she'd comment on them in the mornin'. "Now go ta sleep, an' no more stupid bloody questions...I mean I know its hard for ye an' all...but...." she told him sighing heavily and shifting a bit to pull the covers up around her a bit more.
She somehow felt tonight would be a calmer sleep for her. A kind of deep sleep she hadn't had for a while...and she was greatful to Eric for it...with him in her arms, she was where she wanted to be finally, after a WHOLE year of longing and wishing. She prayed desperately this would last...and that it wasn't all just some pleasant dream in the morning.

*Eric smiled and nodded a little, his chin still atop her head as he closed his eyes.* They mean a lot, Evy. *He said, and he meant it. Her words, no matter how complex or simple, did bring him comfort. She was all he had really, outside of the Turners. Sure there was Elinor but she was really just someone to entertain his lonliness, nothing more.
He laughed a little at what she had to say next, shifting beneath her a little so his legs were bent beside him and not hanging over the edge of the bed.* You can't get rid of me now either. You're stuck with me for good. *He returned with a sleepily laugh. When she mentioned how her father had been the only man she'd seen cry he remembered the few times he himself had let tears fall in front of her. Which wasn't something he did often in the presence of others.
As she held him tighter and spoke about her fathers death he could tell it was something that had cut her deeply, deeper than a blade ever could. He kissed the top of her head.* Im sorry, Evelyn. He sounds like he was an amazing man. *He said softly and smiled down at her, nodding.* Im sure if you're sure. And besides Im sure im not what you had in mind either. *He winked. He was glad Evelyn wasn't like the 'proper' women back in Port Royal. When she mentioned sleep he instinctivley yawned and nodded.* You mean no more questions? Well damn. *He laughed quietly. He slid down the wall a bit and grabbed his pillow, stuffing it behind his head. He was surprised actually that she wanted to stay in his cabin, but he had rather hoped she would.* Goodnight, Evy. *He whispered, watching as the last candle burned out. The rock of the ship in the storm and the sound of the rain on the deck quickly put him to sleep. And having Evelyn so close comforted him and no nightmares came, only a pleasant, still darkness.*

Evelyn looked to him as he kissed her head softly and she smiled. It was quite comfortable here, she thought that the next time she had entered his room there might hav been a bit of awkwardness, but there was none. Not tonight. Unlike the last time, tonight they slept in the same bed because they wanted too...because frankly, Eve needed to. She found that sleep still came with difficulty to her. Her eyes looking after the candles while they melted away.
"Night Eric...sweet dreams mate..." she told him softly as she let her eyelids finally droop and fall. She was too comfortable for her thoughts to plague her awake any longer. She sensed his arms tighten a bit and she knew it comforted him to have her close. He had clung to her tightly when he had spoken to her of his past and it made her happy to know they could find comfort in eachother. At the moment...nothing mattered. Although Evelyn's logic screamed at her she swatted it away. All she cared about now, at this moment, was him. To have him close to her as she slept and no one else.
'Eve mate, ye bloody idiot! Get up! Get out! What if he leaves ye?' came a voice and she found herself bickering in her dreams. For Evelyn, arguments never ceased. If it wasn't with another, it was with herself. She mumbled a few words, "No...no...he won't..." she repeated a bit but in the end she slumbered gently as she clung tightly to him.

Sarah listens to Hawk tell her about Luis. When Evelyn got back on deck 'e brought her back to her cabin, leaving Eric behind. Sarah slightly trailed off, realizing that didn't quite make sense as to why she was asking about Luis. I just have a bad feeling about 'im, that's all. Sarah heard a commotion near the side of the ship and turned to see Jack bring a girl on the deck. Oi! It looks like Jack's brought someone aboard. Come on, let's see if we can 'elp.

* Maria was beggining to think she was growing ill, and it wasn't the alchohol keeping her in this state. Her hands were clammy and she found herself in a cold sweat. She sank more into her bed tightining the thin covers around her. The shuffling feet urged her curious self to go up and look but her body begged her to stay. She turned around to look at the celing. The room began to spin and she found herself in black darkness.*

Somewhere in the middle of the ocean was a boat. A very small boat at that, just a few feet long, fewer wide, and a pair of padles on its sides. How this boat had gotten there, none alive could say, except for perhaps the man with the padles;
Softly hanging in the air around that little boat came the words of a little song;
an endless sea 'neath skies o' blue alas, so far from 'ome, Jack. long lost at sea, i speak it true all lost and all alone, Jack.
two months lost in the raging sea, and torrents all a'foam, Jack. Fish be I, and Fishy; me, two months too long from home, Jack.
