Evelyn continued looking about the place as Mark spoke and mostly she was allowing his words to gently roll off of her shoulders. What she wanted to do, was searing into her like fire and she was itching to simply stride over towards him and exact her feelings tangibly. However, it wasn't until the mention of their ship did he go far too far in Evy's book. Her eyes flared as she turned to him. He apologized but it was far too late. She balled her fists and gently made to wrap a hand about the handle of her dagger.
When his arm became stuck however, she paused, her eyes looking about the cavern curiously and wanting even more than ever to simply get out of there. There lay a piece of something upon a stone in the middle of the great, tranquil, pool and she decided she wasn't about to go galavanting further into the cave unnecessarily. She had come here for one reason, she had acquired it, and Evelyn had learned through experience that it was best you bloody well kept your curiosity chained lest it lead you down a path you cannot return from.
However, at the moment her urge to get her justice exacted from Mark was greater than ever. As he grinned at her she continued to glare. Just as he was beginning to make his way downwards Evelyn rushed forward. "Mark! Don' ye bloody walk away!" She called after him. She stood in front of him, blocking his way further down the passage and quickly smacked Mark firmly across the face.
"Don' you EVER use my bloody ship's fate against me. You should be thankin' yer bloody lucky stars our crew has ye with us peacefully at all!" She cried, eyes searing into him. "You might have said you weren't proud of it, but ye used it nonetheless. Don' you EVER do that again, savvy?" She stated in her deadly tone, lifting a curved brow at him. "And another thin', don' you ever act that bloody smug with me. I SAVED yer bloody skin last night, you remember that. No matter what, Mark, you owe me. You've yet ta risk yourself fer me, and until you do, you've not a bloody word ta say against me otherwise." She snapped.
With that, she stalked away, out of the passage and towards the pool.

Rhys stared at the cavern wall in front of her, it was loose mostly, unstable. It could colapse at any moment and yet she was going to climb it. It was not as if her mind was functioning correctly at the moment to care. Her leg was wounded and bleeding despite the makeshift bandage to stop the bleeding. She hardly noticed though.
The fact that people in the hole with her had turned and disappeared into a crack in the wall did not function with her. She just stared straight ahead, and finally attempted the climb out of the hole.
One hand gripped and tested weight, while the other hand searched for another grip. Then her feet went up and tested and searched. She was scalling the wall rather quickly, her eyes focused on the cavern wall always searching. Yet, suddenly the wall started to collapse under her weight. With out a sound she dragged her hands along the wall as she fell trying to stop the fall. Yet, her hands only became bloody and lost most of their skin the process. Her theif mind was still in control and kept her from panicing, trying to calmly figure a way to save herself.
That is until she hit the ground with a thud and a crack.
(OOC: Is anyone elses little postie thing stretching really long or is that just me? It's driving me crazy!)

Evy stepped in front of him as he tried to walk down the passage and slapped him across the face. He quickly forced her against the wall and had a pistol to her head before she could even react.
"DON'T YOU EVER! EVER GET IN MY WAY!"
He listened as she began to yell at him. He started to apply force to the trigger but managed to gain control of himself.
"You're right! You did save my life! Okay! I thanked you for that! I don't owe you a damn thing! I don't owe anything to anyone...save Rhys. You just hate to admit when you're wrong! You were looking for something and I helped you find it! You wanted to get out of the hole, and kept insisting we should, but the damn thing you were looking for was in the hole! Don't you ever preach to me about 'your ship' again...it isn't your ship...it's Jack's...and if you ever get in my way again...or hit me...it'll be the last thing you do!"
He lowered the pistol and shoved her out of the way and continued on his way down the tunnel. He was so enraged that he hadn't the slightest clue where he was, what he had done, or even who he was. He didn't even know why he had snapped like that. He was just glad he had avoided killing her. He knew he wouldn't be able to join back up with the crew after that...so he kept on walking down the cavern. Where it went he didn't know...didn't care. He just wanted to get as far away from Evy as he could.

Emma stood at the edge of the hole, careful not to get too close. She ran a hand through her hair as the sea breeze tangled it further, sighing."Bloody fine place we're in..."
Her bluegreen eyes were thoughtful, more sober than usual as she tried to figure out what to do.Strong, slender fingers tapped restlessly on the hilt of her saber. It seemed they were stuck on this bloody island until they figured some way to get their friends out of this.
Just then,Rhys started trying to climb out.Emma's eyes widened slightly.Did she really think she could make it on that unsteady ground? She took a step back as the wall began to crumble beneath Rhys's weight."Damn...Rhys,are ye all righ' down there, lass?"
Just then, shouting reached her ears from somewhere in those dark depths.Emma's mind reeled.Who was down there?Rhys,of course...Evy,and Eric and...Mark!Without further time for thought,or for common sense to kick in and stop her,Emma lowered herself over the edge of the opening, sliding down the rough walls as slowly as she could.ing sure she hadn't hurt herself in the descent,
Emma's trust was difficult to gain the first time, and harder still to regain.Right now,Mark was the last person on Earth she would knowingly leave alone somewhere with two of her best friends.
"EVY!"The young woman brushed herself off, making sure she hadn't injured herself in the descent."Are you all right?!"

Rhys didn't move at Emma's calling to check on her. Her body lay limply on the ground, one arm twisted under her side, and her legs spread apart. Only the faint rising from her chest gave away any sign that she was alive still. Well that and the blood seaping from her leg, hands, and now what looked to be a gash across her forehead.
(OOC: I'm pretty sure I've bloodied Rhys up enough for the time being ^.^ Don't ya'll think?)

((OOC: Well, I had to edit my LAST post in order for Mark's to work but hey...if you wanna pick a bone with Evy THAT badly...be my guest...but you'll be sorry...*pats him* )) Evelyn's eyes went wide and she gave a rough cough as she was slammed against the cave wall. Instantly, she felt the cold, icy, burn of steel upon her head and her body immediately tensed. Evelyn had been in dangerous situations before, and although this appeared to be one, it didn't even brush the very edge of what Evy truly considered dangerous. Lost on an island in Barbossas' clutches, that was danger, this was a cake walk and frankly Eve was getting quite tired of getting yelled at by the boy. Rolling her eyes Evelyn blocked out most of what he said, hoping to be able to give him the benefit of not hearing every word he spat in her face. She was seething with anger, no question, however to kill him would be a pure waste of time and the way he was going, Jack would soon kill him himself for the way he's been acting. It'd save her energy at the very least. When he was through and the gun was pulled from her head she glared at him as he left. Her instinct had been, quite frankly, to jump on the man and slit his throat right then and there. Evelyn had grown from that however, did not truly recognize him as a threat and shook her head. She spat in his wake with slightly pitying eyes and only called him a coward as he walked into oblivion. She felt something had changed then between her and him. Genuinely, the tide had turned for him, and he would be sliced out of her life like a bad nightmare. She doubted any of the rest of the crew would take to him much after that, almost felt sorry for the lad. Evelyn's lids closed then, pulling a dark veil over her vision, as if attempting to tangibly close the window to that sort of hatred. Evelyn hadn't felt the impulse to rip someone open so bad before in her life, but she would restrain herself. If not for herself, then for Eric's sake. Simply in the fact that she didn't need extra blood on her hands, Evelyn was attempting to shy away from the senseless killing. Mark was a perfect example of that...a simple waste... She had had enough. Enough of the cave, enough of the darkness, enough of him, enough to fill her bloody plate for the day. "Eric mate, would ye stop gawking and look for a way out of here? I think we can get through the hole up there." She commented, giving a nod up a small rocky slope towards a gap of light. "Take a look would ye?" She asked, giving a small smirk before heading into the waters. The trinket, whatever it was, rested upon the rock's blackened surface about 50 feet away from her. Moving in slowly, the water slowly creeped up on her, soonly causing her the need to swim in order to keep her head above water. She just wanted to fetch the item and leave. Maybe, if she got back quick enough, she would be able to convince Jack to take the piece and leave. She was tired of this rock, and eager to move on.

Emma listened for a few moments to the sounds from the darkness before her. Satisfying herself that, from the sound of Evy's voice, she wasn't suffering from any sort of fatal wound... Though she did seem to be thoroughly agitated... the young woman turned to Rhys.
Her crewmate was apparently unconscious, and bleeding from the leg, hands, and head."Christ..."
Emma had no formal training in medicine, only experience in the fine art of Keeping People Alive Until Someone Who Knows What the Bleedin' Hell They're Doing Arrives. That, she supposed, would have to do. Drawing a knife from her belt, she pulled off her sash and cut it into strips.
"Emma?"Rick walked around the deep hole, eyes scanning the surrounding area. Odd, the rest of the crew had told him she'd be here... Perhaps he'd go check the pub in town again. It seemed like the likeliest place for Em to be, knowing her....
"Aye?"
The young man blinked. Where was that voice coming from? Slowly, careful not to overbalance, he leaned down and looked into the hole.
"Em!? Wha' 'n th' bloody 'Ell're ya doin' down there?!"
Emma didn't look up from her work, solemnly opening her Emergency Rum supply. It wasn't any kind of actual medical equipment, but it was fairly clean, and a high enough proof to instantly kill any germs foolhardy enough to venture near it. It'd do for now."What's it look like I'm doin', Rick?"she replied, cleaning the wounds off with a rum-dampened rag."I'm seein' to th' injured!"
The wound on Rhys's head was going to be a pain to bandage. Her sashes would take care of the leg and hands, but she wouldn't have enough fabric left from those for it. Oh,well...
"Yer damned lucky ye aren't among th' injured...Hell,did ye jump down there?!"Rick rubbed his temples. Some days, he wondered whether she was worth the trouble she caused. He always decided she was, but on days like this it took him a bit longer than usual to arrive at said conclusion...
"Slid."Deft fingers tied a bandage around Rhys's injured leg, and began wrapping her left hand."Do me a favor and shut up until I'm done with this, there's a good lad..."Emma moved on to the next hand, moving quickly and efficiently. As predicted, this was where she ran out of sash to bandage her friend's wounds with. Ripping the sleeve from her shirt without a moment's thought, she cut that into strips and, with more delicacy than perhaps even she knew she could possess, began on the head wound.

Recovering from her small encounter with Mark, and still rather fuming over it, Evelyn moved away from the cave wall and towards the crystalline pool before her. "Right...tha' might be what Jack was lookin' for." Evelyn said in a low tone, her eyes shifting to Eric momentarily, and then drifting back towards the item before her. The item looked to be a glinting shard of something. The small shaft of light that illuminated it in the darkness caused it to shine like a veritable beacon.
Without further hesitation, she took of her boots, and waded in. Quickly she was being devoured by the waters and she found herself swimming quite early on. Her feet brushing the inky stone beneath her for only moments and then swirling in silky liquid. The waters parted as she moved forward.
It was then as she moved within feet from it she caught a glimpse of what it truly was.
An old pockethingych...or a piece of it. Seemed to be cut into thirds and in a jagged fashion. This one wasn't gold however. Instead it was in silver, the face seemed to be of a jade color and the numbers in Roman. Reaching it Evelyn's fingers strained to reach it upon the stone slab jutting from the waters. She was beginning to think she would need to climb onto it. Evy muttered rather frustratedly but managed to crawl onto it.
Taking the piece of clock in her hand, placed it within the folds of her sash. Evelyn hadn't expected to find anything but her dagger in here, but she was fortunate she had.
Leaving the waters dripping wet, she shivered slightly, and gathered her things when she heard voices down the way Evy and Eric had came moments before. "Emma?" she asked as she moved forward towards the gap in the stone. "Emma?! Y'alrigh' mate?" she asked curving her brow. Moving through it, she made towards the figures ahead.
"Bloody 'ell!" she half cried as she moved forward and fell to her knees a bit all too quickly. Her knees hit the stone hard and ached slightly but her attention turned to Emma as she continued to wrap Rhys' head. There were several spots where bandages were and she sighed heavily as she shook her head. "We need ta get her back to the ship." Evelyn murmered, looking up at Emma and then back the way she came, down the long, dark, hallway.

A dark man stood in the shadows. He had been following this group for some time. Green eyes flashed as he heard the commotion coming from inside the hole. It was the perfect opportunity, the only problem was the two women and man outside of the hole. They had gathered around the edge, however, leaving him in the clear for the time being.
Despite his poor upbringing the man was handsome. He had dark loucious skin stretched over taugnt muscles. Bright green eyes looked out of a dark face with short spiky hair arranged to near perfection. He wore a loose white shirt and baggy brown pants. They clung in all the right places and contrasted his skin just right. Yet the clothes were dirty and gave him the look of a hard working man.
"Is there something wrong here," he asked in a deep smooth voice. "I was out looking for my horse, damn girl got away again, and I heard yelling," he quickly explained. He flashed the three closest to him a dazzling smile. Hearing the commotion from the hole in front of them, he moved forward and looked down. Three people were crowded around the body of a woman. The woman looked vaguely familiar to him, but he could not place her.
"Is she alive?" he shouted down. He was prepared to jump down and help out in anyway that he could.

Emma's bright bluegreen eyes darted up at the sound of her friend's voice."I should be askin' th' same,Evelyn...what was all that shoutin' about a minute ago?"She tied off the ends of the bandage, then sat back, her mind going smoothly from emergency medicine to how much rum she had left, and whether she had a spare shirt in her cabin or would have to steal one from Rick.Taking a sip from the little that was left in her flask, she leaned back on her heels."I'm fine,though,mate...came down 'ere of me own will,an' only got a bit scratched up...Her eyes flickered down at Rhys, and she sighed.
"'Ow're we gonna get 'er up?"
Rick glanced over at the other man who had appeared nearby. He had dark skin, and seemed like a working man,but was no one he had seen around the ship before.Odd.But he was offering help...The young Scot shook the worry from his mind, looking down and meeting Emma's eyes for a brief moment.
Em looked up the moment she heard the stranger's voice. Her eyes narrowed only the slightest bit in mistrust-how did he get here? And how were they to know of his intentions? But his words relayed a concern for her fallen comrade,so she had no choice but to trust him for the moment. At any rate,he seemed a decent fellow.
"Aye,she's alive...we could use some 'elp gettin' 'er out,though...ourselves,too,come to think of it..."She thought a few moments."If ya have some rope,ye could lower it down an' you 'n Rick could 'elp pull us up,maybe...?"

The man stood patiently, pretending not to notice the scrutiny as the two pirates tried to decide if he was safe or not. When the woman in the hole finally spoke to him, he judged that he would be safe until he atleast helped them get the people out of the hole.
And so he went to work. With the patience of a man who had done much manual labor he set about his task. All the while he chatted happily with the man he assumed was Eric, "Name's Iniko. I've lived here all my life, although I would desperately love to get away from this town. Me ma, Godbless her heart, was a slave. And me pa was well... her owner's son. As I was the first grandchild I've not been kept a slave, but my mother did raise me. And other than that me family won't acknowledge me." His feet were taking him around the hole in search of rope. "Anyways I know that there's some rope around here somewheres. Oh! That's right, it's outside the cave!" He quickly disappeared outside.
Several minutes later Iniko jogged back into the cavern. He quickly started to chat again, "Found it outside the mouth of the cave. I remember someone mentioning having left it there. You know how things are, none of the white folk notice us. We're just there to do our jobs, cleaning tables or working the feilds. They don't think to curb their tounges around us." He quickly tossed some of the rope into the hole.
"There ya go!" he shouted down. "Let's get that girl up and get her to town to have a looksie."

(ACK! Sorry for not being present in the last few days, I was here and online, but no one else seemed to be, and pirates site was being od for me O.o All's well now but the bloody posting box!)
Tobbs had watched the going ons after the stranger was slaughtered, wondering what had gotten into Rhys. All of a sudden, a rather helpless yelp somewhat caught her attention. Her eyes flashed to her right, where Elizabeth once stood...
Arching a brow and making her way quickly to the side of the cave, she felt around for some kind of opening, whispering the lady's name. There was no response....then suddenly, a bit of coughing snatched her attention. Tobbs located what seemed to be similar to a trap door. Odd, she thought, as she opened the wooded door and felt her way through the opening.
By the looks of things, she'd guessed Elizabeth had slipped in on accident when she was searching for a rope. Calling out once more, her worry grew for Will's wife.
"Elizabeth? Where are ye lass?"

Elizabeth had no idea what had just happened. She'd been fine a few seconds ago when she was searching carefully for a rope or a tunnel to the hole Rhys was in. Unfortunately, the trap door had fooled her. She'd slipped into it unwillingly and fallen into a small cave. Coughing away the dust, she looked around to try and find any means of getting out.
Tobbs's voice, though, had caught her attention, and with a loud yell, she called out the other's name.
"Tobbs? Tobbs, I'm here! Can you hear me?"
She got a mild consent to the effect of "of course I can hear you!" Blinking when she realized that the pirate was coming closer, she stood feebly and dusted herself off. The cut she'd got on her leg stung a bit much, and again she wished for Will's presence.
"I'll try and get up...just help me a bit at the top!"
With some amoutn of success, she climbed the narrow tunnel and neared the entryway. Tobbs was there to pull her out, and she rolled out with another coughing fit.
"I'll be alright, don't worry; we need to get Rhys out or she'll be much worse off. Help me up, please."
Getting the needed assistance, the two made their way over to the hole. Spotting a stranger near the entrance, Elizabeth glanced at him in curiosity. She felt Tobbs suddenyl grow tense. She slipped from the woman's side and sunk down to ehr knees by the hole's side. Spotting Emma, Evy, Rhys, and Eric, Elizabeth gave a sigh of relief.
"Everything alright down there? Have you found a way out?

Tobbs had helped Elizabeth out of the cave with ease on her part. She noted the lass's leg and bit her lip in worry. Helping her up and assisting her in approaching the hole, Tobbs pondered over Rhys's condition with worry.
The stranger(Iniko) at the entry way caught her attention, though. She tensed up and placed her hand near her pistol. She favored her twin blades better than simple gun shots, but at this point she was too tired of the day to deal with someone else in the long run.[/i]
" 'ey, you there. Whatcha think yer doin'? I don' know you, and I'm guessng my crew mates don't either. Bein' that they're a bit busy 'elpin' one of our own in some 'ole, I'd say I'll be dealin' with ye. You 'elpin', or 'ave you just decided to become a pain in me neck? Per'aps it's both, eh?[/color]

Iniko watched the woman in front of him. He blinked at her feigning surprise and shock at the confrontation. He immediatly fought his instinct and threw a submissive look on his face. "I sorry lady. I only trying to help," his english switched to what would be a fearful slave's dialect. He quickly set the rope down on the ground and backed up his head hanging down and back hunched.
"I only trying to help," he mumbled again. He found it to be his best defence, using pity to aid him. "Lady look hurt, I only want to help." He really had to keep to his part true if he were going to convince this new woman of his identity. He had to pull at her heart somehow. And somehow he would do it.
