Cara paced back and forth as the wizard and the pirate talked, wringing her hands nervously. "Why does he have to be such a tempermental, hard headed, argumentative..... youngling!" She cried out in frustration. Duinorwen placed a soothing hand on her shoulder.
"Just calm down my friend , Mithrandir will take care of it." She said sensibly. Cara merely nodded as her eyes watched the pair. Lord aragorn and the halflings had ducked out by this point in time to prepare for the upcoming journey.
"I still wish to know when you.... Norsemen are going to take me back to the British navy!" Norrington burst out.
"Oh will you just stuff it with the british navy!!!!" Cara wheeled on him. Norrington seemed somewhat taken aback and back away from her a step.
"Cara... I know our friend Jack can get a little, disagreeable sometimes.." Elizabeth said stepping forward. Cara gave a short burst of ironic laughter.
"Has anyone told you you have a gift for understatement Elizabeth?" Cara said in an ironic tone of voice. Elizabeth merely smiled slightly.
"I was trying to put the best light possible on him. He's really not that bad once you get to know him, isn't that right Will... Will?" THe group turned towards Will who was standing still looking somewhat dumbstruck.
"That, that Elf......" Will shook his head and turned large eyes to Elizabeth. She laughed and embraced her husband warmly.
"Yes dear I think we all noticed the two of you could be brothers." She laughed merrily. Cara was still casting nervous glances between their small group and mithrandir and Jack.
"Just go see what they are speaking on if you're so worried about it." Duin told her pushing her gently in their direction...
Meanwhile back at Jack and Gandalf.... "You are in Middle Earth. Our world is called Arda. This of course as you know is Rivendell. It serves as safe haven and refuge for those who find it. Also as you know it is Ruled by Lord Elrond half elven. Then there are the other two Elven Kingdoms Mirkwood, once known as Greenwood the great. I'm afraid you've had some dealings with the Prince of that realm." Gandalf said rather Ironically. "And Lothlorien Realm of the Lady Galadriel, from which the lady Cara hails originally. There is also the Shire, realm of the hobbits, and the two main kingdoms of men Rohan where the horse lords dwell and Gondor. Last but not least you have the lonely mountain where the Dwarf lords dwell. Our world and all you see in it was created by all mighty Eru using the music of the Ainur, and we are watched over by the Valar and the Maiar. " Gandalf could see the blank look on the humans face. "Perhaps I am getting a bit too in depth. Forgive me it is the nature of the wise to try and impart knowledge. Suffice it to say that the world you've been cast into Jack, is facing a moment of greatest peril. The ring that Frodo carries is the tool of the enemy. Sauron the Deciever. If he were to regain this ring our world would be covered in his dark influence. If that should happen you could very well say goodbye to any hope you and your friends might have of seeing your world again." At that point in time Gandalf fell silent and looked up to the side. "My lady Cara." The wizaard said with an inclination of his head."
"Mithrandir." She replied giving a low and respectful bow, throwing a menacinig glance over her shoulder at Duinorwen. "Jack." She gave him a slightly nervous smile as she rose. She seemed almost afraid he would go running off on his own again. "Has everything been settled?" She querried passing a nervous hand through short golden locks.

Jack looked at Gandalf the whole while, carefully taking in what he could.....and trying is best to not look confused, but apparently it showed anyway, because Gandalf changed tactics and explained things in a much simpler tone. But he respected the old man.....it made Jack feel rather honored knowing the man had at least attempted to speak to him like a equal.
For a while he said nothing...just thinking. It appeared he was stuck no mater what he did.....he couldn't just walk away ,because he had no way home.....so the best idea so far was to stay here and se what happened.
Besides it sounded like one hell of a party. To bad this great quest didn't seem to be heading for a ocean any time soon....while he would have felt more at home on. Finally, he just stood and walked over to Will, Elizabeth and Norrington.
"Mates......from the looks of things were stuck....might as well help the lot while we can.....I don't think those little buggers have ever seen pistols before, let alone any form of battle...might be best if we tag along.....savvy?"
Will was still staring at the elf, who stared back, but with a mildly amused expression rather then a bewildered one. Jack punched Will's arm hard enough to bring him back to reality. Will glared. "Yes mate....we know he's a blonde you...." Jack's eyes looked at the elf who glared back openly. Jack waved at him innocently, which seemed to infuriate the elf all the more. "So.....we staying?" He asked them.
Elizabeth nodded, she seemed to be partly interested in the elves at least....Norrington didn't make any sign of acceptance either way...and apparently wasn't to keen on staying with the "Norsemen" as he called them. Jack grinned.
"Come on Commodore you should feel at home....that Elrond pixie is almost as pompus as you are..." Jack narrowly avoided a swipe at his head. He grinned but Norrington finally nodded.
"We stay until we can find a way home...." He agreed. Jack turned to Will, who was still coming to terms with the matter.
"What say you Will, another adventure?" Will nodded and gave a strangled "aye." and grinned a bit.
"Right then!" Jack marched over to Cara, and bowed, thinking he may as well get into this whole "properly pompus" state that all the other pixies seemed to be in. "Lead the way..." He grinned at the bewildered and half amused elf. Gandalf only shook his head, amused and laughing.

Cara blinked as Jack bowed to her, somewhat bewildered and thoroughly amused. He seemed to think elves were completely prim and proper at all times apparently. The concept caused her to giggle somewhat. When met with a questioningly arched eyebrow from Jack she merely grined at him impishly and said lightly. "What?" She smiled and shook her head, suddenly reaching out and poking him playfully in the shoulder. "It shall take a day to gather all that shall be needed for this trip. Untill then I will show you to your rooms." Cara said Taking the lead and showing them to the Last homely house. She slowed her pace a little so she was walking next to Jack. "If you promise to behave yourself, I promise I won't hound your every step this night. There shall be a feast held in honor of the nine walkers departure. All are invited. I know not when the last time you or your friends ate anything, but you should be able to find suitable attire and take the time to.... make yourselves presentable?" She said with a small grin. She showed them each to their respective rooms, leaving Jack behind last. "I shall see thee in the grand hall mellon." She smiled once more and turned to walk off, giving a small wave over her shoulder. If she were to attend this feast herself, she would have to put something more suitable than her army uniform on. AS she walked down the hall Duinorwen fell in beside her.
"You are attracted to the mortal aren't you?" She said somewhat incredulously.
"I am not, I thank you kindly. I merely find him..... Intriuging." Cara replied looking straight ahead. She could sense what was coming next.

Duinorwen smirked, not saying anything for a while as they walked together towards Cara's lodgings. She figured that she didn't have much of a place to talk-while she was skilled in military strategy, and wise when she chose to be,she had incredily little experience when it came to love.Nevertheless, she was finding it difficult not to chuckle at her friend.
Cara caught her mid-sblack person, and glared.Duinorwen grinned until Cara couldn't help but laugh."You're getting to be as bad as that mortal,Duin..."
Duinorwen stopped dead, her mouth wide open in shock"You...you..."she stammered, for once unable to find words. Then she laughed again."I don't suppose you have any clothes that I might borrow?I don't have all that many nice things to wear, and I left most of my clothing back in Mirkwood..."

Cara smiled and shook her head. "Aye my friend I believe I should have something that will suit you. Come have a look through my armoire. see what there is that catches your eye. Cara said as they entered her room. She moved to the armoire and opened the doors to reveal a wide array of dresses. Cara smirked slightly as Duin seemed somewhat shocked. "Oh come now Duin just because i'm stuck in uniform all day doesn't mean i don't own or wear dress." Cara laughed musically, sweeping a shimmering dark teal garment from a hanger and waltzing behind the changing screen. Help yourself to anything that strikes your fancy Duin. Cara called from behind the screen.

"Suitable attire..." The words hung in the air as Cara departed. The room was nice......but he prefered a cabin on a constantly moving ship......Jack scowled and began tearing the room apart in search of some "suitable"
Elizabeth, having been shown to a room lost no time at all into chnaging into a striking gown of pale green....indeed she felt quite at home here.....Will....after much pleading, poking and glaring had changed into something that was something like Legolas's clothes, but in deeper shades of green and tan.
Norrington, flatly refused to change, seeing this as a step down somehow in rank......and merely washed up.
By the time Jack had pulled apart his room, he'd found nothing he deemed wearable....elegant robes and fabrics of silks and finely spun linen cluttered the floor. Finally annoyed with the whole matter he sat down on the side of his eleborate bed, staring at the strewn about clothing, and decided privatly that no dinner was worth this. He frowned long and hard, as if expecting the clothing to change to something he found acceptable. Vaguly he thought about calling Cara and asking her to help find something that didn't make him look like a pansy......

Cara stepped out from behind the screen clad in a shimmering teal gown. It fell slightly off her shoulder, with slightly belled sleeves. The boddice was cinched and the skirt fell straight to the floor slightly full but not overly "puffy". "Haven't you found anything to wear yet Duin?" She say in a playful tone as she stood before a vanity with a large mirror and captured her short hair into a roll on the back of her head, allowing loose tendrils to fall framing her face softly.
"I would have never guessed that you of all people would have this many clothes." Cara merely smiled, placing a small jewled headdress over her hair.
"Yes well I don't live in my uniform, no matter how much it may seem like I would." She reponded. "Take your time. I go to check on the mortals." She exited the room and walked down the hall noticing that Elizabeth and Will were already dress, and that Norryington had just washed up keeping his uniform on. "Now there's one who lives in his uniform obviously." Cara said. Finally coming up to Jack's room she knocked lightly on the door. "Jack? Mellon nin, is everything well?" She called.

Jack opened the door, clearly ready to shout he was not dressing up as a damned pixie, and indeed seemed hell bent on shouting it loud enough for all of the city to hear, but stopped mid way.
He looked at Cara, was floor silently in his mind by her appearance, but by using Sparrow stubborness shut his mouth, took one step back and muttered: "I'm not dressing like a damned pansy...." instead of shouting it. He looked half desperate hald stubborn. He wasn't exactly one to deliberatly mess up something like this............ok....fine....so he was...but he felt he'd caused enough of a improper up roar for the day...and he wasn't about to cause more....yet.......unless he saw that Legolas bugger.........
A idea flashed in his head....
"Any chance I can get something to eat without actually going to this feast?" He asked, rather desperate to stay away from the other pixies.....

Cara smiled slightly and nodded. "Yes if you'd really rather not I could bring you something to your room. Or if you'd rather not be.... Isolated, I could go to the kitchens and pack some food, find someplace more, plesent? To take a meal.." She said this rather caustiously. She was used to his mood ranging from one extreme to the other by now. "Ordinarilly it would be my duty to attend such functions, but seeing as how I've somewhat, fallen from grace, I doubt I would be missed. But if you'd rather be alone, I understand completely...." What was wrong with her, she was acting like some silly youngling schoolgirl elf, all short of the tittering. She cleared her throat somewhat and looked to the ground before looking up once more. "E-either way..."

Jack gave Cara a genuine smile, not one of his normal overly done smiles, but a smile, and he nodded. "Aye.....well....show me the kitchens....I'll help myself.....and maybe find someplace to eat....." He said calmly. "I don't think your Lord Elrond likes me much......" He watched her curiously a second, realized she was either fidgety out of uniform or was just nervous around him.
With a sort of half grin he pulled his hair out of his face, attempted a quick washing up process which consisted mostly of a quick face wash and a semi straightening of his clothes. "right....show me the way?"

Cara couldn't help smiling at the man in return. When he was being sincere his smile was actually rather on the nice side. "All right then, I'll show you to the kitchens." She said backing slightly away from the door As he straightened himself out. When he was ready she led the way towards the kitchens. "You really shouldn't worry too much about Elrond. He get's like that sometimes. I suppose it is the pressures of running a kingdom." She smiles and laughs slightly "Asides, he's always had it out for me. I was never serious enough for his liking." Cara admitted. As they were walking along she gained some of her usuall poise back. She smiled at familiar faces and nodded in acknowledgement to the soldiers who were placed on gaurd duty in the last homely house as they saluted her. After a few moments she turned and opened the door to the kitchens. Several elves were bustling about making last minute preperation to the meal. "Help yourself mellon." She said taking a small slice of cheese from an elf who was passing by with a platter and nibbled on it while waiting. "What of your friends Jack, do you think they shall be well on their own?"
Elizabeth entered the great hall before Will and looked about with amazed eyes. "Oh Will look at this, isn't it simply exquisite?" She gasped as she looked on the laden table and decortations. Will entered somewhat slower fidgiting slightly, still not comfortable in his new attire. He felt someone clap him on the shoulder, and expecting it to be Jack turned around. Only to find the strange blond elf that looked like him.
"Mae govannen, I am Legolas, prince of the Greenwood. And you are?"
"W-wil Turnerl" Will said blinking in astonishment. There was just no getting used to this apparent twin.

Meanwhile...
Duinorwen is still back in Cara's room,in an attempt to find a dress that doesn't look in any way femenine. Her quest is meeting with failure at every turn, and she finally sighs, settling for one that at least looked nice on her, despite not being exactly comfortable for the Elf,who had dressed as a male since she was only a youngling. It took her a few minutes to get changed, and when she did she inspected herself in the mirror.
The dress that she had chosen was floor-length,which was very good, considering this meant her weathered travelling boots wouldn't show.It hugged curves which were normally imperceptable thanks to her choice of atire. It was a very dark green that brought out both her eyes and the hint of red in her hair. The sleeves were made of a gauzy material that seemed to float behind her.The pendant which she always wore on a sliver chain beneath her uniform shone brightly at her throat. She combed out her long, auburn hair, and looked into the mirror and sighed.
At least she didn't have to go around like this all the time.
She picked her belt up from the pile on the floor that was her uniform, and strapped it on,sword and all.She wasn't going anywhere dressed like this and unarmed...With a sigh, she decided that that was too obvious.Carefully, tenderly, she lay aside her sword and bow.
The knives in her boots would have to do.And the one on her thigh. And the one at the small of her back. And the razorblade on the side of her hair pin...
She smiled slightly as she walked into the great hall.If nothing else, seeing her like this would frighten her friends out of their wits.

Jack picked his way through the kitchen grinning at the elves who gave him a slightly nervous look, most of them looking to Cara as if to ask what to do.
Jack found a small sack, dumped in a few hings that didn't look strange to him, and then took a bottle of surprisingly, water....and made for the nearest exit, grinning at Cara, and beckoned her to follow him. He made for the nearest open air door, then found himself on a balcony overlooking part of Rivendell. here he paused and sort of looked around silently, thinking. When Cara came up behind him he grinned a little.
"Well.......it's not the ocean....but it'll do...." he said in a offhand manner.
Meanwhile back at the feast. Norrington was having a involved conversation with a pair of elves from the havens, questioning them seriously about the British Navy's whereabouts.....he got blank stares. Will and Elizabeth on the other hand were being entertained by Legolas, who seemed amused by his mortal twin's nervousness.

Cara couldn't help but smile in an amused type manner as several of the elves glanced at her questioningly. She merely shrugged her shoulders, allowing him to pick through what he would. She was mildly surprised when he picked up a bottle of water, but didn't say anything as she followed his lead. She came up behind him quietly as he found his way to the balcony, smiling at his words.* Aye, your right, tis not the ocean, but beautiful in it's own right. *She moved to the railing and looked out, sighing slightly.* Truth to tell I miss the ocean myself. If it hadn't have been for the promotion I never would have left the Elven Sea force. *she said quietly, almost to herself.*

Jack gave Cara a quizzical look, but didn't really feel like prying at the moment. he was stuck here....he'd have plently of time to do that later.....
Eyes scanning the area he turned to peer over t the river nearby, and wished he could follow it to the ocean and just sail away.....he wouldn't say it outloud but he was really home sick. He missed the utter insanity of being in a storm tossed sea.....and being rip roaring drunk with his mates.....
With a half amused look he turned to Cara. "So...I'm curious.....what to elves do all day?"
