It was bound to happen maties.....most of the members curerntly are memebers of the Plaza......therefore I think it's only right we should have a place to mix the two worlds. So...this is a ongoing story.....
Now..as a warning, I will indeed shut this thread down completly if the rules in here aren't followed so pay close attention savvy?
Rules for Thread:
1. ALL POSTS ARE TO BE AT LEAST FOUR SENTENCES LONG
2. ALL POSTS MUST BE IN CHARACTER POSTS...ALL OCC WILL BE DELETED WITH PENALTY
3. ABSOLUTLY NO CURSING OF ANY KIND.
4. RULES GOVERNERING COMMON CURTESY TO BE FOLLOWED
5. RESPECT OTHER POSTS
6. HAVE FUN
Rules for Story Line:
1. It is expected you follow the basic plot of the LOTR story...so no odd detours of marching off to fairyland with pink turtles spitting balloons.....savvy?
2. If you're a plaza member you can add your name into the plot...but keep it to a minimum....this is just a testing thread right now..if it goes well....I'll expand it out a bit more.....
3. try and reamin inside a certain level of sanity. Granted this crossover will be funny....(think Jack Sparrow talking to someone like Aragorn).....but I don't want completly strange things...
4. If your post becomes something that would be at home in the Padded Ship area, then it will be removed and all posts concerning that will be modifed.
5. This is probably the most amount of rules you'll ever see me give out in one thread...but as it's only a test run I need everyone to be playing on the same field so to speak....savvy?
6. please have fun here.......
Now I'll start it off.....and explain it.....here's the basic idea....
As Middle Earth is the larger area of the two I'm going that have the actual story take place in Middle Earth and all laws applying to the area are in effect. The characters of POTC are visiting.....savvy? This will start right after the hobbits arrive in Rivendell before the Council. And for all reasons here will be based on the movies! no the books.that'd be far to complicated....I want the POTC characters to go along with the LOTR characters on their journey......with some fun little plot twists.....savvy?
Now here goes for the starting point....you may add after this......
Jack Sparrow groaned and rubbed his forhead. He'd dealt with cursed gold before......but nothing quite like this simple gold ring he'd picked up from the ground in Isle DeMurta. Maybe he was just drunk. That had to be it.
Next to him Will, Elizabeth and Norrington were waking up.Barbossa must not be far away if he'd been nearby as well.....damn the bastard...but he was nowhere to be seen just yet... Jack watched them sort of bemused, trying to figure out exactly what had happened. He had felt a blast of cold air once his finger had touched the ring and the next thing he knew he was waking up.
And a strange place he'd awaken indeed. They were in a forest. A nice forest......not like any Jack had ever seen. As Will blinked himself awake, Jack stood up, ring slipped around his index finger and went to kick Norrington gently with his foot. "Wake up!" He said rather loudly. Norrington gave Jack a glare and stood.
"What have you done Sparrow?" Norrington demanded, as Will and Elizabeth stood, dusting themselves off. Jack blinked.
"you honestly think I could have gotten us here?" He sighed. "I must be really drunk now..."

Caradain Alexia Laeros, Arato (captain*) of the Rivendell defence sat in her flet in the tree her eyes scanning the horizon for any mishappening. Suddenly she heard voices behind her, two voices to be exact. She leaped from the tree and landed softly on the ground. Moving silently she came upon four oddly dressed people. Obviously mortal, but judging from there Garb they were not Rohirrim, Gondorian, or even Harad. She looked at them quizically a moment before drawing an aqua and black fletched arrow and stepping up behind the mortal with the strange accent who was making flailing gestures with his hands as he spoke. She pushed the tip of her Arrow against the mans back and spoke in sindarin. "Halt, what is you business here and from what lands do you hail?" The bearded man with dark smudges under his eyes spun to face her an astonished look on his face.
Jack felt something hard and sharp pressed against his back and spun to see what was behind him. He found himself face to face with an incredibly strangely dressed female. With short golden hair and eyes a shade of aquamarine he'd neer seen on any person before. "Pointed ears?" He muttered as he saw her ears peeking through her hair. What in the blue blazes?"
"So you speek the common tounge." She said in accented english. "What is your business here and how did you make it past my soldiers on guard?" She said lowering the goldenwood bow but keeping it drawn none the less.

:Jack blinked, not sure if english was "common tongue"...he figured it was common enough in the Caribbean. Either way he wasn't about to be shot with a arrow by some strange looking lady with pointed ears. He frowned.
"Mind telling me where we are?" He asked, ignoring her questions completly. Will, Elizabeth and Norrington by this time had decided that questioning was indeed in order and Norrington took charge.
"I am Commodore Norrington of his majesty's Royal Navy.....I order you to take us to the nearest British Port." He said with all the pompousness he could muster. Jack rolled his eyes. "I don't think we're in teh Caribbean mate...." he began, and leaned againest a nearby tree.
Will on the other hand seemed more concerned about Elizabeth, who looked utterly confused. "Where are we?" She asked. Will shrugged. "I don't know....." he began. Jack rolled his eyes again.
"We aren't near the sea...I can't smell the sea air anywhere.....we're on a mainland someplace...." The elf watched the new people with a mix of annoyance and curiosity.
"Who are you?"

Norrington frowned at the strangely garbed female."I have told you ths already.I am Commodorre Norrington,of the King's Navy,and I demand for you to tell us where we are!"
The Elf turned her bow on Norrington,much to Jack's relief."What King?Theoden?But Rohan has no land on the sea,and would have no need of a navy...Gondor lies on the sea,but they have no king,so I deem that you are lying.Yet I will speak to you the truth.You are in Rivendell,land of the Elves.From whence do you hail,mortals?"

Jack let out a short snicker of laughter then walked over ot the elf, using his annoyingly ever present habit of getting into people's space bubbles to speak to her.
"You know for a minute I thought you said elves...." He blinked at her, then at random took out his flask and stared at it. "must be some pretty strong stuff..." He said. "So...anyway...where are we again?" He asked, convinced he hadn't heard "elves". "And oh...we're from the Caribbean....."

Cara stepped back slightly as the mortal got a little close for comfort. If it wasn't for the stench of alcohol of some sort he emited he would have been a rather handsome specimen of a mortal. He was certainly intriguing to say the least. "I did say elves. I know no such place as the Carribean. How did you get here?" She asked her curiousty piqued now.

5{ again "Right you are lass and I'm a pixie..." He was still in her space bubble when he added: "oh course you coule be a fairy too..and Will here is a unicorn....Norrington's a leperchaun and Elizabeth.......well.she's a mermaid then......"
"As for us getting here....well...it might have something to do with the amount of rum in my blood right now.or it may not......but if I see one pink elephant then all bets are off.......savvy?"
With that said, Jack swaggered off into the woods, in the general direction he felt might led him to some normal non elf people....little did he know he was heading straight for Rivendell. of course he was also singing his song at the top of his lungs.
"Yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!........" The singing went on for quite some time. "And really bad eggs......drink up me hearties yo ho!" Norrington, Will and Elizabeth shook their heads in embarassment.

Cara arched an eybrow at the man as he named his companions as very odd creatures she had never heard of, then said puzzledly. "Oliphaunts don't come in pink, only grey." She saw the man alking of directly towards Rivendell. "Oh no he doesn't he isn't getting past me that easy." She said her eyes narrowing. She let out a shrill wihstle and a large white wolflike creature bounded up to her. "Lunaris, keep an eye on them." She said pointing to this Commodore Norrington and his companions as she ran off after the very unusual man who was now SINGING of all things. "Daro, I demand youhalt this instant or I shall be forced to take you into custody!"

Jack kept right on walking, but he did talk to her in between verses of his song. "you know you are the strangest rum induced dream I've ever had....."he stated in a calm tone of voice. He didn't seem at all troubled by her threat.....in fact he seemed almost amused.
"Oh of course...lock me away.." He said, invading the space bubble of the person he clearly saw as a dream. "Just do me a favor and try not to slap me before this dream is over........it's such a interesting dream after all........" He continued walking. "Do you know where I can find a tavern in this place?"

Cara was getting more and more peturbed by the moment. It was bad enough this mortal, intriuging though he was, blantantly seemed to consider her some form of hallucination. But she never took kindly to being disregarded. she paused as he turned to speak in her face once more then glowered as he wlked away asking for a tavern. "Indeed?" She muttered under her breath and grabbed him by the arm using her leverage to bring him to the ground and quickly producing a length of silver rope just long enough to bind a persons hands, which she did with efficiency. "I told you to stop." She seethed at him.

Jack blinked. "Ever been to Singapore luv?" he asked, her then quite calmly snapped himself upright, and crouched low, as if looking for a fight. He looked at his wrists then back at her. "That was a wonderful trick lass......but again.....I'm Captain Jack Sparrow......." He produced a small dagger from inside his shirt sleeve and began cutting through the bonds.
"You know...you'd make a good pirate...." He added by way of compliment. "We don't normally use bows really..pistols work....." He glanced around, seeming to have decided he might as well play along with this dream. "So......where are the other elf folk?" he asked, having now cut through the ropes. "Off singing or something?" The ring on his finger flashed in a ray of sunlight that had made it's way though the trees. "Or off shooting humans?"

*She immediately snapped to the defensive as The human made a series of quick movement regaining his feet and producing a dagger. Her hands went instinctively to the hilt of the dagger at her waist but she did not draw. Her eyes were caught by a momentary glint of gold as she spied the ring on the mortals hand. "But that cannot be the Halfling has the one ring and he is at the council even now." She said in quiet amazement, straightening and deciding to change her tactics a bit. "Let me introduce myself my name is Caradain, though most know me as Cara. You would be?" She said bowing low, then smoothing the fitted forest green riding jacket down the front. "And how came you by this ring?" She inquired with interest raising the humans hands in her own and inspecting the ring more closely. It was like that of the one, though there were subtle differences.

*Norrington took one look at the blond haired people that stood before them, and he was completely confused. Seeing their blond hair, something snapped inside him, and he turned to Will and Elizabeth*
Ah, worry not, I know these types. Their called Norsemen, from the far North, barbaric types if ya will, but I know some of their language
*addressing who seemed to be the leader*
Ya, mah name es Paddy, end deese ar mah freends, Will end 'Lizbeth, leet us goo....yup, that should work guys

Jack frowned, suddenly wary as to why this lady was interested in the ring. "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow.......or Jack.....or Sparrow....." He watched her. "The ring was something I found in a cave...." he saw Norrington, Will and Elizabeth following now in the distance. "And.....nice meeting you Cara.....I'm sure you're a pleasure to know....but I think Norrington wants to find a ship so he can get back to Port Royal.....any ideas?" He aske,d ever so gently removing his hands from her reach. If the ring was important in any way...he was keeping it.
;He listened to Norrington a while, then sort of grinned. "I think they speak English just fine Commodore..." he added to him.

*Will was still totally confused by the whole situation, a woman with poiny ears, loads of trees, and Jack seeming to think nothing much of it. He glanced at Elizabeth with an arched brow then just shrugged and was surprised to suddenly see the...elf...take Jack down so easily and tie him up. Will grinned a little at the thought of Jack being beaten by a girl. It seemed odd, but then he freed himself. Then Norrington suddenly seemed to know what to do and when he started to speak Will looked at him with an odd look spread across his face. If Norrington did anything with that sentence it was going to be to make this elf woman think the lot of them were even weirder than before.*
