Thomas felt amazingly drawn to this raven-haired beauty that he was leading to the docks. But then he realized that he did not even know her name. "What might yer name be Miss?" Thomas asked, trying very hard not to stutter. "My name is Melissa," the young woman replied with a smile, "Melissa McAfree."

"Melissa,"Thomas repeated to himself dazedly.A beautiful name.A beautiful girl.It was fitting, somehow. He smiled,as they reached the docks and she stopped, facing him.
"All right,"she said,"Where do we go now?"
"Just follow me," he replied, walking towards the Pearl-

Melissa's eyes widened as they fell on the stunning ship with graceful black sails. "Is that THE Black Pearl?" She said in an awestruck voice. Thomas looked over his shoulder at her andnodded, he couldn't help being the slightest bit amused at her wonder. "Aye miss, ye've heard of her then?"

Melissa turned to Thomas with a widening smile and said, "Have I heard of the Black Pearl! It's only the most infamous ship in the Caribbean! And it's Captain, Jack Sparrow, is more infamous than the boat itself!" Thomas smiled at Melissa's uncanny interest in pirates and pirate lore. "Aye lass ye seem to know a bit about our 'umble ship," Thomas replied, "now come along and ye will meet the Captain." "I get to meet Captain Jack Sparrow!?" Melissa exclaimed.

Jack paced the deck of the ship, half torn between leaving the baby onshore with a family or something and keeping it on the ship. About half way into his climb up the rigging, he stopped, seeing Thomas approaching with a dark haired lady.
With a sigh Jack resolutely climbed the rigging to the crows nest, determined to like this whole mess figure itself out.

"Maybe,"replied Thomas. They walked onto the ship, and headed towards the cabin.Tobbs and Rose were still there, and Jessy was on the bed, curled up in sleep.
Melissa stared in wonderment at the tiny girl."Whose is she?"She asked, with a glance at Thomas.
Thomas blinked,as Jack had earlier."She's not MINE,I found her!"he said, slightly panicked."Someone left 'er on the docks,so I decided this was the best place teh take 'er..."he approached the sleeping child quietly, and picked her up...
Jessi's eyes shot open, and she looked around.Seeing that Jack was not there,sh let out an ear-splitting wail that carried all the way to the crow's nest.

Jack heard Jessi's wailing all the way up in the crows nest, and rolled his eys. "I'm not moving, I'm not goin' anywhere." He muttered resolutely, but when the ungodly wailing didn't stop he sighed resignedly and began the descent to the deck.

As Jack was coming down to the deck he saw that Thomas had brought a strange, but beautiful, dark haired young women with him. Jack stared at her for a while, then remembered that Jessi was still wailing. Jack took little Jessi from his daughter and the baby began to coo at him.

Jack frowned as the small child grabbed at his beard, giggling wildly."Why's the little bugger so attatched to me,anyway..."Everyone present laughed,as did several people still in the process of swabbing the deck.Jack cursed quietly, and Jessi frowned back up at him,as if she could tell what he was saying.Panicking,He began to hum to her, smiling for good measure.Jessy began cooing again, and he sighed with relief.
Melissa looked over Jack's shoulder at the child."So,this is the one I brought all this mile for? She's a tiny thing, she is...d'yeh have anything to feed her out of?"

JAck looked confused for a moment and ceased humming and rocking for a second. BUt when Jesi showed signs of beginning to tear up again he hastily began his humming and rocking once more, looking towards Tobbs and his daughter helplessly. He had no idea what you fed these things out of. "If ye have an empty , rum bottle and an old pair of leather gloves ye don' mind cuttin' the finger off of ye can make a bottle for the wee lass. Said a lilting voice as a smiling face framed by auborn ringlets poked around the door." Jack sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Just what we need another person meddlin'."
"I not be meddlin' capitaine, I be helpin', or tryin' to at least." Arayel said as she shruged and made to move off. "But if ye not be needin' me help, I'll be on me way then." She said turning her back and making to move off.

Jack stood and thought a while. Still humming "a pirate's life for me" in Jessi's ear. "Well are you going to head the good woman's word or not?" Melissa said impatiently, "Why don't you grab some old gloves Thomas, and I'll find a bottle. Captain, you just stay with the little one."

:Utterly embarassed something like a baby attached itself to him, he passed the wailing bundle of babiness to Thomas:
"Take care of it." He said, and turned to walk away. Then he looked back at the new person on deck. "A pleasure..."He said and gave a strangely graceful bow, before walking away....determined as hell to get rip roaring drunk and enjoy himself without that thing the others called a baby.:
:Hell...maybe if he got drunk enough he'd wake up to find there was no baby after all...and it'd all been some sick nightmare:

Melissa smiled at Captain Jack Sparrow's oddly graceful bow and watched him leaving. She was awed by his prescence, and for a while she saw nothing else but his ruggedly handsome face. "Melissa?" Thomas questioned, "Melissa?" Melissa was ripped from her musings over the captain and turned to Thomas saying, "Yes?" "Can ye take the baby whiles I make sure that the Cap'n isn't sleeping. Jessi might need him later," Thomas said handing the baby to Melissa.

:Swearing under his breath Jack slammed th door of the cabin shut a clear sign to anyone in hearing range that he was not to be distrubed. He didn't care if the baby raised the demons of hell itself. Or so he told himself:

Thomas walked to the back of the ship and knocked on the door to Jack's quarters. "Captain," Thomas said knocking, "we be needin' ye on deck sir." Jack groaned and said, "frickin' damn savvy, I'm comin."
