*Eric glanced over his shoulder as he heard the other pirate approaching Evelyn and he swallowed nervously, not sure exactly what to do for fear of risking one of the women getting hurt. More than likely it would be Elinor considering she had no skill with a weapon nor the state of mind to fight off an attacker without help. He chewed on his lip a bit, falling deep in thought and finally he turned his eyes back to Elinor. The young woman was pale as a ghost and honestly, Eric was surprised she was still concious. She mouthed the words "help me" to him as their eyes locked and he nodded ever so slightly. When the man holding her started to yell at Evelyn and she refused to put her sword down Eric felt his heart race and he spun to face her.* Drop it, Evy! *He cried, fearing for Elinor. Elinor looked at Evelyn with pleading eyes and her lip trembled. Eric couldn't believe what was happening. It seemed everytime he and Evelyn met, it was under rather unfriendly circumstances. He signed in relief as she dropped her sword and Eric gave her a thankful nod and then looked back at the large pirate.* There, she dropped it. Now let them go. *He stated, looking between the two men as he carefully inched his way towards the tipped over coffee table. His jaw clenched when the largest man attacked Evelyn anyways. His current feelings towards Evelyn may have been cold ones but he still didn't want to see her hurt. He carefully worked one of the legs of the coffee table loose, for once glad that his furniture was cheaply made and easily broken. Elinor glanced over at him and her eyes grew wide as Eric lunged forward, swinging the leg with full force at the smaller pirates head. It him square in the face and he stumbled backwards, his sword falling from his hands and away from Elinors neck. However the proper lass had all she could take and with a gasp she fell to the floor. Eric looked at her for a brief moment and then his eyes darted for Evelyn. He knew this move had put her life at risk but he was hoping she noticed what he had been up to and prepared herself.*

::Barbossa smirked as Selina approached. She was a stunning sight to behold, of that he had to admit. She was also quick-witted and very, very sharp tongued. Perhaps that's what drew him to her::
::Yet not in the way most men were drawn to her, mind you. There was something indescribably natural about their friendship, something that just sort of 'clicked'. Barbossa hadn't noticed it until more recently, ever since the events at Mt. Olympus. He felt he could trust her...and that was very new feeling for him::
::Since having made her his first mate, she was always by his side. So when she walked up next to him and began speaking in her native language with the young boy, he merely allowed it::
"What? What'd 'e say, Selina?" ::Barbossa pressed. He knew a little Spanish, but preferred to rely on his first mate to translate instead. Made things easier on him::
"Says he went with a group of soldiers looking for it and when they found it they left without touching a thing." ::she translated, sounding slightly unconvinced. She said something else to the lad in Spanish, but he, looking up at Barbossa, relied in English for the pirate's benefit::
"Si... We found the island, and trekked for days through the jungle until at last we came to the legendary City of Gold. It was magnificent....riches as far as we could see! Yet the treasure we were after was far more valuable than the gold or gems. It was the Dagger of Curunin."
"An' wh't makes this dagger so valuable, eh?" ::Barbossa pressed. He wasn't sure whether or not he believed this boy, but.... it sure made for a good story::
::The boy made a face. If he lied about the story, he might be able to get revenge on this man who had dare to strike him. After all, if anyone deserved the fate his own crew had suffered in that accursed city, it was Captain Barbossa. Yet, on the other hand, if Barbossa somehow already knew this tale, and found out he was lying to him, it could mean death. Or worse....::
::But when the captain struck him across the face again and told him to hurry up, he made up his mind. This man would get what he deserved after all....:: "I-it's a magical dagger! One that gives its owner the ability to bring down upon his enemies a fate worse than death." ::Well, so far it was the truth....::
"An' why didn' ye and yer crew take this magical dagger then?" ::came the pirate's dripping remark. He was obviously losing interest, something the boy couldn't afford::

::Jack turned ready to fight when Will walked in. His face lit up in a broad gold studded grin. A sincere look of joy::
"Well Mr. Turner.....I see that while I've been gone nothing has changed in this too calm little port....." :he walked over to Will and looked at him carefull,y as if searching his young friend's face for any signs of worry, or sadness.....he often did that...analyzed people's faces....looking for the things they were hiding from the world...often gave him an advantage in fights...his eyes narrowed...and in finding nothing serious Jack smiled:
"Do you think your lovely lass will kill me if I ask to steal you for a treasure hunt?"

*Will simply grunted as Jack commented about Port Royal and he looked around and nodded. Did anything exciting ever really happen in this place? He raised a brow as the man searched his face and then he grinned and folded his arms.* I don't think she'll kill you. If it weren't for her getting to go to Mount Olympus last time though I think we'd both be dead. *Will laughed, then he shrugged a little and glanced over at Rose, still finding it hard to believe she was actually the daughter of Jack. The whole thing just seemed strange.* Besides, she'll probably come this time. *He added.*

Evelyn's eyes darted about, she breathed in heavily as the man's blade dug into her neck and she bit her lip. She glared at Eric. What was he DOING? He really was an idiot...I mean he was saving that WOMAN when he SHOULD be focusing on her. Eve growled but paid it no mind. It didn't matter, she didn't care anymore. As Eric made his move Eve yanked her hands free from the large pirates. Then she elbowed the man hard in the side, right into the deep wound she had given him. The man keeled over a bit and stumbled back a bit. Eve bent over to grab her blade but was kicked in the back and went forward and was driven into the ground hard.
Evelyn looked up, Frank was approaching her quickly. She crawled about the floor frantically, grabbed her sword, and just as Frank made his way towards her Eve managed to lift her blade and stick it through Frank's stomach. She stared up at him as his eyes widened and he looked down at her. He gave a twisted look and then fell forward, causing Eve's strength to fail and for her to drop the blade as he fell on top of her.
Eve grumbled as she pushed him off of her, her blood now stained with blood. Evelyn made her way towards the wall of the home where she caught her breath. Eve's eyes went over to Elinor as she lay out upon the floor and Evelyn brought a hand to her eye. It was warm and she felt her left eye closing slowly. Evelyn blinked and then looked back at Elinor. "Well, at least SHE's alright." Evelyn said with a groan as she stood up slowly. Her back was to the wall and she looked down at herself. She was a mess. She would get stopped for sure walking around Port Royale in THIS sort of mess.
Evelyn took a deep breath and thought of herself first. She wouldn't be caught here by Naval Officers, it could be the end of her. She stalked towards Eric as casually as she could and lifted a brow. Her hands were on her hips and she spoke sternly. "Listen mate, would it be too much if ye gave me a clean shirt? I mean, ye DID put my life in danger, the least ye could do is give me that." Evelyn told him non-chalantly as she prodded her eye gently.
Her eyes went down to the two of them briefly and seeing him worried so much for her bothered Evelyn from somewhere deep within but she wouldn't let it show.

::Jack's eyes lit with that sparkle that could only be Sparrow madness....:: "Elizabeth will be coming then will she? Best to be hidin' the rum then......what with her and the ..." ::Jack pitched his voice in a eerie mockery of Elizabeth's voice:
"It is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels......"
::Jack grinned a bit more then looked at Rose, glad to see her. Then he turned mischievous eyes on Will: "any more young little Turner's on the way, lad? A few more wee pirates to bring chaos into the wild waters again? Or will that be left up to my own children?"

*Will laughed as Jack mocked Elizabeth and he simply shook his head. She had changed since then but how she would act on another outting he wasn't exactly sure. It had been two years since she'd been on one and the first really wasn't her decision.* Are you sure it was the rum she was upset about, or the fact that a certain someone decided the scenery was a little nicer with her around? *He grinned, raising a brow. Then he gave the Captain an odd look at the mention of children and he shifted rather uncomfortably.* No, for now the Caribbean should be happy knowing there's just the one Turner. I think they've got enough to handle with three Sparrows! *He grunted, glancing between Jack and Rose. Will and Elizabeth had talked about having children but it was something that hadnt yet been set into stone really. Will wasn't even sure what kind of father he would make, or if he was ready to be one for that matter. He simply grinned.*

*Eric watched as Evelyn took the pirate down and he sighed in relief as she rolled the man off her and then he glanced at Elinor as she commented about her. He nodded and shrugged, glad to see that she was unhurt. He started to kneal down beside the unconcious woman when Evelyn came stalking towards him, the usual hands on the hips and stern look on her face as she asked him for a shirt. He stood back up and glanced down at her, folding his arms as he grunted. He couldn't believe she was making it out to be his fault that she had nearly gotten killed.* Im just as much at fault as you are. *He stated annoyed and then he nodded his head towards the small room at the back of the house where his bedroom sat.* There should be a clean shirt under the bed in a wooden crate. *He stated flatly. Then he knealt back down by Elinor and cradled her in his arms as he shook her a bit, looking her over for any wounds. He was glad to find that she wasn't hurt.* Elinor, wake up. It's over now you're fine. *He said softly, shaking her again. She stirred a little and her eyes batted open as she looked up at him. She reached up and touched his cheek then sat up and flung her arms about his neck, hugging him tightly.* Oh Eric, Im so glad that you're alright. I was so afraid! Who was that woman and why did those men chase her in here? You acted like you knew her. *She asked, still holding him. They both rose to their feet and he gently pulled away from her, taking his sleeve and wiping the bit of dust from her cheeks and nose.* I did know her, at one time. *He said simply, hoping she'd let it go. But of course she didn't.* How did you know her? Was she the one who gave you the necklace? *She asked, glancing at his pocket. He suddenly remembered it and his brow furrowed a bit and he shrugged.* She's an old aquaintence. *He replied, ignoring the last piece of her question. Elinor sighed and nodded, knowing she wasn't going to get much more out of him. She placed her hands upon either side of his cheek and smiled none-the-less.* Well either way, I'm glad to see that you are alright. I was dreadfully worried and hopefully we can put this whole mess behind us. *She said in a cheery voice. Eric put on a fake smile and nodded as he sighed heavily.*

Evelyn began to walk away when she noticed Eric bend over and cradle Elinor in his arms. Evelyn groaned a few cursed under he breath and she headed towards the bedroom. She turned and made to close the door, but left it ajar, peering out to see as Eric cleaned Elinor's face off and she flung her arms around his neck. Evelyn's grip around the doorknob tightened but she simply shook her head.
When he described her as an old acquaintance she bit her lip. What was wrong? Had he completely forgotten her then? He was acting as if nothing had ever occured between them. It hurt and Evelyn turned away from the scene, forgetting to close the door and heading for the crate under the bed. She pulled out a clean shirt and then slipped out of her other one. She lingered a moment as she blinked looking about the plain room. THIS was where Eric might one day spend the nights with that woman.
Evelyn growled a bit but placed it at the back of her mind. She took up the clean shirt and slipped it on. She touched her swollen eye, she was almost completely sightless out of her left eye now. Turning she headed for the door and left, grabbing her things. She stood for a moment, awkwardly, in the hall and looking around wondering if she should simply storm away. But deep down, she simply couldn't leave so bluntly, and she didn't know why.

*Eric glanced about the mess in the room that was once his table and cups and he frowned a bit, wondering what to do with the two men now dead in his living room. He pulled away from Elinor and shoved his hands in his pockets, sighing heavily.* Well, we can't just leave them here. They don't exactly make the best decoration eh? *He grinned, glancing over his shoulder at Elinor. She looked at him disgusted and shook her head, refusing to come anywhere near the two bodies. She wouldn't come near men like that while they were alive, much less messy and dead.* You always have to joke about everything don't you! I can run back home and fetch one of the butlers to clean up this mess if you'd like. *She offered. Eric raised a brow to her then he laughed and shook his head.* No I can manages. It's just a couple bodies and some furniture. *He stated. Elinor simply sighed and wrapped her arms about her. Eric nudged one of the bodies with his foot just to make sure it wouldn't spring back to life and then he nodded, sure that it wouldnt. As he glanced up he caught a brief sight of Evelyn changing and he was about to look away quickly when he noticed scars upon her back, obviously from a whip and his brow furrowed. She really had faced a lot in her lifetime and whether he wanted it to or not, it did affect him. Finally he cleared his throat and tore his eyes away, gathering up the broken cups and tossing them in a washbasin while Elinor actually helped him move the couch back. The coffee table he just shoved into a corner of the room to fix later. He brushed his hands together and spotted Evelyn standing in the hallway now in a fresh shirt. He stared at her a moment and Elinor noticed this, quickly coming over to him and grabbing his arm as she smiled up at him. He glanced down at her for a moment then looked back at Evelyn.* While you're still here you should help me get these bodies out of my house. There may not be much to my house but I usually prefer it to be free of dead people. *He stated. Elinor wrinkled her nose.* I think I would rather wait outside while you two go about doing that. I shall wait for you out there, Eric. I would love it if you would walk me home. *She smiled, kissing his cheek. Eric nodded.* Alright, it shouldn't take long. *He stated. Elinor squeezed his hand then looked at Evelyn and narrowed her eyes at her, yet a mocking grin lingered on her lips. She knew there was more about this woman than Eric was letting on and just the thought that Eric was with a pirate woman made her uncomfortable. With that last look she turned swiftly and hurried from the house.*

Evelyn glanced about the messy house and she looked up at Eric as he spoke. She simply refused to meet his eyes and reverted to biting her nails a bit. "Erm...righ', s'ppose its the least I can do." Evelyn stated a bit awkwardly. As Elinor spoke Evelyn gave her a deadly stare. When she kissed his cheek she looked away and kept on chewing her nails. The woman was EXACTLY what she pictured Eric with anyway really. Evelyn rolled her eyes at the woman as she left and groaned a bit. "Bloody woman...can' even bloody be polite 'bout this all. Ye know if I hadn' put my bloody blade down, ye would 'ave died!" Evelyn called after her disgruntled.
Evelyn the brushed past him, heading for the bodies. Evelyn looked them over and sighed heavily. "Well there's only ONE thing we can do with 'em really." Evelyn stated. She disappeared and returned pushing the crate from his room out. "Here. Stick the small one in 'ere." Evelyn said as she opened the crate. She refused to look at Eric for too long. She only stole glances at him. Then disappearing and returning with a a large crate she sighed heavily as she brushed back a few of her curls. "I see ye've moved on." Evelyn told him with a grunt as she hoisted the smaller man into the crate and closed it up.
"Didn' think it'd be so bloody soon." Evelyn said as she lifted her brows and glanced over at Elinor and then spat on the ground. She was disgusted with that woman. "SHE needs ta learn some bloody manners." Evelyn stated with a nod. Evelyn pushed back a curl and her fingertips brushed her swollen, black, and blue eye. The she pat her nose lightly which still throbbed a bit. "I don' like 'er. Not that it'd matter ta you, I'm sure." Evelyn told him giving him sarcastic smile. "She's right for ye though...with all her faults she is the dainty, kind, an' bloody impossibly boring woman of yer dreams." Evelyn said as she slammed the top down.
She bit her lip slightly as she looked to him, wondering how fiercely he'd defend Elinor. She wanted to know EXACTLY how much this woman meant to him, trying to convince herself that she didn't care either way. Suddenly she looked around his neck and noticed her necklace was not there. Perhaps he had thrown it out...it seems he had gotten her replaced so easily already anyway.

*Eric rolled his eyes as Evelyn began chewing on her nails again.* You're still doing that? *He asked with a raised brow. Then a look of surprise came over his face as Evelyn yelled at Elinor as the woman exited the house. He looked at her slightly angry and nudged her a bit.* Don't yell at her like that. You can look at her and tell she isn't used to this kind of thing. *Eric stated as she brushed past him towards the bodies. He followed after her and watched as she fetched a couple crates from his room, deciding to use them to sneak the bodies out of the house. For a moment he wondered what she did with all the clothes that used to be inside but he shrugged it off, figuring ridding the house of the bodies was more important at the moment. He noticed that she was refusing to make eye contact with him and this bothered him greatly and made him rather uncomfortable. As he began to lift the larger man into the bigger crate he suddely looked over at Evelyn, wondering if he had heard her right.* You say that like you're surprised. I would have figured that you'd of moved on by now too. *He stated flatley. As she began to comment about Elinor, Eric rolled his eyes and slammed his trunk down angrily, accidently closing it on the mans hand.* Damnit *He muttered, shoving it back into the crate and again slamming the lid down to re-make his point.* You know what, Evelyn. No, I really dont care what you think about Elinor. And you don't know her so stop commenting like you do. *He stated, shoving his hands back into his pockets.* And another thing! *He cried, bringing his hand back out to point at her. However the necklace in his pocket flew out and landed on the floor at his feet. He looked down at it and felt his face grow hot. He coughed embarassed and quickly kicked it under the couch.* Can we just get these out of here so you can get back to doing whatever it was you were in Port Royal for so I can get back to my normal life? *He asked, bending over and grabbing the large crate to push it towards the door. As he did he noticed something on Evelyns arm, recognizing it instantly as a pirate brand and he furrowed his brow, wondering where she got it from and what she had done to get it. He glanced up at her for a moment and then quickly looked away, continuing to push the crate out the door.*

Evelyn shoved the crates out the door as he spoke to her. When he mentioned he thought'd she'd have moved on Evelyn groaned. "Well, on the seas ye don' meet many men with bloody honorable intentions, savvy? An' I'm no wench...so no. I haven' found myself anyone really." Evelyn said as she sighed heavily. When he mentioned not caring what she thought of Elinor she merely mutterd. "Bloody figures." Her eyes then looked up at him angrily as he spoke to her. "I don' know her, do I? I know she's got no bloody manners! I know the woman's as frail as a bloody feather, tha's quite enough ta make me hate her an' yer not gonna keep me from doin' so!" Evelyn shouted at him.
As he spoke again the necklace flew out and fell onto the floor. She blinked at it, recognizing it for a brief second. That was the necklace she had given him. "Get back to yer normal life...bloody fine by me! But don' ye bloody go yellin' at me!" Evelyn barked at him as she shoved the crate passed Elinor, 'accidently' knocking her a bit.
She shoved the crate out and down the streets, muttering all the way. "That was my bloody necklace back there wasn' it?" Evelyn asked looking over her shoulder at him briefly. Her eyes still were avoiding his and she huffed a bit. "At least ye kept THAT with ye." Evelyn said as she continued to shove the crates down the street. "Looks like ye bloody fit in here." She said as she gazed around. Her honeyed eyes looked him over once again as she glanced at him and then she blinked. Then she gave a deep sigh and pulled up her courage. "Are ye happy then? Do ye like it here? Is everythin' pleasin' enough for ye?" Evelyn asked him in a half serious half sarcastic tone.
She didn't know WHY exactly she had brought this up. It just seemed natural. She really did want to know if he was happy, even if she didn't care too much. Its just, it bothered her how quickly he had replaced her, and now, instead of trying to help her he was fawning over that Elinor woman. She groaned slightly and she shoved the crate with anger in her as well.

Post by Luis on Jul 29, 2004 21:35:53 GMT -5
Luis walked down the streets of Port Royale and made for the docks, ready to set off and head towards Tortuga, hoping to find what he was looking for. He had made a few purchases, seen a few lovely ladies, and had generally gone about his charming business when he heard a bit of an angry voice through the whole pleasant chatter and he looked to see where it was coming from.
Suddenly, Luis opened his eyes widely. It was Evelyn. There was no mistaking the curls that came out form the rag, the red feathered earring, the angry tone in the voice. This was it. Suddenly as he stepped forward he paused. That man...the man close by was the one who had beaten Luis heavily about a year ago. Luis blinked, but then smiled slyly as it appeared they weren't too happy in eachothers' presence. He gave the man a disgusted look and casually made his way towards Evelyn.
Luis slicked back his hair and put on a charming smile. "Evelyn?" His voice came out as smooth as honey, but a hidden hiss lay there as well. "Well, long time no see!" Luis said with a broad smile walking up to the woman. Suddenly as Evelyn turned he cringed a bit. "Evelyn, what happened to you? Are you alright? Was it HIM!?" Luis asked as he shot a glance at the blonde man beside her. He made to instantly comfort her but her, if he was to gain ANY bit of her trust now he would need to be, or at least FAKE that he was completely concerned for her and that he genuinely cared. He looked down as her hand went to her blade and he backed off a bit. "Evelyn, it is VERY good to see you."
Luis said a bit cautiously, attempting to calm her. "I KNOW I have done some horrible things in the past..." He looked around Port Royale, shifting his eyes looking for a tavern of some sort. "But, I come to speak with you..." He looked to Eric briefly. "PRIVATELY if we could." Luis asked. He lifted his arms. "I SWEAR my intentions are of the noble sort, but if it makes you feel more...erm...comfortable, you can bring a...'friend' if you wish." At these words Luis looked to Eric and his eyes narrowed. He looked at him a bit disgusted but kept his charming smile upon his face.
He would absolutely LOATHE this assignment, he had never wanted to see Evelyn's face again after the events upon the Devil's Wrath. True, at ONE point, he honestly did love her...but he felt as if she was simply dirt after the things he had seen upon the ship. Society would never have accepted a used woman like her. He had seen the way she was, killing without remorse, spitting her words in her drunken stupor, in some way Luis thought he could save her from that mess, but slowly he realized she wasn't worth the work. Even if she HAD changed then, she STILL would have been that used, bruised, and beaten woman.
He stared her over, even with all her faults he had to admit she was a bit...captivating, a curiousity really...but he knew she loathed him beyond anything, and to try and get her trust would be an almost impossible task but he would have to attempt to, he needed that map...SPAIN needed it...to keep it safe and away from the rest of the world's greedy hands that would unknowingly unleash a curse within it. If he REALLY had to, he WOULD woo Evelyn once again, the woman was always a fool for love really...that was her weakness...

Rose grinned broadly as she saw her dad and the donkey, saluting Jack cheerfully. She listened as they talked, then laughed and indignantly smacked Will's shoulder. "What on earth d'you mean, mate? There's nothin' wrong with havin' lotsa Sparrows aboard!" She winked at her father, then added, "Oh yeah, an' we might be 'avin' another guest. Lad named Mark...works at th' gunsmith's...'e gave me this." She pulled the pistol out of her belt to show Jack, admiration plainly in her eyes. "'Sn't it nice?"
