::Jack was Jack. He caught the words being exchanged. In fact he would be surprised if anyone with half a mind didn't catch the words being hurled by Roux::
:For a moment Jack stood staring at them. He made a secret choice then and there. Roux had been one of his crew for a damn long time. He was a god and yet he'd given Jack service as if he were a mortal and that sort of humility Jack realized and acknowledged as rare.::
:::Jack privatly told himself that if he could help this god he would. He'd restore him as he'd restore Jack when he lay wounded. It was something that even Jack's crafty and often crazy mind could understand. The god deserved to be what he was..:

Roux kept his eyes on his brother. and finally finally shook the feeling of desolation from his mind and looked at Hermes with caring eyes.
"we have survived the Ages together as Brothers." Roux began. "but maybe now it is simply my time to fade in memory like so many other things. The Sun will go on without me. and I will remain here. But you, Brother, you'll live on and I want you to know that if I should reamin forever a mortal then die as mortals do. Our paths will separate. For no doubt if Father feels strongly enough to make me mortal. Then he no doubt will not want you around me."
Roux's words halted for a moment as if the next one's would break him. "I want you to know that of all the gods, my twin sister included you were always the one that caused me the most despair from your antics and the most joy from the moment of your birth."
Roux hung his head a moment unable to bear the thought of leaving the siblings he loved so well. His sister, Artemis for all her wildness made him laugh. athena in all her wisedom was still his sister and one he sought advice from. Hermes. His young trickster of a brother.:
For a few moments Roux seemd to consider every memory he'd ever had surrounding he favored young brother. And his now hollow eyes filled up with tears. If he could not return tothe heavens as the sun he would at least feel better knowing Hermes guarded the Sun.:
Slowly he drew out a necklace from under his shirt. A beautifully created golden chain. And the pendant that hung from it was worth a king's ransom. A bright golden sun, flamed and rayed in all it's glory shone. precious gems of red and diamonds of the clearest quality glittered. Roux looked at his brother.
He smiled faintly then turned his back as if he were preparing to turn his back on all he knew. "you'll be my brother always and my truest friend. I wish you well. Not as a god, for I've no right to claim that title any longer. but as your brother." Carefully he put the necklace around his brother's neck. A sign he was ready to face his new life if it came to that but he'd have no other but Hermes rule in his place. He had chosen.
reaching out his ruffled Hermes hair up into a mess. "Go and reign like the wise godling I know you are."#nosmileys

:::Callisto's eyes widened and she stopped walking. where was Athena when you needed her? Surly the goddess could slap some sense into her Father?:::
:Callisto had never been a supporter of Zeus, finding him to judgmental and overbearing when it came to matters made from one's heart:
:Either way now she kept walking, feeling Barbossa and his crew following. The Box was near. She could feel it. And she frowned. she could use this to her advantagenow. But for what purpose. For Selina whom she had promised? Certainly not Barbossa if it could be helped. To Jack? Jack wanted the Box she could feel that. But now Apollo had need of it as well.......:

:Linea saw Roux as he placed the pendant over Hermes's head. She knew it was now final. There was nothing she could do or say that could make him change his mind as she prayed her would. Blinking away new tears that welled up in her eyes at this realization, she got up from her seat and walked over to him. She nodded to them both and spoke softly to them both.:
If you'll excuse me Hermes, I've just one thing to say and I shall leave at once.
:Turning to Roux, she sighed and looked him right in the eyes.:
Roux, you cannot do this, you just cannot. I know what it means to you to fly with the sun and all, but you cannot just give it all up in the blink of an eye. Fight for it, it may not be easy, but at least you failed while fighting for what you want. I cannot stay here and see you linger when I know your heart and soul lies elsewhere. Do not give up easily. You were put into a position you did not want, as we all did not want. You made your choice, but I'm telling you, it's the wrong one, I know it. You'll regret this one day, while you're walking the earth as a mortal with your days numbered and fading away every slowly. Time changes and it will change you and I don't want to see you hurt. Please, don't choose this, it's not what you really want. Just think, if you'd never had met me, this never would have happened. Please rethink your decision, please.
:With her final words, she walked away, tears in her eyes to the other end of the ship to gather her thoughts again. She couldn't face him longer than she did before tears enveloped her as she sat on the deck with her back resting on the side of the ship.:

*Will gave Jack a sidelong glance and grinned a little at his comment about the rum, how it should even work on Roux now. As the Captain poured the rum in the mans mouth Will watched on eagerly, hoping that the God would stir in some way, even if it was only a little. When he sputtered and sat up Will smiled happily, but frowned again as he could see the emptiness and lifelessness in Rouxs eyes. When asked about his brother Will glanced at Linea as she explained. He wasn't sure what to say when the God said he would no longer be of any help to them. Surely he could fight couldn't he? Mortal or not? But then it made him more vulnerable and Will wasn't exactly quaint with the idea of a God getting killed. Somehow, it just didn't seem right...or fair. His smile returned when Roux offered his services anyways, despite his vulnerability now and Will admired this greatly. As Jack left, Will placed his hand upon Rouxs shoulder and smiled.* I'm glad you're with us Roux. *He said simply then turned and walked out of the room, leaving him with Linea and the others who wished to stay. He figured the man needed his space. As he got up on deck he noticed that Hermes had arrived and he felt a sense of relief come over him. Now they'd know why this had all happened. He listened carefully, overhearing enough of the conversation to know what was going on and he frowned, shaking his head a bit. How could a father do something like that to his own son? God or not, it wasn't right. He trudged back towards his room and as he got in there, he found Eric sleeping on his bed. He furrowed his brow and shook the man.* Eric, why aren't you in your cabin? *He asked curiosly.*
*Eric groaned and rolled over as he felt someone shaking him. He glanced up and saw Wills outline in the dimly lit room, illuminated only by the moon and a small candle, all the wax nearly gone and the wick taking its last breaths.* Sarah's using my cabin. *He stated groggily. Will raised a brow.*
Sarah's in your cabin, and Evy hasn't killed you yet? By the way, what the 'ell happened in there earlier? *He asked. Eric sat up, throwing his legs over the edge of the bed as he glanced up at Will, a blank look upon his tired face.*
Nothing happened, don't worry about it. *He said, standing up and stretching. He grabbed a spare blanket and rolled it up, laying down on the floor with it propped beneath his head. Despite the discomfort of sleeping on the creaky wooden floor, he quickly fell back to sleep. Will simply shook his head, removing his boots and slipping beneath the covers of the bed, falling asleep himself.*

*Tobbs yawned as she sharpened the blade she held, wishing it was from tire rather than boredom. She managed to get through almost all of her blades, she'd reloaded her two guns, and she'd otherwised restocked anything she lacked in her room or for her weapons. Basically, as much as she wished she hadn't, she'd run out of things to do...*
*Standing with a sigh of frustration, she placed her effects where they belonged and retied her hair back. She made a decision; whether or not Jack Sparrow was in that room with Roux or not, she'd go see him if it killed her; after all, she'd just ignore the man and check up on Roux, she wouldn't even have to take a glance at him.*
*She gave herself a reassuring nod before making her way out into the hall, marching straight up to Roux's cabin door and opening it softly. When she noted no one was there, she furrowed her brows and wondered what in blazes was going on...*
*That's when she head Roux's voice up on deck. She let herself have a hint of relief at the notion that he might be better now, as she didn't like suprises-always expect the worse-that's what she told herself in these situations.*
*Heading up on deck, she noted most everyone had their eyes towards one location; Hermes and Roux. She, as mentioned before, rather disliked being seen as an eavesdropper, so she began walking away from the two. She couldn't help but hear some of Linea's words as the woman confessed her thoughts to the former god, and she realized just how serious this was. So Roux was now mortal? And mayhap for good? Oi, this wasn't good!*
*Making note to talk to Hermes about all this, she watched Linea quickly make her way away from him, and she had half the mind to follow. Again though, shye knew it wasn't her place, and that either the lady would need time, or Roux would have the right words for her.
*Tobbs rather did feel out of place in a lot of these matters. She muttered softy to herself and went off to the side of the ship to sit upon a barrel. Once seated, she gazed off into the night, feeling she'd probably be seated here all night, as no sleep had crept up to haunt her yet.*

Evelyn smiled as Eric lifted the metal bucket and she chuckled lightly. As he finally left, Evy closed the door, and locked it. Her honey eyes scanned the room, the plain, dingy surroundings. Digging into her pocket Evelyn found the necklace he had given her, the ruby, completely dulled of its once brilliant glimmer.
She took a deep sigh and ran her fingers through her long curls, taking a strand of her hair, and looking it over. The salty sea, the scorching sun, and the breeze's the blew hard had done quite some damage to her mane of curls, making them a bit dried out. Evelyn smirked looking at her brown locks and bit her lip. She bit her nails, gnawing at what was now almost none existant.
Looking to her cot she moved towards it, removing her boots first, and making herself comfortable. She slipped under her sheets and lay on her side, staring out at the emptiness, and it seemed this night was emptier than any she could remember. This entire night had lingered on TOO long...and TOO painfully, closing her eyes she felt a chill run through her, as a wash of loneliness fell over her. She would have to get used to this bland, lonely, feeling again...for the past few days she had been filled with a strange feeling, but now...once again...darkness...and it would stay this way now...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Selina woke the next morning entangled in Damien's arms and she fluttered her eyes open. They had fallen asleep together, and Selina had had one of the calmest nights she could remember. Looking to Damien she smiled softly and gently kissed his lips as she woke. Again, she had awaken before him, but it was a habit. All these years Selina had seemingly developed an intuition that woke her before her male counterpart would, thus allowing her to go through with her plans...
She slipped on her boots and various other items of clothing, before she headed out of the door and managed to find her way up upon the decks of the Pearl. Passing a few of the men from the crew a few cross words came her way. She simply stared them all down, not raising a finger, simply growling towards them. If they laid a hand on her, they would get their due.
Selina stared up at Callisto and then suddenly the ship was surrounded in a fog, then in a flash it seemed, they cam upon an island. Selina ran to the starboard side of the ship where she saw the great island. She widened her eyes and she smiled. "Finally." Selina said with a sigh of relief.
Soon the whole crew had gathered their things and they began to leave the ship. Callisto leading the way as a few shouts came her way but Barbossa quieted them all with a loud bark. Selina bit down upon her lip and searched around for Damien, how would he follow? There was too much sun out and not enough cover for him. Still, gripping the hilt of her sword she ran up alongside Callisto.
"You better keep to your word!" Selina told her gruffly. "Remember, without me you won't get off this bloody island!"
Oh Roux could feel every eye on deck on him and his brother. every single one. He sighed and watched as Linea walked away then simply shook his head.
there was never a time in Roux's reckoning that a god favored by Zeus had been expelled from the heavens. And this choice made was not one that could be dismissed.
but she had a point. He could go down fighting for his birthright. And he would. go down. If need be. Right now, helping this crew. That was what mattered to him.
::The island was fast approaching. Jack's eyes clouded over a moment and he felt someone touch his eyes. Not touch realy. it was a odd feeling. Callisto was guiding him there. A gentle yet very purposeful touch on his eyes and it allowed him to see the island.:::
::and then the wheel was wrenched from his grip and steered onto a correct path. Jack frowned and something told him to just accept it and let it go. So he did. gods and priesteses and heaven knows what else had control here. Not him. not now.::
::now he simply sought out the refuge of his own room. He shut the door and sat down on his bed: "If someone up there wanted to test my patience you could have just sent a plague of locusts or something." He muttered tiredly.::
::He was in fact tired. So tired. And the ship was guiding itself. no need to interfere with a good thing. Besides even if he wanted to he had a feeling he couldn't. He simply armed himself to the teeth and then lay down a moment or two. He was going to stay a few weeks in tortuga after this. No pirating for a good long while.........:::
::Callisto's mind was split in three places. Multitasking as only she could. part of her was taking over Jack's ship. The other was listening to Zeus in all his mighty arrogance and the other part was listening to Selina. This last part was a threat:
"you will get your immortality." She snapped. "I never break my word." She gave a indignant sniff and walked faster, taking longer strides daring her to keep up:
:And there they were. A stone wall on the side of a mountain jutting up from the sand in a alien way. Clearly this place should not be where it was. A black stoned mountain in the middle of a sheer expanse of white sand:
"Here." She said simply. but she stalled a little. She put her hands on the stone as if trying to figure out some puzzle here. "give me some time."
Hermes said nothing as his brother spoke, but felt unfamiliar tears prickle at his eyes. "No," he finally said, after Linea had spoken. "Brother, listen to me, and listen to the woman you share a bond of love with. By all the stars, by all the gods, and by the river Styx I swear I will not let you do this." His oath was solemn, his eyes hard. "I cannot let you so calmly give yourself in when it's so obvious you wish to return. If it takes my own immortality, every drop of strength in me, I will see to it that you return to all your glory."
He took the pendant from his neck and returned it to Roux. "Keep this," he said firmly. "You'll be needing it again." With that solemn last word, Hermes flew over to the wheel, where Hawk was standing, looking deep in thought. God and Sparrow stood on either side of the wheel, allowing the ship to guide itself.
Rose had heard the whole thing and bit her lip. It shattered her to see such an exchange take place...what would happen to the brothers? Roux was a crewmate, a fellow man under the captain...she couldn't let anything happen to him. She'd come to genuinely care for the strange god Hermes ever since he'd come aboard, wreaking havoc in their lives. Both of them deserved to be happy.
She turned her stormy eyes to her father, returning to his cabin, and followed him. She knocked on the door as he entered, peering in. "Dad?" she asked hesitantly. "C'n I ask you somethin'?"
Roux blinked at his brother then noded. "We will let Fate decide." He said simply and walked towards the main mast. There he climbed the rigging to the crow's nest and stood his face turned back to the sun.
"Whatever is decided." He muttered to himself. "I will do the best I can along that path."
::it was Rose of course. and he nodded at her when she peered inside. He got the distinct impression of a her as a very young girl. her features looking more like Katrina now then ever: "C'n I ask you somethin'?"
::Jack nodded and then motioned to a stool he had near his bed: "O' course. come on in."
::He waited silently until she sat down then raised a eyebrow: "ye have something to ask me?" it was a odd feeling. Having a child. Jack decided to himself. A person that was half of you and half of someone else. strange.::
*Tobbs fiddled with her hair as she looked out over the sea. She really needed to try and sleep at least. All this waiting would not do her any good, as she didn’t even know what it was she was waiting for. She couldn’t sleep because she never really had done so a lot in the past, but she did need to rest a tiny bit before their next encounter with Barbossa.*
*Closing her eyes to let the sea air have her concentration for the last few seconds, she stood and made her way towards the stairs to below deck. As she made her way over, she couldn’t help but pass the Captain’s Quarters and hear voices inside. A rather impatient need to confront Jack with all her frustration arose in her and drew her to the door. She recognized Rose’s voice and Jack’s, and as she prepared to enter, she dismissed the feeling of being rude or disrespectful on barging in as so.*
*Tobbs entered with her chin tilted upwards and her hand on her hip, annoyance making its presence known in her eyes and the slightly angry expression she wore. She had tried to at least wait until the end of their conversation to walk in like so, as she had much respect for Rose; but since she had no respect for Jack at this point, she didn’t care if he minded.*
”Sparrow, I need a ‘word’ with you.”
*She frowned angrily as she felt the tension again, wishing she could then and there completely speak her mind to the captain. She bowed her head in respect to Rose as the girl looked up in her direction, and narrowing her eyes on Jack, she revealed his jacket he’d covered her with again as she slept. Throwing it on the floor before her, she huffed angrily and spoke up before leaving the room for the two to finish their talk.*
“Mayhap when yer done, you can brave up enough courage to confront me while I’m awake, as I don’t want to impose now upon your conversation with Miss Rose here, savvy?”
*She said the last word in a growl really, and turning her back to the door after a final nod to Rose, she rolled her eyes at the whole notion that Jack would even come to speak with her. Mayhap he would…*
