Orestes sighed deeply, then looked straight forward. "You remember that mortal woman I wooed, about two decades ago?" he asked quietly; the nostalgic mood was an unusual one for the god. "Well...I never told you, or anyone, this...but it was Katarina Glassman, the mother of Jack Sparrow's twins."
He paused for a while, then continued. "She rejected me...assuring me that it was an honour to be selected by a god...but she was still holding on to Jack's memory.
"Well, of course it's touching when mortals fall in love...but still, to refuse a god..." Orestes shook his head. "I'm afraid I revealed to her, then, the two choices before her. Of the life the twins she bore Jack would have. She could keep both babies...and have them lead calm, peaceful, uneventful lives...and die unremembered. Or she could give one up...the first-born...and raise the other. Then they would have fame and glory...be remembered forever." His voice was even as he spoke; the prophecy regarding Jack Sparrow's children was a new one, and well-remembered.
"Well, naturally, what kind of life would the former be for the children of Jack Sparrow? It was hard on Katarina, but she made her choice gracefully." Admiration was plain in Orestes's voice. "She was a remarkeable woman, Katarina. I'm not sure if I've still let her go. When it came time for her to die, I pleaded with the Fates. They were shocked I'd beg for the life of the woman who rejected me...but..." He shrugged, but it was obvious it bothered him still.
"Where was I? Oh yes. I repented of revealing the prophecy to her...though it was inevitable...and so I bespelled the medallions she gave her children. The ones with the eye...and Jack's initials...she hoped that they'd lead them to each other, and to their father. I went one step further, and made her the vow that it would one day happen."
Orestes turned back to Roux. "That's why Rose is still out, by the way. When your magic swept over her...both times...it collided with mine. The magic of mine was old...you know that time-lagged magics of different gods often conflict. Well, they had a bad effect on her. Don't worry, she's fine now...she'll wake up soon, I think. She's not unconscious...just sleeping it off..."
He sighed, looking away. "So now you know...and I still feel horrible about letting the Pearl go...I promised Katarina I'd watched over Jack, and her children, and now I've let her down..."

Roux had stopped breathing. So that was what was troubling his young brother. he had to admit he'd not given the playful pursuits of his wild sibling much thought. After all, Hermes had loved nearly every woman in Greece at one point or another. passion and fire put into each relationship of course. but still.
the mother of Jack's children! if that wasn't the Fates laughing their head off nothing was. Apollo had to stop and let that information sink in completly. he shook his head.
"Brother, you have changed the fate of what might have been!" He was about to launch into a trirade of reasons for not toying with fate and love and mortals and of all things influencing the paths of mortals who had destinys of their own. But he stopped. He, Apollo, if anyone knew the paths the future made. His temples a tribute to that.
His brother felt bad enough. It was not the time to berate him. No. Hermes had acted with love and sincere compassion it seemed. A honorable thing.
"Well, brother, you have woven a strange tapestry. One I am sure we will all watch with amusment and curiosity as it unfolds, but you are free of guilt. Love and compassion, in their pure forms, are never corrupted. and you may have changed things for the better."
Roux sighed and looked towards the Sea. "And you are not guilty of letting the Pearl escape. Fate has plans and we must follow. we would be fools to mettle in the affairs of mortals more deeply then we are now."
He turned his golden eyes on his brother. "Does that comfort you any? I hope it does as I'm not accostumed to seeing you in such a somber mood. I would take my wild, rash young brother over this new serious you any day. " He grinned and ruffled his brother's hair. "Be happy, young god, it's not every day you get to be a pirate on such a odd adventure."

*Eric frowned a bit as Evelyn said that seeing a man hurt like he was scared her. He wondered why. Even seeing a man cry scared her and so far it seemed like Eric had done both and had done them in front of her.* Well I didn't plan this ya know. *He said with a shrug and then smiled as she took the necklace and looked it over. He was glad that she seemed to have liked it and he laughed at her comment, shrugging again as he ran his fingers through his hair.* Yeah, that would be a problem if they got an impression as wrong as that. *He winked, going over to the basin and dipping his hands in, running them through his hair again. Tortuga was already a dirty enough place without a brawl having to add to it, and frankly Eric looked like someone who hadn't seen a bit of water in half his life. He laughed at his reflection in the cracked mirror on the wall and he shook his head, turning back to Evelyn.* You know, I don't believe I've ever looked this handsom in my entire life. *He said, his words dripping with obvious humor. He walked back over to her as she started to thank him again and he smiled, shaking his head.* No need to thank me. *He said softly, running his fingers through her now loose curls as she kissed his cheek. He stroked her chin gently for a moment with his thumb and then he kissed her forehead. Eric nodded as she mentioned something about an Inn and he gave her an odd look, almost as if he was surprised that she was having the same strange feelings that she was about getting to this place.* No, no, I have that feeling too. I hope something bad hasn't happened.. *He said, growing slightly uneasy. What if something had happened to Will? He frowned and trotted over to the window, glancing out it as the feeling and calling in his mind continued to grow stronger.* Come on, we'd better get going. *He said, reaching out and taking her hand. He didn't know why, but he knew they had to get to the inn as soon as possible.*
*Will took the last sip of rum from his mug and set it down on the counter, wiping his mouth with a nearby hankerchief. He had watched the drinking show down between Emma and Evelyn with quite a bit of amusement and laughed as Eric went off with Evelyn. Those two were going to make one of the oddest pairings he had seen since he and Elizabeth. Suddenly his thoughts went back to Elizabeth and he frowned. Seeing the numerous couples upon the Pearl made him wish that he had brought her along. He was really beginning to miss being away from her, considering he hadn't been apart from her since their strange episode over a year ago. As he sighed, suddenly a new thought popped into his head and his brows furrowed. Why had he suddenly gotten the feeling that he needed to be going to an Inn? Being suddenly worried about Jack and his crew Will jumped up from the stool, threw a couple coins down on the counter and rushed into the streets of Tortuga. He shoved his way through the crowds and ignored the advances of the women until finally he found the place that he had been so strongly drawn towards. When he went inside he found Jack, Tobbs, and a few of the crew already inside. He trotted over to Jack and frowned.* What's going on? Is everything okay...I just got the strangest feeling that I needed to come here and by the looks of it I wasn't alone. *He said in a curious tone.*

Evelyn smiled as he kissed her forehead and laughed a bit. "I guess my forehead is most convenient for ye, isn' it?" She asked lifting a brow. Her hand caressed his cheek a bit. When Eric told her he felt the same she nodded. Strange, but she felt they needed to go there, "The Siren's Inn." Was all Evelyn uttered before he took her by the hand and they left.
They headed out into the darkened streets. Evelyn stumbled a bit as she walked, holding a hand to her head still. "Would ye slow down, mate?" She told him a bit angrily pulling her hand away. "I was bloody drunk a few hours ago..." She told him as she placed a hand on his shoulder, allowing herself to be supported. Her world still spun a bit, and people's faces were a bit blurry. "Yer gonna 'ave ta guide me there mate, 'm not sure exactly where I'm goin'." Evelyn told him.
She stared in the dark at strange faces, and she only regretted she couldn't focus better to stare them down. She noticed a pair of eyes eye her necklace and she tucked it under her shirt. "Right, mate. Guide me there." Evelyn told him blinking her eyes a bit, grasping his shoulder tightly.

*Eric laughed, slightly embarrased, as she yelled at him to slow down and he gave his forehead a quick smack.* Sorry about that, forgot! *He exclaimed, stopping so she could catch up to him. They walked swiftly with her clinging a hold of his shoulder as they headed towards the Siren Inn and then finally he stopped, and lifted her up, holding her so that her knees were bent over one arm while her back rested against the other and he grinned at her.* This'll go quicker I think. *He said and rushed towards the Inn. He placed her back upon the ground as they arrived in front of it and he stood before it, staring up at the sign for a moment before he glanced back down at Evelyn.* Well, we're here. *He said and stepped inside, seeing that a lot of the crew, including Will had already gathered there. He found this rather odd, seeing as to how they had all gotten that same strange feeling. Something was obviously very wrong. He went over and stood beside Will, placing a hand on his friends shoulder as he waited to hear what was going on.*

Evelyn rushed alongside Eric and when he picked her up she at first scorned him, but shrugged it away. She was clearly slowing their pace and she was beginning to feel a wave of nausea wash over her. When they arrived she looked up at the Inn as he spoke to her. Evelyn stared around seeing Jack, Tobbs, Roux, Rose passed out, and a few others. Eyeing Orestes she mumbled something under her breath. "Bloody bastard..." She said.
As he put her down Evelyn's legs felt a bit weak and she immediately sought a seat. Her head still ached a bit and the nautious notion was settling in. She really hoped they weren't going to be in quick motion anytime soon, she needed a bit of just simply staying in one place. She watched as Eric joined Will and she placed a hand through her hair. "Well?!" Evelyn spoke up in a slight growl wanting someone to explain things to her. "Does anyone know what the bloody 'ell's goin' on?" Evelyn asked. "I mean it can' be just a coincidence we all show up at the same time at the same damned Inn." Evelyn said very loudly.
She placed a hand on her knee staring around at the different people wondering had occcured.

Orestes listened to Apollo, then nodded. Slowly, a grin crept over his face, and he hugged his older brother tightly. "Thanks, 'Pollo," he said cheerfully. "Now, if you don't mind, I'll return, to check on Rose..." And return to the room he did.
Upon seeing everyone there, he noticed Evelyn glare at him. Figuring he wouldn't feel any more humble than he did now, he approached her and gave her a sweeping bow. "Miss Evelyn," he said sincerely, "I apologize for my behaviour aboard the Pearl. It was uncalled for...I shouldn't've acted out of place, as a new crewmember. You, as a veteran to the ship I've joined and a lady, ought to be treated with the respect you deserve. I'm very sorry." He lifted his eyes to meet hers; they shone with sincerity.

Evelyn looked away as Orestes took a glance at her and she muttered silently to herself again. She was tempted to approach the man herself but she held back. Clearly this was not the time and place for any sort of quarrel with anyone, let alone one of her crewmates. When he approached her slowly Evelyn lifted a brow and looked him over curiously. Her face was stern and her arms crossed as he approached her.
As he spoke Evelyn nodded. "Damn right about that." She muttered as he said it was uncalled for. When he called her a lady she gave a loud laugh. As his eyes met hers she could see he was sincere about his words but that didn't resolve everything. She'd set a few things straight with him here and now.
She looked him over and attempted to stand, but vertigo overtook her and she was forced to take a seat once more. "Orestes, mate, I do appreciate that apology ye gave me, really, but let me get a few things clean with ye here an' now, before we go any further." Evelyn told him lifting a brow. "One, I'm right, yer wrong, that's settled, savvy? Two, if yer goin' to be sailin' with the crew of the Black Pearl ye better get some bloody sand in ye, we aren' feared throughout the Caribbean fer bein' a bunch of curtseying, given out tea, being polite kind o' crew. Three...don' ye EVER bow to me like that again, I mean it's nice to see ye grovel, but I'm not the bleedin' Quen of England, and four...I'm not a lady mate...I'm a pirate," Evelyn gave him a small wink. "No worries. Yer par' of my crew now, wether I like it or not, now I'll have to square with that soon, but that's none of yer concern, savvy?"
Evelyn gave him a meager grin at the end, reassuring him the last few comments were meant in jest and gave him a small nod. She still didn't like him, in order for Eve to like anyone, really, they'd have to gain her respect, and right now she saw no purposed to give him any. She placed a hand on her head again, rubbing it and stared around, finally noticing that Emma was nowhere to be seen.

Orestes listened to Evelyn with a bit of a grin on his face. He didn't like her attitude towards him, but he was smart enough to hide that; what he did like was her toughness. The god of thieves could appreciate anyone who refused to take things at face value.
He nodded as she made each point. For the second, he briefly wondered if a sleight of hand and a minute at daggerpoint would change her mind, but decided against it; his position with her was stretched thin enough as is. He could have also commented on her behaviour towards Eric as not exactly mirroring what she said, but he was smart enough not to.
Orestes nodded again when she finished. "We're square, then...good to hear." He brought his hand down, bringing a dagger into it, and flicked it into the air; it whirled around a few times before coming down, and Orestes turned; it fell back into his sheath. He drew it, saluted to Evelyn, and went to stand vigil at Rose's side.

Apollo watched Hermes go with a sort of half smile. Shaking his head, he stood near the Inn, waiting for more of the crew to show up. if only it were daylight. He could pursue the ship on his own.
Roux walked along, going as far as the end of the street, before coming back to the Inn. Callisto was still out there. And so was Kora, Linea's cousin. He frowned. He could go back for the others on teh ship still. but there'd be some explaining to do. No. It was best he let the ship go. Unless Linea asked for Kora.
Then he'd go. But Jack, it seemed needed his help more now. He continued his pacing, silently, waiting.

(I still have no freakin' clue what's going on,but I'll post anyways....)
They had been on the beach for a while now;Rick had lost track of time.As he watched the stars come out, completely at ease for the first time in a longer time than he cared to think about, a thought came to him.
While Emma had just consumed more alcohol than any human being probably ever ought to without experiencing massive liver failure and keeling over on the spot,he had not had anything to drink. This,he reasoned, wasn't entirely fair. There was a bar nearby, the Siren's Inn,and he wouldn't have to carry Emma too far...not thinking on the matter any more,he laid her aside for a moment, stood up,and picked her up again, heading for the light on the edge of town that was the inn.
It wasn't a long walk, and his arms had not even begun to tire from holding her as he walked in and sat down at a table, putting her in a chair beside him and letting her stay asleep, half draped across him as she slumbered peacefully. He ordered a drink and looked around, noticing with surprise that many of his crewmates were there. It wasn't really that popular of a hangout for the Pearl crew.He waved to Will."What's goin' on?There some kinda gatherin' here I didn' know about?"he asked in bewilderment.

*Eric grinned and shook his head as Evelyn quite loudly demanded to know what was going on. Then he watched with a cautious look and a raised brow as Orestes approached her, but as the man was seemingly trying to appologize Eric looked away, taking a glance at Will.* I dont like the feeling of this gathering, it can't be anything good. *He said with a frown, folding his arms across his chest.*
*Will glanced at Eric and nodded as his friend spoke. He didn't think anything suspicious of the crew but he had a bad feeling as to the reason they had all suddenly showed up in the same location. He was hoping that someone had a clue as to why they were all here. He stole a glance at Jack and he grunted. It was probably his doing, or maybe even one of the odder "guests" who had joined the Pearl. He nodded his head to Rick as the man came in with Emma and asked what was going on. Will adjusted his vest and messed with his pony tail a bit as he glanced around. Then he simply shrugged.* I couldn't tell you. *He stated.*
