*He pulled his hand away from her when she didn't seem to be believing him and he quickly stood back up. The frustration within him was mounting and he ran his hands over his face and through his hair. She wasn't getting it and he couldn't find a way to make her see what he was saying without ruining things. When she mentioned the word betrayl he knew exactly what she had meant and his heart sank and his eyes lowered.* Im still sorry about that, Evelyn. *He whispered as her eyes locked on his and he sat back down beside her.
He knew it was futile to keep appologizing for what he had said to her all those years ago. He knew she would never give him forgiveness for it, not did he expect her to. He just wished that she would at least stop thinking about it! As she continued to speak he laughed bitterly and shook his head. There were so many things that he wanted to tell her in this moment and yet he couldn't say a single one of them. Not yet. As she leaned into him, wrapping her arms about his waist loosely he sighed heavily, resting his cheek atop her head and holding her as well. However when she pulled away and spoke of him having guts his frustration began to manifest itself into physicalities and he began pacing around the room, his hand rubbing the back of his neck while the other one was thrust in his pocket.
He could do it, he could end this argument right now with one simple question but he couldn't. He wanted to, but it just wasn't right. Finally turning back to her he snatched up his pillow and a spare set of clothing.* You want proof of everything I feel for you Evelyn? Then fine, I'll start sleeping in your old cabin to respect the privacy you apparently want all of the sudden. *He said and started to walk away but paused in the doorway and glanced over his shoulder at her.* You'll get the proof you need, and hopefully then you'll look at me differently. *He said and stormed off to her old cabin.
He tossed his pillow and clothing inside and decided that he needed to talk to one man in particular who had faced the same thoughts that were going through his head now. He needed to find Rick.*

As Maria’s stance grew more defiant, Ian’s matched it-he straightened up taller and his stern expression grew. His eyes, however, still had a softer, worried reflection in them. He suddenly got lost gazing in her eyes as she spoke...it was as if she’d suddenly taken away his ability to think...and her voice was almost soothing to his stress...he gained his focus, however, a few seconds after he’d realized what she’d said.
“No, you aren’t.”
He said it almost thankfully, but as she finished speaking he stepped back. He broke his gaze and looked away, sighing in an almost frustrated, stressed way. “I know you are, but..but you aren’t. I mean...” It took him a second after mumbling to figure out what he’d say next. For some reason, this point was so needed to be made, that he wouldn’t give up about it. He wasn’t too stubborn, but this was an exception.
“But...but that was close, and the fight! In the fight against these bloody Spaniards, you got hurt. You have to be careful Maria.” He knew almost the entire crew got some kind of injury from the battle, and ones worse than Maria’s, but it was the first thing that came to mind. He wasn’t too well at arguing really, especially about something he believed, but couldn’t quite defend well..which was most of what his arguments were...
“And even if you have before,” he continued on, slightly trying to argue his point now, “it doesn’t mean things’ll be a walk on the beach from now on. Things can get harder. Mistakes can be made. Just...how can I make you understand?” He averted her gaze, knowing he’d excluded the fact that she was an excellent pirate and fighter, and the Pearl needed her indeed. Putting his arms behind his back and scuffing his foot on the deck, he slowly looked up to meet her gaze.

(*stares oddly* no one posted after I got off last night? wow... I just feel I have to post... so im going too... however boring it may be.)
Saber blew her hair out of her face and grunted. Setting the crate down in the hold of the ship, she looked around at her acomplishments. It wasn't much. There were only a few crates, and one or two barrels sitting below decks. Heaving a heavy sigh, Saber began to make her way up the stairs. Reaching the top, she goraned as she saw the pile still up there. "Oh sure, when I'm hurt they all flock to me and ask me how I am... But when theres work, no one seems to care. Well I'll tell ya how I am ... Bloody tired! Thats How!"
Saber continued to mutter under her breath as she began to roll another barrel. When she got to the stairs she quickly got around ot the other side of it, and eased it down the steps. Reaching the bottom she rolled it towards the others, and set it upright. "god... my back can't take much more of this!" she said, rubbing her lower back with her hands. "We have three bloody men in this crew. Three! Thats a record I think! And where are they? Off doing nothing probably."
Saber collapsed on top of the crates, and sat there, shoulders hunched. resting her elbows on her knees, she put her head in her hands. Massaging her forehead, she rediscovered her bruises. With a yelp, she cursed men in general... and given her life, she had pleanty of right to.
Kat was still searching for the rest of the crew. comming around a corner, she happened upon Ian and Maria. They were standing quite close to each other and Kat saw the look in their eyes. "Oh god..." She muttered to herself "Not another pair..." Clearing her throat, Kat annouced herself. "Ship is loaded you two, and Tobbs is trying to get everyone back on board the Pearl." Then without another word, she turned on her heel and headed for the Ship. Kat still didn't trust Ian... but she hardly trusted her own sister.
Reaching the rail, Kat grabbed ahold of a convinent rope, and swung herself across. Reaching the deck, she landed with her cat-like dexterity. Glancing at the huge stack of rum crates and barrels, she firmly jammed her hat on her head. This would not do, the rum was baking in the Caribbean sun! And who really, with all their heart likes a cold one that is not cold? (ooc...I have been watching strong bad email again ;D )
Making her way over to the stack, she picked up a crate, and began to lug it down the stairs. Kat could almost smell the rum and she carried it close to her face. All of a sudden she looked down. An open crate! A real live open crate! Hurridly she put down the one she was carrying, droped it more likely, and bent over the open one. Several bottles had been taken, but Kat guessed from what Saber had said that this was Evelyn's doing. Snatching up a bottle or two Kat quickly grabbed her crate again, and went below deck. First to deposit the rum... then to have a drink.
(man... thats bloody long post! And it was filled with compleate nothingness...!)

ooc: Yay for the posts of nothingness!
*Eric wandered all ove the gally and the cabins, he even checked into Emma and Ricks room only to find it empty. Furrowing his brow he figured that those two must still be on the bloody Margarita! They were shipping off soon, he hoped they knew that! Shaking his head he trotted up on deck to see if he could fetch them when he saw Saber and Kat lugging the rum crates and barrels down to the galley. He grinned slightly, having forgotten all about them. (As unbelievable as that seemed.)
With a heavy sigh he trotted over to the ever dwindling stack and flashed Saber his most innocent smile.* Oops, I forgot. *He laughed, gathering up the few bottles of rum that Evelyn had dropped during their argument and set them down inside one of the crates. He hoisted it up and lugged it down to the galley, his eyes still searching for Rick all the while. He really wanted to talk to the man about something, figuring that he was really the only one who could give him the answers he needed.
Still not seeing him he shrugged and continued helping Saber and Kat bring the rum down below decks. Perhaps he might even have some just to make it all feel worth it to him!*
ooc: Eric pats Saberkat as he's helping now ;D

When Ian removed his fingers from under her chin, it dropped slightly. Odd, as it made her realize how much she had rested her chin upon his touch. Her dark gaze folowed him as he took a step back and looked away, letting out a long frustrated sigh. The young lass, too, took a step back and gently leaned against the side of the ship. Her dark gaze flickered over her shoulder over the side of the ship and she pressed her lips in a hard line, wondering if he would tell her not to lean against the side either, for fear of falling.
As he began to argue his point she averted her gaze back forward. She'd listened as he struggled to make his point clear, and tried to make sense of his broken sentences. Maria pursed her lips and frowned. When speaking of the fight they just had Maria cleared her throat and brought her hand closer to her body. It wasn't even a serious injury and yet he fretted about it. Others upon the Pearl had gained more serious injuries but she had yet to see him inform them.
"I never said it would be easy..." She mumured. Meeting his gaze, she pushed herself off the side and walked over to him. "Listen Ian," Maria started, gazing up at him. "I understand what you're tryin' to explain.... Don't you think I would know that by now? Of course life will get harder. And yes, mistakes will be made. But this?" She lifted her bandaged hand. " Is just a cut, nothing else..." Maria sighed and titled her head to the side, her eyes still locked on his. "It's life Ian," she murmured softly... And what she said was true. It was life. All would face obstacles and gain injuries in the future. It wasn't a question of if, but when. She couldn't avoid harm forever and it confused her again on why he cared so much.
Maria remained silent and continued to hold his gaze when she suddenly heard Kat's voice behind her. The young lass snapped her head around and nodded at her words before turning back to Ian.
"So...." A sigh "Shall we?"

Evelyn remained in her cabin for some time, staring at the door from which he left. He had stormed off saying the wrong things to her, she didn't necessarily want to be left alone, but at the moment she felt better for it. She curled up on her bed and blinked several times, not able to close them permanently like she was meaning to. "Well good...idiot..." Evelyn muttered at the door, as if it were Eric incarnate standing there.
She shook her head once more, then stood, and left the room. She had initially set out to get herself a rum or two, and that is what she was going to do.
Snatching up her empty flask, she decided defying his wish for her to stay in his room was the first step to adopting a routine without him in her face all the time now. It was kinda refreshing really, but not exactly the best feeling. Pulling open the door she made down the hall, to the steps, and onto the deck. Her eyes scanned the area, a few crates remained on the deck. With a smile at Saber and Kat she said, "Finally able to do what the hell I want..." she joked, though a hint of seriousness lingered within her words.
She noticed he was on deck too, but she paid him no attention. She shut her eyes for a moment as she lifted the crate in her arms and began lugging it below deck, prepared to start a small drinking part of her own once all the crates were in their place. The winds were picking up. Her curls were toussled in the breeze and she stared up as a few dark clouds lingered to the south.
Her eyes shifted around the crew and noticed that Emma and Rick weren't around. In fact she had not seen them for some time and grew concerned about them. The last time she saw them was when they were seemingly questioning some Captain...but that was about an hour or so ago...

Ian ran his hand through his hair and sighed again. He could tell she was getting a little frustrated herself. Listening with a slight frown on his face, he returned his gaze on her.
“I know you know...or I hope you know, because...well...”
Because why? Did he know the reason he was stressing out so much? No. Did he know why he had to protect her? No.
“Because you’re different than the rest of the crew. Don’t ask me why. You’re just...different Maria. I guess I just want you to be careful.” He shrugged in a sort of compromising way. Ian knew it wasn’t a valid reason, and a stupid one to mention, but it was his only explanation at the time. Not that he was giving up..but he didn’t want to get her upset over this, nor did he want to get left behind on the Margarita. So using that excuse, he nodded and tried to clear his mind.
“Aye, let’s. Don’t want to be left here when they decide to get rid of the ship.” He was silent after that, walking next to her. He could feel a slight slither of pain across his back, but his shoulder had been put aside in his mind now. He didn’t really know what to say to her as they walked.
“Wait,”
He said softly, reaching out with his hand and placing it on her arm to stop her. He sort of spun her sideways slowly so he could face her. Looking at her without a blink, he just stood there a second...trying to tell her what he could not with words...that he didn’t mean to get her frustrated, and he didn’t know why he made her safety such a big deal..he knew she’d be careful, but it wasn’t her he didn’t trust, it was the world. That’s what he wanted to say, to prove. But how?
Finally, he looked away towards the ground and looked back up with a little smile on his face. “Oy then, let’s get a move on. We don’t want to leave the crew alone with rum now, do we? KAT, that means you!”

*As Eric trotted back up the stairs stretching his back and glancing over at the Margarita he saw Ian and Maria making their way back over onto the Pearl. Good, soon they could be on their way again. He'd be glad when the last of this bloody rum was below decks. He was starting to get sick of toting it already. As he snatched up another crate he heard a familiar voice behind him and his eyes narrowed.
Glancing slightly over his shoulder he saw Evelyn on the deck. His jaw clenched but he chose to say nothing and ignore her. If she wanted to make her wound worse it was fine by him, it wasn't as if he didn't warn her. Shaking his head he carried the crate past her without so much as looking at her and headed with it down below the decks again, unloading it in the galley.
He knew exactly what she was doing and if it was that damn important to her he would just stay out of her buisness. For some reason she didn't think he should be apart of it and although that bothered him greatly he didn't want to argue anymore. Sliding his hand into his pocket as he climbed the stairs again he shook his head in frustration and seeing that the rum was pretty well all below deck he went to the railing, his blonde lockes blowing in the wind as his dark eyes fell upon the clouds in the distance.*

"Different." she repeated her tone firm. Maria pressed her lips in a hard line and looked at him for a long moment. Different? What could that possibly mean? she found herself no different than the rest of the crew. She had no special ability or was higher in rank than any of them either. He hadn't the knowledge of her past, so it couldn't be that. "Different," she repeated again in a much softer tone as she continued to contemplate what he meant.
Maria nodded and turned to walk off the ship. She knew their conversation had not finished and she knew, somehow it would continue later on. Ian never really seemed to wrap it up clearly. It was an awkward silence for a brief moment and she spoke not a word, allowing the hollow creak their footsteps fill the emptiness. And as she was about to take another step he stopped her, placing his arm on her own. Her tongue prodded against her teeth and she spun on her heel as he slowly turned her.She took a deep breath as her eyes locked on his again. Maria cocked a brow, awaiting him to say something else, anything else. And again he remained silent. He had stopped her for a reason hadn't he?
As he turned the young lass dropped her chin, "Ian...." Her voice seemed tired, although she, herself, wasn't. She just needed to hear a complete sentence from him...
"Ian pl-" she managed to say before he finally spoke. A complete sentence none the less! Maria lifted her gaze to Ian and her shoulders fell. Her gaze flickered briefly over to Kat and she gave her a nod before turning back to Ian.
"Though I don't particularly favour the drink... I have t'admit. Its dangerous to leave that crew alone with all that drink." A small smile touched her lips and she brushed past Ian, taking hold of a rope, and swinging back over to the Pearl herself.

(gah!!! Ok guys Ive had it. I'm gonna post, and then after mom get off the other compy I'll try to get on again.)
Saber stood up and started to walk up the stairs again. She met Kat on the way, and was very happy to see someone else working. Reaching the deck she blinked against the sudden brightness. She rubbed her eyes and pushed her hair out of her face, as the wind picked it up an caused it to dance. She looked about and saw Eric picking up a crate. Saber looked up to heaven "Thank you!" She said rather loudly to the skies. She glared as he flashed her an innocent smile. "Aye, I bet you forgot." Taking hold of a barrel she set it on its side. Now with three people working the job would go alot faster.
Kat set down her crate, and got a better grip on her bottles of rum. Walking quickly she lept up the stairs and almost ran into Evelyn. "I can't believe the amount of rum they had! Its amazing. I dont know about you, but I'm looking forward to a few drinking contests." She said with a smirk. Kat was extreamly good at holding her rum, and was always ready to prove it. Passing Evelyn she set her own bottles down, and grabbed another crate. "I'm glad theres more people working now. The quicker we get these below, the quicker we get the rum." Suddenly she heard a call from the Margarita...Turning she looked over at the other ship. "Watch who your talking to boy!" She spat and turned again to her work.
Saber shook her head. Her nagging and complaining must have worked, because now Evelyn was picking up crates too. Although Saber wasn't sure if Evelyn was taking the rum for her own use, or putting it away, every little bit helped.

“Aye...that’s for sure!” He said just before she swung over. He sighed as he watched her, not wanting to think at all really. What was she doing to him? He wasn’t turning soft...was he? Oh he’d get hell from that in Tortuga! Nooooo, no he wasn’t soft...although him saying it to himself wasnt convincing him much at all...
All of the sudden he heard a rather irritated voice...directed at him. Looking across towards the Pearl where Maria was, he saw Kat. There had always been something between the two of them..and while he’d tried to get along with her in the beginning, his patience was running out. His frustration already increased from the previous talk, Ian decided to play it back this time around. He swung over and landed near Maria.
“Aye Kat, you’re right, I guess I should’ve been watching. I mean, it’s not like yer surrounded by rum or claiming half of it as your own or anything...watching you more closely would’ve definitely made a difference.”
He had glanced quickly at Maria while he spoke, but besides that, he stared directly at Kat, a sort of smirk on his face.

(Bwahaha! I ish back! *pokes Evy and Eric* You two need ta stop yer bickerin' and make with the happy! Yer a bunch o' pirates with a ship full o' rum, fer cryin' out loud!!)
~Seurill~
::Captain Seurill glanced around the room at the others, having managed to push the painting against the wall aside with his knee. There, in a small alcove built into the wood, several rolled up maps were crammed together, obviously having been stored away in haste. One or two had been ripped in the process, and all were severely crumpled, but their contents were still readable. Seurill nodded to the maps, finding it a bit difficult to pick them up himself with his hands tied, and hoped that one of his captors would have enough sense to take them::
::Then he heard a call outside, and watched as several of the enemy pirates made their way across to their own ship. The Black Pearl.... If there was any consolation in having been taken prisoner by these brutes, it would be that he'd get to see the inside of the legendary ship first hand::
::Just as these thoughts ran through his mind, he felt the floor beneath him give a terrible lurch, and his face went pale. The sounds of splintering wood filled the air as the ship gave another shudder, and another, as if taking her last deep breaths before a dive. Seurril's knees went weak, and a sudden panic filled him::
::The Margarita was sinking::
(*cackle* Just trying to livin things up a bit....)

Kat's whole body went stiff. She set down the crate she was carrying and turned around to face Ian. Her green eyes flashed murder and her red hair blew about her face. She twisted her neck slightly and it gave a startling pop. Walking up to him she looked him right in the eye. "You really dont know how to pick a fight... do you boy?" She said with a sinister half smile. Taking a step backwards Kat's hands crossed in front of her and went to her hips. Two knives materialized in her grip and she uncrossed her arms. "I promise not ta kill ya seein' 'ow yore new and all. But every dog needs to learn his lesson sometime." Adopting a fighting stance she expertly spun the two knives in her hands. Then gripping them she sneered at Ian. "Show me wot you got lad, come on... if yer not afraid."
Saber walked up the stairs and saw the situation. She darted forward and stood in between the cat and her prey. "Kat stop it! We don't need any more fighting on this ship!" She lunged at her sister to try and disarm her.
Kat snarled at Saber as she got in the way. As she lunged forward, Kat dodged and with a twist slashed at Saber's back, slicing her shirt right across the shoulder blades. "Stay out of this if you want to live, girl." She barked at Saber.
Saber gasped as the knife came across her back. The blade never once touched her skin. She fell to the deck none the less and sat there looking up at her demon sister. With pleading eyes she looked up at Ian "Mate I dont know what you did, but my suggestion would be to apoligize as soon as possible."

As Maria's feet hit the deck, she smiled in satisfaction. Even though she had swung from ship to ship many, many times, she was still always relieved whenever she made it to the other side. She licked her lips, placing her hands on her hips and turned slightly, watching Ian swing over as well and landing next to her. The corner of her lips twitched into a grin and she tipped her head towards him slightly. She had not forgotten their conversation, but she had relieved the frustration she held moments earlier. She couldn't let it bother her, not now, and especially not in front of the rest of the crew. Of course this proved wrong upon hearing Ian's next words.... To who else but Kat.
Maria rolled her eyes and blew air out through her pursed lips. "Ian don't," she murmured, raising a brow and crossing her arms defiantly. She shook her head as a grim smile touched her lips. What was the new lad doing? No one on the crew would dare cross Kat and here was Ian, fresh on the crew, who was doing that exactly. *You're playin' with fire, boy* she thought to herself. Her gaze quickly averted when Saber intervened. Maria bit her bottom lip and took a step back. She wanted to get out of Kat's line of fire, if something were to occur. And then she heard it, a loud creak and her head snapped over to the Margarita. Her brows sitched together and she made her way over to the side. Leaning over she gazed at the ship as it was slowly sinking.

Ian watched Kat dangling her knives in front of him. He looked unconvinced. He knew she was an excellent pirate and killer at that, but she was going too far with her little show of authority. He’d respected her enough, but she had put him down. Ian had one captain, and she was certainly not it.
Just as he was about to speak, he heard Saber interrupt her sister for his behalf. It happened fast. Saber was on the ground now, her short sliced by the weapons Kat had. In that single moment, the smirk drained from Ian’s face and was replaced with a look of pure anger.
“WHAT THE HELL do ye think yer DOING? You could’ve hurt yer own damn sister, just so you could show off! Bloody hell! What, is it a hooby you have, try an’ hurt everyone you can, includin’ yer own blood, yer OWN blood?” His tone was iced with disgust.”Bloody hell!” He murmered again as he went over towards Saber and knelt down close to her. “Yer alright, Saber? Yer not hurt?”
And all of a sudden a loud shudder went through the sky...coming from the Margarita. Glancing away from Saber, his eyes locked on the enemy ship...she was sinking... “Not now...” Standing slowly, he spoke low and quiet. “Tobbs and Emma an’ Rick are still aboard, aren’t they...” As he finished his sentence he began stepping faster towards the side of the ship. “AHOY! THE SHIP! EMMA! TOBBS! RICK! SHE’S SINKING!” He knew they knew, but he was already ready to throw them a rope or swing over and help them off..Kat would have to wait..
