After a long day of marching and chopping through the dense jungle the sun began to set. Mark looked around to find a good camping spot. He figured he would camp away from everyone else, since no one seemed to care much about him anyway. He found a good spot near a small pool of water. There was a family of small fish living in it. He smiled at them and tossed in a piece of hard-tack he had made before leaving the ship. The stuff wasn't really pouring over with flavor but it did fill you up, and it lasted a long time. He looked up at the sky. The stars were begginning to come out. His thoughts turned to Rose again, he couldn't help it really. It seemed so long since he had talked to her, honestly he knew that if he did talk to her again he wouldn't know what to say, this was certainly a rarity for him. There was just something about her face, her eyes, that just captured him everytime. He laughed to himself. He pulled out his sword once more. It cleamed in the moon light. It was his father's sword. Made by the sweat and blood of his dad. He took it everywhere, along with the set of pistols he had made. He rolled his shirt into a ball and layed his head down on it. It was fairly peaceful, the bugs and animals were strangely quiet tonight, that gave him an uneasy feeling. He closed his eyes and began to dream. He was in a forest, a tropical forest. There was a water fall behind him....he was with someone.....Rose? They were talking and laughing. But suddenly the dream turned dark and haunting. He burst awake. He must not have been asleep long... for there were some stragler stars still coming out. He looked around and wiped the sweat from his brow.
"I have got to get some rest. I am drivin meself mad."
Mark drifted off again, into another unsettling dream. The one he had often of his father and brother. He tried with all his might to dream up something else, but never could manage it. For him the nights were too long.....long and tormenting.

*Eric loosened his grip about Evelyn and tilted his chin as she adjusted her self against him. When she fell still he wrapped his arms about her once more, holding her as close to him as he could. Her warmth against him and her presence comforted him and he smiled. He gazed at her for what seemed like an age, as if he were memorizing this moment and Evelyn by heart.
He sighed heavily and squeezed his eyes shut and just barely shook his head. She was apart of him now whether he stayed or went. She always would be and always had been. But now things were far different, far more personal. He feared what would happen to her if he left again. He knew he would never be able to put it behind him. It would haunt him forever if he left.
However as he held her all the world dissapeared and his mind was filled with nothing more than her. Within a few moments he drifted off into a deep sleep. Though it was soon interupted by an all too familiar dream. Happy at first, Ashley alive and well with him and smiling. But where it would normal turn dark this time it remained simple and bright. And another thing had changed. Ashley had become Evelyn. His eyes flew open quickly and he drew in a deep breath, his gaze darting about until it finally rested on the woman in his arms.
He blinked a couple times, realizing now that the woman he had once thought he was supposed to end up with truely wasn't. Now he felt it had actually been Evelyn all along. Not only did he realize this but it also hit him that his heart no longer ached for Ashley. She would of course always be in his past but he smiled a little, realizing that even though she wasn't the one who would have his future it no longer bothered him. Because now he had Evelyn. She was his second chance at happiness. With that final thought his eyes drooped and he slipped into a peaceful sleep.*

*Will eyed Maria curiously for a long moment as she questioned where he had been going. He knew there was more than what she was telling him. She couldn't simply be fine or she wouldn't have reacted the way she had when she had awoken and saw him there. He knew it was something about him that had startled her.* Yes I was. Its getting late and I figured they'd have made camp by now, maybe I could catch up. *He said and then felt some sort of protective instict take over him and he smiled.
Glancing at Elizabeth he grabbed her hand and looked back to the young lass on the bed.* But I wasnt going to leave you alone. Elizabeth will watch over you if you aren't well enough to venture onto the island too. *He stated, finding it unfortuante that the lass was going to miss out on a fine adventure. It was after all a city of gold. It wasn't too often you came across one of those.
He rose once more, wrapping his arms about himself as he glanced back over his shoulder once more towards the door.* If you think you're well enough we can go to the island and find the others in the morning. *He stated, urging his wife to rise as well. He kissed her on the cheek and smiled lovingly at her. Her beauty still captivated him and it always would. Although as of late she was absolutley glowing.* Why dont you ready for bed, Elizabeth. I'll follow in a moment. *He smiled. Elizabeth returned his smile and kissed him softly before parting from him only slightly.* I shall see you soon then, Will. Goodnight, Maria. Hopefully a good nights sleep will have you feeling better in the morning.[/color] *She said, touching the girls cheek slightly before flitting off.
Will watched her go with tender eyes and then turned back to the young girl.* If you ever need to talk, Maria, you know I'll listen. *He stated with a nod and followed after Elizabeth.*

Evelyn's mind churned in her sleep, seemingly refusing to let her sleep. Deep in the darkness came flashes of her past and Evelyn twitched a bit. It had never been easy for her to sleep. A familiar, harsh, voice sounded in her mind and she muttered a bit. Dark rooms passed in her mind and evil sights. It was all too much for her yet AGAIN and so her eyes sprang open. Her honeyed eyes glanced around and she saw Eric and smirked a bit. "Well at least ONE of us is sleepin' well." Evelyn then made to part from Eric, but his grasp about her was rather tight.
She bit her lip a bit and sighed heavily. She would love to remain there, but she would need to have a bit of time to think alone. Evelyn looked him over for a few moments longer, savoring this all, and began to pull away gently, not wanting to rouse him from his pleasant slumber. She almost envied the small smirk upon his face as he slept.
Pulling his hands away from her gently, she kissed him briefly upon his lips and then pulled away, making towards the dying embers of their once roaring fire. She sat next to it and placed her head in her hands, her fingers tangling in her hair. She felt a headache coming on strongly and she sighed.
Even in such a peaceful setting, she was able to be plagued. Eve's honeyed eyes looked over her shoulder at Eric and smirked but turned around again. It wasn't fair that she found the only pure love and that it could possibly be taken away, even though Eric assured her it wouldn't. And it wasn't fair she had these reoccuring dreams, night after night, that wouldn't let her rest. She shook her head, trying to shake them out of her mind.
Her eyes looked up at the trees, eyeing the soft shafts of moonlight that seeped in and she placed her head in her hands again. Memory's leaked in again, dark figures, pain, and then...blackness...

*Eric shifted some in his sleep and as he made to roll over he quickly realized that he was alone. His brown eyes opened carefully, barely more than slits as he glanced around for Evelyn. A curious look came over his face as he wondered why she had left in the first place. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach that she had decided to listen to logic and changed her mind about allowing herself to be close to him.
Finally he found her, sitting by the fire which was nearly dead. He frowned a little as he saw her with her face in her hands and he knew something was bothering her greatly. He knew she was ever plagued by nightmares and it bothered him a great deal that he didn't know how he could help...or that he didn't know what her nightmares were.
Eric wasn't sure exactly if he should approach her as he was still wondering if he was part of the reason she got up in the first place. Finally he decided to ignore the warnings in his mind and he rose, quietly going over to her.* Evelyn, are you alright? *He asked, knealing down beside her. However his face suddenly turned to one of shock and he laid her out, resting her upper body in his arms. She had passed out and he was carefully shaking her.* Evelyn! Evy, wake up. *He commanded.*

Selina looked to Michael as he looked her over with an intimacy in her eyes and she bit her lip slightly. He leaned in close to her and she felt his strong arm about her. He leaned in and his words tickled her senses. Selina's eyes closed and as he brought her down and kissed her passionately Selina kissed him back. Her hands clung to his neck and caressed him there.
As he pulled her down she closed her eyes and sighed deeply, a shiver running through her. She wanted this, truly, she did, but for a moment Damien's face flashed before her eyes. Selina blinked it away and shook her head. His fingers toyed with the buttons of her shirt and she kissed Micahel passionately, "Michael...take your time....we have all night." She told him with a sly grin as she pulled away slightly then proceeded once more.
She took in every bit of him, feeling pure lust, but also finding herself taking it slower this time around. The only way she knew was to show care for another on a deep level was to do this, to pass the night away melting in the other and she pondered this briefly but then shrugged. Instead she gave into the passion and the darkness of the night.
Her hands ran over his broad shoulders smoothly and she simply allowed him to take her, every bit. It was the only way she knew to love another really...love? Was that what this was? So quickly...?

Evelyn fell into a darkness and only evil images came up into her mind. Screams were heard and she twitched, chains rattled, whips were cracked, and a distinct smell came to her nostrils. Evelyn cringed in the blackness and found herself next to a strange man. Her head was throbbing and she made to stand but couldn't. She stumbled in the dark cabin and gathered up her clothes with tears tumbling down. Heading to the door it wouldn't budge and she grew desperate and cried out for help, then sank to the floor.
Looking back at the bed where she had been laying she cried silently and the bed faded then. Instead, now she only saw a towering figure, a looming Captain with an evil cackle. The smell of whiskey upon him and she cringed. Evelyn cowered in the shadows and then with a start finally woke.
Eve's eyes shot open and she found herself cradled in Eric's arms. Her eyes stared around wildly, confused, and afraid. "Eric...Eric mate..." She said breathing heavily and backing away from him a bit. In her mind, the Captain's presence was still felt. She backed away from Eric, remaining seated upon the jungle floor. "Erm...what are ye doin' up?" She asked him lifting a curved brow and running a hand through her chocolate curls.
" 'm fine if tha's what yer worried about..." she lied and gulped a bit, looking about the jungle a bit and then resting her eyes on Eric. She didn't want this, to break down in front of him like that. It had happened once before, but never in the presence of anyone and she looked around hoping no one else saw. She looked to Eric, her eyes almost pleading him to comfort her again, even though she was too afraid to crawl to him to seek it.
"Ye should be asleep...we have a long day tomorrow." Eve told him with a small forced smirk. If anything, she didn't want anyone else suffering over this. It was bad enough she had to live with it, she'd be damned if she allowed this to bother Eric as well.

*Erics brow furrowed as Evelyn twitched in his arms and he knew wicked things were haunting her now. He lowered his eyes a little and shook his head, before looking at her again. When she woke at first he smiled with relief and was about to pull her close to him when suddenly she tore away and backed up, curling into herself. His head tilted.
At her question he inched a little closer to her.* I woke up and noticed you weren't there. *He answered slowly, eyeing her curiously. A warm smile formed across his lips and he went over to her, scooping her up and carrying her back to the shelter where he laid her down.* Evelyn you don't have to hide from me you know. *He said, running his fingers along her jaw and through her curls. He didn't want her keeping things from him, no matter how ashamed she was of her secrets.
He knew a little about her past, but not enough to understand much of what she was going through.* It'll keep eating you up if you hold it inside. *He added in a soft whisper, looking her over. He wanted desperatly to help her with whatever she was going through, help her to somehow put it behind her. But without knowing that she was facing he felt helpless.*

Evelyn looked to Eric nervously as he came close and then scooped her up. Eve sighed heavily and looked up at him as he spoke, his fingers brushing her jawline. "'M not tryin' ta hide from you mate...I'm tryin' ta protect ye." She said with heavy sigh and touching his chin gently with her thumb and forefinger. "Ye don' need ta know these things...I jus'...I have a hard time putting them past me is all." She stated as her honey eyes met him and she smirked, but his last words struck a chord.
Eric was right, they probably would. His voice was soothing however, it was a deep, velvety tone. It was always something that calmed her. Looking up to his eyes and nodded. "Yer right...I can' explain it all now though, what with the crew aroun' an' all...savvy?" Evelyn began as she inched closer to Eric then embraced him tightly, knowing she would need him close for this. "My nightmares...well...they're of the Devil's Wrath, all I can say now is tha' I was used, I dunno how many times 'xactly, I think I blacked most o' the thoughts out really." Then she parted slightly, her hand still on his neck and her fingers caressed the back of his neck.
"An'...an' then there's this. I was whipped after Luis left...helpin' HIM gave me ten lashes ta be exact...that and a week of starving in the cells below decks." Evelyn sighed with her head hanging. "Those images plague me still. I never screamed like I did there." She bit her lip, holding back any outbursts. "I never showed ye this...but here...ye can see it for yerself." Evelyn then turned her back to him and lifted her shirt gently, displaying the lash marks still upon her back. Permanent welts stretched across her flesh. "I've never showed ANYONE that before..." Eve stated closing her eyes and wondering what Eric thought of it all.

*Eric nodded softly and sighed a little when she mentioned trying to protect him. But he didn't say anything in response, he only gazed at her with intent and gentle eyes. Their eyes met and this made him smile ever so slightly. There was something about her honey eyes that he always got lost in. He found security in her eyes. As she embraced him he held her in return and gave a soft nod.* I understand. There's no rush. *He said, knowing this would be hard for her.
As she began to tell him what happened to her he closed his eyes and his heart went out to her. It angered him to know that she had been treated in such a way. He held her tighter but she parted from him slowly. He shifted and proped himself up on one elbow as she revealed to him her scars. He had seen them before, when she had been changing in his room in Port Royal.
He swallowed hard and shook his head.* Oh, Evelyn I'm so sorry. *He stated, turning her again so that she faced him. He stared at her for what seemed like an age and his eyes were moist. Now it really hit him how much it must have hurt her to hear him say what he had said nearly a year ago.* I'm so sorry. *He repeated in a soft but sincere whisper and he reached out quickly, holding her tightly.* I'll never let you hurt like that again. *He said, softly kissing her cheek as he continued to hold her.*

Evelyn looked Eric over as he turned her to face him and saw hurt in his eyes and she smirked slightly. "Eric mate...'m alright, really. I jus' can' get rid o' the nightmares really is all." She shrugged as he embraced her tightly. When he spoke again she sighed heavily, knowing that he couldn't prevent ANYTHING from hurting her again, but she knew he'd try and that's what counted. " 'M alright, and thanks Eric. I never showed that to anyone." She whispered calmly as she buried her face in the crook of his neck, taking in the gentle smell of his hair.
As she parted agian she looked out to see the rest of the crew asleep and off doing various things. The jungles still hummed and she smirked slightly. "Never really though' I'd go an' tell ye all o' this here." She with a soft chuckle, the humidity causing her curls to stick to her skin a bit. "Bu' I'm glad I did anyway. It helps...YOU help." She told him softly. It was surprising really how Eve could be. At times she could be so fiery and vibrant, and yet she could also find a way to be gentle. Although that was only shown to Eric really.
"Gah, but forget my bloody babblin'..." Evelyn told him with a slight smirk. "WE need ta get some bloody sleep if we're goin' ta be out in THAT again." Evelyn said as she placed her small sash bundle under her head again and lay next to him, her head propped on her hand. "I'll need my strength if I'm ta fight off anymore snakes tamrraw..." Evelyn winked then and leaned in to kiss him softly before laying down to rest.
Eve found that letting a few things out had helped greatly and she felt a bit of weight lifted from her shoulders. Eve had never discussed this with anyone before. It was always too painful, but just the sound of his voice had calmed her enough to bring it out of her. She was grateful for it...and Eric too of course.

*Eric nodded knowingly about the nightmares. He used to have ones of his own.* I know, but someday they'll go away. At least most of them. *He said reassuringly. He tipped his head into hers a little as she rested it against his neck. He laughed a little as they parted.* The humidity must be getting to us. *He said as he yawned and stretched a little. He smiled at her.* Im glad. I'll always be here to help when I can. *He said, putting a great deal of emphasis on the word always.
He was really starting to believe himself when he would tell her he was going to stay. And whether she knew it or not she helped him a great deal too. She was the one who taught him that he could feel things again, that he could laugh without feeling guilty or look upon her lovingly without feeling like a traitor.
At her mention of sleep his lids nearly dropped right there and he slowly glanced towards the moon. Much of the night had already passed and it wouldnt be long now before they'd have to get up again. He grinned and nodded, laying down and watching as she took her place beside him.* You mean I'LL need MY strength when you need ME to fight off more snakes tomorrow. *He said, winking and yawning again.
He rested his head gently against hers and after another moment of listening to Evelyns gentle breathing he drifted off once more.*

::Jack had long since fallen asleep. He'd called vaguly for a second watch and heard two voices answer him back. Jason and Kalin.::
::He closed his eyes and settled back, hand still on his sword, ready. Tobbs had gone to sleep...he thought...a while ago....and he was content to lie back and wait for morning...::
::And quite suddenly he was moving, being pulled. Jack yelped and flailed one arm out his fist making contact with a face. His would be kidnappers growled and someone kicked his chest. Jack gasped from the impact and crumbled over.::
::where was Tobbs?! Where was the crew. He looked around, saw in the distance the faint glow of the camp fires......He had been near the outside of the camp with Tobbs...no doubt he was a easy target.....but what of Tobbs? He shouted for her, didn't hear a answer...didn't see her with them::
"Hey now..what the hell do ye think yer doin?" Jack asked and squirmed. Too many pairs of hands had him held down, but he fought back, twisting, kicking....but there were simply too many::
::A few of them were carring small torches. Jack saw their faces in the light. Lots of beads....lots of bone decorations....feathers....not much clothing...spears and knifes....wonderful.......simply wonderful.....::
::Jack's brain, groggy from sleep figured it could get him out of this mess by talking:: "If ye let me go I'll get you a realy big hat....big feathers...realy nice thing.....not my hat of course...because I happen to like this one....but...well....TOBBS! JASON! KALIN! WILL!" ::A spear was planted at the base of his throat. Jack stopped moving...stopped his yelling::
"Right okay...or no hat...." He muttered and they yanked him upwards and pulled him along. Jack figured he might as well go with it....after all....maybe these "friendly" natives knew where El Dorado was...::
::They were moving through the forest now, Jack couldn't guess where...but he had no sword...and no way of knowing if anyone heard him...::

But someone had heard him, the only one appearantly. Fishy had been sitting in silence for some time now, so that the shouts of Jack rang out in the darkness. He leapt to his feet, shouting back into the trees.
"Cap'n? Tha' you?!" He called, stooping to pick up both his sword and Paul before sprinting off into the trees in the direction he thought his captians voice had come from.

Jason smiled at Fishy:
"Yes, we're newer. Just ran into the Captain one night....And as you might have guessed..." He gestured to his twin Kalin, "We're brothers."
He looked over at Jack when he called for a second watch, and called out in answer: "We'll be awake Captain!" He said, and looked over at Kalin when he answered as well.
Jason smiled at Fishy. "Get some sleep if you want, We'll be walking tomorrow, I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to talk when the sun rises."
Then Fishy was on his feet. Jason blinked, having been paying attention to Kalin who had long sense fallen asleep. Jason had gone into a vaguely spaced out stat, listening to the buzz of insects and chatter of the nocturnal animals...he jumped up when Fishy called out to the Captain and took off into the forest.
Jason kicked Kalin's leg lightly: "Come on..something's wrong."
He waited but a moment to grab his sword, and took off running, making he was certain, enough noise to alert the camp that something was amiss.#nosmileys
