*Will took one last look at Evelyn before he hurried from the cabin. He went out on the deck and took a deep breath, glancing out at the sea as he made his way back to the front of the ship. He noticed Tobbs waving him over and he gave her a nod with his head, trotting over to her. He laughed a little at her comment as he thrust his hands in his pockets and he shrugged.* We just might. *He grunted, sitting down. Then he glanced back over at her and he frowned a little bit. Before he had left with Evelyn she was confiding in him.* It seems like we all have a haunted past of some sort. And it always rears its head at the worst times. *He stated, going back to their conversation. He wondered what kind of past this woman concealed and what exactly she meant when she said she had forgiven. Who did she mean?* You're a good lady, Tobbs. Even if you do have a tendency to steal my things. *He said with a wink, nudging her slightly.* So don't let your past hold you back. *He added, thinking about his own past. It wasn't exactly all that dark, only difficult. He lost both his parents at a young age and when he got to Port Royal he was relativly on his own. Mr. Brown wasn't exactly a father figure by any means but he had given Will a place to work so he could afford to eat and board. He laughed a little, remembering the day he found out his dad was a pirate, known by Jack no less, and how he had tried to deny it. It must amuse people to look at him and see a guy trying his damnest to be taken seriously as a pirate when its obvious he isn't.*

Evelyn found herself waking once more, not able to fully rest now, and knowing why. She hung her head over the side of the bed and she breathed deeply. She felt dizzy and sick once more but she had thrown up most of it she supposed. As she let her body halfway dangle off the side of the bed she noticed as her necklace dangled as well.
The soft moonlight that crept into the room made the ruby encrusted in it sparkle brilliantly but all Evelyn could do was glare at the trinket. How could he have said that? He had promised her never to hurt her, that he wouldn't be like those other men...now his face faded in with all the rest...he was just the same...
She sighed heavily and an angry tear escaped the corner of her eye as she took hold of the necklace and yanked it off. She held the pendant in her hand briefly, eyeing the ship, the heart shaped ruby, all a lie. She should have known...but it still hurt.
Then she looked up and began to stand, defiant of the sickness that took hold of her now. She swayed a bit and made for the door, ready to go up on deck and toss the thing in the sea but she stopped as her hand reached for the handle. She closed her eyes momentarily, she pondered racing to Eric's room, why though she wasn't sure...
Instead she turned and pocketed the necklace, he wouldn't have the privelage of seeing the necklace about her neck now, but she couldn't toss it away...she just couldn't...then she felt the leather. She pulled it out, the crude, brown, leather necklace in her hand and she slumped into bed once more gazing at it and an idea came to her. With that Evelyn tore a piece of red cloth from her sash and began to braid a coupled pieces delicately, making the piece the center of the necklace. It was plain, a bit crude, and nothing special...a lot like herself she supposed...
Evelyn bit her lip, although Eric said these things she couldn't help but not COMPLETELY hate him...that was her problem she supposed...not that he would leave...but that she'd still miss him and wait for him, not that he would lie to her but that she would want to believe him, not that he wouldn't change, but that she didn't want him to in the first place...
This was her bloody problem...and she doubted she'd be rid of it soon...Evelyn closed her eyes and a tear fell again as she placed the necklace in her pocket...

*Eric laid there quietly beneath the covers, trying more than anything to fall asleep. But rest just wouldn't come. Between thoughts of Evelyn that he couldn't shake off and a pounding head he figured it was going to be a long night. He rolled over and removed the blanket from over his head, gazing at the door for what seemed like ages. It was almost as if he were waiting for Evelyn to come bursting back in, though he knew she wouldn't. He sighed heavily and got up grogily, trudging over to the washbasin. He splashed some water on his face then just stuck his whole head in it for a moment. When he came back up for air he shook the water from his hair and rubbed his face with his hands. The luke warm water wasn't as refreshing as he had hoped that it would be. He glanced back over towards the bed and saw Evelyns boot lying there. He rubbed the back of his head in remembrence and he grinned a bit. At least it hadn't been something bigger. With a slight groan he bent over and picked it up, sitting on the edge of the bed and looking it over. He pondered throwing it overboard, knowing that she would need it soon enough. He got up and walked out on deck, hovering the boot over the water then he frowned and pulled it back to him. Turning, he glanced at Tobbs and Will then smiled as he made his way towards Evelyns cabin. He knocked on it and abruptly set the boot down before the doorway and he hurried off, stubbing his toe on a barrel as he ran by.* Bloody hell. Are you out to get me or something? *He asked, stumbling a bit as he glanced up towards the heavens, obviously talking to God. Then he shook his head and limped quickly back to his room.*[/color]
