<*yelps* Mates, I thought we said we'd take this one slow!! Filling up five pages in three days isn't exactly that! I'd like to be active in this one, but I've got school and such...and if you're going to go fast, it's not exactly gonna help, either...> (No worries mate one of those pages was just Evy and Eric fightin- Will)
Rose turned curiously as a new arrival appeared on the ship - Eric, it seemed his name was. She'd talk to him later...Rose was a curious girl, and while she wasn't exactly a "people person", she didn't like not knowing what was going on around her. She watched, amused, as Eric and Evelyn got into a mini-fight...she could tell right away he was going to clash with fiery Evelyn. But some other sparks could possibly develop...other than just fighting...
Rose regarded Evy curiously after Eric left. "So...charmin' new lad we've got, eh?" she drawled innocently to the older girl.
Hawk Aureye stood at the edge of the dock, regarding the sea thoughtfully. He'd always had a fierce love of the water, having been raised at sea...his mother hadn't wanted him, so she'd given him away to a sailor. The man, who'd lost his own son, had raised Hawk until he was five. Then, the boy had gotten separated from his foster father; he'd gone from ship to ship, picking up skills such as shipbuilding and cooking, until he was twelve. Then, he'd begun to fall in with pirates.
The name that Hawk's foster father had given him was Jonathan, but as a pirate, Hawk adopted the name he still bore; Hawk for the bird of prey, and Aureye meaning "golden eye", for the eye on the medallion he always wore around his neck. As a pirate, he'd learned other things: fencing, wrestling, the art of disguise, how to knock a man out with a single touch, how to fire a gun, how to toss a dagger, and how to kill a man without feeling remorse. Hawk had never been too good at the last, having a bit too much of a conscience for a pirate. However, he was a skilled lad, and before he was sixteen, he'd had many weapons, talents, and even a few kills under his belt. He only killed when it was necessary, though, preferring more creative methods of incapacitation.
At the age of sixteen, Hawk had been marooned on an island by his newest crew; they worried about the precocious boy rising in their ranks. He'd kept his head, though, and promptly made a signal fire. Within three days, he was rescued and taken to Port Royale. There, he'd gotten a job as a shipbuilder under the alias Jonathan Brigs, the name his first foster father had given him. He'd worked there for a year...but now, he was getting restless. He ached to join the ranks of pirates once more...
That was why the young, handsome lad, dressed plainly and simply, but with weapons displayed prominently and a gold earring in his upper right ear, stared with moody chocolate-brown eyes onto the calm sea.

Evelyn stood shaking her head. As a younger member of the crew approached she took a side glance at her, trying to calm herself with a few deep breaths before responding. She remembered her name, Rose. "Charmin'...hardly..." Evelyn said rolling her eyes. With him on board she knew it'd be difficult. "The Capn's lucky I like this ship...or else the minute that bloke touched me, I would 'ave been gone." She said huffily turning to the Rose, one of the younger ones aboard the Black Pearl.
Her thoughts turned away from the heated argument and she spoke much more calmly now. "Did ye see 'im? The Cap'n I mean...he came on board with someone...two someone's 's a matter o' fact. Do ye know who they are?" Evelyn sighed. Still her thoughts couldn't turn completely away from what had happened just moments ago. It was a good thing that man was far away from her, he'd better keep his damned distance from her for the remainder of the voyage as well. That is if he wanted to save his skin.

Rose shrugged easily. "Nah, didn't catch 'im...the cap'n comes and goes as 'e pleases, I figure 'e'll tell us later if 'e thinks it's somethin' 'is esteemed crew should know about, aye?" She winked cheerfully and continued polishing the gun. "Pirates aren't people persons, Ev, an' th' world knows it...I figure if 'e thinks 'e can survive 'round 'ere for long without learnin' 'ow t'get along with others...well...'e'll deserve what's comin' to 'im." She aimed the gun carefully at some objects along the horizon, though not firing. "'Andsome though, wasn't 'e?" she added cheerily. That was Rose - always on top of things, constantly finding ways to say something in a light, happy tone.

Evelyn nodded at Rose's words as she spoke of the Captain. Indeed, pirates never learned more than they needed to know and she shrugged. "Guess yer right." She said looking out the horizon. Staring for a moment at the pistol she turned back to look at Rose. She was young, but there was a sort of sense in her, that just made her feel a bit wise.
"Handsome?" Eve said as if surprised by her comment. Thinking about it for a moment she pictured him. His eyes were a deep brown, and his hair a dark blonde. He was around her age, she suspected, but she sensed a sort of sadness in him. Everyone had their secrets she supposed. She had hers. Evelyn shook her head. "Eh, if ye call THAT handsome." She said giving Rose a small smirk. Truth be told Evelyn did find him handsome, or...no...of course not.
Eve shook her head. The man was a complete brute, a coward, a bad tempered, ill mannered man. Although she'd met FAR worse. Still, having him push her off to the side like he did only put one thing in Evelyn's mind, he was trouble. As long as he kept his distance from her, she supposed she could survive. Eve's hard nature came from being mistreated most of her growing years, she had grown accustomed to it. Thus prompting Eve to build up a few walls of defense, one being the ability to block others out and two...sarcasm.
It was for these reasons Evelyn came off to most as rude, disrespectful, or even at times arrogant. But she didn't mind. She didn't give a care in the world what others thought of her. She couldn't...it'd reveal the true her, the softer, more understanding side of her which to her was killed and taken from her...4 years ago.

* Maria was growing weary of her questions... All she wanted to do was aim the gun at her and pull the trigger, but that would bring her too much attention. So she stood there in the company of a menace... Maria knew it was growing late and soon the crew would head back to the Pearl. She broke her gaze to look behind her to see if they had been heading back, but when she turned back the woman was gone.. She looked up and down the streets and saw no remnant of her. Maria merely shrugged and put her pistol back into its proper place...
Maria headed toward the docks. She had put the necklace on and ran her fingers through her long brown hair. With one glance back her eyes studied the setting once more, every building, street and shop. Then she caught sight of her, peering out her room window. Maria's eye's widened then unexpectedly bumped into Hawk*
" Oh, sorry..."
* Once the young girl broke their gaze she made a run for it. She didn't want to be seen, she felt she shouyld make her own grand entrance. a one nobody would forget.
She ran up the stairs and closed the door behind her. Briar took off her coat and headed towad the window. Her longs fingers brushed back the curtain and her Emerald eyes peered out unto the dock and harbor...*

*Erics eye was still focused on the door, his escape from this ship and that bloody woman Evelyn. Finally he took a deep breath and stood up, walking slowly towards it. Grabbing the handle he suddenly had a second thought. He was Wills friend and he had come back to see Will. If he got off the ship now it would be weeks before he'd see his friend again and frankly he didn't want to spend that time with Elizabeth.* Just go you don't belong here. *He said softly to himself and he opened the door swiftly and hurried across the deck. He spotted Evelyn talking with another woman, Rose and he cringed slightly. So apparently she wasnt going anywhere. Not that he had expected her to, she was apart of the crew. He went over to her and eyed Rose for a moment then he smiled and tipped his head to her then looked at Evelyn and his smile faded.* You'll be happy to know I'm abandoning ship. *He stated then turned and started to hurry off. When he got to the railing he stopped. What was he doing? He couldn't get off the bloody ship! If he did that would only mean he let that woman get the best of him. And besides she was kind of cute when she was mad. Wait she wasn't cute she was far to cocky for her own good! He spun around and went back over to her.* I changed my mind. If you get to stay then Im bloody well gonna stay here too. *He said then smiled at Rose one more time before walking off to the opposite side of the deck.*

Evelyn crossed her arms across her chest as he approached, "Here comes the devil himself." Evelyn grunted looking him up and down with a stern look upon her face. Her eyes stared into his, she was firm as he approached them both. As he spoke she smirked. "Good riddance then, go!" She urged him as he quickly walked to the side of the ship. "Stupid bloody idiot...hope he doesn' come back." She told Rose turning back to her.
Though as she turned to him she couldn't help but feel a bit sorry he was leaving, until he turned and returned to her. "Fine! Stay!" Evelyn said. "Bu' ye better stay out 'f my bloody way, savvy?" Evelyn stepped forward a bit, her fists clenched as she yelled back at him. "An' why are ye tellin' me this? It's no' like I'd care either way, mate." She told him wondering if he'd respond to that.

*Eric stopped dead in his tracks as she shouted back at him and he rolled his eyes and his fists clenched. Glancing upwards he shook his head.*My God does she ever shut up? *He muttered, spinning back around. He went over to her and pointed a stern finger at her.* Why did I tell you? Well because I....well I.....you know what! Its not important why. I shouldn't have wasted my breath. *He said, clearly annoyed by her question, but mostly annoyed by the fact that he didn't know how to answer it.* Now if you wouldn't mind could you please stop making me look like an ass in front of the lass here? I havent made you look like an ass to Will yet. *He said defensivly and a grin formed on his face as a thought crossed his mind.* But then the day is still young. *He said simply.*

Eve's mouth dropped as he muttered. Her eyes squinted as she looked up at him hard, her honey colored eyes growing fierce. "Why ye arrogant, good fer nothin'..." Evelyn took a deep breath. "I'm very sorry if ye wasted yer breath mate, but obviously 's not tha' big of a problem considerin' yer still standin' here..." She began lifting a brow and giving him a smirk. "An' YOU make ME look like an ass?" Evelyn laughed and turned her face away from his before turning back to him. Eve brushed a few of the brown tendrils from her face as she began to retort once more.
"Tha's funny mate, what were ye, an entertainer before ye boarded our ship? Hope so mate...it's gonna be a long voyage an' we'll need some type of amusement." She stated flatly to him. Evelyn was shorter than him, but she didn't feel a tiny bit of intimidation, although he was about a whole head taller than her, her brow just reaching the tip of his chin.
The man was arrogant and a complete nuisance. She even began to consider leaving the ship. Her eyes turning to the docks and then back at him. But no, she would stay, why should she let the man waltz in and make HER leave? This was her bloody crew, and she'd stay here...even if she'd have to put up with his presence for the remainder of the voyage.

Post by Captain Morgan Barbossa on May 19, 2004 22:21:08 GMT -5
::Awakened by the sound of Jack Monkey's shrieking, Barbossa sat up in his longboat. He had been at sea for several days now, and so far luck had been on his side. There had been no storms to threaten his voyage, and he hadn't seen another ship since the second day he'd set out from Isla DeMuerta::
::Now, scanning the horizon, he could see that his luck was holding out a little longer. A dark line was forming between the water and sky, the first telltale sign of land! Gulping down a bit of water from the last remaning flask, Barbossa eagerly grabbed the oars he'd tucked under one of the seats. Grinning broadly, he began to row toward the island...::
~LATER THAT NIGHT~
::Barbossa drew his hood up over his face to disguise his features as he waded toward the docks. He turned to watch the last tip of the longboat disappear underwater before continuing on::
::Jack was perched on his shoulder and his face well-hidden thanks to both his cloack and the welcome darkness. He stopped as he saw someone approaching him out of the corner of his eye. He willed his sword arm to remain steady at his side::
"State yer name an' business, mate." ::an old man coughed out, favoring Barbossa with an appraising look. The only reply he recieved was a soft jingle as three coins were extracted from the pirate captain's purse. He dropped them into the man's wrinkled, outstretched palm, and began to walk away. Tearing his eyes from the sparkling treasure, the old man called out:: "Welc'me ta Tortuga, me fine friend! Ye'll fit right in 'ere!"
::After wandering the streets for a good while, Barbossa finally retired to a familiar pub in the center of town, the Marauder's Mug. He stepped inside, greeted by the pleasant din of tavern fights and the smell of rum and sweat and blood. Ahhh, how he'd missed this!::
::He chose a table in back and ordered a tall mug of grog. He watched some of the drunks arm wrestle nearby, then repressed a smirk as the loser grudgingly payed out his wager to the men around them::
//Nothin' yet// ::he thought to himself. He had come here with a purpose that night - if he was to go after Jack and his friend (what was his name...? The eunuch lad.) he would need a ship. And where better to find a man drunk or stupid enough to strike a deal with Barbossa than the most infamous tavern in the most infamous city in the entire Caribbean?::
::Just then, he noticed that the clamour of the pub had died, and an eerie silence hung in the air. Following the gaze of the arm wrestlers, Barbossa saw the reason for the interruption::
:: Damien Vichini was painfully aware that hundreds of eyes were watching him, following him as he moved from the doorframe to an empty table in the back of the Marauder's Mug tavern. A strange mood seemed to fill the crowded room, and no one dared move. It was as if Time itself had stopped the moment he'd opened the door::
//You'd think I'd be used to this by now// ::he mused, his grim smile concealed behind his hooded cloak::
::Barbossa studied the man's figure as he walked. Beneath the thick black cloak, he was tall and slender, yet he possessed an odd strength about him. Maybe it was the speed with which he moved, or the sword, worn with heavy use, that swung by his side as he moved that created an odd sense of nervousness within those aroung him. As soon as he saw this strange man, Barbossa knew this was his chance::

*As Evelyn began to call him names such as arrogant and good for nothing Eric couldn't help but grin. He'd been called pleanty worse in his day and her words bothered him little. Then he laughed.* Well Evelyn I believe youre still standing here too. *He stated, folding his arms. He paused for a long moment as she spoke about him making her look like an ass and his grin only grew.* You know what, youre right Im sorry. I wont make you look like an ass. You'll do a damn good job of that yourself. *He said, taking another step towards her. When she commented about what he was before he boarded the ship he nodded his head out towards the empty horizon where there was nothing.* That is what I was before I boarded this ship. And that is what I became two years ago. Nothing. *He said, frowning a bit. But he quickly regained his composure and let out a hearty laugh.* We will need some amusement on this ship. Thats why Im glad youre here. *He said then gave her a smirk and sat down casually on a barrel as if nothing had just happened.*

Evelyn shook her head. Her face still fixated in complete rage and her skin had begun to turn hot once again. She took in a deep breath. Eve walked closer to him. "Ye think tha's it, is it? Tha' that's jus' gonna shut me up, don' ye?" she asked him. Her fists were clenched as her curls blew sideways with the breeze. "Well yer right. I see no point in pursuin' this conversation with ye, I mean how much of an intelligent conversation can ye have with a bloody bilge rat anyway?" Evelyn asked him putting her hands on her fists.
To tell the truth she was holding back. She had nastier words, more lethal, more hurtful, but said nothing. Evelyn didn't know why really, she didn't want to go too far with him, although she suspected it was only because she knew he'd be on board for a while and she'd better not give him reason ta try and kill her.
She looked him over, so many things buzzing through her and rage the most prominent at the moment. Her face was fixated on him for a moment as she gave him a sarcastic grin. Instead she took in a deep breath. "I"m done with ye." She told him in a lower tone.
Eve ran a hand through her hair and sighed looking out at the horizon. The sun was setting now, and the cool breeze had begun to blow. She wanted to set off soon, being docked like this wasn't her cup of tea...by far. She was tired and didn't want to go on and on with him. Instead Evelyn leaned agains the gunwalls. Hoping Eric wouldn't retort angrily at her anymore. And even if he did she wouldn't say a thing. She was afraid if he did she really would kill him.

He watched Evelyn and Eric. But did nothing more Evelyn was a tough girl. and Eric had his reasons for being angry. And Roux was too reasonable. He waited calmly, but said nothing.
Some people just felt they had to fight to establish their place. Roux was intereted, but not really ready to jump into a fight. Not yet. Calm hazel eyes peered at the pair, and he stepped from his comfortable perch on the ship, and csually walked by them, showing his pressence without interfering on anything.
"You know the Captain doesn't like fighting on his own ship." Was all he said, and walked by, determined to find a more relaxed area to watch and observe.
