* Maria watched at Evy poured the rum into her own mug and drink it wholly... She didn't really seem in the mood to talk, so Maria sighed and leaned back into her chair and and stared at the ceiling. Then Evy asked her why they had been brought here. She sat back up promptly to tell her what Jack had told her* " Cap'n says we've come 'ere 'cause 'e wants teh visit an' ol' friend.. Said som'n 'bout 'is friends son... I say this bloody trips a waste of time...""But.." * She said hesitantly " I could b'wrong...." * She turned to Evy who didn't seemed quite amused by the whole trip herself* " What's th'matter wit' you?"

::Darkness::
::It surrounded him, engulfed him, swallowed him whole, until he was so lost in despair that he didn't remember who or what he was. It was the only thing he had now. That and his hate::
::Through all the long nights his soul had been tormented with lonliness and despair, the only thing he had been able to think of was him. He screamed his name to the emptiness around him, cursed his soul to the same eternal damnation he was now suffering. Jack Sparrow.... his most hated enemy::
::The mere thought of Sparrow filled his mind with an unfathomable loathing, and for a brief moment before the darkness took him again, he would vow to escape from this eternal prison and get his revenge::
~Isla DeMuerta~
::Jack Monkey sniffed the air of the cave around her. The hair on her neck was bristling, and a familiar scent invaded her nostrils. He was close now....::
::Scrambling over to a locked chest, Jack slipped inside, appearing a moment later with an odd necklace. The silver chain shimmered in her tiny hand, the heavy, golden Aztec coin dangling in front of her. The skull on the front caught the light reflecting off the treasures in the cave, and the ruby eyes glittered menacingly::
::Jack raced over to the stone chest she had seen her Master open so many times, and climbed inside. The coin began to vibrate, sending bursts of icy wind through the cave. Jack had tried this before, but she somehow KNEW it was going to work eventually....::
::Suddenly, the coin stopped moving, and an eerie silence filled the room. Jack trembled slightly, fighting her instinct to run.... Then, the coin vanished! A loud crash sounded from nearby, and the monkey whirled around to see what had cause it. She let out a howl of triumph at what she saw::
::Captain Morgan Barbossa stood up shakily, trying hard to keep his balance on the unstable pile of gold underneath him. The look of confusion and disorientation was apparent on his face::
::Yet when he heard the familiar shriek, he looked up and grinned. Jack Monkey raced forward and jumped at him, knocking him backwards. Barbossa laughed as he petted his friend::
"Ye did it, girl... Ye really did it...." ::His eyes flashed in the light, and suddenly Jack was afraid. The red glint she saw there seemed unnatural, and the monkey was reminded for a fleeting instant of the blood-red rubies set in the gold coin.... But she was too glad to have her Master back to worry about such things. She curled up in his lap and went to sleep::
::Barbossa sat there for a long while, staring at his surroundings with a cock-eyed grin. He was free... and now he finally had the chance to get his revenge::
"Jack... it's yer turn."

:Jack grin grew wider and he seemed to size Eric up. At his question Jack gave a low chuckle and then backed away just so slightly, then turned to Will:
"A friend of your's eh?" He raised a eyebrow.: "Thought you were to noble to go hangin' about with smart mouthed lads like him..." :He jerked a thumb towards Eric, but his grin was playful....:
"So you married your bonny lass..good to hear...and Poor Norrington.....you think maybe if I fire a few shots at the fort it'll give him something to do?"
;Jack peered around the shop, seemingly amused with what he saw. In truth it hadn't changed much....and he was happy to see it.: "Well, mate I've come to say thank you for saving my life.....and brought you something...." :He glanced at Eric. "But I've nothing for your friend here...so forgive my awful pirate manners.." His smile only increased:
:The gesture was a small one, but a thank you none the less. it was a scarbbard. Made of soft leather and sliver. presummably to fit a sword Jack had seen Will use. It wasn't much..but the next offer would come later. Jack was merely testing the waters:
"not much." He said. "but it might be useful."
:With that Jac gave Will a sort of grin: "and I've a ofer for you, mate. yer dad...pirate that he was.....I feel it's my duty to sort of give you a taste of the pirating life...."
;At Will's look he added quickly: "I'm not trying to turn you into one mate. Just let you know what it's like to be out at sea. Not long trip. From here to Tortuga. You'l lbe back in under three weeks. Just a bit of fun mate.....savvy?"
:He glanced at Eric: "And you can bring this lad here too...if he's got sea legs...."
:Jack smiled, letting his offere hang in the air, wondering if Will would accept. In truth all his offer was ......well it was just that. A offer to be a pirate for a few weeks....let him see what his father was...let him know not all pirates were bad. It'd be a interesting trip to say the least..:

:Kora wound her way through many dark alleyways looking for something. It had indeed been a long time since she had been in Port Royal and she had a very important visit to make. She figetted again with her attire, making sure her shirt was wrinkle-free.:
I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I shouldn't, should just have stayed on the damn boat and leave this place alone. Nothing good can come of this I'm sure.
:She came to a small house, hidden away in the shadows or Port Royal. First, instead of going directly to the door, her pirate self kicked in. Kora walked around to the side of the house and peeked into the window. Not even a moment passed when a cool knife was pressed to her bare throat.:

: Diana had not slept much the night before and was now looking foreward to a day on land. She did love the sea, but being able to walk on solid ground made her happy as well.:
:so it was with a smile she waved to her fellow crew, and followed the Captain off the ship into town. She's been saving her money lately. For just such a occasion when she could buy a few things she wanted. long messy hair glitering from the warm sun, and gray eyes wide with happiness, she walked down the streets, altogether having a wonderul day:
:She stopped a few places, looking at odd trinkets. but she didn't buy anything. Nobody stopped her either. Diana may have been a pirate, but she still looked fairly respectable, when she wanted to. She was dressed in clean black breeches, a gray blue sash, and a loose white shirt. Over this was a gray open vest and her hair was tied back with a leather tong.:
:Her weapons were concealed. If anything she really just looked like a tomboy out for a stroll.:

Post by Roux on May 18, 2004 15:02:03 GMT -5
Roux, ever the calm one of this pirate crew, merely nodded as the captain shouted his orders. He'd only been with the crew for a very short time, but he learned early on Jack was not a man to cross
Outwardly Roux was a man of physical power. He looked as if he might be able to walk through a brick wall and not notice the diffrence between that and a spider's web. He also looked as if he might be willing to step aside on a street to avoid squishing a bug. But he wasn't a large man either. He was neither particually tall, nor did he had huge muscles.
His pressence was more in the way he carried his lithe self. He was built, if like anyone Will Turner. There the similarites ended. His eyes were large, and a glowing hazel. his skin was mildly tanned, and his hair was a mess of chocolate colored waves that were tinted with sunburnt blonde streaks. He looked like one of those silent greek statues of gods and heros you saw and stared at. Only instead of being cold and dispassionate, Roux was very much alive and curiously amused with all those around him.
When the others departed the ship, he held back. He had nothing to do here really. But figuring the walk would do him good, he stretched his legs, and made for the streets. Roux was a silent figure most of the time. Speaking rarely and only becoming aggresive when he had to be. Most of the time he was casually well mannered, well meaning and thoughtful.
where most of the crew was tattooed, Roux was not. Where most of them enjoyed rum, Roux did but didn't endulge, preferingto have his full wits about him. Where most of the pirates lived for treasure, Roux was just along for the ride, did his part and helped and enjoyed the changing of the sea around him.
it was this casually dressed man who stepped into Port Royal, following no particular destination or thought, just following his whims and enjoying the sun on his face.

~The Grand Entrance of TopSword Tobbs~
*The past bore through the streets of Port Royale...memories, fears, trials...this place, this oddly familiar place, was a faint flicker of remembrance to the young lady who walked down its streets. Her eyes searched the faces...looking for a faint recognition, the slightest resemblance to her enemy....she felt their eyes, always watching...and she meant to end that...*
*Who was this lass, so set upon finding her despised? Most everyone knew her, or the name they called her by. TopSword Tobbs, one of the best swordsman (or woman in her case) and sea woman living who happened to sail under pirate flags..they said she'd been everywhere, haunting the oceans and preying on the ports and towns...pirates loved her, soldiers were filled with revenge when they heard her name. *
*She was now adorned in her latest wardrobe, the silks and linens of a Captain pirate, fit to match her, being the women that she was, by a friend back in Singapore. It was a beautiful color, and her eyes matched perfectly with it, a teal bluish green-the only difference was the speckles of brownish gold in her eyes. They seemed to change color to whatever she wore that was blue or green, but the mysterious specks stayed the same, a blazing gold and brown...*
*Her outfit was able enough to let her run around in and still had a piraty edge to it, and as she walked the cobblestone strets, her hand was placed on her hilt. A gust blew her long golden hair in the wind, as the sunlight shined on her skin, tanned by the sun's kiss.
*She heard a noise from the alley, and immediately raced down it. She could see a lady farther down, but she couldn't tell who it was...and all of a sudden she was slammed onto the ground unexpectantly. In an instant, she was on her feet, her cutlass against the throat of her attacker. She grinned slyly*
"Flames....So I 'ave ya 'ere...now where be yer master!?! Speak quickly, ya wretch!"
'I'm wrech!'
*Tobbs heard another voice behind her, and a hiss as well as a woman like laugh. So the whole gang was here...perfect, more to fight against!*
"So, Snakes, decide ta join the party?"
'Hehehehe....sssssilly pirate, itssss you we'll be takin to our party...only it ssshant be fun fer you!'
*Tobbs grinned and rolled her eyes, grabbed Wrech and flung him onto the group of people, then leaped down the alley over a wall. Her cutlass was left behind unfortunately.. She could hear Snake's hiss and his orders, and footsteps behind her. She raced down a turn and slid to a halt before a few shops...a pub, too risky..a barber's...too dull of a scene...the Port would be hard to escape...hmmm...Ah! The Blacksmiths! There'd be weapons in there, sure enough! A few seconds and she slammed open the door, slammed it shut, and grinned slyly yet again.*
*When she turned herself around, she raised a brow. Her grin never left her face, and her eyes caught a glance of the weaapons there.*
"Well now, what do we 'ave 'ere?"
*She sauntered, but more of a pretty saunter...so to speak, up to them, her eyes first on Will.*
"So we ;ave the blacksmith judgin' by 'is clothes...A friend 'o's 'ere to 'elp out with the things made...and...and what be this before my eyes? Another pirate, eh?Hmmph...seems to be one...'as the look about 'im.."
*She had her face close to Jack, then she eyed him up and down as she judged who he was. A smirk grew on her lips by the time she was done, and she edged towards the weaapons as they began to speak...closer, closer...she was in range enough for escape and the weapon.*
"Well 'good' sirs, it was a pleasure ta meet ya all, but I'm afraid I can' stay to chat. Too much on me 'ands these days...farewell!"
*And with that, she grabbed the best saber there, ran for the door, and managed to slip out before Will could trap her in there as he had once done to Jack. She was fast, and sly, and though she seemed to be rude and obnoxious...it wasn't her personality, just how she learned to be in her life since itd been so hard. It was the best defense, and it always worked.*
*In an instant she raced down the streets and turned a corner. She stopped to take a breather and laughed mockingly...but yet, something in her heart...did she feel bad? She shook it off and planned to go get rid of Snakes and rewin her title as Captain...blasted mutineers...*

:Jack...being Jack...hadn't exactly enjoyed the "inspection" by this new lady. But he had made a jump at her, as if he could catch, she tore out of the shop before he could reach her.:
:Jack followed at a run....ducking in and out of shops and streets...scaring many a chickens, children and merchants in the process....and finally he cornered her...a amused grin written plainly on his face:
"Well.....I'm not sure who you are, lass.....but that is my friend's saber you've got there.....I'm sure he'd like it back....."
:He drew his sword, well aware she'd probably be ready to fight for it...she looked the type. Jack took in her apperance. She was a Captain....not exactly odd. but normally two pirate captains were'nt found in the same port unless it was a pirate haven like Tortuga.....not a respectable island like this......:
:He eyed her closely now..guessing who she was. Topsword Tobbs by the looks of her. He smiled faintly, but didn't let his guard down: "so what's nice captain lass like yourself doing in Port Royal?...I thought me and the Pearl kept most other ships out of this island's range......"
:He sounded amused......curious even and he walked around her, circling....attempting to find the upper hand....a advantage of any kind. He waited....seeing if she would make the first move or not:

Post by Rose Glassman/Hawk Aureye on May 18, 2004 16:31:30 GMT -5
Rosalina Glassman sat on the side rail of the Black Pearl, letting her feet dangle off the edge of the ship. She sat like this often, even when the ship was moving; it had gotten her many odd looks and murmurs of "That girl is crazy," but Rose didn't mind. In fact, she quite enjoyed it. It was a comfortable position, and it gave her a clear view of the town, the dock...and most importantly, the sea.
The sea had been Rose's home for the past two years; when her mother had died, Rose had left home at the age of fifteen and gone pirating. For a year, the sea had sustained her; she'd grown to know it and love it well. Being on her own had given Rose a maturity and ability to handle situations far beyond her age. When she was sixteen, Rose had joined up with the crew of the Black Pearl (it was actually quite an interesting story that Rose was fond of telling); she'd remained with them for the past year.
Rose wasn't exactly pretty, but she had something about her - perhaps it was her air of devil-may-care confidence - that gave her a uniqute beauty of her own. She had waist-length dark hair - usually tied back with a dark red bandana - and grey eyes that reflected the colour of the sky during a storm. Her face was set with strong features, and her body was slender. Her usual uniform was an off-white loose blouse, ripped at the shoulder to reveal her tattoo of a rose, loose, dark pants, a belt, and short boots. She'd also wear gloves with the fingers cut off and an assortment of weapons on her being - she was a pirate, after all.
At the moment, Rose didn't want to leave the Pearl for two reasons. One, she hadn't done so for over a year - it was her home. Second and more importantly, she'd stolen a boat from Port Royale during her year on her own, and she was worried that someone might remember her.
At the moment, she was polishing the barrel of her gun and humming the Captain's favourite pirate song..."Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me..."

*Tobbs had ran on a short distance and stopped at an ally that was blocked off by a wall. She began studying it, trying to search for a way she could scale it and reach the other side.*
* All of a sudden she heard something coming towards her at the far end of the alley. She turned to see a form running straight towards her. In an instant she was halfway up the wall, but her hand slipped and she landed right where she started, back on her feet fortunately, and the man she'd seen in the Blacksmith's was right in reach of her*
*He had cornered her, but she'd never admit defeat. This would be a way to practice out her new blade. Her bad side made life all too easy.*
*When she looked at him, her eyes were caught in his for a moment, captivated by them...then she shook it off like she'd done with so many other things. She felt a sudden spark of anger when she saw his amused look.*
'Well.....I'm not sure who you are, lass.....but that is my friend's saber you've got there.....I'm sure he'd like it back....."
*She looked down at the saber and back to him, a wily smile upon her lips. When he drew his weapon, she squeezed the hilt of her new found weapon, as if readying herself for the slightest opening of a suprise attack.*
*It was her turn to take a closer look at the man. He indeed seemed to be a pirate, a pirate captain to be exact...she managed to slip her eyes down and glanced at the tattoo he had designating who he was...Jack Sparrow...so this was the imfamous pirate she'd heard about? He sure seemed to fit the profile...and he had a rather handsome look about him, especially with the 'air' he had...*
*She cursed herself for thinking so. All men were dogs, dumb and foul...she'd learned that along time ago, and she'd not let this Sparrow play games with her. She could tell he'd figured her out as he eyed closely at her...and when he smiled, she almost felt the slightest twinge in her heart to smile back nicely and meet him properly....*
*Agin she cursed herself. What was this Sparrow doing to her? How dare he play around with her for his amusement? She grasped the hilt tighter, the cunning smile still present.*
"so what's nice captain lass like yourself doing in Port Royal?...I thought me and the Pearl kept most other ships out of this island's range......"
*He began circling her, his amused expression and vibe turning the spark into a burning anger. Half of her was saying that he only wished to be nice, and that she should stop trying to be so cruel. The other half, her bad side, only filled her mind with thoughts to attack Jack and get him out of her head. As of late, she seemed to favor her bad side...*
"So ya know 'o I am I'm guessin'...and well, Jack Sparrow, it seems I've gotten you figured as well. Or isn't it Captain now? I've 'eard of you winning back the Pearl, but I've always assumed ye'd lose it again...seems ta be easy fer ya ta do now, doesn't it?"
*A mocking smile played on her lips as a shine in her eyes playfuly matched his.*
"So yer the one that's been keepin' all us outta this Port? Now that I'm 'ere, I 'ave to comment on yer skills to keep us out, disregarding me 'o course, and the others that've sneaked in..."
*Now she was lying a tad bit, since she was the one who snuck in here on a ship from Port Royale in hopes to take back her ship, The Sea's Wrath, since it had been captured by Norrington's men. Her crew had committed mutiny, and was now tracking her down and trying to steal her ship again, right here in Port Royale.
*She'd guessed they'd snuck in as well, and so really, Jack and his crew were doing a marvellous job...but Tobbs, being Tobbs, would never admit that either. They'd already stolen the ship and brought it to the far end of the place, not visible by anyone, but accessible to those who knew their way. *
*Tobbs knew the way, and she easily could retake what was hers as well. The only thing was she seemed to always get delayed...which happened to be what was going on at that moment. At this rate, she'd might as well give up the saber and get her ship. But her stubborness refused.*
"So tell me, Sparra, when did ya decide ta give up yer true ways and guard Port Royale's boundaries like Norrington's dog? 'ave ya been trained that easily, ta practically turn into another one of his foot stools?"
*She knew she'd managed to irritate him as she spoke her words, and she felt the tension between the both of them. She noticed his anger...perhaps he could be rash about it and use it to try and fight, which for any person who used a sword knew that that was one of the worst mistakes made. And since he wan't going to make the first hit..*
*She twirled and slammed her blade against his, her hopes of suprise gone. She began to drive him back, but he quickly recovered and drove her back a few steps as well. He'd managed to place his blade in front of her, poking her in the ribs lightly as if just to show he could win.*
* She somewhat snarled and jumped up as he brought his blade low, placing the tip of her blade at his throat, a triumphant smile on her face. A pistol seemed to find its way against her, and she glared at him, her smile for once vanishing. She kept her saber against his throat, and he seemed unmoved as well. *
*She stared into his eyes, the burning passion of anger flashing in her face. Her eyes had become a deep blue, like the sea in a violent storm. For a moment, they both were frozen like that...and for the life of her, she wouldn't budge. She had realized that for the first time in her life...she'd had a draw*

:Linea stood there behind her captor with her blade held tight to their throat. She was dressed in soft breeches and a sky blue shirt. She had long dark hair that was tied in a braid down her back and bright sapphire eyes. The only hint of her true wealth, was her blade and her knowledge of how to use it. Linea was a warrior and a theif and she didn't take too kindly to strangers prowling around her home. She kept her home in a dark alleyway so that her dark dealings would go unnoticed. She tightened her grip on the blade and spoke to her captive.:
Now what 'ave we 'ere? :she drawled: A wee young'n out for a stroll? Ye should think on what yer doin' wandr'n around 'ere. Ye could get yerself hurt a bit. Now what're ye doin' here, stalkin' around me home. Best speak up quick or I'll gut ye like a fish.:
:The captive figeted as Linea renewed her grip on the blade and held it closer to their neck. They knew that she meant the threat and would make good on her promise. The person coughed a bit before they spoke.:
Linea! Don't you know your own cousin? One would think you would recognize me. Come on, let up a bit or I'll have a go at you like I did before when we were but children.
Kora! :Linea said removing her blade and putting it back in its sheath.: Now what're ye doin' 'ere? Don't ye know not te be lurking about 'ere? I thought I told ye what line of work I be in.
:Kora smiled as she faced Linea: Cousin, I am sorry. I had quite forgotten myself. Sorry to startle you. I myself am not in the same line of work as I used to be. But that is a story for later.
:Linea listened to what her cousin had said and was interested, very interested.: Come in dearie and explain te me what's goin' on. Ye wouldn't've come all this way fer nothing. Let's get inside an' talk. Too many ears be about.
:With that, the two women walked indoors to speak of the dealings that had gone on since they had separated.:

*Will watched with amusement at his friends words towards Jack then he grinned and shook his head at Jacks comment.* Eh he wasn't always like this. *Will said, eyeing Eric and he laughed.* Haha it's true he hasn't been all that busy after your escapade. It'd be interesting to see what would happen. *He said then a look of surprise came over his face as Jack said he was here for thank yous and to deliver a gift. When he said he had nothing for Eric, the man just waved his hand and Will grinned. He glanced down at the scabbard and slowly took it, whiping it around a bit to test it. He nodded.* Thank you Jack. I guess I should be thanking you too. *He said, feeling slightly embarassed he had nothing to give in return. But then he wasn't expecting to see the Captain any time soon either. Then at Jacks words of an offer and his dad Will raised a bow and tilted his head slightly. Then he laughed.* You'll have me back in under three weeks hum? Eh well it'll make Elizabeth happy to hear I suppose. *He said then glanced over at Eric.*
*Eric folded his arms across his chest and leaned against a work bench as Jack and Will talked, exchanging thank yous and reciving gifts. Apparently he had missed a lot in the two years he had left Port Royal to return to England. When Jack said Eric could come along for the trip if he had sea legs Eric stood straight up.* I've got better sea legs then Will there. When do we leave? *He asked.*
*Then suddenly a woman came bursting into the shop and Will and Eric both looked at her with surprise. As she edged towards the weapons the scene became all too familiar for Will but before he could catch her she darted out. He rushed to the window and peered out then turned back and looked at Jack and Eric.* Is it just me or does that seem to happen to me a lot? *He said and watched as Jack took off after her. Both men left in the shop raised a brow then looked at one another.* Well I guess we should go inform Elizabeth. *He said. Eric glarred at him slightly and walked to the doorway.*
No, you can inform Elizabeth. I dont have to answer to anybody anymore. *He said, his dark eyes filled with a distant sadness and memory then he hurried from the shop. Will sighed but hurried towards his home.*

Fishy had been sitting on the fore-mast of the ship, his legs dangling over the side, the water below the Pearl splashing up at him. He was 15, still a boy, but a man at the same time. He leaned back, his green sash fluttering in the wind, as he gazed out to sea, oblivious of the goings on around him.
Behind him, Joe Marrin was coiling rope, going about the daily work onboard the Pearl. With a cock-eyed glance, in his rasping deep voice, he half spoke to himself, half to Fishy. "Yer gona fall in one day." And he returned to his work. He looked one eye up into the sky, wondering for a moment if it would rain, then knowing, then casting his eyes back again.

:Jack's amusement grew.....this lady was good with a sword.....almost too good.....but she was using tactics he'd used himself....anger your opponant into being careless....it was a simple enough trick.....but if Jack could do anything..it was read people...this lady wasn't normally so sharp tounged or dark.....interesting....:
:Her jeers did sting a bit, but he was calm, rational when he fought....and he smiled as they came to a draw.: "I protect the people I call friends..." He replied calmly as they came to a stand still, her blade at his throat: "I find it's better to have a few friendly ports to come too...and a ship with a loyal crew......"
:Jack smiled calmly, and dropped his sword, putting it back in his belt, and tilted his head just sligtly: "And you....don't like admitting defeat do you?" His eyes glittered a bit. He watched her a moment and decided for now..the dangerous moment had passed: "So we'll call it a draw....give me that saber back..and if you really need a sword...you can have mine...."
:He offerd the hilt of his sword to her, with a slightly awkward bow: "Fair exchange.....you need a weapon and I owe my friend my life...the least I can do is retrive his sword for him.....what say you to that?"
:so when had Jack Sparrow become wise? He wasn't sure himself really...dealing with curses and undead pirates did that to a man...well...it effected them a bit anyway....he waited..silently...:

Evelyn looked to Maria, her eyes stern, but the soft color bringing out the bit of gentleness that at some point was her true nature. "Nothin's wrong. I'm perfectly fine, 'ave me rum, a few coins in my pocket, and a ship ta sail on...to me that's bein' bloody fantastic." Evelyn stated coldly as she headed she finished off the rum and then headed away from Maria.
She moved through the pub finding herself a table with a view and noticed a couple bodies running passed, both obviously not part of the everyday Port Royale group. Eve took a sideglance towards a soldier and he eyed her curiously. Eve's eyes widened. She remembered the last time she came here, she had cause a bit of raucous and wasn't fancying another stay in the cells of the Fort run by that pompous Norrington.
"Hey! Aren't you tha' girl?" The soldier said as he placed his rum down upon the table. Evelyn stood quickly and began to walk quickly through the crowd. A few heads turned and by the time she reached the door she was sprinting away.
