History
Isabella's father, Captain Pedro Levaga Alejandro, was a famous Spainish pirate, charming and held in reverance by his crew. Although feared by his enemy but would never kill unless needed, he was still a gentleman. The name of his ship was "La nave la libertad y amor " or just "Libertad" for short.
Her mother, Emma Angelus, was a Italian seamstress for a English noblewoman. Fate had them meet but Emma did not know that he was a pirate, she thought that he was a travelling merchant. She fell pregant within two months but no-one even knew about her lover. When her first child was born, Isabella, Pedro spirited both Emma and his new daughter away, back to his ship where he revealed who he really was. Emma at first was horrifed but eventually came to accept it, eventually marrying Pedro and becoming a pirate herself. But when Isabella turned 8, her mother fell ill and never recovered. They buried her body on the island that they had married on and Isabella was treasured by her father.
Before she had died, Emma had taught Isabella how to speak both English and Latin as well as her native Italian. Isabella already knew Spainish as it was her father's langage. She was taught how to write and act like a lady. Her father had taught her how to fight with a sword, use a throwing dagger and shoot a pistol, while hoping she would never have to use it.
One stormy night, Isabella, who was nearly 12 by this time, could not sleep so she went to the stern of the boat. Unknown to her, enemy pirates had boarded the ship and had started kill the crew. Someone screamed and the ship was in an uproar as the fights broke out. Isabella crept back to the captains cabin to get her father where she saw him dueling with the captain of the other ship. Suddenly the captain ran his sword through her father, killing him instantly. Without thinking she screamed, grabbed his pistol and shot the enemy through the heart, her first murder. Still in a fury she took her fathers sword and made her way onto the deck, where she killed any enemy pirate in her way. Finally the battle was over and the captain was buried on the same island as his wife and the first mate took over the captaincy.
But two years later the first mate, now the captain, decided that Isabella was at an age where she could take control of the ship and handed over the role of captain, but remained a very faithful first mate. So for 3 years she was captain, building a reputation like her father had many years before. She met someone on her travels and fell in love, but he did not know she was a pirate. When they became engaged she revealed her place in society which he accepted but before he could take the name of a pirate, the British Navy caught him and hung him for having pirate dealings and refusing to reveal any information of his beloved. Isabella watched this execution, unknown to the Navy, and swore that she would never let anyone she cared about suffer from that punishment again.
She took on another crew member just before her 18th birthday, he was like her father, charming, mysterious and clever. A few weeks later, the crew mutinied on her thanks to the newcomer but he was extremely nice about it.
She was left on a island for two weeks before I boat came by that she could sneak on. Since then she has searched the caribbean for the dog that left her on the island and took her ship, taking on odd jobs. But she has also become something of a mystery and no-one really knows her.
"Not much much is known 'bout young Cap'n Isabella Alejandro since the mutiny. Best not get on the wrong side, if ye know know what I mean."
