When Evelyn retured with the plate of food she was smiling at him and she set the goblet down upon a small table near the end of the couch and displayed the plate of food to him. "Eat up Eric...yer gonna need yer strength..." she said brightly as she forked in a bit of potato and then made to hand him the plate. He seemed to look the plate over half heartedly and Evelyn furrowed her brows. "Is somethin' wrong mate?" Evelyn asked him with concern, placing the plate down upon the same small table and placing a hand upon his cheek.
"Ye look like yer gonna be sick." Evelyn said with a bit of a laugh trying to brighten the mood. Her eyes turned to Sam and then back at Eric and she wondered if he had heard her words to Sam. The fire crackled and the tunder boomed then. Evelyn sighed heavily and bit her bottom lip a bit feeling slightly guilty, but that guilt was quite small and she shrugged it off rather quickly. She supposed if it really bothered him he would tell her, otherwise she didn't see why she should hold back her playful comments.
"Wonder when the rest o' the crew's showin' up." Evelyn said outloud to no one in particular. Her honeyed eyes danced around as she reached into her sash for her flask of rum and took a quick draft of the strong liquid. Her eyes darted towards the door hoping someone would burst in to break the bit of awkward silence that suddenly filled the air. She was suddenly suspicious that Eric indeed had been bothered by her comments but she wasn't quite ready to face his verdict on what she had said earlier.
Randomly, Evelyn then nudged Eric in the side and smiled up at him. "Sorry...had the urge ta see if ye weren' jus' losin'yer mind..." Evelyn said, her voice falling cautiously, as if just testing out the waters with how he was feeling. "Because we all know THA' would be a tradgedy." she said with a bit of a grunt, hoping to see Eric smile or at least mention what was bothering him.

Mark cringed a bit as the lamp shattered on the ground. It was his mothers, it reminded him of her. She loved that damn lamp almost as much as life itself. He wasn't to phased by it though. Crap happens. He leaned down and attempted to brush up the pieces with a hand broom. Finally he got fed up with it and just pushed the mess under the end table.
"Don't worry about the lamp Evy. Crap happens. It was my mothers, but I suppose I can get a new one."
Mark said trying to make her feel bad. He went into the dining room and got his plate and sat in a chair in the living room near the couch. He motioned for Sam and Rhys to come in.
"I was just joking there mate. It was my moms, but I'm not worried about it. So how have you two bloody fools been eh? I assume you heard about Will's tot? Well of course you did, he was there when the ship docked. Cute little tike no? I gotta ask this, are you two ever planning on getting....you know....married.?"
Mark asked as he placed a biscuit in his mouth. He took another sip of his wine and sat it down on an end table.

Sam came into the living room where Evy and them were at. He pulled up a chair next to the couch. He took a bite of his buscuit and then washed it down with a bit of wine. He grinned at Evy's comment to him.
"Thank you very much my lady."
He said as he made a bow. He was being palyful, but he did mean it when he said thank you.
"If you weren't taken I think I just might have to ask you out on a date sometime."
He said and he nodded at Eric playfully.
"So Eric. What do you do when you aren't being a pirate?"
Sam asked. He was eager to get to know the people that Mark had told him about so many times. He was especially eager to learn about Eric and Evy. They seemed like an odd couple and they were always getting into trouble, well according to Mark anyway. He looked at Evy and grinned.
"Well my dear Evy. Was Mark all heroic and such. He insists he didn't do much. But I think better of it. He's not one to boast about himself? He did tell me about his fight with the canniblals....and about Jack."
Sam was so eager to learn about their point of view of the adventure he had blurted out about Jack. He figured he wouldn't do that again as it seemed to make everyone down when he or Mark spoke of it. To him it sounded like Jack was a big traitor, all though Mark had said he didn't think he was a traitor. He knew that Mark was only hurt by the incident mentally. It made him feel like he wasn't wanted or something. But Sam knew that couldn't be true. He knew that being a Captain wasn't easy...afterall that was a lot of people to look after, but still....a Captain should know where and how his crew is at all times. He swithed the subject.
"Hey Eric did you kill anyone?"
Mark glared at him. He couldn't help it. He hadn't been on any adventures like they had.

*Eric poked at the contents of his plate for a long moment when Evelyn asked him if something was wrong. He shrugged a little but shook his head and shovled in a strip of turkey and gravy. In truth he was bothered but he figured it was over something pointless and so he didn't bring it up.
He ate quietly as she pondered aloud when the rest of the crew would show up. Again he shrugged but said nothing. He hadn't the slightest clue why this was bothering him so much but it was. He supposed he was just feeling a little insecure...no love of any kind had ever lasted in his life. He was deathly afraid this one wouldnt either.
When she nudged him and teased him he knew she just wanted to break the tension and so he flashed her a smile and grunted a little.* Yeah well unfortunantly for you its a bit too late for that. *He grinned, eyeing her playfully. He took a sip of his drink as [b[Mark[/b] and the others joined them in the living room. He nodded at the mention of Wills son and then nearly choked on his drink as the M word was mentioned.
He glanced over at Evelyn quickly and his neck grew hot. In all honesty it was something he thought about often. He made it clear to her all the time she was the one he wanted to spend his life with, though he had yet to formally ask her. He wanted to wait for the perfect timing and he just hadn't found it yet. He couldnt help but feel put on the spot and he rubbed the back of his neck.*[/i] Well...umm....actually yes someday I hope. *He said, giving Evy a warm smile.
Then Sam had to go and make another comment about her but Eric actually felt a little proud. Evelyn was wanted more then she knew but he was lucky enough to be the one who had her and he doubted she would stray. When the lad asked if he had killed anybody Eric blinked and then frowned. He'd killed many in his time, some even before he had met Evelyn....again.* Ive killed pleanty, not something I usually boast about though. *He said, eyeing Sam curiously. Then he answered the pirate question.* I really dont do much else I suppose. Spend time with Evy, or read maybe. *He stated. Eric had always loved to read, it stemed from his childhood and the stories he used to read to his sister Melissa.
Finally he raised a brow and looked the man over.* Why do you ask? Wanting to be a pirate? *He questioned with a curious grin on his face.*

As Eric spoke, Evelyn frowned a bit. Something was bothering him, she could tell, and she wasn't exactly happy about being left in the dark about what was plaguing him. She leaned into him gently, placing an arm around his waist gently and then whispered something in his ear. "Eric, luv, I know somethin's botherin' ye...please jus' tell me." Evleyn said as she glanced him over carefully and then looked to his plate. She hated being shut out from what Eric was feeling, because that way, she didn't know if she could help.
Looking to Sam and Mark she smirked slightly at them and at Sam's comments towards her. She merely smiled and winked at him but said nothing, deciding that responding to him even in a playful manner might upset Eric further. When Mark asked about marriage however, Evelyn jerked her head around to him and almost glared at him as if angered by him bringing the subject up. Evelyn had thought about it perhaps once before but she had dismissed it.
When Eric answered however, she lifted her brows and looked back at him. She lifted a brow and smiled gently. "Really? Well...tha's good news...means I won' have ta go buyin' another diamond ring myself." she smirked, suddenly taking the fork from Eric and shoveling a bit of food into her mouth again. "If I left it up ta you, ye'll jus' eat it all..." she said after swallowing the mouthful of turkey and potato.
When Sam asked Eric if he had killed anyone, Evelyn shot a glance towards him and looked at him with a bit of a scolding look. "Sam mate...i's not somethin' ta be proud of, fer sure...although...I say rather them, than us, savvy?" Evelyn told him with a firm nod and a small smile. Evelyn hadn't really been too proud of what she had done, however, deep down she enjoyed the life she had and to keep it she needed to do things that weren't exactly the best, but she supposed she'd rather see a dead naval soldier, than a dead crewmate.
Besides, now with Eric around, her kills were no longer just for her, they were to protect him and that brought no shame to her whatsoever. She then took another swig of her rum and then waltzed back over to the fire, hoping Eric would soon follow suit and would tell her what it was that was bothering him. Her eyes scanning the dancing flames as the lightning and thunder crashed outside.

Sam looked at Eric with an interested look on his face. Eric had a powerful presence to him, almost more than that of Mark. He raised a brow when he told him about killing people. Sam didn't think it was cool or anything. He'd seen battle with his own eyes. He was in South Africa at the time in an English settlement with his parents. His dad was in the Royal Army. They frequently had battles with the natives. He joined up when he was old enough, 16. He'd killed several men with his own rifle, and one with his own hands. He never told anyone. Mostly because his father was killed in battle and he didn't want to think about it. He wasn't haunted by it like Mark seemed to be about his father. His father had fallen doing his duty to his country and he accepted it that way. Then Evy seemed to scold him for asking that question.
"I know it isn't something to be glorified miss. I served with the Royal Army in South Africa with my father for a year when I was 16. I've killed my share of men."
He said quickly. He looked down. He didn't want to see the look on Mark's face. He had never kept anything from him. Mark care for him like a younger brother. The truth was Sam wasn't much younger than Mark. He was almost 19. Mark had turned 21 not long ago.

Mark smiled when Eric said he'd like to marry one day. Evy seemed surprised by this but happy. Then he frowned a bit when Sam asked Eric if he'd killed anyone. Mark wasn't real excited about that question, but the boy was just curious. He listened to Evy snap at the boy, well he figured he wasn't really a boy...he was almost 19 after all. He took a last sip of his wine, which would never meet his stomache, for he spit it out all over when Sam mentioned he had been in the Royal Army. He dropped his plate, luckily it was licked clean.
"You were in the Royal Army!? Why didn't you tell me that? You said that your father died in a ship wreck when you were 16. What else did you keep from me?"
Mark was growing a little mad. He quickly calmed himself.
"I don't guess it is that important. We'll discuss it later. By the way you didn't answer Eric's question."
Mark said motioning to Eric.
Sam looked up at Mark.
"Sorry. I'll tell you all about it later if you want ot hear it. Oh yeah...I was thinking about it Eric if you must know."
He said with a grin on his face.
Mark wasn't really happy about that. But he knew he missed the open sea himself. But he was making a darn good honest living now. It would have to be one hell of an adventure...hopefully without canibals this time, to get him to go.
"Damn right we'll talk about it later. So do you two know anything about where Jack is planning to go next?"
Mark asked Eric and Evy. He didn't figure they knew any more than Rhys did. He looked at Rhys and grinned.
"How are you doin' Rhys? Do you need anything.?"
He asked her. He hoped they could talk more once everyone left.

*Evelyn leaned over and whispered to him, asking him to tell her what was bothering him but he continued to keep it to himself. He figured she'd just laugh if he told her, it wasn't anything to be concerned about anyways he supposed. He did feel a little better when she seemed happy about the fact that he wanted to marry her someday. At least now some of the pressure would be off his shoulder when he actually popped the question.
However she DID mention something about ANOTHER diamond ring and he wasn't sure how he meant this and so he looked at her curiously.* What do you mean, another diamond ring? *He asked, hoping it was just a screw up of words. Of course he supposed if she had been proposed to before he didnt have any right to let it get to him. Afterall he had been engaged before himself.
When Sam revelead a bit about his past Eric looked at him slightly suprised. The guy certainly didn't look like the type to have been in the army and killed. However for some reason he didn't find it suprising that Sam wanted to be a pirate. When Mark asked if he knew of Jacks plans, Eric shook his head.* Actually...I dont. *He grunted.
He watched Evelyn as she left and went back over to the fire. He watched her for a long moment and then smiled, looking back at Sam and Mark.* Am I lucky or what! *He laughed and rose to his feet, trotting over to her. He slipped his arm about her waist, watching the fire with her and he sighed. He figured she'd push him to tell her what was bothering him so he decided just to save them both the time and trouble.* The comments between you and Sam earlier are bothering me...I dont know why. I suppose I just feel like I wont be able to keep you, that I'll loose you. Its happened pleanty of times before. *He said with a sigh then he shrugged.* Its stupid really. *He laughed a little.*

Evelyn's eyes had been staring into the dancing flames casually when an arm was slipped about her waist. The way it gently snaked its way onto her waist made her know instantly that it was Eric's. That and his hand gripped her waist a bit tightly made her know without a doubt it was Eric's. He always tended to squeeze her towards him a bit and she simply credited it to exactly what he then began to tell her.
She lifted a brow and looked at Eric's face carefully as he spoke. "Aw, really mate?" Evelyn asked as she carefully turned a bit to face him. Her back was to the fire and she placed a hand upon his cheek gently, then went upon her tiptoes to kiss his lips softly. "Ye won' lose me Eric." She stated softly adn then sighed. "I mean...do ye think what jus' happened between us a few hours ago is somethin' I do with jus' anyone?" she asked him with a small smirk but meant it in all seriousness.
She licked her lips a bit and then turned away from him, looking back into the flames and crossing her arms. "I mean...when I say I love ye Eric...when I do things like that for ye...ye gotta know its not done without meaning. I would NEVER stray from you...I, I only hope that's mututal." She said softly and in a low tone so that Eric was the only one who caught most of her words.

*As Evelyn placed a hand upon his cheek and kissed him he smiled and laughed a little. Even to this day he found it ammusing how she had to get on her tip-toes just to reach his lips. However as she spoke again his laughter ceased, though a tender smile remained. She was telling him exactly what he wanted to hear. He hadn't truely thought she'd run off with Sam, but he still felt akward about it.* No, I know you wouldn't. *He answered.
That was another reason their moment together at their house had meant so much to him. That alone proved her love to him and though he knew she wouldnt stray from him he was still worried. Fate seemed to enjoy toying with him and even if she didn't want to leave, that didn't mean fate wouldn't make her.
But he smiled none the less, comforted a bit more by her words and he gave her a loving hug.* Trust me, its mutual. *He stated with a nod and then placed his hand on his stomach, full from the glorious meal he had just eaten.* This was just my night. *He laughed warmly. He got to come back to land, had an amazing moment with Evy, and now he had a full belly of excellent food...that was bliss right there.*

(Forgive me for not replying sooner but jet lag and certain Little Monsters have been keeping me for doing so. So here I am, and I shall make a brief post to get my sorry behind back in the rpg, savvy?)
::Jack glanced at the Turners with a smile and tipped his hat to them.:: "Well then to Mark's we go?" He asked with a sort of lopsided grin.:::
::He wasn't sure exactly how he felt about Mark just yet. The guy seemed all right, but Jack, in all his weird knowledge, knew something was eatin' away at the guy.:::
::But he shrugged it off. Nothing the man could do could surprise him really. He was sure he was only holding a grudge for something.::
:::He gave the little baby's head one more good ruffle and then traisped off in the general direction of Mark's home. He'd seen it once before, but he thought he remembered it.::
::And he could see a few of his crew milling around in the general area. So he followed::

Mark was beggining to wonder if anyone else would be coming. He looked at the clock on his wall. It was getting later than he thought it was. He sat up and moved into the kitchen. He brought out a cake that was fairly large. It was real basic. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. He loved chocolate cake. He began to slice it up and set pieces on plates.
"Dessert is up if you're still hungry."
Mark announced as he took a bite of his cake.
"Some damn good stuff if I do say so myself."
He said as he plopped back into his chair in the living room. He looked out a near by window that faced out to the docks. Then he turned his gaze to Rhys. He studied her a moment. She seemed to be worse than he was at expressing what she felt. He turned to Evy.
"Well lass. When are you guys gonna settle down in Port Royal...or wherever you choose to stay? Weren't you fixing up an old house round her or something?"
Mark asked. He took another bite of the moist cake. Delicious stuff indeed.

Sam was surprised that Mark made such a big deal over his Army experience. It wasn't a big deal. He turned his thoughts to Eric. The man seemed to be uncontent with him. Maybe because he said Evy was pretty. But that should make him proud...not mad. He decided to go out on a limb.
"You're not discontent with me are you Eric. I only spoke my mind when I said that Evy was pretty..."
The whole party was kind of glum all of the sudden. He hoped something would happen to make it fun again...

Rhys found herself almost curling back into the chair as the rest of the crew arrived. She did not want to be seen or to be spoke to by the crew. It would only tempt her, tempt her to want to end her isolation. Her eyes locked on the floor, following the swirls in the wood. It was a game that she often did to occupy her mind, while off duty at sea. Follow the swirls as far as she could without having on end. She now knew the pattern in her cabin by heart. Closing her eyes brought it to mind and she slowly decided to see how far she could get before forgetting something.
After a while, she looked up to lock eyes with Mark. Silently, she curled back into her chair. Almost trying to hide from his prying eyes. When he finally turned away she sighed and slouched slightly in her chair. This time instead of returning to her game, she looked around and began to study the people.
Sam was interesting, a new person to study. He seemed shy around women, yet he carried an air that told of a hard life and determination. However, he seemed to be still a boy, yet to grow into himself. She liked him and sent the boy a small smile.
Evelyn, she hadn't changed since the last time Rhys had seen her only a few hours before. The same went for Eric. They were close, happy and seemed to just enjoy life at the moment.
Mark, now he was a bit of an unknown. Rhys looked at him, studying him intently. He was a lot like her. As much as he talked to others he seemed to keep to himself. Yet her senses were telling her that he was keeping something major back. His blue eyes gave nothing away, though, much like her own. He was tall, had a nice body and dark hair that she almost felt the need to run her hands through.
She sat up suddenly and blinked. 'I'm not supposed to be thinking that!' she scolded herself silently. 'I need sleep,' she decided. Standing, she moved towards Mark and touched his arm lightly to get his attention, "I'm thinking of turning in. Could you show me where I'm supposed to sleep?" Her voice was low and only barely audible over the crackle of the fire and murmur or Eve and Eric. She did not want to attract attention to herself.

A smirk grew upon Evelyn's face with Eric's last few comments. She didn't need to be reassured of this anymore, she was starting to simply naturally feel Eric's warm conviction of being with her for a long time to come. She was reluctant to say forever, for one could never truly know when a loved one would be ripped from their side. She hugged Eric warmly and then parted from him. Her eyes looking to the fire and then looking over her shoulder at Mark as he spoke.
Evelyn grinned at the mention of cake and her eyes suddenly brightened mischiviously. "Cake ye say?" Evelyn asked as she made her way rather swiftly towards the chocolate confection that sat upon the dining table. "Jus' a bit o' rum..." Evelyn said to herself as she took out her flask of rum and dumped a bit of the contents upon the cake. Her thoughts suddenly went back to the ideas that had been brewing in her head not too long ago. "I SWEAR rum cakes'll be all the rage in no time..." Evelyn cackled and then placed a fork into the soft cake.
She heard Mark ask about the home and when they were going to settle down and Evely swallowed her cake quickly, afraid at what Eric might say in response. "Erm...we're not goin' ta be settlin' here..." Evleyn stated as she looked around her plate with sudden great interest. "Actually...we do 'ave...well...ERIC 'as a home here...an' well...we jus' want ta keep it up in case we ever need a place ta stay." Evelyn spoke with a nod. "Actually...in fact...it'd be nice if someone could keep it up fer us while we're gone, ye know, add to the home, buy a few thin's, spruce it up, what have you." She mentioned.
Her eyes darted towards the windows where outside the rain still crashed upon the windows and she was beginning to grow anxious about the rest of the crew's whereabouts. Suddenly, another voice sprang up addressing Eric and Evelyn's honeyed eyes darted quickly towards Sam.
He spoke a phrase and Evelyn cringed, more in fear of what Eric might do in retaliation and she swallowed a bit nervously. She noticed a bit of hostility in Eric's eyes at the comment and she fidgeted a bit nervously, anxiously, nervously, awaiting his response to the statement and she found herself making her way slowly towards Eric, ready to jump on him if need be to stop him from overreacting.
