(The title has absolutely nothing to do with the bio, I just had to say it XD)
Name: Rosalìna Glassman (aka Rosalìna Sparrow; she'll use the two interchangeably, but the first is her birth name); nicknamed Rose, no one calls her Rosalìna
Age: 20 [three years after the previous RPG]
Physical Description: Rose is fairly tall, around 5'8". She's got dark grey eyes that will change in shade with her mood; they'll grow almost black when she's angry or upset, lighter when she's happy, carefree, or musing. Her hair is dark brown, shoulder-length, and usually messy; half of it is in small braids, and hangs loose. A dark red bandana ties it back. She's built well, slightly on the skinny side, with long, slender fingers. She's not exactly pretty, but her facial features are strong and set. A scar she acquired in a bar fight two years ago (she attacked a man who insulted her father) slides across half her right cheek. She's usually dressed in a loose blouse, dark breeches, short boots, and black gloves with the fingers cut off. SHe usually carries a sword, several guns, and about ten daggers/knives. Around her neck hangs a gold chain with a medallion on it - there's an engaving of an eye and the words "Jack Sparrow" written on it. She also wears a silver chain with a sparrow in flight on it.
Personality: Rose is a Sparrow, through and through. Her normal attitude is relaxed and easygoing, with a tongue inherited directly from her father, but when trouble starts, she never fails to lose her sense of humor nor her calm exterior, no matter how she's really feeling.
Rose is a fun-loving girl with a disregard for rules, polite society, and responsibility. She's kind, sweet, clever, and learns quickly. In large crowds she tends to be quiet, as she prefers to be alone or with a few people she cares about. She absolutely hates being in the center of attention and will withdraw or attempt to shrug it off if she is. She's not the most graceful person out there, but she looks it if she's standing still (which she rarely does). She loves the sea and adventure...she hates being shut up inside or told what to do.
Rose's worst points are a horrible temper, the ability to hold a grudge to hell and back, and really bad bouts of thoughtlessness - she'll do something first, then think about the effects later. She also hates responsibility and seems to have a knack for placing herself in dangerous situations to help those she loves. She may seem like she's not serious, but she is - being relazed is just her way of dealing with her problems. She also tends not to talk to anyone about her problems, which can cause her to express pent-up frustration by blowing up at inopportune moments.
Three years under her dad's command have cooled her temper noticeably; she is now a more mature version of her 17-year-old self, though how mature remains to be decided.
History: Rose was born on Tortuga to a young woman named Katarina Glassman, who could barely afford to keep herself alive, much less a child. Her father, Captain Jack Sparrow, spent a week with Katarina, then departed without a word, leaving Katarina heartbroken and carrying his child. She had truly loved Jack, and never got over the emotional shock.
Rose grew up on stories about her father's grand adventures as a pirate. She developed a deep awe, admiration, and love for him and his exploits, but underneath that, the fact remained that he had left her mother behind, and never once come to see his daughter. To this day, she's never understood why he did so; even at a young age, she developed a fierce grudge and anger towards him.
Even as a child, Rose had never had much regard for the rules. She was always up and about, she rarely sat still, she hated dresses, and she loved the sea. This led her mother to worry that she'd become a pirate like her father - after all, the girl did have a deep fascination bordering on obsession for piracy - and tried to drum the ideals of being a lady into her daughter's head. Rose, however, did not take kindly to that; she didn't want to disappoint her mother, though, so for ten years, she hid her true nature behind dresses and a polite mask, all the while hating Tortuga and willing to leave as soon as she could.
She got her chance to leave Tortuga a month after her fifteenth birthday; ironically, the event that gave her that chance was Katarina's death. Every single time Katarina had gotten ill, she'd refused medication; medicines were expensive, and she'd always put Rose first. The combined strain of the illnesses and her fragile emotional condition finally caused her demise. A devastated Rose spent several months mourning; once she'd sufficiently gotten over her mother's death, however, she instantly began planning to leave. There was nothing holding her to Tortuga anymore.
Once she had gathered enough supplies, Rose began hopping all over the Caribbean, stealing, lying, cheating, getting into fights, breaking the law. She'd never had more fun in her life. When she was sixteen, she stopped in a Port Royale bar. While there, she heard a man insult her father, Captain Jack Sparrow; without thinking, she attacked the man...who'd been carrying knives and was about twice her size. Rose got beat up badly and acquired the scar on her cheek. Barely able to walk, she'd stumbled into the nearest house she could find - the Turner home. Will and Elizabeth nursed her back to health, and she never forgot what they'd done for her, even after she left Port Royale without saying goodbye to them.
When she was seventeen and a half, the Black Pearl rescued Rose from her sinking stolen boat. For the first time, she laid eyes on her father...and promptly slapped him, letting loose with the emotions she'd kept locked away all those years. Despite their...misunderstood first contact, over the next week or so, Rose and Jack developed a deep bond, and Rose found herself loving her father like she hadn't loved anyone since Katarina's death.
Promptly after Jack and Rose's reunion, they got involved in a fiasco of epic proportions, that ended with Rose finally reuinted with her father, and no problems between them. She joined his command aboard the Black Pearl, and is overjoyed to be sailing with him.
One of the pirates she fought during said fiasco wasn't; cursed...he seemed to have a grudge against her, and she can;'t get his face out of her head. She hopes to meet him and fight him again...
(Whew, that was long! ; Once I get started, there's no stopping me! *grins* Anyway, hope you guys don't mind, I took some liberty with placing this bio after our Plaza RPG, without really giving anything away. *g* Hope you like ze bio!)
