Evelyn had listened intently and lifted a brow here and there at Sam's words. So he had been planning to kill Jack all along. These words seemed to stir a fierce protectiveness in her that she had not felt before, but as they walked along she decided to put what Sam had uttered on the back burner for now. Her eyes narrowed a bit as she pondered Mark over. She really didn't know much about the man, and what she was beginning to learn was making her suspicious...
However it was Sam's last phrase that caught her off gaurd, and consequently, tore Evelyn away from her thoughts about Mark. Her eyes passed over Sam's face and she smirked slightly. He was looking as if he was almost embarrassed by asking her that question but she gave a sigh. Looking around quickly for a moment she half expected Eric to be close by but only hearing a bit of a dull thud, she shrugged and answered. "Well...I've never been asked tha' really...don' really see why YOU'D care ta know but..." Evelyn's voice proceeded slowly at first, as if carefully pondering the situation over but the phrase rang out clearly in her mind.
"Yes. I do." Her statement fell with a tone of finality and a smile crep into place as her eyes fell upon the sands then peered up at Sam. "With everything I am." Her smile then stuck, a small tint of rouge coloring her tanned cheeks and her hands toying with the coconut wedged between them.
As they walked along Evelyn looked to Sam again and gently smoothed her hand down his arm a bit. "Ye'll know what it feels like Sam, ta be that overwhelmed by someone, its too strong to deny and it'll hit ya unexpectedly." Evelyn stated with a gentle smile. Her eyes turned then to Eric as she saw him standing rather TOO casually against a palm tree and she rolled her eyes a bit and laughed. "At the most unexpected time and moment. Right Eric?" she asked suddenly, lifting a brow and inching her way towards him casually as well, slipping a hand into his and giving him a soft kiss on the cheek.
The air was soft and salty today, the breeze just perfect as it wafted strands of her chocolate curls across her face. Eric's eyes were their usual, deep, warm, chocolate color and she nudged his heavy, firm, frame slightly. Evelyn faced him then, placed a hand upon his cheek, and smiled. "Love'll hit ye randomly, won' it?" she asked again, tangling her fingertips in his hair a bit and then dropping her weight to lean into him and kiss him softly on the lips before parting to hear his answer.

*All other noises seemed to fade as Evelyn began to answer the question. Eric glanced towards her out of the corner of his eye when she seemed to be pondering it. However when her final answer rang out with such finality and he saw the warm expression upon her face he smiled brightly and his heart fluttered. He jumped and almost slipped off the palm tree when she addressed him.
He grinned sheepishly at her when she slipped her hand in his and kissed his cheek. He kissed her back, breifly on the lips and pushed a few stray curls from her face with her free hand.* Right *He said with a nod. He looked in Sams direction and smiled again, this time not out of jealousy but out of kindness. Sam was a good kid, he'd find someone someday. And as long as it wasn't Evelyn he tried to pursue Eric wouldn't care. He turned his attention back to her when she leaned into him, kissing him again. He smiled warmly and almost laughed.* That it will. It'll hit you over the head like a bloody shoe. *He winked.
Her words fit the way they fell in love perfectly. It couldn't possibly have been any more random. Hell, when they first met she had yelled at him and they had actually started out more than annoyed by one another. A smile pressed upon his lips as he remembered the first time he kissed her, hanging over the side of the ship when he knocked her over the railing simply to be an ass. He recieved a good slap from it but figured that was where it began for him. How they ended up together would always be a mystery to him. However the reasons they stayed together wouldn't be. He loved Evelyn deeply, every part of her. Even the not so flattering parts. Looking back over at Sam he truely did hope the guy would find that someday. Everyone deserved to feel what he felt for Evelyn. Nothing else on earth could compare to it.*

Evelyn smiled at him as their eyes met for a tender moment and then she allowed herself to simply lay onto him. Her cheek against his chest, her hands dropping the coconut, she wrapped her arms around his waist and squeezed tightly. The warm, bathing, glow of the sun streamed over them both and the sound of waves gently washing in made her smile. "There's no place I'd rather be Eric." She said in half a whisper, not caring at the point whether Sam was still there or not. What she wanted was to lay here, leaning face first onto Eric's large frame, eyes closed, sweet, calming breeze.
"Ye know Eric, did I ever say sorry 'bout that bloody shoe?" she asked suddenly, recalling when she had hit him over the head. "Oh tha's right..." she began slowly as she lifted her brows and squeezed him a bit playfully. "I had a bloody good reason for it." She stated teasingly. There were a lot of apologies and words unsaid between the two of them but she supposed those needn't anyone to express them. Things like that were jewels in a lover's hands. Apologetic eyes, guilty looks, all small tokens of what Eric probably wished to tell her but for some reason couldn't. She didn't care of course, she kept these all boxed and hidden away, small reminders of his secretive feelings towards her. Evelyn loved those the best anyway. The ones he didn't shout to half the world, the small things he did for her each and everyday.
Even in the middle of the night, when she would wake gasping for breath, or simply trembling his arms would close reassuringly around her and she would need no words. When Evelyn found herself wanting to shut out the world, completely turn herself away from something, she could find refuge in him, in his advice, warm spirit, and enveloping embrace. Eric was a sturdy man and the physical attraction was heavily enforced, no question. Evelyn had never seen such warm brown eyes before, and his face was a handsome one, nothing striking like the looks of Luis that had once trapped Evelyn's attention, but more of the soft, warm features a termed "good man" would bear. His embrace was something she had never felt. It could crush her if it was allowed the chance, but it tenderly instead, molded around her, carefully offering reassurance without causing any part of her to tense. Yet it was his hear that stood out. His odd nature, the small things he would say or do. The safety he gave her, the way he looked at her, the way he never allowed her to be too hard on herself, how he looked out for her with such care and love...
That was Eric for her...and she found comfort in knowing he would always be there...

*Eric didn't even notice the coconut fall to the ground as Evelyns arms slipped about his waist and her cheek rested against his chest. He smiled down at her when she said there was no place else she'd rather be. He kissed the top of her dark curls and rested his cheek atop her head for a moment.* Good, we agree on something then. *He whispered with a grin, lifting his head up to look back down at her. Sure he and Evelyn had their moments but he couldn't imagine not being by her side. Even the couple days they barely spoke had bothered him greatly. The moment they were relishing in now seemed almost too good to be true. Eric had grown to fear this feeling, for him it usually meant that it was. As if expecting her to suddenly dissapear he held her tighter into him.
He grinned boyishly and rolled his eyes when she mentioned the shoe. At the time it had really set him off, and apparently her too but now it was a running joke between them.* Still didn't have to hit me with the shoe. Yours aren't the lightest of shoes ya know. *He laughed, nodding his head towards her boots. Still to this day he found himself captivated by her appearance. All his life he had been coached by society to fall in love with a well mannered, dress and bonnet wearing woman who kept her opinions to herself and depended on him for everything. Now here he was wanting to spend the rest of his life with Evelyn who would never hesitate to speak her mind nor would she appologize if she belched or drank to much. And somehow Eric loved her for this.
She was like no woman he had ever known or would ever know and he cherished this. He had always found himself attracted to her on physical levels as well. She was small yes but she fit in his arms better that way. Her dark locks were just as untamed as her and he couldn't keep his fingers from weaving through them. Then there was her honey eyes, always alive with some kind of emotion. Evelyn was there for him in ways that no one ever had been. She was always there to help heal his pain when he thought back on his family. Something as simple as her touch or the feel of her fingers through his hair or her lips on his could take away most of his troubles. She gave him a sense of security, she was his reason to live. Waking up to her face every morning gave him the strength he needed to keep going.
Evelyn was a little odd for a woman but he wouldn't have her any other way. Suddenly the words that Sam had asked her, about if she loved him popped back into his head. He thought of her reply and smiled suddenly, pulling away only slightly to look down at her. He caressed her cheek with his hand as his gaze roamed her face before finally landing on her eyes.* Oh, and Evelyn... *He began. He pulled his lips to her ear before speaking again.* I love you, too. *He whispered. It wasn't until this moment that he realized these words often went unspoken in their relationship yet it was obvious they were always feeling them. Maybe they didn't always need to be spoken. This way, when they were said, he found them to mean something far deeper then if it had become common termonology amongst them.*

Sam dropped his head a bit as Evy answered his question. There was no doubt that she was a beautiful woman, and she seemed to be good hearted. He knew what she would say, but he felt compelled to ask it anyway. They walked back to Eric. At this point he became uncomfortable. He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand and waited for the mushy stuff to end before he spoke. He cleared his throat and then pointed to Mark.
"Don't get me wrong about Mark mates. He is a good man, with good intentions. He doesn't mean to hurt anyone...I don't think he is going to kill Sparrow. He couldn't kill me...I think that if you just spent some more time getting to know him...you'd see what I see. Perhaps he wouldn't seem so mysterious to you anymore. He's a troubled man Evy, Eric. We all have problems...he just needs a little help and support from us right now. That's all."
He patted Eric on the shoulder as a gesture of good luck. He was about to walk away when he stopped and turned around.
"You're a lucky man Eric. I believe I'll find my soul mate someday...you can never tell about these things...But if anyone needs a companion right now...it's Mark. Rhys seems to be avoiding him lately. Just remember what I said."
Sam said and then he walked off. He nodded to Mark as he passed. He knew that Mark knew that he had told Evy about him. He only hoped his friend wouldn't be ill tempered towards him. He walked back into the mob of people and began to look through the shops. He did not have a sword with him, just his pistol that he had made in the armory. He searched for a time and found one that suited him. It had a fairly long blade with a dragon inscribed on the it. The hilt was gold and had a leather wrapped handle. He placed the sheath on his belt and placed the sword in. He hoped that he wouldn't need it, but the tales he had heard proved otherwise. He noticed an odd looking man out the corner of his eye. The man wore a dark red cloak and an almost black turbin. Sam tried to loose himself in the crowd but the man was onto him. He suddenly felt a sharp pain to the left side of his head. He had been hit by an unkown person. When he woke up he couldn't figure out where he was. He could hear a shallow trickle of water in the distance . He was in a small chamber...lit by a single torch. He figured he was in a cave and he reached for his sword but it was gone. His wrists burned. His hands were tied behind his back.
"What the 'ell!?"
was all he could say before he blacked out once more.[/color]

*Tobbs yawned in obvious boredom. They'd been sailing, for oh, ever, and ever since the random "accident" on being transported into some prison cell on the ship, she'd been feeling, rather...jaded with sailing.*
*When land came in view, her eyes lit up at the prospect of possible shops to steal from, taverns to fill up on rum in, people to tackle, buildings to climb, roofs to sing on....well, maybe the last two were a bit much, but they were still possibilities. After checking herself and helping set the ship into port, she gave Jack a glance that clearly meant "if I'm not back in a few hours, start searching the streets for ranting drunk people" and headed off to find something to entertain herself with.*
*When she finally found a decent tavern to strut into, she stretched her legs nonchalantly, trying to brush the feeling of the ship off. Tobbs entered quite cheerfully, soaking in the familiar smell of the place. The dusty beams and loud, hoarse laughter were all she needed to relax. Heading for a stool, she sat herself down, ordered a good deal of rum, and entertained herself with the fellows that sat next to her.*
"Mighty fine day, is it not?"
*A grunt came from one, a rather crooked smile from the other.*
"Where ya boys from? And where in the bloody seas are we?"
'What are ye askin' so many questions for, wench?'
*Tobbs eyed the man warily, but could not be disheartened yet. She'd give him a good smacking when she was ready. Taking a rather large gulp of the already half empty mug, she turned towards the other man, who hadn't taken the smile off his face.*
"So, like I was sayin', from around 'ere, are ya?"
'Nope, just takin' time ta restock the shi-'
'Would you keep it down, ya scallywags?!'
*Tobbs blinked and turned around again to face the grunting man. He seemed rather egotistical, dirty, and distantly grumpy. She shrugged and took it as a challenge.*
"What say you to a lil' contest, mate? You win, I'll keep quiet fer as long as I'm in 'ere..."
'An' if YOU win?'
"I get the chance to walk all over...yer...precious...little...dignity..."
*She spoke while standing and circling him slowly, measuring him up with her eyes. He laughed as if he could conquer the world, and the audience the two had already gained grunted and smirked.*
"Well, if ye aren' MAN enough ta be beat by a woman..."
'Yer on wench. Winner gets 15 gold coins as well. I've got a debt I need paid....'
"Guess yer gonna 'ave to owe more than 15..."
*After they continued to banter eachother with words, they'd maneuvered to a table in the middle of the tavern. Tobbs was already almost finished with her second mug of rum, and she felt she could take a few more to make this contest a bit more...fun. The object was simple...arm wrestling while drinking rum...winner either wins at arm wrestling, or drinks the most rum. Tobbs rolled her sleeves up more and took another gulp of rum before bracing herself. Her eyes glistened. The man's gold teeth shown bright. 1...2...3!*
*Tobbs had slipped her other hand and twisted it around the one she was wrestling, putting him at a very uncomfy disadvantage, but not a win.*
'Ye cheated! Bloody wench!'
"I'm a pirate mate, expect somethin' else?"
*Soon enough he'd freed himself and was goin for both her arms to be pinned. She needed some exertion of energy since emotional drainage from the loss of the Pearl and such had happened. It was luck she could defend and protect herself...most of the times (She was sure she could handle this). Throwing the table to the side after downing some rum again, she tackled the man with a fit of laughter, and other than legs and arms occasionally being seen in the ball of dust that poofed up, it was all shouting and crashing that could be heard, and a rather broken up singing of 'a pirate's life for me' by Tobbs.*

As he mentioned her shoe not being of the lightest she slightly furrowed her brows and frowned before she looked up at him. "An' what's tha' supposed to mean? I have tiny feet mind you." She teased gently poking him in his side before she fell against him again. She lingered there for a few moments, bathing in the glorious sun's buttery rays. The soft breeze blew and a soft shuffle of palm tree leaves echoed. Her hands softly caressed Eric's back and she closed her eyes simply absorbing the beauty she now stood in, attempting to lodge this moment into her brain as clearly as possible.
She didn't need to take a glance at Eric at the moment, all she wanted was to firmly burn in her brain what it felt like to have him this close, this utterly enveloped by him. Being with Eric was more than the physical safety she felt, it was a comfort she found in no one else before, a sense of being loved to the fullest. She knew, deep down, that nothing would come her way as long as Eric was around. He had protected her from death many times before and had willingly placed his life before hers, and she in turn has done the same. There's a sense of sacrifice between them that each knew they would do anything for the other and that was a feeling not many in the world had, a calm, quiet, love, that remained constant even through the bickering.
When Eric's lips were placed near her ear and he caressed her cheek softly Evelyn smiled gently. She only squeezed him tighter at his words and gave a sigh. Evelyn and Eric never really did say things out loud too often, but she supposed that people on their level didn't need to. They voiced their opinions in other matters quite clearly really, but the care and devotion they possesed for eachother passed wordlessly.
Finally, turning her gaze to their temporary ship she noted as Tobbs headed away into a small tavern and Sam disappeared from sight. Evelyn parted from Eric slowly, unraveling her arms from around him, and instead intwined her fingers with his as she held his hand firmly in hers. She pulled him away from the coconut tree then and pulled him closer to the ocean's edge, her feet just touching the sea's gentle waves. Letting go of his hand she drifted forward, allowing herself to wade into the waters for ways, feeling the cool, blue seas to bathe over her legs, wading in until she was hip deep.
The sun now was swiftly melting into the horizon and as the wind blew her curls flew behind her. Her hand scraped the top of the sea as a small wave rolled in and she gave a small laugh. Turning her head to look over at him she smiled. "Its beautiful isn't it?" she asked lifting a brow and then turning back to gaze at the bright pink, gold, and orange hues that splashed across the skies.

Tobbs managed to shift out of the mess of people and finish the last of her rum. A sudden impact brougt her back to the ground, and she rolled her eyes when she saw it was her opponent yet again.
"Back for more, I see?"
He growled and pinned her wrists to the ground with one of his hands. She just laughed and watched the mob of people who had started fights of their own just seconds after she did. She was having quite a good time....until she felt something other than grappling going on from the man who had pinned her down.
Blinking, she frowned when he smiled rather lustfully. Spitting in his face, she kneed him right where it would definitely count and rolled him off her. Standing and dusting her hands off, she kicked him in the side quite harshly. Tobbs then winked at the bewildered bartender and waltzed her way onto the streets.
She examined her wrists as she walked into a clothing store, gritting her teeth when she saw the signs of bruises coming. After picking a new and freshly clean outfit out, she threw a few shillings at the owner and went back out to find a decent place for a bath.
"Funny lil' place this is...busied and rushed...'ow boring..."
Shrugging, Tobbs headed down onto the sandy beach, walking quite a distance until she found a quiet cove that fit. It was empty, and she felt dirty, so without much contemplation, she lay the new purchases (which included an apple that wasn't really a purchase, per say...) close to the water and stretched.
Without much effort, she disgarded the old clothing and boots she wore down by the pile of new ones and tip toed into the salty ocean water. A cut she'd received from someone at that tavern stung quite a bit, but, dismissing it, Tobbs was soon beneath the surface, relaxing in the peaceful silence as she half waited for the rum to fully kick in.

Post by Elizabeth Swann/Turner on Feb 13, 2005 17:09:24 GMT -5
Elizabeth yawned as she sleepily woke. When she realized why she'd most doubtedly had such a grand night of sleep, she sat up quickly-she must have slept in. Looking around for sign of Will and James, she grew a bit startled upon the discovery that neither was in the room.
Guessing her son was with his father, Elizabeth freshened up and dressed, combing her hair and decidedly keeping it down. When all was finished, her quest to find her family began, and it wasn't long either. Soon after she closed the cabin door, she recognized the laughter from the cabin beside theirs and guessed Puck had soemthing to do with it.
And she was right. When she stepped in, she was shocked to see the room a colorful nursery for the little one. She laughed and shook her head at Puck, sweeping the baby up as she ducked from nearly hitting into a toy ship.
"I guessed the two of you were up to no good. Now Puck, you're teaching James about pirates already? Why do I have the feeling my son'll grow up crashing British toy ships and claiming the pirates victorious? Must be something in the sea air..."
She'd grown rather fond of Puck now. He seemed to care for her child, and she felt safe leaving James with him....which was saying alot.
"Well, I'm sure James would rather stay here and have all the fun in the world with you, Puck. Would you keep him company while I go in search of Will? It would be much appreciated."
When she received a nod, she snuggled James close and kissed his forehead, setting him back upon the ground with a smile. After a final pause and wave to them both, she went up on deck in search of her husband. But, to her suprise, he wasn't there. They had landed on some island and she assumed he'd gone on shore....most of the crew had.
Elizabeth began roaming the streets in search of the crew. Mark had to know...or Sam...perhaps Eric or Emma...maybe he was with Jack? She searched for familiar faces until she caught the sight of Sam with relief. He seemed a bit worried about something, and then...she lost him in the crowd. Pushing her way through, she caught the sight of him briefly and began following....
Something wasn't right...Sam didn't look very stable....and then, to her suprise, she realized he wasn't even conscious! Biting her lip, she grabbed a small dagger from a table and hid it in her dress, following a good distance behind, hoping to bump into anyone she knew on the way for some help.
By the time she caught up with Sam and his mysterious friend, or more liekly enemy, she found ehrself in some hidden cave, or chamber-like room. She couldn't go back and find someone or Sam might be lost...and she had to at least see where they had taken him. Tip toeing into the shadows, she heard the man's voice and stepped out to get to him. She quickly recoiled when he went unconscious again, wondering what on earth to do...no one seemed present...
Without addressing the thought further, she decided to try and wake him would be the best option. Whispering as quiet but loud as she could, she hesitantly spoke up.[/i]
"....Sam....SAM....wake up...Sam....SAM..."

*Eric rolled his eyes and laughed when she poked him in the side and stated that she had small feet. He looked down at her again, a mischevious grin on his lips and a sparkle in his eye.* I know that, everything on you is small. *He laughed. She fell into him again and he ran a hand up and down her back for a moment before simply holding her into him tenderly. His eyes watched the sun dancing off the waves that seemed alive with fire. It had been moments like this that he had waited for all his life. So many horrible things had happened to them both that to have these moments with Evelyn seemed like a dream to him. They were fond memories he would take with him to the grave. Even the memories that were so fond were ones that he would never let go of, simply because she was apart of them.
In fact when the fights they had were over he never really saw them as a bad thing, no matter how bitter they had been. They were what proved how strong their love for one another was. They could have given up on it all a million times and yet they never had. He would fight to the death for Evelyn and she would do the same for him. He loved that he didn't have to guide her through every part of her life but simply be at her side as she found her own way through it.
He felt her pull away and grab his hands and he looked at her with a warm smile and gentle eyes. He allowed her to lead him to the waters edge and he paused there as she continued to wade in to her hips. The sun surrounded her in an unearthly glow. His smile grew at the sound of her laugh and as she spoke he nodded.* It is. *He said, his eyes still upon her and nothing else. He didn't need to see anything but her to know just how beautiful the world was.
After a moment he decided to wade in after her. For him the water barely came close to his waist and he grinned playfully at her. Lowering himself into the water he backswam out a little ways, the waves making it only a slightly more difficult task then it needed to be. When he was out to where the water level came to just below his shoulders he stopped and looked back at her.* You should swim, the waters nice enough. *He called, splashing water in her direction, laughing a little as he did so. Eric was still a boy in many ways, though in others he was quite clearly a man. He didn't want to be just one or the others and thus doubted that he'd really ever change. A large grin formed on his face and his eyes danced the way a boys at play would.*

Evelyn's smile grew as she heard the rippling of water behind her. Her eyes peered over her shoulder and she noted Eric wading in after her. She lifted a brow a bit as he moved past her. Swimming out a ways her eyes fell upon the sun for a moment longer before following Eric and a mischivious grin grew on her face. The cool water he splashed at her hit her in light sprinkles and she laughed again. She shook her head slightly and waded further in. "Yer bloody insane...I wanted ta bloody wade in a ways, not go for a complete submersion." She half muttered as she made her way towards him.
Going in further into the waters the water rose abruptly on her with the coming of the next wave and she cringed slightly. "Ye bloody tree! Goin' in far enough so you'd be fine but I'D have ta be the one bloody swimming." She scowled, smacking up some water his way and frowing slightly. By the time she reached him she was on the very tips of her feet and then resulted in finally swimming.
She gave a laugh. "Bloody bastard...you had this planned didn't you? Bloody tree..." she muttered and she shoved him playfully further into the ocean hoping to finally get him off his feet. "Always the lazy one...having me do all the work in the relationship...and ye know, I might be a bit small in many ways, but yer the one who still comes to me everynight." she answered proudly, giving him a beaming, brilliant grin.
A wave then came roaring their way and she submerged herself briefly, dragging Eric down with her as the wave crashed above them. In the deep indigo of the waters she pulled him close, floating, yet resisting the pull upwards. The waters around them acted as a mysterious, ethereal, surreal background as she drew Eric close, looking him over momentarily, and then drawing his face to hers. The moment was precious and she could sense the soft brush of her dark curls brushing into her as it floated about her, a net of curls stretching out into the vast darkness around them.
Then with one last smile she swam upwards, seeking the surface, the sun, and air.

*He laughed as she said she hadn't want to go in all the way and gave a bit of a shrug.* Well if you're half way in you may as well go all the way. *He chuckled. His grin didn't fade as he turned away quickly to dodge the water she smacked his way. As she bobbed in front of him, muttering that familiar look returned to his eyes. The one that showed up whenever he was trying to press her buttons. He wasn't sure why exactly but sometimes he liked to rattle her cage a bit. She was beautiful yes but he found her more exotic when she was angry. Not angry to the point of storming off but just angry enough to make it apparent.
Had what planned? I don't know what your talking about, Evy *He smiled innocently. As he stumbled backward a bit at her shove she did succeed in bringing him off his feet. His head dipped under just slightly and as he bobbed back up he laughed and rolled his eyes.* Whats your point? I don't do it anymore, now I'm always with you at night. *He grunted, splashing more water at her as she grinned triumphantly.
He heard a wave coming up from behind him and suddenly felt himself being drug under the water. When he was about to open his eyes he felt Evelyn suddenly kiss him and so he kept them closed. It was an expirience he hadn't had before and one he more than wanted to have again! There were times before when he would kiss her and all else would be silent and dark except for them, but it always just an illusion. This time however it was real. There was no sound and there was no other life nearby beneath the waters surfact, it really was just them.
When they surfaced again he smiled back at her. For a moment all he could do was stare at her, smile, and blink. Finally he swallowed and allowed a wave to push him into her just enough so that he could grab her hands beneath the water.* Now THAT I hadn't planned for, but I'm deffinantly glad you did. *He grinned crookedly.*

As Eric came up again, a soft wave pushed him forward, and he was shoved abruptly into her. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she continued to smirk. He spoke and she gave a small chuckle. "Planned..." she said with a bit of a sigh as she looked him over gently and kissed his cheek tenderly before pulling away. "Planned is a word that's never fit us Eric, luv." She half whispered. Another wave came crashing their way and Evelyn sought refuge by hiding behind Eric's form to hide from the crashing waters.
The wave rolled away and she cupped his cheek with her hand gently. All that was heard around them was the cry of gulls and the sway of the sea, it felt like they were truely somewhat alone. "You know...thinkin' back on how we first me...I mean...when we were younger, its a wonder I never thought we'd end up together. To be completely honest, yer face seemed to pop into my head many times when I was growing up. I had waited at my father's shop...and I'd even been on the verge of actually courting a good friend of mine...I was sixteen..."
As she clung to him in the waters and told him this it had hit her she had never told him any of this before. "My father thought I needed someone to look out for me, but for some reason I didn't rush into it. I felt I needed to wait for something...of course it didn't matter either way though...my father was killed about three weeks later and the pirates burned my home to the ground." Evelyn stated with a heavy sigh. "All the while...it was as if...I deep down...knew..." Her eyes trailed away from Eric and looked past him towards the horizon as she wrapped her arms around his neck and clung to him tightly.
It was then she let go slightly, her hand pulling at Eric's hand underneath the waters as she began to swim back towards the beaches.

*Eric didn't say anything but smiled to show his silent agreement at her words. It was completley true, everything about them was always so hectic and out of the blue that it was a rare occassion when they ever got moments like this to just do nothing. It was obvious that life for them would never be simple and Eric was glad it wouldn't.
As she spoke again he looked at her thoughtfully. A slight look of surprise came over his face when she mentioned that she had nearly courted a friend of hers when she was sixteen. He had figured there were other men in her life besides him, hell he had even met Luis. But somehow he was still surprised by it.
She explained more of it to him and he couldn't help but smile. So she had thought about him all that time then? He had always felt fate played a part in their being together. It had seemed so unlikely that they ever would be, considering that for nearly ten years of his life he had thought she was dead. But somehow in the end they had found one another again and here they were, standing together in the ocean beneath a blazing sunset.
As she pulled away and began swimming back towards shore he let her go ahead of him a ways.* I always thought about you too, you know. *He called after her, swimming to catch up. When he did he glanced over at her and smiled.* No matter what was happening in my life somehow I was always reminded of you. I knew there had to be a reason I couldn't get you out of my head but up until a few years ago I never knew what it was. *He stated thoughtfully, thinking back on the day they had met again on that ship with a smile. It had certainly been an interesting reunion.* And now that I think back on it...I realize I actually always knew.

As Evelyn swam on ahead her feet finally landed upon the shores. She paused slightly as Eric reached her and she pulled back a few of her soaked curls that now clung to her neck. "Ye thought about me too then?" she asked as she lifted one of her curved brows as she took a seat upon the sands at the edge of the beach, her feet in the waters as they gently rolled in and out again. Staring up at him she shaded her eyes and smiled.
"Yea, I dunno. I had even told David...er...the boy I was about to court and he was a bit concerned for a time. He used to ask me about you, if I knew where you were and why I had these thoughts of you every so often." Evelyn stared out at the horizon, mulling over all these thoughts she noted she hadn't really discussed this with Eric before and proceeded. "David always told me there might be something to it, ah...that boy loved me...I could tell. Used to hang around my house all the time." Evelyn smiled gently as she remembered him and then gave a shaky sigh. She remembered seeing his body and it was almost as painful as witnessing her father dying.
Looking back up at Eric she pat the patch of sand next to her asking him wordlessly to sit with her. "Then...when I was on the Devils' Wrath I had to cling onto whatever I could to keep me sane, y'know? I mean I loved my father, but he was gone. My mother too. Daniel as well. The sea was there...and then...there was you." Her eyes darted towards him then and she leaned her head on his shoulder. " I guess you were alwasy my only hope. I wondered sometimes when I had time to myself where you were or what you'd been doing. You were the only hope I had really, hoping to someday see you again."
The sun blazed away into the horizon and twilight was upon them. She twined her arm around his. "Funny how the world works...isn' it? Ya lose so much an' just when you think ya should give in...somethin' changes everythin'..." Evelyn's voice was gently fading into a whisper now as she turned a bit melancholic. Thinking about her parents always brought out a bit of sadness in her, but next to Eric she was able to be that way, didn't have to hide her tears or anything. And she loved him for it. A small tear crept its way towards the corner of her eye and tumbled down. She closed her eyes briefly, so much had happened to her, it was difficult not to be overwhelmed by it all. She only sniffled slightly and nudged Eric's shoulder with her cheek, watching as the red orb before her melted away, leaving behind her a veil of navy blue velvety skies...
