Rhys moved closer to the warmth next to her. She felt safe, yawning and snuggling under the blankets towards the warmth next to her. It was morning and time to get up. Her eyes fluttered open and she smiled cuddling into the man next to her.
However, a moment later, her sleepy brain woke up. She let out a small scream and scrambled away from the man. Blue eyes were still blury and she could not make out who the man was. A small knife made it's way into her hand, and she held it protectivly in front of her body. She was in a strange room, with an unidentified man, and she had no idea how she had gotten there or what could have gone on. Given her track record and history with Port Royal, she knew it had to be bad.
"Where am I?" she growled prodding the man with her foot while she tried to blink away the blur.

Mark was suddenly awakened by a small scream. He felt himself get a small kick and then spun around and found Rhys standing with a knife in front of her.
"Don't stab me! It's me! Mark! You're on a new ship of Jack's. I don't know how...but I think the strange fella has something to do with it."
He just knew he was going to buy it then...he knew he was going to get stabbed...perhaps showing his affection by sleeping next to her was a bad idea...

Blue eyes finally came into focus and Rhys found herself staring at a very familiar figure. She dropped the knife at the sound of his voice and shook her head. "I wouldn't stab you! Sorry! I just..." she trailed off. She didn't know what to tell the poor man. She had found herself in a strange room, after a horrible night. She didn't know if her past had come back to get her, or if she was being attacked by ghosts.
She needed to talk with someone, with a sigh she curled up on the bed pulling the covers tight. "Mark..." she paused, "do you truly believe in ghosts?" She had to tell someone. Someone who would believe her.

Mark watched as the woman put down the knife and sat back on the bed. At least she was willing to be near him again. He pondered a moment over her question.
"Yes luv...I do. I have seen my father and brother from time to time. Never spoke of it till now. Haven't seen my mother yet. Why?"
He was confused as to her persistence in ghosts. He reached out and held her hands in his.
"Did you see something? Is that why you were in the street like you were when I found you?"

Rhys squeezed his hand, clinging to one of the few comforts around her. She nodded slightly, red hair falling infront of her face, "I left the... the Pearl... and went to my old home... an abandoned attic, I used to stay in with my brothers. I was going to stay there last night, but when I got up there.. Ryley was there."
The red-head, shook her head slightly, closing her eyes. "He was hung several years ago. Caught stealing when we were younger. He's not supposed to be back! He's supposed to be dead!" Rhys shook her head and retreated back under the covers. "Once they leave they should stay out! It just hurts to see them again!" her voice was muffled by the blankets as she pulled away and burried herself under the covers.

Mark listened quietly and moved closer to her. He embraced her in his arms and began to speak.
"I know what you mean. You see their face and it brings back the memories...the good...and the bad. But we can't control these type of things. If I had the choice to make the ghosts of my kin leave...I don't think I would...because I try to remember all the good times we had...sure I think about the bad ones....but the good times always make me feel better....and when I see them I feel they are looking out for me you know?"
He desperately wanted to help her, but the truth was he didn't know how.

*Tobbs had set herself down on the Turner's sofa in the parlor when she suddenly was sleeping quite restlessly. She hadn't really slept well in a bit, and the whole situation had exhausted her really. So she rested lightly and troublesome as the going ons continued in the day.*
*When she awoke, she was completely bewildered. She wasn't in a parlor, much less a room. In fact, it seemed very much like a cell of a ship. Had bars, yes, and looked to be like it was in a ship, and the groanings and movements of the room was not just ehr imagination, and-well she knew what a bloody ship was like! This was definitely a ship! Unfortunately, since she had no clue Puck had brought them to this ship, (perhaps it was an accident..or mere purpose...) she had no idea how she ended up here....but she wasn't planning on staying*
*So, sitting up and checking herself for any wounds or missing weapons, or really anything out of the ordinary (other than the fact that she was sitting in a ship cell for who knows as to the reasoning), she finally blinked a few times, stood, and shook the bars, hoping she'd find some way to escape.*
*She'd been in jails and cells before and managed to easily escape, or escape nonetheless, it just required the little ounce of patience she had in her. And time. And honestly, she barely had any of the two. So, first trying to find some object to open the lock with, then trying to find an opening, then a weak spot, then if the bars were loose, then basically any means of getting out which included slamming herself against the cell door, she failed. And she was definitely frustrated beyond artful planning.*
*So, uncaring if she was captive or not, she did the one thing she thought might possibly be able to set her free. She shouted. And among the curse words tossed out so freely, she uttered the only really translatable sentence-*
"A'OY!!! JACK! WILL! EVY! RHYS! SOMEBODY! WHERE IN THE *beep* *beep* CARIBBEAN ARE YA? I'LL SLAUGHTER THE SOUL 'O DID THIS! GET ME THE BLOODY *beepity beep beep* OUT OF 'ERE!"

Rhys sighed and leaned against Mark relaxing slightly. He was right, she shouldn't be shunning her brother's ghost, she should welcome it and remember the good times she had had with him. Yet, he brought back the days of horror for her. She tensed with her thoughts and then relaxed forcing the thoughts out of her mind.
She pulled out of his arms and picked her knife up, slipping it back into it's sheath. She whispered a quiet thanks and kissed his cheek quickly. She was out of the cabin before he could even blink.
Closing the wooden door behind her, she moved down the hallway she heard her name and cussing floating up from the the opposite end of the ship. Spinning on her heal she turned and ran. Skidding to a halt in front of the jail cell, she found Tobbs sitting trying to get out. She couldn't help it. She fell over laughing. Tears ran down her cheeks as she clutched her side. She was laughing too hard to help at the moment.

She pulled away from him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She was off before he could do anything. He rubbed his cheek for a moment then smiled. He walked out into the hall and heard Rhys laughing. He moved up top and began to help with the many chores that needed to be done. He helped tighten some ropes, sweep the deck. Then he moved below decks and moved on to his specialty...guns. He checked each and every canon over. He was careful this time...didn't want to make a scene like last time. He loaded each and every canon with powder and a ball...if anything tried to stop them they would be ready. He began to poslish them since he had nothing else to do. He saw something out the corner of his eye. He drew his pistol. He could hear a faint scratching sound. It was coming his way. He pointed the pistol at the creature. It was a small grey field mouse...about three inches long. It was a very small mouse. It seemed unafraid of him. Mark bent down and picked it up and held it to his face. The mouse looked at him with happy eyes. Mark smiled and decided to keep it.
"You seem to like me little fella. Let's see...you are a boy...I'll name you Lucky. Becuase you are lucky I found you first."
Mark petted the little fellas head and placed him in his roomy vest pocket. He searched around for a container to put him in. Suddenly the mouse ran up his chest and took a place on his shoulder.
"Last I checked you weren't a parrot my little friend. But if that suits you."
The mouse seemed happy on his observation post. It stood there and looked around. Mark contintued his work and found himself talking to his new friend. He thought it odd for a moment but quickly thought it was okay.
"You see Lucky...I really like her a lot. And I think she is starting to warm up to me. I thought about asking her to dinner tonight...in my cabin or something....what do you think?"
The mouse looked at Mark for a moment and wiggled it's little nose. It made it's way to his right shoulder. He made a gesture like clapping it's hands.
"I'll take that as a yes."
Mark said happily. The two of them completed the chore of shining the canons and went back to top deck. Mark sat down under the crows nest and set a small box in front of him. He placed Lucky inside and let him run around. He got quite the laugh out of the little creature.

*Tobbs heard footsteps. She wondered if it was a guard of some type, or a crew member, or a friend of hers. Someone she knew, or someone she didn't. She should've found some means of defending herself, a sliver of wood, a chip of metal, something....but as she continued her ranting, she realized she ahd no need for it.*
*For there came in Rhys. She felt a bit of relief as she cut off her shouting. She managed a small half smile as she spoke.*
"Oi Rhys I thought I'd be-"
*She was cut off by the burst of laughter. Blinking, crossing her arms, and giving a sigh of frustration, she muttered as she watched, wondering what in the world was going on through her crew mate's head.*
*Finally, she was at her last thread. Digging ehr fingernails into her palms, she grabbed onto the bars and began shouting again. It was one of the most useful ways she really had.*
"RHYS! ARE YA BLIND MATE! IM STUCK IN A *beepity beep* OF A CELL! WHAT IN ALL *beepness* IS GOING ON? ARE YA DAFT? GAH!"
*Shaking the bars a bit, as her yells seemed to promote further laughter, she cursed and shouted, and cursed and shouted, trying to draw ehr back to attention, as well as anyone else who could hear...which could most likely be everyone on the ship and as far as Port Royale by the likes of her loudness.*
"ARE YA MAD RHYS!? GET ME OUT! MOTHER OF A *beep, beep* 'S DEAD *beep*! ANYONE! EVERYONE! SOMEONE!"
*And of course, just because she had to put the blame on him.*
"JJJJJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!"
*It probably was his fault...or Mark's...and then on and on and on she went, until basically all that was said was-*
"BLOODY *Beep beep beepness beepity beep beep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* AND REALLY REALLY BAD EGGS!"
*...just use your imagination*

As Tobbs started shouting louder and cursing more Rhys just started laughing louder and harder. After a little while, when she could laugh no more (it hurt too much) she wiped away stray tears and stood up. "Alright, alright, hold on and I'll let you out."
She turned around to look for the keys, where they had always kept them on the Pearl, yet they weren't there. "Um... Tobbs... do we know where the keys are? I mean it's a new ship... do we even have keys?" She backed away from the cell slowly waiting for the outburst.

::Puck blinked as he heard Tobbs howling like a caged tiger below decks. He tilted his head to one side and in a flash of green light was gone::
::He appeared next to Tobbs with a sort of half amused look.:: "sorry...must have gotten you mixed up a bit in the move...sorry..." ::smiling still he madeto take hold of the door and let her out::
::When his hand touched the bars he hissed and shrank away from them. His skin sizzled a few seconds and Puckl muttered angerily for a seconds before snapping his fingers and releasing her from the cel::
"Apoligizes, Miss Tobbs." He said with a smile then gestured up the hallway and up the stairs:: "Jack's above....I'm sure he's worried about you..."
::With that he bowed and reappeared in his place on deck near Evelyn and sat down again:: "I think I messed up the placement of crew members a bit..." He said with a small laugh::

::Jack heard Tobbs screaming from someplace in the haul. He looked over as Puck disappeared then reappeared a few seconds later. Turning to Will he smiled:: "Take this a moment?" He said and ran below::
::Tobbs was in a cel looking a bit confused and Jack went over to her with a sort of half smile:: "If your confused, good....because I am too...." ::Then gesturing around the general area he added:: "Seems...well...we're going to get the Pearl back...but we're safe now...so is the rest of the crew...all aboard and accounted for....I think Evelyn and her new....well...friend I guess you can call him.....got us a ship...."
::He offered her his hand to walk back on deck with him and he did, glad to see she was relatively unharmed if a bit bewildered.:: "Are ye all right, Victoria?"

Post by Eric Jackson on Nov 29, 2004 22:52:38 GMT -5
*Eric mounted the stairs and raised a brow at the look on Wills face. He followed Evelyn over to the man and then curiously peeked his head inside the babys room. He instantly frowned and glared at Puck. He couldn't help but find the thing the most annoying....thing he'd ever met in his life. He didn't even know where a creature like that would come from nor did he really care. He just wished it would go back.
He smiled proudly as Evelyn yelled at the guy but remained quiet himself. A moment later however her garb changed into a pink frilly number and Eric frowned again. This one he didnt like so much.* Bloody psycho path. *He muttered under his breath, his fists balling at his sides. When he asked Jack if the hair garden was over the top Eric scowled at him.* You think? *He barked, plucking a few of the flowers from her hair. It was funny at first but now it was just plain old.
His smile returned when the lass threw herself at Puck and an amused look swam in his dark eyes. When Jack pulled Evelyn off, Eric felt like taking the Captain out for a moment. How dare he interupt something so great!* You should of let her have a go at him, mate. He's annoying as hell. *Eric cried. When the creature made to leave Eric said nothing and hoped no one else would. His jaw dropped when it was Evy of all people who stopped him.* What the hell, Evy! *He cried trotting up to her.
He opened his mouth to speak again when all the sudden he was knocked off balance from standing upon a deck of a ship out at sea. He blinked and glanced around, his mouth still wide open. His head tipped to the side and he blinked again. He watched Evelyn run around like a kid in a candy store but he himself frowned a little. He hadn't really expected to leave land so abruptly and he didn't like being thrust back out at sea without so much as a warning. But to see how happy Evelyn was to be back on the water he replaced his smile, he would enjoy this again for her.
He cast Puck a thankful look as he rubbed his hands together and walked over to the railing himself to peer out at the water being cut by the ships hull below. The spray landed on his face and he closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them he glanced around. Much of the crew was on the deck now and when he spotted Evelyn he made to go to her, but noticed who she was talking to and changed his mind. Yes the fae had helped them with the ship but to Eric he was still annoying.
Instead he roamed the ship until he found an empty cabin. He slipped inside it and flopped down on the bed. Without meaning to he fell asleep and within moments was engulfed in a nightmare. He was a young boy again, standing in a courtyard with his mother and surrounded by dozens of other aristocratic looking people. In the center stood a man with a neck around his rope. Then he turned into a small girl with unseeing eyes, followed by a young woman with dark hair and ice blue eyes, then finally Evelyn. When the floor panel gave way Eric sat up with a cry. He swallowed and wiped the sweat from his brow with his sleeve.
He was beginning to notice that the more he and Evelyn talked about marriage and children, long term things basically, the more nightmares he was beginning to have. He knew it wasn't because he subconciously feared commitment because it was something he desperatly wanted. What he feared loosing was her, just as he had lost everyone else he ever loved. He flopped backwards into the pillow again.* You're too bloody paranoid Eric. *He whispered.* Not to mention you're talking to yourself now. *He said with an amused grunt.
Rising again he went over to the open port hole and let the cool sea breeze wash over his face and calm him.*
*Will watched the conversation between the annoying little elf thing and Jack without saying anything. Will folded his arms and leaned against the doorframe as he yawned and blinked. His attention tore away at the sounds of a group of foosteps coming up the stairs, obviously belonging to the crew.
When Evelyn questioned him he nodded his head towards James room at the two within it. He remained in his spot, still rather confused. He closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. When he opened them again he gasped at finding himself upon a ship with his wife, child, and the crew and Captain of the blown up Pearl.* Im not even going to try and understand this right now. *He grunted. Elizabeth smiled at him and squeezed his shoulder.* Thats probably for the best, dear.[/b][/color] *She laughed and he meerley grinned at her.
Then came Marks paniced voice and Wills brow raised higher. He'd forgotten all about the bloke for the time being but now that he saw him again, didn't really mind his presence. At least he UNDERSTOOD Mark. When the screams of Tobbs arose from below Will nodded at the Captain and watched him go.*

*Tobbs watched Rhys and was finally quieted down when she seemed to be looking around for the keys. When it was reported that this was a new ship they were on, and the keys were...well....somewhere, she was almost too annoyed to shout again. So, gritting her teeth and being rather obstinate, she shook the bars again, expecting them to magically move for her.*
*And then, there was that mythical being again before her. She eyed Puck suspiciously, wondering if it had been a plan of his to put her in here...when he apologized, and then again said sorry, and then, after letting her out, apologized again, she decided he might not be the suspect....so nudging Rhys a bit and keeping her arms crossed, she glanced towards the stairs, wondering where in fact Jack was.*
*And as if he was somehow summoned by her thoughts, he was standing before her, commenting on how he was confused as she was. Immediately she grew suspicious again, eying him carefully to note any kind of behavior that would give away that he had been the one responsible.*
*Listening to his explanation of the latest events and the whole story on getting on this ship with the help of Evy's friend...this strange new crewmate she'd have to find out about-she still was contemplating whether the captain deserved a good slap for being the blame for this or not. After all, while it was most likely Puck's accidental doing, Jack could always play a hand in anything...*
*Shrugging a bit, and managing to smile (just a tad, if anything), she took his hand and gestured Rhys to come too, continuing her confused yet curious gaze at the captain, wondering just how stable he really was at this point at the notion of actually getting the Pearl back (which she was rather puzzled about too) and who this new crew member was...and where was Mark in all of this...and-*
'Are ye all right, Victoria?'
*She was driven back to reality and realized she must look pretty off at the moment. Smiling a bit more, she shrugged her shoulders*
"Eh, I'll live."
*Laughing as bit as she looked back to Rhys with a bit of revenge planned for fun, she nudged Jack and stated rather knowingly and smoothly, as if plotting to coax this into the plan somehow.*
"After all, with some kind of party to commemorate yer plan of getting the Pearl back, I'm bound to be 'appy by o'.....an hour into it per'aps?"
*She was seriously in the mood for some kind of party as they sailed to find this mystery Jack was after....as much as it might not be necessary at the present time, she'd decided she thought one would be rather fun for now...*
