Mark looked over at Rhys she was coming towords him. He set his cake down on the end table.
"Of course I'll show you luv."
Mark said as he took her hand in his. He gently led her down the hall to a room across from his.
"This is where you'll be staying tonight. I have a fire lit in it so if you get to warm you can put the fire out. Sam's room is right next to yours....mine is just across the hall from it if you need either of us. Good night."
Mark said warmly. He waited till she closed the door before he left. He leaned against the door a moment and sighed. He felt something for this woman...but he didn't think she felt the same. He walked back out into the living room. Evy had concocted a new cake with the addtion of rum on top. He picked up his plate and held it out.
"Lemme try this. I'm sure it will catch on somewhere heh heh."
He tasted it...it wasn't bad....but he sure wouldn't endorse it. He ate it and set the plate down.
"Slave over a damned stove all day and it's all gone in 30 seconds heh heh."
Mark could feel a slight tention between Sam and Eric that he hoped wouldn't break any time soon. He tossed another log on the fire.
"I hope this rain lets up soon."
He said almost to himself.

*Eric glanced over at Mark as he asked Evelyn when the two of them would be settling down in Port Royal. He grunted and laughed. Anyone who knew the woman even the slightest bit would at least know she'd die a thousand deaths before settling down on land. That was the whole reason Eric joined the Pearl in the first place.
And then Sam addressed him. Erics brow raised and he pondered an answer to the question. It wasn't really Sam he had been mad at, it was his own insecurities making him act that way. But Evelyn had put them at ease somewhat and so he smiled.* I know it's the truth...and no I'm not upset with ya Sam. *He said, reaching out and slapping the lad on the shoulder.
As Mark offered them all some cake Eric shook his head. For one thing he was full, for another he had never been much of a cake person.* I think I'll pass mate but thanks. *He said, laughing and rolling his eyes as Evelyn doused her own in rum, swearing it would be all the rage.* I'm sure it will be. *He grunted.
When she mentioned that HE had a home here he shook his head and interupted her.* No, I dont. But we do. *He said with a nod and then he grinned a little, his eyes sparkled.* You just gotta face the facts now, Evy. You have a house that doesn't move. Just gotta come to terms with that. *He chuckled.

::Jack sauntered in a bit late. Well....he figured everyone would show up when they wanted too. He knocked once and walked into Mark's home looking around silently a moment before grinning::
"Sorry I'm late, mate. Did I miss anything?"

Evelyn looked to Eric as he spoke to her and she shook her head. "Nope..that house if YOUR bloody house mate. Plain and simple." Evelyn stated with a bit of a smrik, finishing her cake and then heading off towards the windows. Her honey eyes scanned the streets and she sighed heavily. "They're STILL not here..." she replied softly as streams of rainwater ran down the window panes gently. "I'm about ta jus' head out there ta find each an' everyone of them if I have ta." Evelyn looked over her shoulder at Eric and then turned back towards the streets.
Evelyn bit down at her bottom lip a bit, crossed her arms, and drummed her fingers lightly upon it. Suddenly, Evelyn felt a bit tired and her eyelids drooped. She felt her head leaning in towards the wall and she blinked and suddenly shook herself awake again. She supposed it was a mixture of the warmth in the home, the full stomach, and the rather taxing day that was finally wearing at her.
It had been rather quieter than most, which was a bit odd for Evelyn, that is besides the chase by the Royal Navy a bit earlier that day. She glanced outside again and could make out a figure coming their way and she narrowed her eyes. It almost looked like the Captain but she could never be too sure in this weather.
Instead Evelyn turned her eyes to the door and awaited it to open, hoping it indeed was him. That way perhaps he could tell them exactly where they were headed to next and could give the word that she was finally able to sleep. Evelyn often found herself not allowing herself to sleep around the crew unless one of the others had hit the hay. It was a sense of duty she supposed that kept her awake, and she always prided herself in keeping that up.
Then, with the small click of a door handle, the Captain made his way inside, sopping wet from head to toe and she smirked.

::Jack smiled, clearly ignoring the fact that he was rather damp in apperance::
"A fine storm, eh?" He laughed and eyed those in the room who were staring at him. He smiled utterly shameless and then walked over to Evelyn and gestured around the room::
"Nice dinner, eh?" he asked. Jack seemed happy enough to just be around people he knew right now, and pretty much was behaving himself, for once.::
::He spotted Mark and gave the man a wide smile:: "Hello." ::Jack was still wary to say the least, never knew how Mark felt about the last little trip Jack had pulled him into. So he didn't push too many buttons just yet::

Rick poked his head in through the door of Mark's house.Scanning around,he was surprised to find no sign of Emma.A long-suffering sigh escaped the man,and he turned."I'll be back in a little while,mates..."
Closing the door behind him,Rick walked back out into the driving rain, pulling his coat around him for what good it did.Sometimes it did more good from the comfort of his father's memory, from the warm scent that somehow reminded him of the old captain, than from actually blocking out the rain.
Turning the corner,Rick heard snatches of song, and a small smirk flickered across his full lips.Yes,he had found here...just where he thought she would be...
Emma had an arm around someone's shoulders-total stranger, mind, but they were drinking together,so for the time being they were friends!Or something like that.It was all kind of fuzzy,really..."Again!"She called out to the people of the bar, swinging her free hand vaguely in time with the song.It was one the stranger on her left side had taught her, and, mostly due to her state of inebriation, she was quite taken with it.
"Emma?"
"Mmm?"
"God above,'ow many drinks did ye have, lass?Y'know Jack told us t'behave..."
Emma focused her eyes on the raven-haired,rather soggy sailor who was looking down at her sternly, and pouted."I 'ave been good!'Aven' started any fights,'r burned anythin',or stolen anythin'..."
At this, those members of the bar's citizenry who spent their days with the Navy began murmurning amongst themselves.Something about familiar faces and wanted posters.Rick gulped quietly, then took Emma by the arm, pulling her gently towards the door.
"C'mon,Em.We've got friends waitin',and good food,and a nice,warm bed..."
With one last wave to the men of the bar,Emma let herself be led away. She pouted at Rick as they walked towards Mark's house."Couldn' y've let me stay a bit longer?"
He shook his head."Nah...y've got t'eat an' sleep,an' passin' out drunk doesn' count..."Wrapping an arm around her and drawing her into the warmth of the old coat,he smiled."B'sides,if I don' keep an eye on ye,I might lose ye again...an' I couldn' stand that,Em..."He pressed his lips against her temple briefly, since there was no one around to see and hence no reason for Emma to protest his display of affection.Together, they entered the house again, drenched to the bone but feeling warm all the same.

Mark let out a slight laugh when Eric called his home "Their Home." He thought it was funny how Eric seemed ready to settle down and such, while Evy didn't want to even consider it. Suddenly the Captain came in. Mark stood up quickly and looked at the man. He was lookin rather sorry. He was dripping wet. Mark walked over to him with a smile. He snatched his arm and took him over to the fire.
"Good ta see you Captain. I was begginning to think you wouldn't come. Sit down and dry off you ol' dog."
Mark said as he sat the Captain down. He went to the kitchen and came back with a gift for the Captain.
"I remembered how much you loved this stuff. Our own Evy placed it on cake and it tasted pretty good. It's the drink of many uses."
Mark said as he presented Jack with a large jug of Rum. He sat it down on the table with a loud thud. He pulled out some shot glasses from a nearby cabinet.
"I think it is time for a toast. Jack would you do the honors?"
Mark said as he poured a bit of Rum into the shot glasses. He handed one to each person.

::Jack's eyes lit up at the sight of the rum and nodded to the toast idea. He thought a bit then said rather sheepishly::
"Well....don' know much about rum toasts...cept rum's good for drinking. But....let's see...To the Turner baby, James. An....a new horizon?" He said questioningly looking for approval and downed his shot glass of rum::

Mark grinned at the toast.
"To the James...and new horizons."
Mark sucked down the shot of Rum. He slammed his shot down on the table. Suddenly there was a loud BOOM! there was a slight rummble in the ground. He peered out the window to see a giant fireball shoot up into the air. His eyes grew wide.
"WHAT THE BLOODY 'ELL WAS THAT! Look at all the fire!"
Mark exclaimed. His mouth was hanging open and he was trying to figure out exactly where it came from.
Sam stood up quickly and looked out the window in awe.
"Hey Captain Jack isn't that where your....uh...where your boat...I mean ship....is parked mate?"
Sam pointed out.
Suddenly a fire wagon came blasting past the house....well not blasting for the road was quite muddy. Mark ran outside and stood in the rain. all he could say was:
"Whoa."

Rhys had curled herself up on the floor in front of the fire with a blanket. Fire made her feel safe and warm. It was one of the few constants she had had throughout the years. Something that was hard to come by while living on the street, yet something that always brought protection when found. She had lived for fire and on the Pearl there was no fire, it was too dangerous and in general just a stupid idea.
Laying, watching the dancing flames, she started thinking. She was sure she was hearing things and seeing things. She could have sworn she had seen... him... And Mark... one of the few people she felt she was like her and she could get close to, his words earlier. She still didn't know what to say or do. But here, in front of the twisting and cackling fire she was able to clear her mind and begin to sort things out.
The floor/bed she had choosen shook slightly and a loud boom was heard. It was as if thunder had struck and shaken the world. Only this was no thunder. She shot to her feet and quickly made her way out of the room, shivering slightly at the lack of warmth from abandoning the fire. She came to the room the crew had gathered in and looked around curiously for anyone who knew what was going on.
Shrugging it off, she went off to find out on her own. She ran out the door and past Mark, her eyes and ears carrying her in the direction of the fire and the docks. She couldn't tell why, but she knew for some reason that she had to get there.

Mark watched the flames for a moment when all of the sudden Rhys bolted by. He reached out to grab her but she was gone. He ran after her. He quickly overpowered her and ran along side her. They were soaked and the mud made squishy sounds as they ran.
"Where are you going? It's dangerous down there Rhys!"
He yelled out. She ignored him and they ran till they got to the docks. It was the Pearl.

Rhys skidded to a halt at the edge of the dock. The burning and charred remains of the Pearl causing her to let out a small squeak. She heard Mark come to a halt behind her, but it didn't function. The only sigh she gave that she even noticed he was there was a slight unconcious reaching out for his hand. She held on to him for dear life unknowingly.
Her eyes lost any spark that they had contained as they stared at the flaming remains of the Pearl. It had been he home when she had no home. It had carried her places she had never imagined. As much as she doubted her right to be on the ship she still loved it and hadn't wanted anything to happen to it. The ship was there for her.
Without the Pearl she was stranded in Port Royal. She was left at the mercy of those of her previous life. As the thought hit her, she turned pale and her grip on Mark tightened. For once in a very long time, she was scared. Scared for her life and scared for that which was to come.

::Jack looked up at the sound. Then began running. Running for all he was worth, out the door, past the crew, past anyone who might try and stop him, and he skidded to a halt on the docks. The Black Pearl. :::
::No...No....no no no.....:::
::His ship. His home.... was going up in flames. He stared, unable to register what was happening so far. He knew he had to stop it. He had too. Jack leapt for the docks in a fit of desperation if it was anything. He climbed the riggings, ignoring the flames. He stood near the wheel, with flames drawing closer. The haul itself, the entire deck had been ripped open::
::The ship was literally blown in two. Jack's eyes widened from the shock of it. Not sure what to do, nor how to react. He stared::
:: He gripped the wheel of the ship, then dove past the flames to his cabin. He had to save things....if he could he'd try and save them. He looked around in his cabin where the sparks were beginning to eat away at the walls::
::He picked his old chest, and holding it firmly, tossed it into the water. Then he went back for some other things. The rooms below his were the crews. He ran wildly into the rooms grabbing handfuls of things at random and tossing them into the water. If the ship hadn't been burning up around him he might have looked funny.
::It was on the fourth trip that Jack's eyes saw the water beginning to fill the lower cabins...he wasn't sure if he could make it there...then another thought slipped into his head::
::The gunpowder. Below him. The thought cleared in his mind when the second explosion ripped what was left of the ship to shreads::
::Everything went rushing outwards past him. The remainder of the deck heaved out, and ripped open. Jack felt his feet give way, and he was thrown into the air. ::
::Jack hit the water with a impact that nearly knocked him out. He bobbed in the water, clinging to a piece of his ship. He ran his hands over the surface of the wood, and oddly enough, recognized what it was. Part of the wheel. Jack stared at the flames, and the wreakage that burned away in the water. The sails were tattered and smoldering......the frame looked like a skeleton.......::
::His home was gone.....his life....everything was gone.....His last thought, before he finally allowed merciful blackness to take him was one hell bent on revenge. Revenge and the over powering desire to spill the blood of whomever was responsible for this crime:::
::Jack's hands convulsivly tightened around the Captain's wheel of his precious ship, and gripped until the splintered wood made his hands bleed:::#nosmileys

*Eric glanced over at Jack as he entered Marks home and he grunted a little and gave a nod in the Captains direction. He figured now that the Captain was here the crew would be quick to follow. When Evelyn stated that the rest of them still hadn't shown up he grinned a little. He adored the crew but honestly didn't really care if they came to the dinner or not. He just figured they were out occupying themselves in other ways, probably to the dismay of the Port Royal citizens!
After a while he noticed she was about to drop off to sleep right there and he grinned a little. The days events had him a bit worn out too and after the meal and with the surroundings he too was growing more so. But unlike her, he managed to keep his head upright. He glanced towards the couch and nodded his head towards it.* Why don't you lay down for a bit, Evy? *He asked, walking over to her.
He pushed a bit of her hair behind her shoulder and then glanced behind him as Emma and Rick entered the home. He wondered if the man had popped the question yet but noticed that the womans finger was bare, and he doubted the right moment would come up in Port Royal anyways. But he smiled at them none the less. He took the shot from mark and downed it quicly after the toast was announced.
Suddenly there was a boom and a rumble followed by a fireball in the docks. Eric blinked and glanced at the window, blinking again.* Either that was real or this drink went STRAIGHT to my head. *He said rather confused. And then he realized what it was and he gasped, though for some odd reason the ship wasn't his biggest worry. It was the drawing he had made for Evelyn for her birthday, it was gone. As was everything else and he frowned.* My God *He said softly, shaking his head.
One by one the crew began to flood from the home and Eric followed, running swiftly no longer noticing the rain. He felt bad enough about the whole situation, he couldn't even begin to imagine how the "true" crew felt about it all...and then there was Jack who had just taken off into the flames.*

*Will and Elizabeth swiftly ran to their home as the rain began to pour down. The baby was still young and they didn't want him out in this kind of weather, not for any reason. If the crew wanted to visit him further they could always come to the mansion. Elizabeth tucked the child neatly in his crib and both parents smiled fondly down at him.* He really does look like you, Will.[/color] *She said softly, looping her arm through his.
Will smiled a little and nodded, stroking the boys dark curly hair. He laughed a little and shook his head. James was doomed from the beginning, only time would tell what insanity he would possess. Lord knows he'd be lacking in rationality! With a heavy sigh the two walked from the room and threw on their coats.* Well I guess we're off then! *Will exclaimed as they left the home and slipped out into the cool, wet night. He sheltered Elizabeth as best he could.
They were nearly past the docks when suddenly there was a loud explosion that lit the sky as if it were noon. Elizabeth knelt down and covered her head and Will pulled her close to him, sheilding her with his body as he watched in horror as the Pearl burned in the docks. He couldn't believe his eyes. A few moments later the crew and Jack rushed past them and he bolted towards them.
He remained on the docks as jack entered the flames and watched anxiously for the captains return. And the man called him an idiot? When he saw Jacks form bobbing in the water he didn't hesitate. He dove into the water and swam towards him, prying the wheel from his hands (which took a bit of strength)* Wake up, Jack! *He called as he swam ashore. He enlisted the help of a couple crewmembers to get the man back up on the docks and he knelt over him.* JACK! *He hollared loudly in the mans ear.*
