She looked to Eric and smiled and then furrowed her brows. "I...tha's jus' so odd...I'm startin' ta remember it now..." Evelyn smirked remembering how she had seen him in the rain. Evelyn remembered how even THEN he had scolded her for gnawing at her fingernails and how she had snapped back at him. "Even THEN ye couldn' stand my bad habits..." She chuckled lightly and gave Eric a warm squeeze, taking a deep breath as she held him tightly.
"An' ye know...you weren' the only one who enjoyed that day mate. I had lost my mother barely a few years prior so...that was a good time fer me too." She told him with a sigh as she took the paper in her hands and then walked towards their nightstand. For now, sadly, all she could do was place the drawing beside her bed. Her fingers traced over the drawing delicately and she smiled. "Thank you Eric..." she smiled and turned on her heel. "Fer...fer everythin'...really. Sometimes I jus' dunno if ye really understand what it means ta me...all the things ye do...how ye put up with my bloody temper..." she laughed, shrugging her shoulders a bit and then approaching him slowly.
Her hands rested on his cheeks gently and she leaned up and kissed him softly before the kiss turned rather passionate. She pulled him close and almost lost herself in the moment but then she parted from him and lowered her head. "Erm...right then." she said a bit awkwardly, offering him a smile, caressing his cheek again, and then making to leave towards the decks again.
Evelyn had stopped herself for a reason. She knew if she allowed herself to go any further she might not have been able to stop herself, but she hated doing this to him. She could sense he wanted more of her at times and she couldn't help but feel guilty for not complying, she wanted it too of course...it just...her thoughts still seeped into her mind and they would ferment there, finally causing her to stop.
Instead Evelyn headed back up on deck and back to work. It would help take her mind off things and for once...she almost WANTED to get to Port Royale already...perhaps there her mind would become distracted enough to keep her from dark memories that constantly stirred in the abyss of her mind...

*Eric laughed and shrugged a little as she squeezed him.* Im sorry its just annoying. You made fun of me about rubbing my neck so I guess we're even. *he grunted. That night had meant a lot to him when he was younger, he didn't know how it could have taken him so long to put two and two together.
He smiled a little, glad to hear she had enjoyed the day. He certainly did, her company had made him a lot happier during that difficult time. As she put the drawing aside and thanked him his smile grew and his eyes danced with warmth.* All the things you do mean the world to me, too. You ARE the reason I'm happy. *He said, watching her slow approach with a grin. He couldn't help but give her a mischevious look, what with her coming towards him all slow like and then kissing him the way she did.
His arms slipped about her waist as the kiss deepend and he practically melted into her when she parted again, lowering her head. He looked down at her, brushing her cheek with the back of his hand and then running it through her hair. He hated to stop when a moment was clearly there but he understood.
He didn't say anything as she walked away from him and made towards the deck again. He watched her go and then flopped backwards with a bit of a groan, staring up at the ceiling. SOMEDAY that moment would come, and when it did he knew it was going to be damn good. This thought made him grin and he laughed at himself, shaking his head. He sat up slowly and trotted back up on the decks as a sigh escaped his lips.*

*The past year had been rather, interesting for lack of a better word for Will and Elizabeth. Both had acted like the overly excited new parents and on the day of the baby's delievery Will turned into the typical father with that "deer in the headlights look" as the screaming bundle of joy came into the world.
He and Elizabeth were both honestly surprised he didn't faint. Being a father hadn't truely hit him until the first time he held his son in his arms. The babys brown eyes met his and thats all it took to turn Will into an idiot, or a bigger one rather.
At the slightest cough or wimper he and Elizabeth were right there with Governor Swann rolling his eyes all the while. And Jack had been right. The child cried at night like there was no tomorrow, sometimes Will honestly thought there wouldn't be a tomorrow at the lack of sleep he and his wife were getting.
But once the screaming and crying, pooping and stinking stopped on the rare ocassion they both knew that it was worth it all.
Will woke early that moring and went into his sons nursery, hovering over the crib and staring warmly down at the sleeping little boy. The baby yawned and fidgeted but didn't wake. Will smiled and stroked the babys dark hair when suddenly there was a knock at the downstairs door which woke the boy.
Will scooped him up and wrapped him in a blanket then trotted downstairs, smiling as Sarah appeared in the doorway.* Good morning, Sarah! *He exclaimed, noting her excitment and he looked at her curiously. Elizabeth came up behind him and smiled brightly, reaching out and hugging her old friend.* Sarah! Have you eaten yet? There's still some tea and biscuits left if you'd like some.[/color] *She said happily, taking the baby from Wills arms.*

::Jack eyed his crew as they woke up and smiled::" Just get ready to dock...we're almost there...."
::and of course anyone could see that. Jack could see people moving on the docks, see the details of the other ships there......and if he stared hard enough he could see the governer's mansion::
::He smiled and then left Tobbs to guide the ship as he pulled down the jolly roger flag from the mast and folded the flag up carefully. No need to let the people in the sleepy port think they were about to be sacked. No....he was here to visit..nothing more:::

Sleep was a long way off, and her thoughts were only making it harder. It had been nearly a year since she had chosen, since she had made the fateful decision, there was no use dwelling over it now. Groaning, she rolled to her feet, taking comfort from the feel of the weathered wood under her barefeet. A storm was brewing outside and she could hear a distant roar of thunder.
She knew they would be reaching the port soon, they would need help brining the boat in. She was tired, but there was no sleeping. So instead, she decided to go up and help out. She slowly made her way up on deck. Once there she looked around, it had been a fairly long time since she had been up to see any of her old friends on the Pearl. She had hardly talked to anyone after she fell into a depression over her brother, Avery.
She quickly made her way to the side of the boat to wait until they got closer to help pull in sails. Her eyes landed on the outline of Port Royal, it made her stomach drop. "Gods, I hate that town," she muttered, glaring at it.

* Maria rose herself from her position on the floor as Port Royal drew closer and closer. She squeezed her fingers and glanced down at them, making sure the bandages were tightly wrapped. Indeed they were because she could feel her fingers beggining to numb. She would move one of her didgits ever so often to keep them from numbing enitrely.*

Mark leaned over to ask something to Sam when he noticed the poor sap was asleep.
"Hey Sam go te-- heh heh. Poor sap, musta been another long day."
He said with a grin. The Pearl grew bigger and bigger. He was beggining to get mixed feelings again. He was going to invite the whole crew to his house for dinner, he'd hoped they would all come since they all had so much to catch up on, though he figured they're year was far more exciting than his. He propped his feet up on a crate and waited on the dock of the only open bay for the Pearl to dock in. He knew they would have to park it there, this way they couldn't miss him. He waited and waited still more. He began to whittle a small piece of drft wood. He was carving a dagger looking thing. He quickly finished that and tossed it in the water. Boredom struck him again. That was the only thing about himself he hated. He always had to be doing something. He got bored easily.

Evelyn looked about the decks and she went again to re-check all of the same knots she had double checked just a few minutes before. The makshift teal bandage wrapping her thumb was spotted with a crimson liquid. She bit her lip a bit, attempting to check and retie knots with a cut thumb wasn't the best of things to do but she shrugged it off. The ship rocked as the waters grew choppier and she instinctively bent her knees to keep herself standing, and a hand grabbed onto the wooden mast as the Pearl tackled a wave.
"Bloody 'ell...this doesn' look too good..." Evelyn began softly, looking around and speaking to no one in particular. The decks were spotted with various members of the crew. Emma was immediately spottable because of her auburn locks that swayed in the wind. Jack was about doing his own thing...Evelyn lifted a brow at him and gave the smallest hint of a smirk, that Captain of theirs was indeed an odd one...Tobbs was discernible through her rather immaculate clothing and the way she proudly stood about. Tobbs had been Captain for another crew as well and Evelyn supposed it was for that reason that Tobbs had always given off an air of pride...
Evelyn continued with her work and her thoughts briefly turned to Eric and she furrowed her brows attempting to shake them out by simply working until she forgot the matter. Why had she held back so much? Why had she hesitated so many times when the feeling was so right? She knew she cared of rhim, more than anything really...but why?
It frustrated her and she tied the knots once again with a sort of frenzy. It was almost strange to see Evelyn sit upon a barrel and tie and re-tie the same piece of rope. The Port loomed closer and the clouds began darkening and rolling in. There was an ominous feeling in the air, a foreboding of things to come and the feeling wasn't a pleasant one...

*Eric headed towards a mop and bucket as he glanced over at Evelyn who kept tying and retying the same knot. He cocked a brow but kept walking. When he reached the bucket the Pearl caught a wave and he stumbled a bit. It was apparent he had been a land lubber nearly all his life, his legs were still the most off balanced out of the entire crew. He was easy to spot amongst them during a storm seeing as to how he was usually the one one wobbling about and falling down.
He glanced back up at the sky as it began to darken. He felt a cold chill run down his spine and his brow furrowed. Port Royal was a generally calm, mild mannered place so why did he have such a bad feeling about staying there? He shrugged it off, and decided that mopping the decks right now would probably only convince the rain to come faster.
So instead he gathered up loose odd and in objects sitting around the deck and put them away or set them aside. He chewed his lip all the while, not able to stop the thought that was weighing so heavily on his mind now. He wondered if Evelyn would ever get any closer to him then she was now, he was beginning to think she wouldn't. Maybe not by her own choice...maybe it was just because she couldn't...maybe her past had scarred her more then he thought. He glanced over at her sympathetically and with a sigh got back to work.
The docks were so close now he could make out the clothing and voices of the people upon it, bustling about. He walked over to the edge of the railing to see if he could spot any familiar faces, primarily Elinors. If he saw her, he wasn't getting off of the ship. He did however think he spotted Mark, which greatly surprised him. He figured after all that happened with the guy last journey he wouldn't give a rats arse if they were in Port Royal or not.*

The wind picked up now and her brown curls whipped about her face a bit painfully. The hair lashed against her face and she brushed it away with her bandaged hand. "Gah...jus' what we need..." Evelyn grunted as she finally looked down at her hands. They were raw and red and she sighed heavily knowing she was simply working herself away. Evelyn had a tendancy to go on in her work without stopping for hours on end if it helped her get through it. There had been times when Eric had barked at her a bit angrily to simply leave it all, but she noticed that he was beginning to see the work as an escape for her and generally only yelled at her to stop when it drove him a bit nuts and she was simply injuring herself, something she was doing at the moment.
She saved herself the yelling and bit her lip and rolled her eyes as if sensing Eric's eyes boring into her back. She dropped the bit of rope from her hands and then stood and walked towards Eric's side as he leaned against the Pearl. "Doesn' look like I'll be havin' an uneventful birthday tamorrow..." Evelyn said with a heavy sigh and flicking a few curls from her face as they swung in front of her. As she finished her sentence she wasn't exactly sure what she meant by it. Perhaps on the surface she meant the weather but deep down she felt other things would be taking place as well.
She slid a bit closer to him and hooked her arm with his and offered a small smirk. "Jus' makin' sure if we hit any sudden waves ye don' go flyin' all over the bloody deck..." Evelyn mused, nudging him a bit and then hooking her hand in his.

*Eric glanced over at Evelyn as she approached him, leaning next to him on the railing and he smiled at her, at least glad to see she was taking a break from working herself to death. It bothered him that she did that, even if he did know why. He just wished she could invest her thoughts into something less...strenuous.
He laughed a little as she commented about her birthday.* You're probably right on that one. *He grinned, giving her a slight nudge. Of course in all honesty no day with Evelyn or the rest of the crew was exactly uneventful. There always seemed to be something going on, even if it wasn't always exactly dangerous. However at the same time her words made him inwardly frown.
As she slipped her arm through his and grabbed his hand he glanced down at her, an amused grin spreading across his lips. He rolled his eyes and chuckled a bit.* You know the real reason is you just can't not touch me. *He winked.*

::Jack finished folding the flag up and put it in his cabin. He took a small package from the chest inside his cabin and made his way over to Evelyn. Jack wasn' exactly the most...what was the word....compassionate of people..but Evelyn had been a part of his crew for a while...and he knew her birthday had either passed or was coming up...he wasn't sure::
::In any case he walked up to her holding the small package in his hand and handed it to her without too much preamble:: "I think....its yer birthday.....so...here ye go...." He didn't say much, and didn't want to draw attention to it in case she'd not wanted it known::
::Inside was a dagger. It was a thing of real beauty, and real danger. The blade was sharp enough to split a hair in half. It was polished brightly, and had a few sea green gems along the handle. The blade had a wave pattern up it's sides. It also came with it's own scabbard and leather tong to tie to her belt if she wanted too::
::Jack was back among the ropes and working silently. He was never good with giving gifts of any sort. So he stayed silent, humming as he worked::

Her honeyed eyes looked around the choppy seas as Eric spoke. "Can't no touch ye...really?" Evelyn asked slipping her hand away from his and slowly sliding further away. "Would ye care ta test tha'? Because like I said Eric...I was fine withou' ye...an' if ye wanna see exactly how I can live without touchin' ye then...I'll be happy ta show ye." Evelyn told him with a small laugh and a smirk. It was then Jack had approached her and Evelyn lifted her brows. She hadn't expected anyone else to remember her birthday really, especially him. I mean the crew was quite close no doubt, but for him to take note of her birthday was just odd.
"Jack?" she asked lifting a curved brow and looking him over curiously. He said a few simple words...something rather odd for this Captain and Evelyn looked him over a bit suspiciously before she was handed a small package. Her honeyed eyes turned to look at the package. Soon he turned to leave and Evelyn furrowed her brows, turning around and then taking a seat upon a barrel. Her eyes shifted a bit, making sure none but perhaps Eric was watching. Then, slolwy, she opened the package, ripping away at the bit of paper and then found the dagger within. Her jaw dropped slightly at the sight of the gift and she smiled.
"Well...this is certainly somethin'..." Evelyn said softly, tracing over the jewels and the wave pattern. Looking up from where she was seated she spotted her Captain working away silently. He clearly wasn't too sure about how to go about giving people gifts or what to say so she decided she'd do her part to show him how its done, or...at least how SHE thought it was done.
Evelyn handed the blade to Eric to hold and she made her way towards Jack. "Hey Cap'n!" she called out to him. When she had caught his eye she gave a small smirk. "Thanks mate...really. Didn' think ye'd remember actually. But thanks." The smirk slowly stretched into a smile and she gave a small nod. She wanted to show her thanks a bit more, perhaps a small shake of the hand, or even a hug would be appropriate but among the watchful eyes of the crew she doubted it would be something Jack would want.
With that Evelyn left his side, clearing her throat a bit and then going back to Eric's side.

::Jack looked up at Evelyn with a small smile.:: "Aye...well...only comes once a year." he said with a nod. He was glad she enjoyed the gift. Wasn't exactly the most....lady like of gives, but then again it was more practical, given the line of work they were in::
::As the Pearl slowly moved into port Jack's attention was drawn once more to the harbor and the people on it. He thought he caught a familar face or two and smirked::
::Black sails were hard to miss after all.:::

Sarah smiled when Will and Elizabeth answered the door. Oh I haven't eaten yet, but let me fix you two something. Then I can hold the baby while you eat. Sarah smiled, they both looked exhausted. She walked in and began making breakfast.
You know I didn't come just to make breakfast for you. Sarah smiled yet again at the thought of Jack and his crew. Today I them...the black sails...Jack's back! She stopped cooking breakfast and turned to face Will and Elizabeth. Do you think he just wanted to see the baby, or do you think he has another voyage for us to go on? I hope it's a voyage, not that it would be bad to watch another group of people swoon over that little rascal. Sarah made a face, she had spent a lot of her days watching people do that for hours.
I need to get some food soon, when I go to town I'll visit the docks. Would you two...err...three like to accompany me?!
