Selina walked along the jungles, heading swiftly to camp with Michael next to her and she peered around. "BARBOSSA!!" Selina called out loudly as she left Michael's side briefly. Her body ached from the scuffle with Tobbs just a few moments earlier and she was still pretty battered from it all. The side of her head began to pulse and turn rather purple.
"He isn't here..." Selina began slowly as her green eyes passed over it all. She passed over some of the grounds, kicking at the small fire that some of the crew had ATTEMPTED to get going. "He's NOT bloody HERE!" Selina screamed in utter frustration, kicking up a few fiery embers. Her eye looked over them as they faded. She shook her head. "He will NOT be rid of me that easily." Selina huffed as she turned to Michael. "He's heading to El Dorado with that EVELYN woman...she knows where it is, and he's hoping to CHEAT us out of the gold, Michael." Selina had added his name in the end to sort of verify that she was indeed talking to another human instead of babbling on mindlessly.
Selina placed her hands upon her hips and looked off into the distance. Looking over the ground carefully she expected to see something that would tell them the way he had left in, Selina would be damned if he would cheat her out of an entire CITY of gold.
Looking to Michael, Selina lifted a brow and approached him slowly. "Michael...are you certain you are alright?" she asked as she gently placed a hand upon his face and looked at him with concern. "If you wish we can rest for a moment or two..." Selina suggested with a bit of a frown. This was all going wrong, and Barbossa had taken off too quickly...

((OOC: Bossa's given me permission of using the good ol' Captain...*cackles* Dunno if that was ALL that wise Bossa...*winks*))
Barbossa breathed in heavily and sharply as they trudged through the jungles that were now blanketed with a thick blanket of darkness. The jungle's voice was slowly fading to a murmer of bugs and various birds which were slowly lulling the lucious emerald forest to sleep. Barbossa hd pressed on even beyond his own body's will but now, in this darkness, he couldn't even see.
"GAH!" He half grolwed half groaned as he flopped Evelyn from off of his shoulder, plopping her on the ground. "We can' press on like this much longer tanigh'..." Barbossa said, attempting to catch his breath. "If ye could ONLY bloody WALK!" The Captain barked at Eve, looking her over and then leaning against a tree.
He was exhausted from carrying her all this way, that teamed with the distance, the slow incline of the jungle floor, the uncomfortable heat, AND the darkness and it was a combination able to slow even the most determined of parties down.
"Well ye should 'ave thought o' THAT before ye bloody BROKE my ankle!" Evelyn shouted back at him, quickly taking this time to try and tend to it. Evelyn had many things to occupy her mind throughout this whole trek through the jungles, the Crew for one thing. She hoped no one else was hurt, that Will was safe and that his beloved Elizabeth was untouched.
The last thing Evelyn wanted at this point was for her to be the reason of splitting up another loving couple. Tobbs, she knew the woman was bloody determined...a bit TOO determined at times and she prayed nothing had happened to her. Tobbs had been her closest friend on Jack's ship for the last few months now and she wasn't ready to lose her companionship.
As these thoughts raced through her mind she frantically ripped a bit from her sash and wrapped her ankle, however unproffessionally, and tried setting it so there would be minimal movement. At this point the ankle was dirty, stinging, and a dull constant pain shot up her leg and a new burst of it would shock through her body whenever the damned thing moved at all, prompting an almost permanent grimace to rest upon Evelyn's face.
Jack...she hoped the Captain was alright. She had left Jack the only copy of the map, remembering now the small moment when she had passed the map over to the Captain with the words, "Stick to the Code if anything..." accompanying it. Evelyn KNEW something of this sort might occur, and she had specifically told Jack to simply leave her behind if she were to perish in this seemingly futile attempt. Besides...the Captain DESERVED his gold and glory...he WAS Captain Jack Sparrow after all...
Then Eric...to this Evelyn shook her head. Simply the mere THOUGHT of him caused a tangible pain in her heart and it was as if she were being pressed in between a vice. She had already wept for him and she wouldn't do it again. NO...what she needed now was to get back to him, some way...somehow...
"I say we FORCE her to tell us WHERE the City is exactly and then dispose of her." Luis stern tone arose, instantly corrupting and disrupting Evelyn's thoughts. "She is already proving to be a nuisance, and with Jack Sparrow's crew behind...it would be BETTER if we got rid of the...how do you say...'dead weight'?" Luis smiled maliciously at her, spitting at her feet, bringing her attention to him. He had to admit, he too pittied her in a way, and would find it a shame indeed to simply kill the girl off so bluntly, but it was for the best he deemed...
Luis ran a hand through his dark, greasy, locks and slid to sit up against a tree and faced Evelyn. He eyed her curiously and took out his dagger from his boot. It seemed they would be staying here for the night and if they were, then he would want a good constant view of Miss Pear. If anything he knew she was crafty and her mind was ever churning with ideas.
Then with the flick of his wrist he let the dagger fly, hitting the tree Evelyn sat up against RIGHT next to her right ear, barely nicking it and causing Evelyn to become startled from her tending to her ankle duties and her honeyed eyes went on fire. Luis gave a hearty laugh at the sight of her and he shook his head. "Our poor Evelyn..." Luis began to say slowly.
Taking a look between the two bickering, Barbossa gave a small grunt and took the blade quickly from the tree, peering at Miss Pearl the entire time. He wouldn't be allowing her to have ANY leverage on them and tossing a dagger towards her, EVEN while she was tied up wasn't exactly the wisest thing to do. "Yer righ' Luis...Miss Pearl IS a bit of a nuisance..." The Captain sighed as he took a seat close by, his yellowed grin still visible even now in the soft moonlight.
"Yet...I do everything fer a reason..." He began slowly as his eyes drifted over her carefully, examining her with a keen eye and a small, sick, grin grew on his aged face. "An' she'll SERVE her purpose...mark my words..." The old Captain croaked as he attempted to settle in to catch a few winks of rest. "The Dagger o' Curunin cannot very well be achieved through NO sacrifice at all...an' 'sides...who could resist the temptation of a rather...charmin' lass anyway." Barbossa said as his eyes travelled over her once again.
He still couldn't pin point what it was exactly, there were the physical attributes about her that did stir the Captain's black soul, but there was something more that he couldn't rightly place...something that even bewildered him...HIM...and THAT was a feat indeed...
Evelyn glared at Barbossa and shook her head. "Yer BOTH bloody dispicable, ye know tha'?" Evelyn asked, lifting a curved brow. "I SWEAR if I EVER get outta this ye better run fer yer lives..." she hissed at them both as she finally managed to weakly tie up her ankle properly.
Her bound wrists burned from the chaffing, but for the past day she had been working at loosening and wriggling her way out of the ropes that binded her. Perhaps...if things went the way she was hoping for...she would be free sooner than the Captain planned for her too....
As Evelyn leaned her head back onto the tree which supported her, Eric drifted stubbornly into her mind and although it caused her pain, she couldn't help but smile. "Eric..." Evelyn managed to whisper softly, as if saying it would make her dreams a reality. Her thoughts turned back to their happier times, the whole incident when they were hanging off the side of the ship, her attempts at singing, his warm embraces, comforting words, and smile.
Then she thought of the night she had awoken next to him in bed, the shock of it all, her looking for her boot, and then...his words. They stuck in her mind like jagged stones in a clear cool river. Still visible, but yet somehow the waters have found their way around their jagged ways. Evelyn supposed she would have to settle for struggling through things with Eric. He had the tendancy to speak before he thought things over she supposed...but it still didn't make it right.
Evelyn sighed heavily then, her eyes staring up into the night skies. She would forget it all, never think of it again, or ever bring it up with him again if it meant having a few more moments with him. She wouldn't ever forget the hurt he caused her at times, but she would work past it. In truth, he was the only one to ever genuinely show concern for her and it touched Evelyn deeply. Even throughout her antics, her hot temper, and various other deformities, he had stuck it out with her.
She loved him...far beyond any way she thought she could love someone. Her heart ached again and she shook her head. It was her fault this happened...she should have stayed by his side in the camp instead of having wandered off which prompted them both to be caught off gaurd and isolated. The pain in her body ached for certain, but her nightmares plagued her more heavily now than ever. Perhaps Eric never completely wiped them from her mind, but simply being around him dulled them.
If only he were here...or if she could simply hold him once more, feel his secure arms, and his comforting words..."You'll be alright Evy..." which always instilled a peace in her, even if they weren't always the complete truth. The problem wasn't that he was missing from her life, it was that she missed him dearly...nor that he lied but that she WANTED desperately to believe him...
With that last thought Eve shook her head and turned again to her situation, she would ONLY ever see him again if she pulled herself out of this soon...for who KNEW what sort of things Barbossa or Luis had in mind for her ultimate fate...

::Jack stood up at Rhys came over and unloaded a few choice words on him::
::He smiled faintly:: "Thank ye for yer concern." He said with a nod, realizing of course she'd been worried. He wasn't that dim after all:: "an' it's not much..just a pistol wound and some scrtaches...I'll be fine."
::He gave Sarah and Rhys a nod and smile then looked at the gold spoon Rhys held. His eyes glittered a little more then normal and he grinned:: "Aye..I imagine we're close....We'll be moving before dawn....."
::Then he looked at the two of them.:: "Get some rest, both of ye and thank you, yer good crewmen...women....ye know...so sleep a while..."

*Eric lifted his head and gazed through weary eyes as Will suddenly hit the ground like a pile of bricks. He raised a brow and figured the man must have finally guessed that he was going to be a father. Eric scooped up a rock and fondled it a bit as he watched the happy couple together, rejoicing in the news about becoming a family. He was happy for his friend but his now shadowed mind wouldn't allow him to show it. Nothing short of seeing Evelyn alive and having her in his arms would make him happy now.
She was on his mind with every moment that passed and his heart was heavy and empty because of it. He couldn't keep himself from fearing the worse, fearing that if she wasn't dead or suffering already that she soon would be. Why would they keep her around after they got to the City? What purpose would she serve to them then? At this thought a flash of what she had told him earlier about the things she'd endured on the Devils Wrath went through his mind. He quickly shook the thought away. Unless he was dead, he would never let Barbossa or his crew do those things to her.
He couldn't get over the fact that he hadn't protected her, that he hadn't kept her from getting kidnapped. He shook his head and with a heavy sigh, pulled his knees to his chest and burried his face in them. He thought about how he had told her earlier he didn't know if he could love her and inwardly he cursed himself for this. How could he have possibly said that? Of course he loved her, he loved her more than anything on this earth and beyond. He felt weak and broken without her, as if he had no real purpose in this world anymore.
If only he could hold her in his arms again, feel her skin against his, her lips upon his own, see her smile or her honey eyes. He'd give anything, even his life to have these things again if only for a second. Finally he laid down carefully on his back, wincing as he did so. He folded his arms beneath his head and gazed up at the sky. Everything felt so distant, so cold and lifeless. He closed his eyes and choked back his tears. No, he wouldn't let this pain drive him into madness nor would he allow himself to give up now. She was out there somewhere and he would find her. Even if it took the rest of his days he would find her. He wouldn't be whole until he did.*

::Jack had been watching Eric a long while. Poor bugger. And being Jack he HAD to go over and put in his two cents::
::He plopped down next to Eric and gave the man a heartfelt slap on the shoulder: "Mate...I know yer worried bout Evelyn....we all are mate....and we'll get her back..."
::He smiled a little:: "I know ye might think this crew is just a crew but it's more then that mate and we look out for each other as best as we can.....and We'll find Evelyn and if the Powers are willing we'll get revenge, savvy?"
::He gave the lad a nod and stood up and walked away. He did the best he could and began pacing again:::
