<Prepare thyselves for a long post, mateys...*cackle* This is Part One of my long-planned-and-awaited post...*ebil grin* Don't interrupt Rose or Hawk, k? XD>
Rose Glassman
Hawk Aureye
Rose's relief was immense when the Pearl docked in Tortuga. As everyone started moving towards the hole in the Pearl, she felt an ache to go and help. She trusted the others with the repairs, but she did want to help fix her father's ship. She was about to leave and go after them when she felt a hand on her elbow, holding her in place. She turned to see the person doing it - it was the prisoner in the cell.
Hawk had had enough. He'd planned on killing the girl who was standing guard - he didn't have enough chivalry to bother not killing a woman - and then escaping back to Tortuga. She was about to leave...now, Hawk couldn't let that happen, could he? He reached out to grab her elbow.
When she turned around, Hawk nearly let go of her in surprise. It was HER! Jack Sparrow's daughter! He felt a thrill of surprise and delight go through him at this unexpected development.
Rose raised an eyebrow at the sudden look of surprise on the prisoner's face. "Let go o' me," she snarled, jerking her arm out of his grasp. "What d'you want?"
Hawk grinned ever so slightly. "You don't recognize me, do you?" he asked, still in his Navy officer voice. He then pulled off his Navy hat and bared his teeth in a truly pirate-like grin. Shedding the accent for his all-pirate one, he sneered, "Ya reco'nize me now, lass?"
Rose gasped. She knew that voice...it was him, the pirate that she'd fought with three years ago! "You!" she hissed with fury, her hand going unconsciously to the scar he and another had made on her shoulder. She'd killed the other pirate who'd made it...the same fate, she knew, would await this one.
"I knew I'd see ye again, mate," she hissed again, leaning into his cell. "I swore I'd fight with ye...swore I'd avenge me scar, and leave one just as bad on you. Hah! I see now what it's come to fer you...posin' as a Navy officer, sneakin' on board me Dad's ship..." She spat at his feet. "So? You pirate enough t' fight me?"
Hawk laughed. He had to admire her bravado. Over the years, his furious grudge for her had become a grudging admiration. Her hatred of him, however, was completely obvious, and Hawk knew he'd have to duel with her to show her that he was honest now.
"'Course I am," he said cooly and calmly, sliding into his normal voice. "But d'you really want to draw attention to yourself 'ere on the ship? 'Twould be better if we went on shore..."
Rose snorted. "So you c'n slip away from me an' escape? I think not, mate..." She unlocked the cell door and grabbed the prisoner by his wrists with one hand. "C'mon."
She dragged him over to her cabin - she'd just gotten it recently, it was large and spacious...perfect for fighting. She drew her sword from her belt, releasing the young man and facing him.
Hawk grinned again and drew his own sword, facing the girl down with determination. His plan was unfolding perfectly. Now it was all up to chance...
