Blue eyes opened rapily as the woman realized that there was nothing below her anymore. "Crap!" she yelled as the red-head fell through the air. "Not again!" she managed to mutter before she hit the water. An icy chill went through her body, this had to be the best wake up call ever. She had been sure that she would hit the deck, but no that's right she had slept on the spar close to the edge of the ship. A roll to the wrong side would launch her overboard.
Cursing the girl, splashed around and managed to pop her head out of the water. She hoped that the splash and the curses would point out to someone that she had fallen overboard, but she wasn't quiet sure. Better to be safe than sorry... "Some body get me the bloody hell out of the water!" she hollered at the top of her lungs. The boat was moving swiftly away, and she started swimming after it in an attempt to keep it from getting too far.
Life did not seem to be going her way right now. First the Captain is out of commision for a while, then she gets a letter from her brother bearing bad news, then she gets an early morning wake up call... and she only went to sleep a few hours ago! "This is not my day!" she muttered slamming a fist against the water in anger. The only result was salt water in her eyes.

Evelyn stood there staring out at the ocean's before her when suddenly something fell from the heavens. "What the bloody hell...?!" she exclaimed, blinking several times, and then looking down. "Did you see that?" she asked, though it was not clear that the question was really directed at Eric. Peering over the edge, her eyes looked for anything that might be what fell seemingly from the skies. "Dear GOD!" She yelped. "RHYS!" she screamed and rolled her eyes. "Another idiot...doesn' she know not ta fall asleep up in those things?!" she barked, glancing around the deck of the ship. There was nothing to toss in for her to cling onto and by then, they might even be too far for them to toss at her.
Without another word, she headed off below decks, searching for some rope in the storage room at the end of the hall. Tossing over a few barrels, she found a large pile of it, swung it onto her shoulder, and ran hurriedly up onto the deck again. "Here! Make yerself useful!" Evelyn said as she tossed him the rope and tied herself quickly with the rope around the waist. "She's drifting too far now..."
Then, placing her right hand upon the railings of the ship she seemed to mutter something about clumsy pirates before splasing into the cool waters below.
With a loud splash, she was suddenly submerged in the deep indigo waters. Her eyes opened under its surface and she peered around quickly before swimming to catch a breath. Breaking its surface, she took in a deep breath and stared off at Rhys. "Swim towards me as much as ye.....can!" she called, swalling a fair bit of water in the process causing her to hack. Evelyn's hair was in her face now and she swatted it away. Her legs beat against the waters feverishly. Rhys seemed ages away now. "Keep going!" she called again with a bit of a struggle.
She stretched her hand out, straining it to graze Rhys' fingers. Finally taking her hand in hers, she pulled her in. "Rhys, what the hell? Promise me ye won't go sleeping amongst the rigging, spars, and general sails area, alright?" she said with a genuinely worried look on her face. Turning back to the Pearl, she then made a sound that signaled the ropes slack was up and she was now being dragged by the swift moving Pearl.
"ERIC!" she screamed, waving her hand hoping he would get the signal to pull them both in by now.

(man i feel like an ickle newbie... my posts are soooo short!)
Kat was still sitting in her "spot" when something fell into the water. A second splash sounded, annoncing someone had gone after the fallen pirate. She slowly stood up and meandered her way over to the rail where Eric stood holding a rope. "Who is it this time?" She glanced over the rail. "Oh Rys is it? And Ev jumped in after her. Good lass. Always helpin' others." Kat sighed "Might as well pull them out." Kat took hold of the rope and began to pull "well are you going to help me?" She said glaring at Eric.

(Wow,a Rick-only post... ) Rick was jolted out of his thoughts Rhys fell. His eyes flickered automatically towards the motion, and he let fly a string of curses the likes of which have seldom been heard again. His automatic response was to search for a length of rope which wasn't already holding up some vital piece of the ship, but before he could accomplish this, Evelyn was already in the water with her. He breathed out a slight sigh of relief, knowing that the small woman was fully capable. Honestly, though, they were a bunch of damned pirates...it was amazing they'd all survived for so long when they were constantly running into and falling off of things.
Though he knew full well that Evelyn had the situation under control, he continued to watch the pair of them carefully, ready to assist an any way needed. After all, you didn't just leave your mates in a tight spot.
When Kat began pulling on the rope, he was there in a moment, getting a firm grip on the rope and pulling with all his strength.

Christiana grimaced inwardly at the mention of Seurill's name."Not a thing. It's really a bit perplexing...I mean, this is Tortuga!I know half the population, and they know the other half. I could see a few people covering up for him,but everyone in the city? There's too many rats here for that..."She sighed in obvious frustration, stopping and leaning against the corner of a dilapidated old building, her arms folded huffily."I'll find something. This is big,Aaron, big enough that there's no way he can hide forever..."Despite the confidence of her words, she was unused to such long periods of uselessness. She was running on bravado now, and had only a limited supply of that. Lifting a delicate hand to rub at her temple, she watched the urchins running around in the street, the thieves and beggars slinking through the gutters. Good old Tortuga...home sweet home...
There was no time to be thinking like that, she chided herself, hazel eyes snapping to attention.Seurill was providing...difficulty.But she would find him,and bring him back to Barbossa, and then she could repay him, make his life hell. The thought brought a small, wry smile to her lips, and she looked back at Aaron."Well...any place in particular you want to go,or is the nearest bar all right?"

::The streets of Tortuga were alive as ever, despite -- or perhaps because of -- the late hour. Every corner, every porch, every tavern was alight with music and dancing, drinking and gambling.... Just what one might expect from the port town of pirates. It was an endearing place, really , once one became accustomed to the smell::
::Barbossa, however, was beginning to despise it::
::The jovial, drunken mood of everyone around him as he stalked through the streets seemed to contrast greatly with his own sullen one. He swore, the next time someone shot him a grin, he'd return the favor with a bullet between the eyes::
::Finally, he spotted the pub up ahead. It was darker than the buildings around it, and would have appeared closed down to anyone who didn't know better. Barbossa did know better, and stepped into the dimly-lit room of his favorite tavern in all of Tortuga, the Weighted Barrel. Grateful for the sudden peace, the pirate captain took a seat in the back corner of the room and waved for the barmaid to bring him a drink::
::While he waited, he peered out from under his hat at the faces of the few patrons left in the tavern. Most were alone, and all seemed lost in their own dark thoughts::
::Well, he'd tried everywhere else....::

*Eric laughed and rolled his eyes at Evelyns defense of her height in a battle situation. He supposed she had somewhat of a point. Grinning he nudged her slightly with his elbow.* I'm not freakishly tall you know. Its just that 6 foot is really big to you. *He said, standing back up away from the railing and thrusting his hands into his pockets. He always enjoyed teasing her about her small stature, even though he personally found it preferable. Her size fit him well for a plethera of reasons (though Evelyn would kill him if he ever named any of them outloud)
Suddenly he saw something fall out of the corner of his eye and it was followed by a splash and an angry call. His brow furrowed and he followed the others over to the other railing only to find that Rhys had fallen into the water. Within an instant Evelyn had found a barrel, tied herself to a rope, and threw herself in to save the lass. With her fear of water Eric found this action interesting.
Watching with both amusement and concern he quickly got to helping Rick and Kat hoist the two women back up on the ship. Between him, Rick, and Kat they had plenty of strength to pull the women up and over the railing. Reaching out quickly to help Evelyn back over his eyes went straight to Rhys.* Are you alright Rhys? Fall asleep on the spar again? *He asked with a grin.*

Rhys sputtered in annoyance, but couldn't keep the grin off her face. She'd been around these pirates for far too long, they knew her far too well. They knew that she had fallen asleep on a spar and rolled off, they knew it was her and really weren't that surprised and it had happened often enough that they could react quickly and get the person back on board without any problems.
"I really should just tie myself to the ship, shouldn't I?" she asked with an innocent grin.
Rolling on her side to look at Eve from where she lay on the deck, "Thanks again." She attempted to look innocent when she answered the request given in the water, "And I promise I won't sleep on the spars, in the rigging, or the crowsnest without tieing myself to something."
"Thanks for not leaving me," Rhys murmured up to those that had helped haul her in. It really was embarassing falling overboard, but it seemed that everyone did it at least once, especially in this crew.

Evelyn spat, coughed, and gagged for a few moments as she was pulled onto the decks. For a moment, as she was hauled over, she fell into his arms, soaking him completely from the front of his shirt. Her head instinctively now, rested on his chest, under his chin, until she looked up at him, and let go, remembering that she still was slightly upset with him.
Her eyes closed as she sprawled herself out on the deck, slightly exhausted from having to swim agains the current for a bit. She lay there under the Caribbean sun, frowing angrily for being so wet and cold now. Evelyn despised having to immerse herself in the water like that, but any time the crewe were in trouble, she was there whole heartedly.
"Don' just tie yourself to it, strap and shackle yourself down!" she said between a series of wheezes and coughs. She was too out of it now to lift herself up and so only stretched out her hands, hoping someone would pick her up from her spot.
"Bloody hell....I hate sea water." she muttered, attempting to comb her fingers through her now salt sprinkled curls. It was bad enough she baked it in the sun all day, now her hair would be a veritable mess and while she never cared before, she had at least one small reason to at least care in the slightest.

*As the two women were pulled back up on deck Eric grinned at Rhys and laughed, shaking his head.* That might be a good idea! *He exclaimed. When Evelyn looked up at him and suddenly pulled away he cocked a brow and snorted. Apparently she still had a bit of a grudge against him. He didn't really mind however as it happened often enough for him to know by now that eventually she'd get over it.
Looking down at the front of his now rather soaked shirt he looked between Rhys and Evy. He pondered taking it off up on deck before going down below to fetch a dry one for the soul purpose of seeing Evelyn's reaction but finally decided against it. It would dry on its own soon enough.
As she began to comb her fingers through her wet, salty hair Eric couldn't help but grin, knowing why she was doing it. Stooping down and helping her to her feet he looked her over and shook his head.* You should go change before we get to that ship. *He said, imagining how uncomfortable it would be to fight in a soaked outfit. He figured he'd follow her down if she changed, not really eager to stay in a wet shirt either.* I can take you down there if you need it. I don't want you falling down the stairs and breaking your neck! *He said softly enough so the others wouldnt hear. He knew how much Evelyn hated taking help from someone.*

She stood up with a bit of assitance and smiled at Saber and Rick for coming over. "Thanks you two. Glad you showed up. It was scary enough being in those waters and only seeing Eric up there hauling us in. Knowing him," She said, nodding her head towards him, "the idiot would probably let us drown!" she huffed but giving them a greatful smile. When he spoke up, she turned and arched a brow and stared down briefly at herself before she crossed her arms a bit uncomfortably. "Hmm...a change would be good." she said slowly, her eyes shifting towards the doorway leading below decks.
"Hah! Take me down, did ye say?" she asked, shaking her head. "If anything, you're more prone to break my neck coming with me thatn if you weren't. I mean if you can't even prevent a bloody candle from melting all over the damned place, how can I trust you with anything even remotely significant?" she teased only half serious at this point. "Besides..." she added, looking him over and biting down on her bottom lip in slight concern. "I think you changing would be a good thing as well." Her eyes averted back to the stairs as she passed her crew mates, gave them one last thankful nod, and made towards their cabin passing by, yet once more the galley.
"You know....I'm surprised you didn't take off your shirt right then and there up on that deck." Evelyn said nodding upwards indicating the open deck. "And in a way I'm grateful, as you probably would have only provoked me into takin' drastic measures." A smirk made itself evident then as her hand closed down upon the door knob and then turned it. Heading inside, she made once more for the chest at the end of their bed and extracted a dry shirt.
However, taking it in her hands, she found her hands almost wringing the shirt out nervously. She peered back over her shoulder at him and cleared her throat a bit awkwardly. "Erm...right..." she said, inching her way towards a dark corner of the room in order to change. Even though they had slept together before, Evelyn couldn't help but still feel a bit awkward about being somewhat revealing in front of him. When they were in the moment and all that it was fine, but for her to get used to this was completely a different matter. She supposed with her, intimacy just had to be taken step by step considering all the twisted dealings she had had with that sort of emotion before. Eric was something new really, he respected her, cared for her, and he really was the first man Evelyn had ever had to deal with these emotions with, so it was all a bit new to her.
She threw the shirt to the ground, took up the ends of her moist shirt in her hands, and quickly peeled the material off, before hurriedly bending over to grab the dry one. In her haste she managed to knock her head against the wall. "Ouch!" she said as she felt her face grow hot all the way to her neck and proceeded to quickly snatch up the shirt.

*Eric snorted when Evelyn joked that he probably would have let them both drown.* Well, we'll never know now will we! *He smirked, glancing over at Rick and Kat with a grin. He couldn't help but find her comment rather hilarious since she was the one who couldn't swim. But he said nothing as it seemed he was getting on her good side again. Always a good place to be when you were with Evelyn!
He cocked a brow when she started saying something about if he took her down her neck would more likely get broken. He glanced suddenly over at Rick.* Is it just mine that's like that, or is yours like that too? *He asked, referring to Evelyn and Emma with laugh and a roll of his eyes. As she left towards the galley Eric shook his head and figured he'd follow her and change as well. Her next comment about him taking off his shirt made him laugh exhasperated.* I really don't see why you care. No one on this ship looks at me that way. They know you'll kill them, so honestly it shouldn't be a big deal. *He said. He got annoyed over issues like this because it made him feel like she didn't trust him, but at least she was jealous whether she wanted to admit it or not!
As they got inside he threw his shirt off onto the small table and snatched one of his own shirts from the chest, slipping it on and buttoning it up, making sure it was done correctly though he still didn't button it all the way up, nor was he going to. It was getting too bloody hot outside. He watched her as she went over to the other corner of the room to change and he grinned, sitting down on the edge of the bed and averting his eyes towards the port hole (most of the time at least).* You don't have to change in some corner you know. I've seen you plenty of times, theres no reason to be shy about it. *He stated, though he understood her reasonings.* I really don't mind it you know. *He added with a grin.
He tried not to look as he didn't want her to be uncomfortable, nor did he want her to get upset, but sometimes he couldn't help it. Besides, it never bothered him to change in front of her. Suddenly he saw her bend over with remarkable speed to snatch the shirt and when she hit her head on the wall he laughed out loud, quickly stiffling it with his hand.* Sorry, sorry! But that would't have happened if you'd just get over that you know. *He said, shaking his head, still trying to not to laugh.*

Aaron knew Christina was right. A man who was crazy, and brave enough to challenge Barbossa and to just dissapear... Well It shouldn't be this hard to find him. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. His thoughts were distracted for a moment as a girl walked by. He followed her with his eyes till she looked at him. He smiled one of his disarming smiles and raised his eyebrows. The girl giggled and then began to quickly walk away. Aaron took a step after her and then realized Christina was talking to him.
"What? Oh a tavern? No anything is fine."
He thought for a second.
"Unless its the "Hurricane" there's a barmaid I would rather not meet."
He said with a grin. As they stepped away he took a glance back at the girl. She was gone. 'Oh well' He thought 'I'll find another one somewhere else.'

Kat shrugged.
"I saw a need and I filled it. My good deed is done for the day. No need to thank me."
Kat made her way back over to the crate and sat down. Taking up the bottle of rum she put it to her lips. It was empty. Cursing she flung the bottle as far as she could out to sea.
"We had better catch up with that ship soon, or I am going to lose my temper."
She said quietly to herself. In other words anyone within ten feet of her could hear.
Kat bounded into the rigging once more and asumed a seat on a spar. He hair blew in the wind and the sails flaped about her. She sighed, and staring ahead, willed the Pearl to go faster.
(and because someone isnt posting *cough*Ian*cough*)
Saber sat at the table, her head in her hands, massaging her temples. She sighed and sat back in her chair. She wasn't going to be able to stand the cramped galley for much longer. Excusing herself she made her way on deck.
As she breathed the salt air she looked quickly around. Kat was nowhere in sight. Good, that made things more comfortable.
Saber loved her older sister, and even though they were on the same ship they led different lives. It had only been a few years since they were reunited and saber felt like they were pulling apart. Not that it was just Kat's distant and loner attitude that was seperating. Saber had her own secrets that she felt would reveal themselves all too soon, and so kept them to herself for as long as possible.
She noticed Rys panting on the deck, sopping wet.
"Take a little dip?"
She asked with a grin.

Rick laughed quietly at Eric's comment, shaking his head."Only mosta th' time,an' not usually t'me,"he replied, shaking his head a little bit.It was true enough.Emma could be beligerent, but this was usually only before her first drink in the morning, after her ninth drink in the evening, or to people who weren't him.He watched Eric and Evelyn leave, then glanced for a moment at Kat as she stalked off.How Emma managed to get along with her so well,he'd never know.Weren't opposites supposed to attract, after all? They were both so fierce and unpredictable that he thought they'd naturally gravitate away from one another.Well, the world was strange...
Emma remained below deck a few minutes longer, until she had gotten all the way through her first drink of the day.At the end of this, she was feeling downright cheerful, and quite ready to face whatever was going to happen in the next few hours. She stretched a little bit as she got up,remembering to top off the small flask she kept on herself before she left the galley, moving to the deck.
The sunlight seemed so much less...stabby...when she'd had something to drink. She flashed a grin at her friends, walking over to Rick."So...are we all ready f'r the fight?"She asked, glancing over at the Margarita. It had been a few days since her last good fight...
